A future networking design called "software-defined networking" combines network programmability with centralized administration (SDN). Network administration is currently handled by SDN, which, at the regulator, which acts as the cable network processor and divides the data plane into a control plane and a data aircraft. Recent breakthroughs in artificial intelligence (Al) have shown a stronger inclination for the science community to benefit from their ability to give learning capabilities and enhance Indicator. The author of this research provides a comprehensive analysis of initiatives underway to incorporate Al with SDN. The study concluded that the three primary Al thread where scientific research was centered were computer science, conceptual, and fuzzy reasoning systems. The authors of this paper explore the several fields in which these approaches may be used, their potential future applications, and the innovations made possible by the integration of AI-based methods into the SDN paradigm. By choosing the right SDN controller, any large organization may lower network complexity, implementation expenses, and maintenance costs. The focus of this article is software defined networking's benefits and downsides (SDN). Following is a basic explanation of artificial intelligence and a list of some of its most significant applications in SDN.

The widespread use of synthetic plastics causes environmental issues because of their nondegradability. In this study, biocomposite from Kluwih seed starch were incorporated with carrageenan and cellulose nanofiber (CNF) to improve their mechanical properties. CNFs were prepared using the TEMPO method with ultrasonication. The variables included starch (1, 1.5, 2 g), carrageenan (3, 4.5, 6 g), and CNF (0.006, 0.12, 0.18 g). The mechanical properties of the biocomposite were optimized using RSM. Zeta potential analysis confirmed the stability of CNFs, and XRD and FTIR analyses revealed improved crystallinity and functional groups. The tensile strength of the biocomposites was 12.08 kgf/mm², which is suitable for sustainable packaging applications. © 2025

Tempe is a traditional food that is popular in Indonesia. Tempe consists of soaking, boiling, grinding, transferring, zymosis, packaging, and finally, the storage process. The packaging process is the process that causes the most musculoskeletal disorders. Complaints about the packaging process occur because of the wrong sitting position, repeated within 6-7 hours per day. Identification using Nordic Body Maps scored 71. This condition indicates a high level of risk for musculoskeletal disorders. The packaging process includes 88.89% complaints of pain in the buttocks, 77.78% in the hips, 66.78% in the waist, 55.56% on the back, and 44,44% on the right arm, 33.33% on the right wrist. This research develops a packaging process tool using the Kansei engineering method. The tool’s design is made according to the consumer’s wishes based on "Kansei words," and the manufacture of dimensions is based on anthropometry. Based on the validity test using a significance level of 5% obtained a marginal homogeneity value > 0.05 which indicates the design follows the wishes of consumers. Meanwhile, for the convenience attribute test using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test, the *** (2 tailed) value was obtained at 0.040<0.05, which indicates a significant difference between the packaging process before and after using the tool. The user satisfaction test using the User Experience Questionnaire (UEQ) shows an average value of > 0.8. A score of 0.8 on the UEQ indicates that the user is satisfied with the design.

Waste transportation is a part of complex waste management. Waste transportation will be influenced by the growth of waste. To simplify the implementation of garbage transportation, a waste transportation model is needed. Various wastes transportation models have been developed to explain the process of transporting garbage. The garbage transport model is basically designed to simplify the transportation system so that the behavior of several components in the system can be known. One of the models that can be used in the garbage transportation system is GIS. GIS is a spatial and computerized waste-based modeling, so in era 4.0 this modeling of waste transportation using GIS was needed. This paper aims to discuss the modeling of waste transportation using GIS has been carried out in various regions. The discussion of the paper discusses the use of GIS in waste transportation, a factor that influences GIS in waste transportation. © The Authors, published by EDP Sciences, 2019.

Krakatau is one of the volcano in Indonesia which has the destructive paroxysmal eruption. Eruption on 1883 was estimated had VEI of 6. The eruption was recorded as one among some most violent volcanic eruption event in the world. Gravity method is one of the geophysical methods that could delineate the subsurface structure base on density variation. Therefore, the objectives of this research are to reconstruct the 3D subsurface structure of the Krakatau volcano especially the approximate location and dimension of the magma chamber. The subsurface model of Krakatau was done by 3D modelling using residual anomaly map. In order to develop the status of magma chamber model, the available information on the geological map of Krakatau and surrounding area was used. Besides that, some information relative to the volcano such as the information derived from earthquake wave attenuation were utilized. The result of the study shows that position its volcano magma chamber is not directly vertical or oblique under the volcano crater and it has multiple chambers which trending northwest-southeast. © 2019 IOP Publishing Ltd. I-V-VI2 ternary chalcogenides were gaining more attention recently owing to their high air stability along with earth-abundant and nontoxic compounds. More interestingly, some of them have been predicted to be potential 'perovskite-inspired materials' that can exhibit defect tolerance. In this work, we investigated the optoelectronic properties of cation-disordered NaBiS2 nanocrystals, which have a steep absorption onset, with absorption coefficients > 105 cm-1 just above its pseudo-direct bandgap of 1.4 eVe Surprisingly, an ultrafast photoconductivity decay and long-lived charge-carrier population almost independent of defect densities were simultaneously observed in N aBiS2 nanocrystals. Through the density functional theory calculations, these unusual features are found to be highly associated with the non-bonding S p orbitals above the upper valence band, which can be further enhanced by cation inhomogeneity. Our work hence reveals the critical role of cation disorder on both absorption characteristics and charge-carrier kinetics of I-V-VI2 ternary chalcogenides. © 2024 IEEE.

