Mobility-Aware Multi-Task Migration and Offloading Scheme for Internet of Vehicles

In Internet of vehicles, vehicular edge computing(VEC) as a new paradigm can effectively accomplish various tasks. Due to limited computing resources of the roadside units(RSUs), computing ability of vehicles can be a powerful supplement to computing resources. Then the task to be processed in data center can be offloaded to the vehicles by the RSUs. Due to mobility of the vehicles, the tasks will be migrated among the RSUs. How to effectively offload multiple tasks to the vehicles for processing is a challenging problem. A mobility-aware multi-task migration and offloading scheme for Internet of vehicles is presented and analyzed. Considering the coupling between migration and offloading, the joint migration and offloading optimization problem is formulated. The problem is a NP-hard problem and it is very hard to be solved by the conventional methods. To tackle the difficult problem, the idea of alternating optimization and divide and conquer is introduced. The problem can be decoupled into two sub-problems: computing resource allocation problem and vehicle node selection problem. If the vehicle node selection is given, the problem can be solved based on Lagrange function. And if the allocation of computing resource is given, the problem turns into a 0-1 integer programming problem, and the linear relaxation of branch bound algorithm is introduced to solve it. Then the optimization value is obtained through continuous iteration. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can effectively improve system performance.

Intermittently Connected Mobile Ad Hoc networks (ICMANs) are mobile networks in which complete source-to-destination paths do not exist most of the time. This paper proposed a Predictable Adaptive Seed Spray routing (PASS) for intermittently connected mobile Ad Hoc networks. PASS is a cost-efficient delay-bounded routing protocol without network parameters and provides acceptable and resilient service in the face of challenged environments. Simulations have shown that PASS outperforms existing schemes such as Epidemic, binary spray & wait and AMR with respect to routing cost and adaptability.

The primary issue in dynamic cloud computing environments is how to select and schedule the ideal and different cloud resources to cooperation in order to guarantee the requirements of applications. This paper proposed a novel cloud services selection algorithm for hierarchy evaluation of SLA, which is selecting the proper resources to compromise services. The service level agreement can only ensure completion of the application. Through fuzzing the SLA attribute, this paper conducted a non-deterministic evaluation on the SLA attribute data provided by cloud service providers using variable weights. Based on the relationships among different SLA attributes, a better cloud service will be selected in a Service Oriented Architecture. The experimental results show the effectiveness of the algorithm: there is no force in the relationship between sub-tasks in the case, each cloud resource and service providers can effectively reduce the cost of application based on recommendations;with the introduction of mandatory use of strong relationships and recommendation of service resources, the effectiveness of the application is ensured while reducing the total consumption of services;the right way to use fuzzy variable cloud resources involved in service evaluation will help to cut the cost of commercial cloud services and providing users with better services.

Modeling and analysis of anti-worm in P2P networks

Anti-worm is an effective way to fight against malicious worm and has been followed closely by malicious worm researchers recently. However, active and passive confronting technologies in peer-to-peer （P2P） networks have not been studied in depth. This paper introduces both of them to fight against malicious worm in P2P networks. To study their effectiveness in P2P networks, this paper takes the topology degree in P2P networks into consideration and puts forward a four-state propagation model for active anti-worm and a five-state propagation model for passive anti-worm respectively. Both of the models are simplified in the case that size of a P2P network is large enough. The simulation results have not only validated the effectiveness of our propagation models but also evaluated the excellent performance of both active anti-worm and passive anti-worm.

