The fluxgate sensor is the most widely used sensor in vector magnetic measurement. However, during long-term continuous observation, the fluxgate sensor will produce large measurement errors due to changes in ambient temperature. This paper proposes a temperature calibration method for the fluxgate sensor based on polynomial fitting to address the temperature error of fluxgate sensors. First, the effect of temperature on the performance indicators of the fluxgate sensor was analyzed. Second, according to the existing temperature-magnetic field data, a temperature calibration model of the fluxgate sensor was constructed. And compared it with other temperature calibration method, the result shows that the proposed temperature calibration method is relatively simple and can better achieve real-time calibration for sensor application scenarios. Finally, to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method, numerous laboratory experiments were implemented. The temperature drift was reduced from about 700 nT before calibration to about 1 nT, root mean square error RMSE=11.7189, indicating that the proposed method has a good temperature calibration effect on the data measured by the fluxgate sensor within the variable temperature background. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

A Many-Objective Evolutionary Algorithm Assisted by Ideal Hyperplane

In many-objective optimization problems (MaOPs), it is a difficult task for evolutionary algorithms to balance convergence and diversity while rapidly converging to the Pareto front. As the number of objectives increases, the difficulty of evolutionary algorithms increases with individual selection pressure. To address above problems, we propose a many-objective evolution algorithm assisted by an ideal hyperplane (MaOEA-IH). Firstly, the ideal hyperplane as a reference surface to guide the individual to search the Pareto front, which is established from the extremum of each dimension of the objective space. Secondly, a parallel p -norm mating selection strategy is proposed to improve convergence. In addition, two factors are considered in this strategy: 1) different p -norm are used to measure different spatial scales;2) individual selection uncertainty is defined by incorporating a probabilistic perturbation mechanism. Thirdly, the improved shift-based density estimation strategy is used as the evaluation criterion for environmental selection to improve the convergence and diversity of solution sets and enhance selection pressure. To verify the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm, MAOEA-IH is compared with seven excellent algorithms in three benchmark sets (DTLZ, WFG and MaF). The results show that the proposed MAOEA-IH is highly competitive in solving MaOPs. © 2022, The Authors. All rights reserved.

The design of a new fiber optic sensor for measuring linear velocity with pico meter/second sensitivity based on Weak-value amplification

We put forward a new fiber optic sensor for measuring linear velocity with picometer/second sensitivity with Weak-value amplification based on generalized Sagnac effect [Phys. Rev. Lett.93, 143901(2004)].The generalized Sagnac effect was first introduced by Yao et al, which included the Sagnac effect of rotation as a special case and suggested a new fiber optic sensor for measuring linear motion with nanoscale sensitivity. By using a different scheme to perform the Sagnac interferometer with the probe in momentum space, we have demonstrated the new weak measure protocol to detect the linear velocity by amplifying the phase shift of the generalized Sagnac effect. Given the maximum incident intensity of the initial spectrum, the detection limit of the intensity of the spectrometer, we can theoretically give the appropriate pre-selection, post-selection and other optical structures before the experiment. Our numerical results show our scheme with Weak-value amplification is effective and feasible to detect linear velocity with picometer/second sensitivity which is three orders of magnitude smaller than the result ν=4.8 × 10-9 m/s obtained by generalized Sagnac effect with same fiber length. © 2021, CC BY.

This paper concerns robust stabilization for a class of nonlinear systems with uncertainties and disturbaces. The equivalent-input-disturbance(EID) approach is utilized to estimate the influence of nonlinearities and exogenous disturbances on the output of the system. A robust stability condition is derived in terms of linear matrix inequalities. Moreover, two parameters are used to tune the robustness of the system. Simulation results show that it is more effective to stabilize the system using the developed method than using the sliding-mode control(SMC) method.

To address shortcomings of ICP algorithm, which is sensitive to the initial position and easy to fall into local optimum, we propose a Harris Hawks Optimizer (HHO) point cloud registration method combining PCA preprocessing and parallel population initialization. The PCA method is used to align the point clouds with the main axes and perform the main axes correction. Since the six input variables in the population initialization stage of HHO point cloud registration are different and independent, the initial population of HHO algorithm is initialized by the parallel initialization method. The results show that the improved algorithm is able to successfully overwhelm the fault of ICP algorithm, and its global seek performance and optimization accuracy are more advantageous, and the algorithm operates efficiently, with high registration accuracy and robustness.

