The rise of network function virtualization (NFV) technology makes the realization of network function change from hardware middleware to virtual network function (VNF). The existing methods allocate fixed resources to each VNF instance, but this resource allocation method will cause resource waste, which will affect the quality of service. The resource requirements prediction model solves the resource allocation problem by predicting the change of resource requirements. In this paper, deep learning is used to solve the regression prediction problem, and a VNF resource requirements prediction model based on convolutional neural network (CNN) and gated recurrent unit (GrU) is proposed. Compared with other single model and combined model, the experimental results show that the prediction error rate of the proposed model is reduced by 23.3%. © 2022 Association for Computing Machinery.

With the advent of the "Internet +"era, various network media have developed rapidly, and network communication methods have emerged one after another. The development of social networks has further expanded the environment for public opinion dissemination. Therefore, the study of the psycho-logical factors of network users' dissemination of public opinions on the basis of new social networks has become a research hotspot in the field of cyberspace security. By analyzing the characteristics of the representative Weibo social network platforms in china, this paper summarizes classic dissemination mode of information in social networks. Based on the existing user information behavior theories and classic user information behavior models, the study analyses the factors that affect the information dissemination behavior of network users. Finally, we make an outlook on the network public opinion under the new situation. Our study is of great significance for social platform information construction, user information acquisition, and network public opinion management under the new Internet situation. © 2022 IEEE.

SecMVX:Analysis on the Vulnerability of Multi-Variant Execution

As an active defenses technique,multivariant execution(MVX)can detect attacks by monitoring the consistency of heterogeneous variants with parallel *** with patch-style passive defense,MVX can defend against known and even unknown vulnerability-based attacks without relying on attack feature ***,variants generated with software diversity technologies will introduce new vulnerabilities when they execute in ***,we analyze the security of MVX theory from the perspective of formal *** we summarize the general forms and techniques for attacks against MVX,and analyze the new vulnerabilities arising from the combination of variant generation *** propose SecMVX,a secure MVX architecture and variant generation *** evaluations based on CVEs and SPEC 2006 benchmark show that SecMVX introduces 11.29%of the average time overhead,and avoids vulnerabilities caused by the improper combination of variant generation technologies while keeping the defensive ability of MVX.

Network View and Cognitive Mechanism for Virtual Network resource Management Based Intelligent

Network virtualization has been a particularly important driving force behind the development of NGN. Finding effective ways to control self-adapting virtual networks has become a research hot spot. This paper tries to find an efficient way in combining dynamic resource sensing with traffic character and requirements in virtual network, based on that an intelligent cognition based virtual network resources management model has been put forward. We design a network topology view by coloring network topology matrix with current resources model. We present an intelligent virtual resource management mechanism based on the proposed network topology view. Experiment results illustrate that the proposed mechanism can improve VN capacity by automatic resource adjust-ment, which can obtain high utilization of VN resources without increasing computational expenses.

The next generation of wireless technology, 6G, will likely incorporate advanced technologies such as extremely large-scale antenna arrays (ELAA) and millimeter wave (mmWave) communication. These cutting-edge features have the potential to revolutionize the way we communicate wirelessly, near-field communication (NFC) can not be ignored in future 6G mobile networks. Compared to far-field communication, the waves that propagate in the near-field region have a spherical wavefront. By utilizing the time agile of dMA and the correlation between near-field guidance vectors, we propose a novel channel estimation algorithm. Compared with the classic two-dimensional (2d) multiple signal classifier (MUSIC) algorithm, this algorithm effectively reduces computational complexity and ensures estimation accuracy. Simulation results show that the proposed channel estimation scheme achieves the expected results. © 2023 IEEE.

As a fundamental problem in the field of the network science,the study of topological evolution model is of great significance for revealing the inherent dynamics and mechanisms of complex network *** order to study the influence of different scales of preferential attachment on topological evolution,a topological evolution model based on the attraction of the motif vertex is *** the perspective of network motif,this model proposes the concept of attraction of the motif vertex based on the degree of the motif,quantifies the influence of local structure on the node preferential attachment,and performs the preferential selection of the new link based on the Local World *** simulation experiments show that the model has the small world characteristic apparently,and the clustering coefficient varies with the scale of the local *** degree distribution of the model changes from power-law distribution to exponential distribution with the change of *** some cases,the piecewise power-law distribution is *** addition,the proposed model can present a network with different matching patterns as the parameters change.

Network Function Virtualization (NFV) is proposed as new technology to address massive proprietary devices, high operation costs, poor flexibility and other problems in current traditional network. By separating network functions and proprietary devices, NFV can significantly reduce operation costs and enable flexible configuration of services, etc. Now NFV is widely used in various fields. However, due to virtualization and softwareization and other technical characteristics, NFV faces more serious security threats compared to traditional networks. This paper focuses on analyzing the NFV security threats under the new technology and summarizes them according to the causes of security threats. Subsequently, based on the results of the analysis, we propose the corresponding safety practice solutions. Finally, we prospect the research directions for improving NFV security. © 2023 IEEE.

Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerabilities continue to pose a formidable challenge in the realm of web application security due to their prevalence. despite the development of various defense mechanisms, including input validation techniques and code differentiation strategies, these solutions have struggled to achieve broad adoption in real-world environments due to persistent issues such as unreliable detection, high computational overhead, scalability limitations, and compatibility concerns. This paper introduces a novel managed proxy-based framework for XSS defense, positioned strategically between the web browser and the web server. This framework employs a tag-based XSS protection mechanism alongside a defense-in-depth strategy, providing robust protection not only against XSS attacks but also against other web threats. Furthermore, the framework integrates advanced web front-end hardening techniques to significantly complicate the exploitation of potential vulnerabilities. Comprehensive practical evaluations indicate that the proposed framework is both flexible and effective, demonstrating outstanding performance across multiple dimensions.

As network applications are increasingly offloaded to the programmable switches, program fitting problems come to the fore, which means effectively mapping the programming entities into the hardware resources. However, existing works fail to achieve resource-efficient deployment in an acceptable time. In this paper, we present Altair, a high-performance compiler system for program optimization and resource allocation. In addition to proactively optimizing the program by reducing logical redundancy, Altair designs a two-layer framework to generate the optimal mapping solutions with respect to all the hardware constraints while minimizing resource usage. We also propose a new feedback mechanism between the two layers to make the best trade-offs among bottleneck resources and accelerate the solving process. Altair not only converts the network program into a functionally identical and compilable codes, but also uses up to 30% fewer hardware resources with at least 10X shorter execution time than state-of-the-art. © 2024, The Authors.
