Rapid generation of pseudo-random signals that resemble noise is crucial for a signal generator. Unfortunately, many signal generators still utilize a DDS principle-based table lookup method for generating random signals, resulting in a high correlation between pseudo-random signals. This article presents a novel approach where a 2D memresistor Logistic Map is created by coupling a discrete memresistor (DM) model with the existing Logistic Map, and numerical experiments were conducted to study its complex dynamics, which are dependent on system parameters. The results of this study indicate that using the DM increases the complexity of chaos and generates hyper-chaotic behavior. A hardware experimental platform is developed using FPGA and DAC, and the similarity between the captured phase trajectory and numerical simulation results establishes the high accuracy and feasibility of implementing 2D-MLM using digital hardware circuits. Lastly, a speedier pseudo-random signal generator, running at 64 Mbps and based on 2D-MLM, is designed. The proposed method outperforms existing approaches in terms of generating faster pseudo-random numbers.

As an effective clean energy source, lithium battery (LIB) has been widely applied in practical engineering. Thus, it is very meaningful to estimate the remaining useful life (RUL) of LIB, so that the reliability of engineering can be guaranteed. However, the limited degradation data of historical LIBs may lead to inaccurate result of RUL prediction. In this article, we propose an extreme learning machine swarm and Wiener process based transfer learning model (WP-ELMS- TL) to settle this trouble. Firstly, we utilize the two-phase WP model to expand the dataset of historical LIB. Based on the expanded dataset, a training strategy of repeated training and optimal selection is proposed to obtain the ELMS. Then, a novel strategy of TL is put forward to promote the accuracy of ELMS in predicting RUL. We illustrate two experiments of RUL prediction, where a simulated experiment is used to display the algorithm flow of our WP-ELMS-TL model, and a practical example is put forward to verify the feasibility of our WP-ELMS-TL model in practical engineering. By comparing with other available models, the superior of our WP-ELMS-TL model in generality and accuracy has been proved.

Bearings are critical to mechanical systems, impacting reliability, safety, and efficiency. Traditional fault detection methods relying on vibration signal sensors face challenges with multi-scale, nonlinear, and noisy data, affecting performance and accuracy. This paper presents WaveFA-Net, a deep neural network integrating multi-resolution decomposition, frequency attention, multi-domain blind deconvolution, and attention mechanisms to improve diagnostic accuracy. The process begins with applying a discrete wavelet transform (DWT) for multi-resolution decomposition, extracting and refining key features. Next, frequency attention and multi-domain blind deconvolution are employed to isolate critical components. The multi-head and multi-scale attention mechanisms are then incorporated into the network ' s backbone and neck modules to capture global dependencies and multi-scale information. Finally, a physically inspired loss function, data augmentation, and hyperparameter optimisation are applied to reinforce robustness and stability. Experimental results demonstrate that WaveFA-Net performs well across varying signal-to-noise ratios (SNR), proving its effectiveness in complex environments. © 2024 IEEE.

This work studies the electromagnetic interference (EMI) performance of Silicon Carbide (SiC) Schottky barrier diode in the Cockcroft-Walton voltage multiplier (CWVM). It's compared with Silicon (Si) fast recovery diode based on the time-domain waveforms and frequency-domain spectra. The experimental result shows that the EMI in SiC-based CWVM is more severe than the Si-based from frequency over 300 kHz. However, with stage numbers of CWVM increased to 6, EMI levels of both circuits are similar. © 2022 IEEE.

In this research, the closing arc and the bouncing arc are studied with transient MHD model. A transient self-consistent model is established using the dynamic meshing technology. The simulation results show that the ion density decreases significantly with the expansion of the arc column. As a result, the energy flux from the arc to the anode center decreases gradually as a power function. Since the energy flux is very high at the arc ignition, the anode temperature increases significantly at first. Then the maximum anode temperature begins to fall due to the decrease of the maximum energy flux.

This article investigates the problem of circumnavigation of multi-agent system with a second-order integrator dynamic model, and drive agents enclose around a moving target with desired speed and orbit radius. Unlike the mostly nowaday researches, this article promotes a second-order control law rather than first-order to directly control the agents’ accelerated velocity. A fully-actuated system approach is applied to simplify the nonlinear matters, and a rigorous proof is given for the validity of the control law. Finally the simulation is then performed to verify the feasibility of the proposed method.

Characterization of Hot Workability of a Cr-Co-Ni-Mo Ultra-high Strength Stainless Steel: An Improved Hot Processing Map

The Cr-Co-Ni-Mo ultra-high strength stainless steel (UHSSS) was developed for the next generation of aircraft landing gear due to its excellent mechanical properties and corrosion resistance. The hot workability of this UHSSS was studied through single-pass hot compression tests with a strain rate range of 10−3-10 s−1 and a temperature range of 950-1150 °C. A strain-compensated Arrhenius-type constitutive equation was established to relate temperature, strain rate, and strain to flow stress. Based on dynamic material model and the instability criterion, a 3D strain-layered hot processing map and an improved lnZ (Zener-Hollomon parameter) vs. strain hot processing map were developed for strains of 0.2-0.8, determining the range of lnZ is from 25 to 31, depending on different strains as the optimized processing parameters. The optical microstructure observed in the characteristic regions of the hot deformation map indicates that dynamic recrystallization (DRX) serves as the dominant deformation mechanism. Instability exhibits strain independence, peaking in the high lnZ region. Characterize the hot workability using the improved hot processing map which can consider the synergistic effect of strain rate, temperature, and strain.

This work investigates the issue of discrete-time bipartite flocking control for Cucker-Smale model subject to cooperation-competition interations and lossy links. The data packets loss from the controller to the actuator are simulated as a Bernoulli distribution process. The cooperation and competition among individuals are described as a signed digraph. Based on the products convergence approach of infinite sub-stochastic matrices, a algebraic condition which is related to initial states, the topological structure and the successful information transmission rate is established, so as to achieve bipartite flocking. At last, the theoretical result is exemplied through numerical simulations.

Distributed Guaranteed-Performance Consensus of Networked Systems Without Involving the Feasibility Condition: A Hierarchical Algorithm

This paper utilizes a hierarchical algorithm to focus on the distributed guaranteed-performance consensus problem of multiagent systems subjected to communication faults. With this algorithm, the consensus problem can be transformed into the tracking problem of agents in adjacent layers, and the constraint range for tracking errors does not depend on the Laplacian matrix of the communication topology. Compared to the existing hierarchical algorithm, a fault-tolerant compensation approach is designed to solve the communication fault between agents. Furthermore, the hierarchical rules are redefined according to the physical significance of topological weights, which enhances the rationality of the partition results. In addition, a shifting function is designed and incorporated into the conventional prescribed performance control approach to eliminate the existing feasibility condition. Based on Lyapunov theory, the sufficient conditions for the boundedness of all signals in the closed-loop system are derived. Finally, two simulation examples verify the efficacy of the scheme. © 2013 IEEE.
