Performance of solar panels as electricity source to burn rice powder in the biomass gasification process

Currently, energy needs are one of the sources of human life that cannot be separated. Energy can be classified into two, energy sourced from fossils of living things and plants, with high rice production, making gasification tools an alternative to the use of rice husks into energy. Gasification is a thermochemical process of converting solid fuels into gas thus gasification using this resource is itself a renewable energy. This research is experimental. The air flow rate valve is set at speed = 2.2 m/s for the glowplug variation 3, 2.5m/s for the glowplug variation 4, 2.6m/s for the glowplug variation 5, 2.9 m/s for the glowplug variation 6 with Air Fuel Ratio (AFR)) 0.7%, 0.8%, 0.9%, 1%. With the glowplug variation, the highest temperature is up to 888°C with 1% AFR.

Regional Water Supply Company (RWSC) of Ternate City is a company managed by the local government which in its operation needs to prioritize the fulfillment of clean water for communities. Therefore the services of RWSC should based on the standards of quality service provided by the National Agency for the Improvement of Drinking Water Supply System. On the other side, the demand for clean water supply and services is increasing every year. This is caused by an increase in population and the development of cities or service areas relating to the improvement of the socio-economic. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the performance of water supply service providers in Ternate City. Data analysis based on the guidelines from the National Agency for the Improvement of Drinking Water Supply System involves several indicators such as the financial aspects, service aspects, operational aspects, and aspects of human resources. The result shows that the score of the financial reaches 0.92, the service aspect 0.88, the operational aspect 0.88, and the human resource aspect 0.52. These results show that the performance of Regional Water Supply Company (RWSC) of Ternate City achieves score 3.2 and it indicates that the performance of Regional Water Supply Company (RWSC) of Ternate City in the healthy category.

The rapid advancement of information technology requires us to always keep abreast of the times in the current global era, the ease of information from various technologies, especially internet technology in internet access services so that it directly facilitates information about fast fashion products that provide many advantages and convenience in following the latest fashion trends. especially youth fashion among students as part of self-existentialization efforts, thus making them behave consumptively. The aims of this study are (1) to find out the latest technology in fast fashion (2) to find out what factors influence students' consumption behavior towards fast fashion. In this study, the population was UNY students, with a sample size of 382 students who were taken randomly. This type of research is descriptive with a quantitative approach. This research took place from February 2021 - June 2021. The measuring instrument used was a questionnaire in the form of a questionnaire with statements consisting of fast fashion consumption behavior. Questionnaires were distributed to respondents online. The results of the study show that (1) internet technology through social media significantly influences buying decisions for fast fashion products. (2) consumer behavior based on the theory of planned behavior in terms of Attitude Toward Behavior, Subjective Norm, Perceived behavior control on average, female undergraduate students of the faculty of engineering, who are between the ages of 20 have a higher tendency to consume fast fashion products. Vanadate-based photocatalysts have recently attracted substantial attention owing to their outstanding photocatalytic activity for degrading organic pollutants and generating energy via photocatalytic processes. However, the relatively high price of vanadium has hindered the development of vanadate-based photocatalysts for various applications. Spent catalysts obtained from oil refineries typically contain a significant quantity of vanadium, making them valuable for recovery and utilization as precursors for the production of high-value-added photocatalysts. In this study, we transformed the V present in spent catalysts produced by the petrochemical industry into ternary vanadate-based photocatalysts [BiVO4/InVO4/Ag3VO4 (BVO/IVO/AVO, respectively)] designed for water remediation. The ternary composites revealed an enhanced photocatalytic capability, which was 1.42 and 5.1 times higher than those of the binary BVO/IVO and pristine AVO due to the facilitated charge separation. The ternary photocatalysts not only effectively treated wastewater containing various organic dyes, such as methylene blue (MB), rhodamine 6G (R6G), and brilliant green (BG), but also exhibited remarkable photocatalytic performance in the degradation of antibiotics, reduction of Cr(VI), and bacterial inactivation. This paper proposes a feasible route for recycling industrial waste as a source of vanadium to produce highly efficient vanadate-based photocatalysts. © 2024 Elsevier Ltd

Characterization and performances of hydrophobic polymer membrane modified with dragon’s blood resin

Hydrophobic membranes have limitations, which are the low permeation rate and susceptible to fouling, therefore membrane modifications are generally required. In this paper, hydrophobic polymer membrane modification has been studied by mixing dragon's blood resin (DBR) as bio additive. Two types of polymers were used, they were polyethersulfon (M-3 PES) and polyvinylidene Two types of polymers were used, they were polyethersulfon (M-3 PES) and polyvinylidene fluoride (M-3 PVDF) with a concentration of 14.5% polymer and 3% DBR. The results showed that M-3 PES had greater porosity, water uptake, pore size, and clean water flux than M3-PVDF. However, the antifouling performance of M-3 PVDF membrane tends to be better than M-3 PES, as well as its rejection. Both membranes tend to be stable even after repeated use.

