Molecular docking study of Keji Beling leave compound as protein 1J4X inhibitor to cervical cancer cell

VHR (Vaccinia H1-related phosphatase) is a protein that is involved in cervical cancer. 1J4X protein as a protein for cervical cancer cells is a structure of the VHR (Vaccinia H-1 related phosphate) receptor protein whose inhibition can reduce proliferation of cervical cancer cells. With current treatments which are expensive and cause side effects, alternative treatments are needed that are safe and do not cause side effects. Keji beling leaves are known to contain flavonoid compounds which are natural phenolic compounds that have the potential as anticancer. At present the design and development of new drugs can begin to be done in silico with biocomputing studies to analyze interactions known as molecular docking. With this method, the prediction of binding macromolecules (receptors) in the form of protein targets and small molecules (ligands) in the form of compound candidates can be carried out efficiently using software that utilizes docking algorithms and scoring functions. Molecular docking test results give the best docking score for quercetin which is -6.7, followed by n-hexadecanoic acid of -5.1 and finally 9-dodecenoic acid, methyl ester, (E) - worth -4.2 of 1J4X protein. Quercetin is a compound with the best inhibition potential against VHR which is indicated by the lowest docking score.

Hydrotalcite as one of the advanced materials is applied in wide range of aspects like adsorption. This research aims to study the capability of the hydrotalcite like compound Mg-Al-CO3 material to remove the organic dye, namely, congo red and methylene blue in water through adsorption. Prior to the adsorption process, hydrotalcite like compound Mg-Al-CO3 was calcined within temperature ranges of 300-750°C. The adsorption process was carried out by batch method with variations in calcination temperature of the hydrotalcite material and variations in contacting time. The performance effectiveness of hydrotalcite was evaluated through the adsorption percentages based on the absorbance measurement data using the UV-Vis instrument. The results showed excellent hydrotalcite's capability of removing both organic dyes. Hydrotalcite calcined at 600°C was able to remove 94% of the organic dyes within 30 minutes.

Over the past 10 years, materials science and engineering have shown increasing interest in incorporating lignocellulosic fibers into polymer and hybrid composites (LCF-CPH). This bibliometric analysis, covering the period 2012 to 2022, examines the current state of research on the application of these fibers in composites, with the aim of identifying significant contributions, new trends, and possible future directions. The analysis included a comprehensive database search using specific criteria, which revealed a significant increase in research activity on a variety of lignocellulosic fibers, such as flax, jute, hemp and sisal. This growth is particularly evident in the packaging, automotive, aerospace and construction industries. Hybrid composites based on these fibers have gained prominence due to their enhanced properties, which include improvements in mechanical, thermal and environmental characteristics. The findings of this research have significant implications for governments, corporations, and academic institutions. Researchers gain a deeper understanding of emerging trends, industry gains valuable insights into the advantages of adopting lignocellulosic fibers, and policymakers gain essential information to support the development of sustainable composites. In the field of advanced composites and sustainable materials, this work lays a solid foundation for future research and industrial applications. © 2024

Process intensification approach for design and optimization of biodiesel production from palm fatty acid distillate

Design of the biodiesel production from palm fatty acid distillate (PFAD) using process intensification approach is studied in technical, economic and environmental view points. Firstly, the transport phenomena analysis is performed to select the suitable intensified unit. The reactive distillation is selected and used in esterification – transesterification process and hydrolysis – esterification process. The optimum condition of reactive distillation in esterification – transesterification is achieved when the methanol is fed at the 3rd stage of the 4-stage column and the liquid holdup is maintained at 6 m³. The intensified esterification – transesterification process offers higher biodiesel yield and consumes less energy compared with the intensified hydrolysis – esterification process. The economic analysis shows that the intensified esterification-transesterification process is found to be economically feasible. Finally, environment assessment based on life cycle analysis (LCA) indicates that the environmental impact of both processes are similar. © 2021 The Author(s)

In 2022, tobacco was the top export commodity, generating $106.3 million in sales. East Java Province contributes significantly to Indonesia's tobacco production, with an annual output of 188.6 thousand tons. Jember Regency is the area in East Java Province which is a Kasturi tobacco cultivation area. The productivity of Kasturi tobacco continues to decrease due to several factors that can affect the survival of the tobacco. This study aims to analyze the survival of Kasturi tobacco by creating stratified Cox and extended Cox models in order to handle factors that cannot fulfill the proportional hazard assumption. Based on the results of the analysis, the stratified Cox model is the best model with AIC and BIC values of 798.108 and 805.5748 respectively, while the extended Cox has AIC and BIC values of 840.2186 and 850.1732 respectively. Variables that can significantly affect the survival of Kasturi tobacco are the variable concentration of ZA fertilizer, pesticide concentration. The addition of ZA fertilizer must be appropriate, because if excessive it can cause poisoning of tobacco plants. Likewise with pesticides, if excessive it will cause damage to the leaves. This policy can increase the productivity of Kasturi tobacco. Then, Jember Regency contributes greater export capacity. • This paper aims to determine the factors that affect the survival of Kasturi tobacco plants in Jember • By using the extended Cox model, the best one is obtained using the Heaviside function with AIC and BIC values of 840.2186 and 850.1732, respectively • The stratified Cox model is better than the extended Cox model, which has AIC and BIC values of 798.108 and 805.5748, respectively © 2025 The Author(s)

The enhancement of phycocyanin yield and purity from Spirulina platensis using freeze-thawing method on various solvents

Phycocyanin is a pigment compound that can be found from Spirulina platensis microalgae. It has been used for food colorant, cosmetic dye and fluorescence reagent for clinical diagnosis. Phycocyanin can be extracted using various procedure that was affected by many factors, one of them is the type of solvent that was used in the extraction process. This research will study the usage of different solvents, using sodium phosphate buffer and calcium chloride. The extraction method used in this research is freeze-thawing. The parameters of this extraction are phycocyanin yield and purity. The obtained result shows a higher yield of phycocyanin from extraction using phosphate buffer, with the value of 35.31 mg/g, and a higher phycocyanin purity from extraction using CaCl2 with the ratio of 2.6.

