Prevalence of HCV Antibody and its Associated Factors: A Study from Sentinel Hospitals in China

Objective The prevalence and related factors of serum anti-HCV in different regions and hospitals have not been studied extensively in China. We used routine screening data to determine the prevalence of HCV antibody in hospital patients, evaluate the epidemic trend of hepatitis C and formulate screening *** Patient information and HCV antibody testing results were collected from January 2017 to December 2019 in 77 HCV sentinel hospitals in China. Univariate and multivariate logistic regression was used to determine the characteristics and *** HCV antibody prevalence rates were distinct among patients in different departments, with a range of 0.33%–6.93%. Patients who were admitted to the liver disease-related departments(aOR =10.76;95% CI, 10.27–11.28), Internal Medicine(aOR = 2.87;95% CI, 2.75–3.00), and Department of Surgery(aOR = 1.95;95% CI, 1.87–2.04), were more likely to be tested for HCV antibody positive. HCV antibody prevalence was associated with patients aged 45 years and older(aOR = 2.74;95% CI,2.69–2.80), testing in infetious disease hospitals(aOR = 2.33;95% CI, 2.26–2.40) and secondary hospitals(aOR = 1.72;95% CI, 1.69–1.75). Patients in sentinel hospitals of the Northeast(aOR = 12.75;95% CI,12.40–13.11), the Central(aOR = 1.65;95% CI, 1.61–1.70), and the West(aOR = 1.78;95% CI, 1.73–1.83)China had higher HCV prevalence than those who were in the Eastern coastal area. Conclusion Those who were over 45 years old and saw doctors for liver diseases, and invasive diagnosis and treatment should be referred to HCV antibody testing.

Objective We aimed to understand the willingness and barriers to the acceptance of tuberculosis(TB)preventive treatment(TPT)among people with latent TB infection(LTBI)in *** A multicenter cross-sectional study was conducted from May 18,2023 to December 31,2023 across 10 counties in *** to a national technical guide,we included healthcare workers,students,teachers,and others occupations aged 15-65 years as our research *** Overall,17.0%(183/1,077)of participants accepted *** were statistically significant differences in the acceptance rate of TPT among different sexes,ages,educational levels,and occupations(P<0.05).The main barriers to TPT acceptance were misconceptions that it had uncertain effects on prevention(57.8%,517/894),and concerns about side effects(32.7%,292/894).Conclusion An enhanced and comprehensive understanding of LTBI and TPT among people with LTBI is vital to further expand TPT in ***,targeted policies need to be developed to address barriers faced by different groups of people.

HIV incidenee and risk factors among transgender women and cisgender men who have sex with men in two cities of China:a prospective cohort study

Background:HIV epidemic among men who have sex with men(MSM)remains a major public health concern in *** a growing body of research on transgender women worldwide,little is known about chinese transgender women within *** sought to estimate HIV incidence and distinguish risk factors of HIV acquisition among them from that among cisgener(non-transgender)MSM(cis-MSM).Methods:We conducted an open cohort study among chinese MSM,including those who were identifed as transgender in Shanghai and *** were initially recruited by local community-based organizations from January to June,2016,and were followed up approximately every 6 months until June *** each visit,a structured questionnaire was used to gather information on demographics,sexual risk behaviors,and HIV *** incidence was calculated as the number of seroconversions divided by total number of person-years of follow-up among HIV-negatives at *** factors of HIV acquisition were assessed by univariate and multivariate Cox regression models with time-dependent ***:A total of 1056 participants contributed 1260.53 person-years(PYs)of follow-up,33 HIV seroconversions occurred during the follow-up period,yielding an estimated HIV incidence of 2.62(95%CI 1.80–3.68)per 100 *** incidence among transgender women was 4.42 per 100 PYs,which was signifcantly higher than that of 1.35 per 100 PYs among cis-MSM,demonstrating a threefold higher odds of HIV infection than *** transgender women,those lived locally≤2 years(adjusted hazard ratio[aHR]=1.76,95%CI 1.13–2.76)and unprotected anal sex last time(aHR=4.22,95%CI 1.82–9.79)were more likely to acquire *** cis-MSM,factors associated with HIV acquisition were frequency of anal sex≥3 times in past one month(aHR=4.19,95%CI 1.06–16.47)and unprotected anal sex last time(aHR=5.33,95%CI 1.52–18.73).Conclusions:Compared to cis-MSM,transgender women were at higher risk of HIV acquisition,highlighting an urgent

Introduction:In order to enhance the effectiveness of resource allocation,regions must tailor their responses to their specific epidemiological and economic ***:Utilizing Spectrum software,we projected the cost-effectiveness of 10 chosen HIV interventions in six cities in eastern China from 2019 to *** assessed three scenarios—Base,Achievable,and Idealized—for each *** analysis included the projected number of HIV infections and deaths averted,as well as the incremental costeffectiveness ratios for each intervention in the six ***:In Shijiazhuang,Wuxi,Yantai,and Zhenjiang,cities with initially low antiretroviral therapy(ART)coverage,ART showed significant effectiveness,especially for ***,in Foshan and Ningbo,where ART coverage was notably high,oral pre-exposure prophylaxis(PrEP)for men who have sex with men(MSM)proved effective in the Idealized *** outreach,ART for males,and ART for females demonstrated cost-effectiveness across all six cities in both Achievable and Idealized scenarios at the predefined thresholds for each ***:Maintaining an appropriate coverage rate for outreach to MSM can lead to *** cities with low ART coverage,scaling up ART remains a crucial *** regions with high ART coverage,consideration may be given to the utilization of oral PrEP for MSM individuals,requiring budget allocation.