Isolation and optimization of polyhydroxybutyrate from Chlorella vulgaris using NaClO and ultrasonication aided chemical pretreatment methods

The increasing use of food packaging makes plastic waste the biggest environmental issue. Since the use of conventional plastic comes from fossil polymers, so it is difficult to be decomposed by bacteria. The right solution is to replace it with bioplastics. This study uses Chlorella vulgaris as a producer of Poly-β-hydroxybutyrate (PHB). PHB has characteristics such as biodegradability, thermoplasticity, hydrophobicity, biocompatibility with cells and tissues, and physical properties similar to polypropylene, which can potentially apply in food, pharmaceutical, and medical packaging. PHB is obtained by isolating biomass from Chlorella vulgaris. This research studied PHB isolation using chemical and mechanical cell disruption methods, namely NaClO and sonication, with variations in solvent concentration. The simplest and most economical method of isolation of C. vulgaris is the general stages of cell disruption, PHB precipitation, and PHB purification. The quantifying PHB method is by calculating the yield of PHB, then identifying PHB by FTIR, and testing the quality of the best PHB compounds by GCMS. The parameters used in this study are yield, PHB physical results, and PHB test results. In the condition of 0.6% w/v sample concentration and 1.37% w/v solvent concentration using ultrasonication, the best PHB isolation yield was 37.2%. GCMS sample results showed the presence of n-hexadecanoic acid (palmitic acid), 9-Octadecanoic acid (oleic acid), 2-Palmitoylglycerol, and Octadecanoic acid (stearic acid) as the main compounds that could potentially be bioplastic materials.

Optimization of screw press pressure toward oil losses in the crude palm oil industry

This article focuses on the processing engineering and application of a screw press in the crude palm oil industry. The screw press is a machine designed to extract oil from palm fruit fibre and nut, aiming to minimize oil losses in the fibre. However, excessive pressure in the screw press can lead to broken nuts, negatively impacting oil quality. The objective is to determine the optimal pressure that ensures minimal oil losses while adhering to industry standards. The study reveals a logarithmic relationship between screw press pressure and oil losses, meanwhile, relationship between pressure and broken nut was polynomial. The industry standard sets a maximum oil loss limit of 5% and a broken nut limit of 15%. Therefore, finding the appropriate pressure is crucial for achieving optimal results in crude palm oil extraction. This study obtained 60 bar as optimum pressure from mathematical analysis. This research contributes to the understanding of processing engineering techniques in the palm oil industry and aids in enhancing oil yield and quality.

The Unified Power Quality Conditioner (UPQC) is a combination of a series active filter (SeAF) and a shunt active filter (ShAF) connected in parallel by a DC link capacitor. This device can mitigate power quality (PQ) problems i.e. sag/swell, harmonics, and unbalance on the source and load bus of threephase three-wire (3P3W) on low voltage distribution systems simultaneously. The disadvantage of UPQC is that it is unable to overcome the voltage interruption so that the source can not deliver power to the load. This paper proposes a dual UPQC model to overcome the voltage interruption on the source bus so that the load bus continues to get power supply. There are six disturbance cases i.e. sinusoidal supply-sag-non-linear load (SSag-NL-L), sinusoidal supply-swell-NL-L (S-Swell-NL-L), sinusoidal-interruption-NL-L (S-Inter-NL-L), distorted supplysag-NL-L load (D-Sag-NL-L), distorted supply-swell-NL-L (DSwell-NL-L), and distorted supply-interruption-NL-LL (DInter-NL-L). The proportional Integral (PI) method is used to control the SeAF and the ShAF in the dual UPQC circuit model. The simulation results show that in the D-Inter-NL-LL case, a Dual UPQC model can maintain a load voltage magnitude of 266.60 V (voltage drop only of 14%), higher compared to a Single UPQC model of 173.97 V (voltage drop of 43.88%). In the same case, a dual UPQC model is capable of resulting in an average total harmonics distortion (THD) of load voltage of 10.10%, lower compared to a single UPQC model of 26.70%.
