The curing formula is vital to the performance of epoxy resin impregnated paper (RIP) material. This work explored the effect of curing agents and accelerator contents on the thermal and electrical properties of RIP material. It was found that the RIP material cured with 1phr accelerator has the optimal glass transition temperature, electrical conductivity, dielectric loss and DC breakdown strength compared with RIP material cured by 0.5phr, 2phr, and 3phr accelerator. The RIP material cured with MEHHPA has better thermal and insulating properties compared with the RIP material cured with METHPA. The existence of the crepe paper amplifies the influence of accelerator and curing agent for the hydroxyl groups affect the curing process as well as the chain segment arrangement. This study provides the research support for the design of the curing formula for RIP insulation used in DC bushing. © 1994-2012 IEEE.

The GaN HEMT offers fast switching and low on-state resistance which makes it ideal for applications such as high efficiency and high power density power supplies. Unfortunately, the low threshold voltage makes GaN HEMT extremely vulnerable to false turn-on, which compromises the performance and potentially causes shoot-through. In the half-bridge circuit topology, the resonant circuit formed by the parasitic inductance and capacitance can trigger false turn-on with a fast commutation. A practical method to avoid this phenomenon is to apply a negative bias voltage during the commutation by either using a separate power supply or using a capacitor charge pump to produce the negative turn-off bias. The first method necessitates many extra components and the second method cannot provide a fixed negative voltage. This paper rectifies these issues by proposing a negative turn-off bias generator with a new charge pump based approach which offers a stable negative turn-off voltage under different switching frequencies and duty cycles. The proposed circuit has been practically implemented during experimental testing. These results demonstrate that false turn-on events are eliminated without compromising the high-frequency and highspeed characteristics of the GaN HEMT.

The uncertainty of renewable energy sources has aroused the interests in depicting the ability of power systems to accommodate the variations. Loadability set is one of the typical methods to characterize the feasible sets of power systems with uncertainties. The existing literature on loadability set do not incorporate intertemporal constraints, while for some cases like security check, intertemporal constraints are necessary and important. This paper firstly adapts loadability set to security check, enabling it to depict the capability of power systems to accommodate load variations. Singular value decomposition (SVD) and progressive vertex enumeration (PVE) are introduced to lighten the computational burden caused by multiple periods. The computational time can be traded off with the precision of approximation to the loadability set. Case studies verify that the loadability set can be approximated with proper precision.

Attention to efficient and cost-effective utilize of energy has become a common view in the energy sector. A variety of microgrid energy management systems are developed and installed to achieve the goal. However, the performance of the microgrid energy management system depends on some factors, such as forecast uncertainty, measurement error, and so forth. Among them, a series of handling technologies for the forecast uncertainty are the focus in this paper. It includes accuracy improvement of prediction program based on time series method, operation strategy adoption, real-time control scheme for the energy storage equipment, and proposes a robust rule to against the extreme situation as well. This not only achieves effective energy management, but also helps to avoid operation cost increasing induced by the transaction bias assessment through the improvement of energy scheduling accuracy. The effectiveness and validity of these means is verified in the constructed campus microgrids at Chonnam National University.

Hot dry rock is a new type of geothermal resource which has a promising application prospect in *** paper conducted a comparative research on performance evaluation of two eligible bottoming cycles for a hot dry rock power plant in the Gonghe *** on the given heat production conditions,a Kalina cycle and three organic Rankine cycles were tested respectively with different ammonia-water mixtures of seven ammonia mass fractions and nine ecofriendly working *** results show that the optimal ammonia mass fraction is 82%for the proposed bottoming Kalina cycle in view of maximum net power *** analysis suggests that wet fluids should be supercritical while dry fluids should be saturated at the inlet of turbine,*** maximum net power output of the organic Rankine cycle with dry fluids expanding from saturated state is higher than that of the other organic Rankine cycle combinations,and is far higher than the maximum net power output in all tested Kalina cycle *** the given heat production conditions of hot dry rock resource in the Gonghe Basin,the saturated organic Rankine cycle with the dry fluid butane as working fluid generates the largest amount of net power.