The Southern Coast of West Java Province in the Java Islands is one of prone and exposed area to tsunami hazard. It has about 428 kilometers coastline length, covering 5 administrational regencies (i.e. Sukabumi, Cianjur, Garut, Tasikmalaya, and Pangandaran). It is a strategic area that support many economic activities including tourism, fisheries, electricity power plants, agricultures, markets as well as social factors such as coastal villages, schools and other public facilities. The existence of this strategic area is threatened by the potential for a tsunami disaster mainly from megathrust along the Southern Coast of Java Island. On 2006, a tsunami earthquake of M7.7 occurred off Pangandaran Regency with tsunami height of 5-8 meters and inundated about 500 meters along southern coast of West and Central Java Province. The tsunami caused more than 600 casualties and damage to buildings, public facilities and insfrastructure. Yet, the Indonesia National Earthquake Source and Hazard Map suggest a bigger threat of a plausible M8.7 - M9.2 megathrust earthquake off Java island. This research aims to analyze and map potential areas affected by the tsunami in the South Coast of West Java Province based on numerical modelling carried out with Cornell Multi-grid Coupled Tsunami Model (COMCOT) v1.7 based on the several megathrust earthquake scenarios in southern off West Java. The results of tsunami modelling show that the highest impact is generated in the Sunda Straits & West Java - Central Java Megathrust Scenarios with highest tsunami inundation and the fastest travel time occurred in Cianjur Regency with 26,7 meters height and estimated arrival time of tsunami wave approximately 10 minutes after the mainshock, while the farthest inundation distance is estimated in Sukabumi Regency about 5.8 kilometers from the coast due to existence of river. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

The stresses that occurred on the structures of a flying wing aircraft exemplified by the Flying-V structures (inspired by the design of Dr. Justus Benad of TU Delft) were evaluated using the finite element method to ensure a safe cruise condition. Two materials, i.e., aluminum alloy and carbon/epoxy composites, were defined in the analysis of the conceptual sub-structures (frame, longeron-stringer, spar-fuselage, ribs, spar wing, and upper and lower skin). These conceptual sub-structures do not necessarily represent the actual design of the Flying-V, although they may be adopted as the initial step. Structural optimization was performed with two objectives: (i) to minimize the sub-structural thickness of fully aluminum aircraft and (ii) to minimize the sub-structural thickness and laminate stacking sequence of fully composite aircraft. To this end, the stresses and wing-tip deflection were minimized. The analysis showed that carbon/epoxy composite is a feasible material to minimize the wing-tip deflection and weight compared to the aluminum alloy. The minimization of wing-tip deflection and weight was possible using a composite lay-up of quasi-isotropic, either (0/45/-45/90)s or (0/45/90/-45)s. Here, the finite element analysis provides a path to further the structural optimization of the non-conventional flying wing aircraft.

The CRISPR/Cas9-mediated base editing design of HBV specific gRNA: A computational approach

Therapy to cure a persistent infection of the Hepatitis B Virus (HBV) is needed to suppress viral replication. Current therapy with nucleoside analogues does not destroy HBV covalently closed circular DNA (cccDNA). A new strategy using Base Editing is required to tackle this viral latent infection. We designed guide RNAs (gRNAs) to target the pre-S and S genes of HBV for the development of antiviral, based on the dominant HBV genotype in Indonesia. The conserved regions of HBV, pre-S and S genes were used to determine a selected target of the Cas9-mediated base editing system. Base Editing (BE)-Designer web-based software to designed gRNA and SnapGene to visualized the expression vector. We identified 5 candidate sequences, including 3 sequences in the pre-S and 2 sequences in the S gene. These target sequences show no mismatches and GC contains between 45-60%. In addition, the gRNA sequences were checked in Nucleotide BLAST tools (NCBI) to prevent the off-target effect and ensure the differences with the human genome. This study provides the candidate target sequences to be developed in antiviral therapy. The utility and efficiency of the candidate sequences need to be evaluated in viral gene expression by in vitro HBV infection systems.

Tourism and the hotel business have benefited greatly from the use of digital social networking. Using social big data research, the application of deep learning seems to have been beneficial in a marketing strategies and customer preference estimate. Recognizing human psychology, which is critical to industrial success, has benefited greatly from digital technology and social media. The Internet of Things (IoT) provides a chance for a hotel sector to improve the customer experience although lowering operational expenses. The ratings are determined by the following factors: Value, Apartment, Location, Hygiene, Front Office, Facilities, Professional Service, Internet, and Parking. Traditional techniques which anticipate hotel evaluations through minimal precision add difficulty to the rating assessment. As a result, efficient deep learning algorithms are employed to evaluate reviews designed to help consumers in selecting better hotels. To predict qualities, multiple classification techniques, including convolutional neural network-based deep learning (CNN-DL) and support vector machine (SVM) network-based deep learning, were used in this research. The system examines system efficiency by using the TripAdvisor website, this is a well American database. The research results reveal that the CNN-DL method outperforms another method in terms of classification efficiency and failure *** graphical results could also be utilized to enhance the effectiveness of the suggested model and offer insights into response tactics, demonstrating the study's academic and conceptual achievements. Although it is feasible to conclude from such research that the possibility of IoT within the hotel industry has not yet been fully investigated, as researchers commonly speculate on using IoT for implementations that might quickly be of involvement to a hotel sector, but refuse to recognize that possibility as a massive market. © 2022 The Author(s)
