Recently, many communities have published their domain knowledge in the form of graphs. A significant trend is that the relations between pairs of nodes in the graph have become so complex that these data can be treated as property graphs. Complex properties imply semantic constraints which can distinguish elements of property graph into different semantic-related aspects. If the property graph can be partitioned according to these aspects, cross-partition communication would be reduced when evaluating SPARQL queries, for the reason that a query can often be evaluated in a single aspect. Conventional graph partition methods, however, pay little attention to semantic constraints in property graphs. To solve this problem, we propose a new property graph partition method for query optimization. First, we propose the property semantic reachable path as basic partition element, with which to capture the semantic-related aspects in a property graph. Second, to combine paths into partitions, we develop a space-efficient algorithm which merges vertices rather than entire paths. Extensive experiments over representative property graph data confirm the effectiveness of our semantic awareness approach. The performance of our approach is comparable with leading competitors, in terms of load balance, data redundancy, and network overhead. © 2019 IEEE.

Exploits sequencing is a typical way by which an attacker breaks into a network. In such a scenario, each exploit lays as an atomic proposition for subsequent exploits. An attack path is seen as a succession of exploits which take an attacker right to his/her final goal. The set of all possible attack paths form an attack graph. Researchers have proposed a multitude of techniques to generate attack graph which grows exponentially in the size of the network. Hence it is preferable to optimize the choice of solutions which avoid the cost of scalability and cumbersome. In this paper, we propose a comprehensive approach to network vulnerability analysis by ranking access Petri net graph and utilizing a penetration tester's perspective of maximal level of access possible on a host. Our approach has the following benefits: it provides a simple model in which an analyst can work, its algorithmic complexity is polynomial in the size of the network, and has the ability of scaling well to large size networks. Nevertheless, it has some drawback as in place of all possible attack paths, we seek only good attack paths. An analyst may make suboptimal choices when repairing the network. © 2011 IEEE.

Asynchronous Graph Neural Network (AGNN) has attracted much research attention because it enables faster convergence speed than the synchronous GNN. However, existing software/hardware solutions suffer from redundant computation overhead and excessive off-chip communications for AGNN due to irregular state propagations along the dependency chains between vertices. This paper proposes a chain-driven asynchronous accelerator, CDA-GNN, for efficient AGNN inference. Specifically, CDA-GNN proposes a chain-driven asynchronous execution approach into novel accelerator design to regularize the vertex state propagations for fewer redundant computations and off-chip communications and also designs a chain-aware data caching method to improve data locality for AGNN. We have implemented and evaluated CDA-GNN on a Xilinx Alveo U280 FPGA card. Compared with the cutting-edge software solutions (i.e., Dorylus and AMP) and hardware solutions (i.e., BlockGNN and FlowGNN), CDA-GNN improves the performance of AGNN inference by an average of 1,173x, 182.4x, 10.2x, and 7.9x and saves energy by 2,241x, 242.2x, 12.4x, and 8.9x, respectively. © 2024 Copyright is held by the owner/author(s). Cloud computing suffers from a number of problems in terms of security *** and integrity play an important role in the security field and numerous concerns have been raised to recognizeor protect any tampering with exchanges of text between two entities(sender and receiver)within the cloud *** schemes in this area can be vulnerable to well known methods of attack such as replay attack,forgery attack,dictionary,insider,and modification attacks.A robust scheme is therefore required to detect or prevent any modification or manipulation of a message during *** this paper,we propose a new message authentication code(MAC)based on feature extraction of the user's iris in order to assure the integrity of the user's *** are extracted from the user's iris to generate a message code for each user's login and to prohibit malicious attacks such as replay,forgery and insider *** proposed scheme enjoysseveral important security attributes such as a user's one time bio-key,robust message anonymity,data integrity for a user's message,phase key agreement,bio-key management,and one time message code for each user's ***,our security analysis and experimental results demonstrate and prove the invulnerability and efficiency of our proposed scheme.

Container based microservices have been widely applied to promote the cloud elasticity. The mainstream Docker containers are structured in layers, which are organized in stack with bottom-up dependency. To start a microservice, the required layers are pulled from a remote registry and stored on its host server, following the layer dependency order. This incurs long microservice startup time and hinders the performance efficiency. In this paper, we discover that, for the first time, the layer pulling order can be adjusted to accelerate the microservice startup. Specifically, we address the problem on microservice layer pulling orchestration for startup time minimization and prove it as NP-hard. We propose a Longest-chain based Out-of-order layer Pulling Orchestration (LOPO) strategy with low computational complexity and guaranteed approximation ratio. Through extensive real-world trace driven experiments, we verify the efficiency of our LOPO and demonstrate that it reduces the microservice startup time by 22.71% on average in comparison with state-of-the-art solutions. © 2023 IEEE.

Powered by the massive data generated by the blossom of mobile and Web-of-Things (WoT) devices, Deep Neural Networks (DNNs) have developed both in accuracy and size in recent years. Conventional cloud-based DNN training incurs rapidly-increasing data and model transmission overheads as well as privacy issues. Mobile edge computing (MEC) provides a promising solution by facilitating DNN model training on edge servers at the network edge. However, edge servers often suffer from constrained resources and need to collaborate on DNN training. Unfortunately, managed by different telecoms, edge servers cannot properly collaborate with each other without incentives and trust. In this paper, we introduce PipeEdge, a scheme that promotes collaborative edge training between edge servers by introducing incentives and trust based on blockchain. Under the PipeEdge scheme, edge servers can hire trustworthy workers for pipelined DNN training tasks based on model parallelism. We implement PipeEdge and evaluate it comprehensively with four different DNN models. The results show that it outperforms state-of-the-art schemes by up to 173.98% with negligible overheads. © 2023 ACM.

With the development of semantic Web, search efficiency is becoming a challenging issue. To address this problem, we design an approach which mainly has two features. First, we explore potential semantic relationship between different objects and make full use of them to build a semantic buffer on server end, enhancing search speed. Second, we put another relatively small semantic buffer on each client so as to adapt to each individual user's interests, further improving the whole search efficiency and reducing server's load. Through testing on a practical platform, we testified that this semantic double-buffer based search approach can not only effectively reduce user's request response time, but considerably release server's load, bringing a high scalability.

With the rapid development of intelligent video surveillance system for transportation, traditional single-camera-based video analysis has become insufficient. Many researches have focused on the non-overlapping multi-camera target tracking. However, the tracking precision and the computing overhead are still big obstacles. This paper proposes a novel vehicle tracking approach for non-overlapping multi-camera targets with data fusion by using minimum cost and maximum flow method. Structured information of moving targets is extracted and associated with other information such as motion time, the topology of camera network to solve targeted vehicle tracks. Besides, to improve the performance of the process, a parallelization algorithm for camera network topology partitioning is presented, which makes it possible for each sub-graph to track target independently in parallel. The experiment results show that the presented approach is able to perform target vehicle tracking analysis with high efficiency and accuracy.

Many grid middleware such as Globus Toolkit and GPE have started to support virtual machines. They implement the remote control of virtual machine by grid service and make use of virtual machinespsila function of quick deployment to construct the execution environment of grid application fast. In order to support virtual machine in grid environment, VMgrid (Virtual Machine grid) is presented. All services in VMgrid are implemented based on secure shell host protocol (SSH) while Globus Toolkitpsilas Virtual Workspace is on WSRF. This paper gives a clear description of VMgrid. Some comparisons with Globus Toolkitpsilas Virtual Workspace in performance are made in this paper. Performance results show that VMgrid virtual workspace atomic services are more effective than that of Globus.