CO 2 capture is critical for achieving carbon neutrality, with amine-based absorption dominating industrial deployment for its efficiency. However, the performance of amine-based solvents deteriorates due to the accumulation of heat-stable salts (HSSs). This review systematically examines electrodialysis (ED) technology and its advanced configurations—including three-compartment ED (TED) and bipolar membrane ED (BMED)—in the context of amine solvent purification. BMED demonstrates superior performance, achieving > 95 % HSSs removal efficiency, but faces challenges such as higher energy consumption (0.04–0.08 kWh/L solvent) and membrane stability issues. The review also underscores that system performance is substantially influenced by feed composition and operational parameters, including current density and surface velocity. Economic analyses indicate that the costs associated with amine replenishment and waste treatment represent critical barriers to the widespread industrial application of ED-based amine purification technology. Future research should prioritize: (1) controlling carbamate-induced amine loss, (2) reducing BMED energy demand, (3) pilot-scale validation of membrane durability, and (4) hybrid systems to address electrically inert impurities.

With the trend of electricity market deregulation for recent decades, the consumers at demand-side are progressively encouraged to trade the power in competitive market environment. Conventionally, only large-scale consumers participate directly in the wholesale market that adopts spot energy pricing. Most small-scale consumers are involved in the retail market that offers non-varying tariff predefined by retailers or utility companies. In this work, we investigate a framework of coordinated wholesale and retail market structure that enables consumers in the retail market to reflect the spot price and improve the power system flexibility for the high penetration of renewables. Then, market behaviors of demand-side participants with the proposed market mechanism and some related business models are discussed. The following participation modes for consumers could be opted including: direct trade, trade agented by retailers or organized in virtual power plant (VPP). For a pool-based trade at demand-side, a bi-level market clearing mechanism at transmission and distribution levels is explained. This mechanism seeks to optimize the global demand profile for hosting renewables while solving the operating constraint of loads and local networks. This study can offer constructive advises to promote further development of china's electricity market. © 2019 IEEE.

During the switching operation of GIS Substation, the Transient Enclosure Voltage (TEV)and the Transient Ground Potential Rise (TGPR) will occur, which will have a negative impact on the safety of substation. In this paper, TEV and TGPR are measured and analyzed in a 750kV substation at different locations of GIS, under three types of operation of disconnect switch and circuit breaker, include: single closing of disconnect switch, single closing of circuit breaker, three times opening and closing of circuit breaker. From the results, the maximum value of TEV and TGPR is 22.8 kV and 19.6kV, respectively, and the TGPR is higher than the TEV at many measuring points; Compared with the circuit breaker closing operation, the disconnect switch closing operation produces less electromagnetic oscillation energy, but it have longer macro-pulse duration and more breakdown times, which explained that the failure of secondary system caused by the operation of disconnect switch is more than caused by the operation of circuit breaker; Three times opening and closing operation of the circuit breaker produces stronger electromagnetic energy and more breakdown than single closing operation of the circuit breaker.

Integrated generation–consumption dispatch based on compensation mechanism considering demand response behavior

Demand response(DR) is important to account for behaviors of the demand side to yield an optimal dispatch result. However, it is difficult for energy suppliers to collect customers' private information unless there is an incentive mechanism for customers to do so. Therefore,this paper proposes a new integrated generation–consumption dispatch based on compensation mechanism considering DR behavior. Firstly, in light of the dayahead load forecast data, we deduce the utility function model of different customers. By subtracting generating units' operation cost from consumers' total utility, the dispatch model has a decentralized demand participant structure based on this utility function. The utility function is used to describe consumers' preferences and energy consumption behaviors. Secondly, an effective compensation mechanism is designed to ensure customers to select the level of compensation appropriate to their willingness to curtail load. Finally, a new dispatch model is proposed that incorporates the DR compensation mechanism into the generation–consumption dispatch model. The new model can improve the interaction of generation and consumption,and benefit both the energy supplier and its customers. The proposed model is piecewise linearized and solved by a mixed-integer linear programming method. It is tested on a six-bus system and the IEEE 118-bus system. simulation results show that the proposed model can realize both maximum social welfare and Pareto optimal results.

Wavelet-based data compression for wide-area measurement data of oscillations

This paper proposes a wavelet-based data compression method to compress the recorded data of oscillations in power systems for wide-area measurement systems. Actual recorded oscillations and simulated oscillations are compressed and reconstructed by the waveletbased data compression method to select the best wavelet functions and decomposition scales according to the criterion of the minimum compression distortion composite index, for a balanced consideration of compression performance and reconstruction accuracy. Based on the selections, the relationship between the oscillation frequency and the corresponding optimal wavelet and scale is discussed, and a piecewise linear model of the base-2 logarithm of the frequency and the order of the wavelet is developed, in which different pieces represent different scales. As a result, the wavelet function and decomposition scale can be selected according to the oscillation frequency. Compared with the wavelet-based data compression method with a fixed wavelet scale for disturbance signals and the real-time data compression method based on exception compression and swing door trending for oscillations, the proposed method can provide high compression ratios and low distortion rates.
