Weighted aggregation of information in fuzzy set theory is considered The weighted aggregation plays an important role, especially in fuzzy decision making, where the decision criteria can have different degrees of importance. The weight factors, however, can not be used with most aggregation operators such as t-norms and t-conorms that are used in fuzzy set theory. The paper introduces a general framework based on sensitivity analysis for extending fuzzy set aggregation operators to their weighted counterparts. As an example, the framework is applied to the extension of t-norms to their weighted counterparts. It is shown that some of the methods that have been suggested in literature for weighted aggregation with t-norms apply only in particular situations. Conditions are given under which the previously proposed methods are valid.

A PC platform based training simulator for personnel on anti-tank guided missile (ATOM) systems has been designed and implemented as a complex system which is controlled by instructor-trainee interaction. It makes use of object oriented simulation modelling, a 6 DOF missile model and mask modelling of terrain and weather conditions. To cope with the system complexity, both a modular design of the system and its subsystems is adopted, and an object-oriented programming is applied. A fully elaborated set of compatible models and respective software implementations for missile and moving ground target involving their interrelated kinematics has been developed. An appropriate user-system interface has been designed to enhance instructor-trainee co-operation. It is aimed both for simulation studies of anti-tank combat (ATC) using command-to-line-of-sight (CLOS) guided missiles and for training operators of such systems. An implemented hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) element in the system is the real guidance system. Sample results for an experimental session with real-world data and situation are given.

This paper considers the problem of globally asymptotic stabilization of multi-input multi-output bilinear systems with undamped natural response. It firstly presents a simple sufficient condition for construction of a static state feedback controller. Then under an additional condition on system detectability, two output dynamic feedback controllers with saturation bounded control are constructed. The globally asymptotic stability of the closed loop systems using these controllers are established by using Lyapunov stability approach.

The mouse for a personal computer is now replacing the keyboard for computer input devices, due to it's ease of use and the progress of operation systems. A mouse is easy for a nondisabled person to operate, however not so easy for a handicapped person. In particular, a cerebral paralyzed person and a proximal spine injured person often have much difficulty in dealing with a mouse or can't use it at all. However, a person with a C4 injured spinal nerve is able to bend, stretch and rotate his neck and also able to raise his shoulders because the functions of his sternodeidomastoid and trapezius muscles remain. For those people, the authors have developed an input system using neck and shoulder motions instead of manual input by a mouse. In this study, two kinds of devices using limit switches and linear potentiometers were developed and both of the results were compared. As operability has to be improved, practical usefulness for the handicapped person was confirmed. Finally, the feasibility of such systems being used for the driving wheel-chairs was examined.

As an alternative to the defuzzification a new computation method of fuzzy logic controller output is presented. In connection with this method an other procedure is proposed, which allowes to substitute also for fuzzification. It uses the same knowledge base in the form of a rule-table like the fuzzy logic controller, but without using the fuzzy logic. The proposed algorithm is simple and the results which where verified in simulation and in the real-time control as well are the same like with fuzzy logic controllers.