Recently, weak value Aw derived in the pre- and post-selected weak measurement has been shown to be powerful in measuring minute physical effects. In principle, the decrease in the post-selection probability will increase the sensitivity. Besides, the sensitivity which characterizes the pointer position shift is proportional to the real part of Aw, and the sensitivity which characterizes the pointer shift in momentum space is proportional to the imaginary part of Aw. However, we find that the relationship between the post-selection probability and the sensitivity is true when Aw is a purely real number or a purely imaginary number. The plural Aw will lead to the abnormal behavior where the decrease in the post-selection probability reduce the sensitivity at certain pre- and post-selection. In addition, considering the device imperfections and the environmental instability in the WVA protocol, this anomaly raised from plural Aw will reduce the sensitivity and generate a systematic error of the measurement compared with the original scheme. Finally, three feasible methods are proposed to reduce these negative effects when the weak measurement inevitably changes into measurement with a plural weak value. © 2021, CC BY.

This paper discusses delay-induced feedback stabilization of second-order systems in the noisy environment. With the help of the Lyapunov-Krasovskii theorem and the Taylor expansion with integral, the mean square and almost sure exponential stability criteria for the close-loop linear dynamic systems based on the delay and noisy feedback control are established in terms of the simple linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). It is revealed that if the velocity measurement is unavailable, we can use the position measurements with a small delay to stabilize the original system even in the noisy environment. Some simulations are introduced to illustrate the delay-induced stabilizability criteria.

In public roads, autonomous vehicles (AVs) face the challenge of frequent interactions with human-driven vehicles (HDVs), which render uncertain driving behavior due to varying social characteristics among humans. To effectively assess the risks prevailing in the vicinity of AVs in social interactive traffic scenarios and achieve safe autonomous driving, this article proposes a social-suitable and safety-sensitive trajectory planning (S4TP) framework. Specifically, S4TP integrates the Social-Aware Trajectory Prediction (SATP) and Social-Aware Driving Risk Field (SADRF) modules. SATP utilizes Transformers to effectively encode the driving scene and incorporates an AV’s planned trajectory during the prediction decoding process. SADRF assesses the expected surrounding risk degrees during AVs-HDVs interactions, each with different social characteristics, visualized as two-dimensional heat maps centered on the AV. SADRF models the driving intentions of the surrounding HDVs and predicts trajectories based on the representation of vehicular interactions. S4TP employs an optimization-based approach for motion planning, utilizing the predicted HDVs’ trajectories as input. With the integration of SADRF, S4TP executes real-time online optimization of the planned trajectory of AV within low-risk regions, thus improving the safety and the interpretability of the planned trajectory. We have conducted comprehensive tests of the proposed method using the SMARTS simulator. Experimental results in complex social scenarios, such as unprotected left-turn intersections, merging, cruising, and overtaking, validate the superiority of our proposed S4TP in terms of safety and rationality. S4TP achieves a pass rate of 100% across all scenarios, surpassing the current state-of-the-art methods Fanta of 98.25% and Predictive-Decision of 94.75%. Copyright © 2024, The Authors. The occurrence of landslide is uncertain, and its surface displacement data is an important physical quantity reflecting the occurrence process of landslide. Therefore, we propose a visual based small displacement landslide surface displacement monitoring method. The method uses binocular stereo vision technology to monitor small slow landslides, and through image preprocessing, feature extraction, three-dimensional coordinate solving and other methods to solve the displacement of the marker body, so as to achieve the purpose of obtaining the displacement of the landslide surface. The experimental results show that the method has small measurement error, low cost and easy implementation. © 2019 IEEE.

A new type of weak signal detection system that combines the memristor and Van der pol-Duffing chaotic system has been proposed in this paper, and the dynamic characteristics of the system are studied. It is observed that the system can change from a chaotic state to a periodic state under different driving force amplitudes. Moreover, as compared with several classical chaotic oscillators, the numerical simulation results show that the system has stronger anti-noise performance with the detectable signal-to-noise ratio reaches -163dB, and has a wider detection range. Its detection accuracy is up to 1 × 10−9. More importantly, this paper provides the circuit implementation scheme of the system, and the weak signal can be detected with our designed circuit. This may offer a possible way for weak signal detection system with good performance in anti-noise performance, detection range and accuracy. © 2021, CC BY.
