A comparative study of four nonlinear dynamic methods and their applications in classification of ship-radiated noise

Refined composite multi-scale dispersion entropy(RCMDE),as a new and effective nonlinear dynamic method,has been applied in the field of medical diagnosis and fault *** this paper,we first introduce RCMDE into the field of underwater acoustic signal processing for complexity feature extraction of ship radiated noise,and then propose a novel classification method for ship-radiated noise based on RCMDE and k-nearest neighbor(KNN),termed *** results of a comparative experiment show that the proposed RCMDE-KNN classification method can effectively extract the complexity features of ship-radiated noise,and has better classification performance under one and two scales than the other three classification methods based on multi-scale permutation entropy(MPE)and KNN,multi-scale weighted-permutation entropy(MW-PE)and KNN,and multi-scale dispersion entropy(MDE)and KNN,termed MPE-KNN,MW-PE-KNN,and *** is proved that the RCMDE-KNN classification method for ship-radiated noise is feasible and effective,and can obtain a very high recognition rate.

In this paper, a multi-kernel principal component analysis (MKPCA) method for quality-related fault detection is proposed. The initial space is firstly mapped to a new space. The correlated information between the new space and output quality is then obtained by the kernel function. Meanwhile, with consideration of the advantage of global function and local function, a weight factor which combines them together is introduced to construct a multi-kernel function. In this way, the algorithm achieves better learning ability. The new space is projected to two mutually orthogonal subspaces, i.e., quality-related part and quality-unrelated part. In each subspace, fault information is expressed by different statistical indicators. The numerical example is presented to evaluate the performance of the MKPCA. The results show better reliability and high fault detection rate through proper spatial decomposition and kernel function construction. © 2022 IEEE.

As the basic construction of flexible mechanical systems, the flexible beam and its control problem have attracted widespread attention in recent years. This paper takes a flexible beam with pneumatic soft actuators (FBPSA) as the research object and studies its phenomenological modeling and end-point trajectory tracking control strategy. Firstly, we develop an experimental platform for the FBPSA and perform tests on it, gathering its input and output data. Using these collected data, we analyzed the motion characteristics of the FBPSA. Subsequently, a phenomenological model is established to describe the motion characteristics of the system, and the parameters of this model are identified through a large amount of the collected experimental data. Then, a combined feedforward-feedback control strategy is proposed to achieve the end-point trajectory tracking control of the system. Finally, three sets of experiments are carried out to verify the accuracy of the established model and the effectiveness and superiority of the control strategy.

In order to effectively utilize the wind energy, the max power point tracking (MPPT) control method has been extensively used in the wind power system. The MPPT control in the wind power system is actually to control the power electronic converters connected with the wind turbine. However, due to the existing of the power switching devices, the converters were the typical nonlinear system. The traditional linearization modeling methods of the converters cannot represent the working process of the system accurately and the control strategies based on the linearization model of the converters only guarantee the satisfactory performance of system near the predefined working point. They were not suitable to the wind power MPPT system, which has the variable wind speeds and the variable max power points. This paper proposes a power switching control method based on a novel power switched model of the wind power MPPT system with Boost converter. The main contributions of the work are: (1) The proposed power switched model realizes the accurate description of the converter working process, which directly focus on the power states of the wind power system. (2) The proposed switching control method realizes the direct power switching control of the converter of the wind power MPPT system. The merits of the proposed method are simple control structure, no control parameter, no pulse width modulation block and strong robustness under circuit parameters uncertainty. The simulation results verify the effectiveness and the superiority of the proposed methods. © 2022 IEEE.

Dielectric elastomer sensor (DES) is a flexible sensor that can perform free bending deformation, thus it has broad application prospects in the fields of medical electronics, wearable devices, soft robots, etc. Previous studies have mostly focused on exploring the static sensing characteristics of the DES. Considering that the DES may be used in dynamic conditions, it is very meaningful to study its dynamic sensing characteristics to broaden its application ranges. In this paper, a dynamic sensing model of the DES is established based on the gate recurrent unit (GRU) neural network. Firstly, the structure of the DES and the construction of the experimental system are introduced. In addition, the dynamic sensing characteristics of the DES are analyzed by conducting several sets of experiments, which shows that the DES has significant rate-dependent hysteresis nonlinearities, multivalued mapping and memory characteristics. After that, the dynamic sensing model of the DES is built based on the GRU neural network to describe the above dynamic sensing characteristics. Next, the dynamic displacement and force sensing models of the DES are trained according to the dynamic displacement-capacitance and dynamic force-capacitance experimental data, respectively. Finally, several experiments are performed to verify the effectiveness and generalization ability of the established dynamic sensing model.

This paper focuses on the problem of stability analysis for Takagi-Sugeno systems with time-varying delays. Firstly,a suitable Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional(LKF) containing fuzzy line-integral Lyapunov functional is constructed, which can introduce membership functions information while avoiding emerging the time-derivatives of membership functions. Then, a generalized free-matrix-based integral inequality is applied to estimate the derivative of the LKF. As a result, a less conservative stability criterion is obtained. Finally, a numerical example is carried out to illustrate the effectiveness and merits of our method.

Changes in coal seam hardness cause fluctuations in the feed resistance at the drill bit during the drilling process, leading to unstable feeding speed. This paper proposes a robust dynamic output feedback controller to suppress disturbances caused by the variations in coal seam hardness in the feed system. Firstly, an unknown parameter measuring coal seam hardness is introduced, and an uncertain model of the feeding system is established based on the finite element model of the drill string. By designing weighted functions based on industrial field requirements and constructing a generalized plant, the controller achieves loop shaping, reducing the low-frequency impact of coal seam hardness variations on the feed system and suppressing the systems resonance peak. Simulation results demonstrate that the controller effectively suppresses parameter variations and external disturbances caused by changes in coal seam hardness, achieving stable control of the drilling speed. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper concerns with the exponential stability of delayed neural networks via Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional(LKF) method. Initially, an improved augmented delay-product-type LKF containing an additional double integral state is established, which introduces more delayed states and has less conservatism. In the LKF's derivative, the function has high order of delay due to the existence of exponent. Thus, in order to obtain tractable linear matrix inequalities, three state vectors are used to reduce the order of the function to cubic. Secondly, to achieve the negative-definiteness requirement, a negative-determination lemma for cubic functions with less conservatism is employed. Then, a less conservative delay-dependent stability criterion for neural networks with time-varying delays is established. Finally, the validity of the proposed delay-dependent stability criterion is illustrated by two numerical examples.