Background:There is a growing interest to understand the neurobiological mechanisms that drive the positive associations of physical activity and fitness with measures of cognitive *** better understand those mechanisms,several studies have employed eye-based measures(e.g., eye movement measures such as saccades,pupillary measures such as pupil dilation,and vascular measures such as retinal vessel diameter)deemed to be proxies for specific neurobiological ***,there is currently no systematic review providing a comprehensive overview of these studies in the field of exercise-cognition ***,this review aimed to address that gap in the ***:To identify eligible studies,we searched 5 electronic databases on October 23,*** researchers independently extracted data and assessed the risk of bias using a modified version of the Tool for the assEssment of study qualiTy and reporting in EXercise(TESTEX scale,for interventional studies) and the critical appraisal tool from the Joanna Briggs Institute(for cross-sectional studies).Results:Our systematic review(n=35 studies) offers the following main findings:(a) there is insufficient evidence available to draw solid conclusions concerning gaze-fixation-based measures;(b) the evidence that pupillometric measures,which are a proxy for the noradrenergic system,can explain the positive effect of acute exercise and cardiorespiratory fitness on cognitive performance is mixed;(c) physical training-or fitness-related changes of the cerebrovascular system(operationalized via changes in retinal vasculature) are,in general,positively associated with cognitive performance improvements;(d) acute and chronic physical exercises show a positive effect based on an oculomotor-based measure function(operationalized via antisaccade tasks);and(e) the positive association between cardiorespiratory fitness and cognitive performance is partly mediated by the dopaminergic system(operationalized via spo

This study to calculate and composition of fuels from polyethylene waste production per litre. Production method with pyrolysis at 450-621°C without catalyst, and quantitative method with GC-MS. The results product of 5 kg pyrolysis HDPE are 3.25 litres of naphtha;0.85 litre of gasoline;0.325 litre of diesel fuel;and 18.06 grams of residues. Then The product of 5 kg pyrolysis LDPE are 0.5 litres of naphtha;2.9 litre of gasoline;0.1 litre of diesel fuel;and 19 grams of residues. The conclusions in this study were product of 5 kg pyrolysis HDPE are 3.25 litres of naphtha;0.85 litre of gasoline;0.325 litre of diesel fuel;and 18.06 grams of residues. Then The product of 5 kg pyrolysis LDPE are 2.9 litre of gasoline, 0.1 litre of diesel fuel, and 19 grams of residues. Herein, we report on the synthesis and characterization of p-type semiconductor indium phosphide/zinc sulphide (InP/ZnS) core/shell quantum dots (QDs) prepared via a simple solvothermal method and their potential application in bulk heterojunction (BHJ) flexible solar cell (SC). The BHJ SC composed of donor–acceptor (D-A) configuration at nanoscale provides larger interfacial junction area throughout the bulk volume of the photo-absorber D-A blend that facilitates excitons to efficiently dissociate within the bulk layer at D-A interface. Hence, InP/ZnS core–shell QDs and a fullerene derivative – phenyl C61 butyric acid methyl ester (PCBM) – are used as hybrid inorganic–organic D-A materials, respectively, to fabricate Ag/LiF/InP/ZnS-PCBM/P3HT/ITO/PET BHJ flexible SC. Indium tin oxide (ITO) coated on polyethylene terephthalate (PET), poly(3-hexylthiophene) (P3HT), lithium fluoride (LiF) and silver (Ag) are employed as a flexible substrate, hole transport layer (HTL), electron transport layer (ETL) and counter electrode, respectively. Photovoltaic (PV) properties of the fabricated BHJ flexible SC are studied under standard testing conditions (STC) i.e., 25 ⁰C, 1.5 AM global and 100 mW/cm² irradiation, which exhibit fill factor (FF) of 59 ± 0.02 % and power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 4.22 ± 0.05 %. Also, the heterojunction characteristics are investigated in dark condition (0 lx) to find series resistance (R_s), ideality factor (n), and reverse saturation current (I₀). X-ray diffraction (XRD), atomic force microscopy (AFM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and ultraviolet–visible (UV–vis) spectroscopy are performed to further investigate the properties of InP/ZnS-PCBM thin films. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) image of InP/ZnS core/shell QDs confirmed the successful synthesis of QDs having an average size of 5 ± 1 nm. For the purpose of semi-permeable filtration system, membrane morphological structure determines the permeation quality. Membrane surface porosity, pore size distribution, symmetric and asymmetric structure in cross-section membrane play crucial role in transport properties. Therefore, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) plays important role to visualize the microscopical pore structure of membranes. In this study, bio-based composite membranes were prepared using non-solvent induced phase separation (NIPS) method. Polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) was employed as the main material, while ginger extract (GE) and SiO2 nanoparticles were used as additives. SEM image in this study provide information of membrane structure in surface and cross-section part. Furthermore, quantitative data of membranes in term of overall porosity is also presented. ImageJ tools is applied as software-aided SEM images processing method. The result analysis shows that addition of GE and SiO2 increase membrane porosity up to 70.81%.