Distributed Deep Learning for Cooperative Computation Offloading in Low Earth Orbit Satellite networks

Low earth orbit(LEO) satellite network is an important development trend for future mobile communication systems, which can truly realize the“ubiquitous connection” of the whole world. In this paper, we present a cooperative computation offloading in the LEO satellite network with a three-tier computation architecture by leveraging the vertical cooperation among ground users, LEO satellites, and the cloud server, and the horizontal cooperation between LEO satellites. To improve the quality of service for ground users, we optimize the computation offloading decisions to minimize the total execution delay for ground users subject to the limited battery capacity of ground users and the computation capability of each LEO satellite. However, the formulated problem is a large-scale nonlinear integer programming problem as the number of ground users and LEO satellites increases, which is difficult to solve with general optimization algorithms. To address this challenging problem, we propose a distributed deep learning-based cooperative computation offloading(DDLCCO) algorithm, where multiple parallel deep neural networks(DNNs) are adopted to learn the computation offloading strategy dynamically. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can achieve near-optimal performance with low computational complexity compared with other computation offloading strategies.

BIPR: A new TCP variant over satellite networks

Standard TCP perform poorly in satellite networks since the long delay, high bit error ratio and other characters. A new TCP variant, called BIPR for satellite networks is presented in this paper. Using the binary increase of window growth function, long bandwidth-delay product can be overcome, while probe method is also adopted in BIPR for conquer the high bit error rates in satellite links. Simulation results show that good performances in terms of throughput, link utilization and RTT fairness can be achieved in satellite networks using our method. © 2011 The Journal of China Universities of Posts and Telecommunications.

An authentication and encryption scheme of network management message based on device fingerprint

With the continuous development of the converged network, the types of equipment increase and each has different device identification. The existing SNMPv3 program by using enginelD to identify equipment's legal status and confirm the security of message transmission can't meet the safety management for complex equipments in converged network. The concept of device fingerprint is proposed in accordance to specify and mark kinds of equipments in converged network with its structure defined and generation method designed specifically. The local-key generation program based on device fingerprint and the improved authentication and encryption process of network message are described. Experiment by expanding the definition of MTB and dynamically generating device fingerprint show this scheme protecting the security of network communications in the message authentication and encryption process and achieving security management for complex equipments in converged network. Finally, this study analyzes the safety and practicality of using this scheme in converged network. © 2013 Asian network for Scientific Information.

With the rapid development of e-commerce, the security issues of collaborative filtering recommender systems have been widely investigated. Malicious users can benefit from injecting a great quantities of fake profiles into recommender systems to manipulate recommendation results. As one of the most important attack methods in recommender systems, the shilling attack has been paid considerable attention, especially to its model and the way to detect it. Among them, the loose version of Group Shilling Attack Generation Algorithm (GSAGenl) has outstanding performance. It can be immune to some PCC (Pearson Correlation Coefficient)-based detectors due to the nature of anti-Pearson correlation. In order to overcome the vulnerabilities caused by GSAGenl, a gravitation-based detection model (GBDM) is presented, integrated with a sophisticated gravitational detector and a decider. And meanwhile two new basic attributes and a particle filter algorithm are used for tracking prediction. And then, whether an attack occurs can be judged according to the law of universal gravitation in decision-making. The detection performances of GBDM, HHT-SVM, UnRAP, AP-UnRAP Semi-SAD,SVM-TIA and PCA-P are compared and evaluated. And simulation results show the effectiveness and availability of GBDM.

Clustering facilitated web services discovery model based on supervised term weighting and adaptive metric learning

With the explosive growth of web services, the research on how to rapidly find the desired services becomes increasingly important and challenging. In this paper, we focus on non-semantic web services discovery and present an efficient clustering facilitated web services discovery model (CFWSFinder). Compared with the existing models, CFWSFinder has several characteristics. First, in services representing process, CFWSFinder imports WordNet and latent semantics index to represent non-semantic web services as the low-dimensional compact semantic feature vectors;Second, in services clustering process, CFWSFinder employs a modified Kernel batch self-organising map (KBSOM) neural network to minimise the services discovery duration;Third and most importantly, in services matching process, by using the category label information achieved from services clustering process, CFWSFinder can adopt supervised term weighting scheme and adaptive metric learning method to ameliorate the services discovery precision. Finally, experimental results performed on the real-world web services collection demonstrate the feasibility of the CFWSFinder. Copyright © 2013 Inderscience Enterprises Ltd.
