In this study, we characterize GaN-HEMT devices and present both DC and AC measurement outcomes for the multi-finger configurations. Specifically, we introduce a new device featuring wide electrodes to assess and compare the performance of various multi-finger arrangements. This particular transistor comprises two fingers, each measuring 150 μm in width. We analyze and compare the s-parameters of structures with varying widths, extending our frequency range up to 67 GHz. This newly developed wide-finger configuration is integral to our ongoing efforts in developing optimized modeling approaches and improved transistor designs. The comparative analysis of different finger widths lays the groundwork for future explorations into high-frequency phenomena, including wave propagation effects and their impact on the performance of millimeter-wave transistors.

Averaging-Based Energy Management Strategy for Hybrid Battery-Ultracapacitor Energy Storage System

Considering a battery as the energy source for steady average current and an ultracapacitor as the dynamic energy buffer, this paper proposes a novel control strategy based on average current demand. The methodology averages the demand current over a time window to determine battery current, combined with rules to maintain the ultracapacitor's state of charge above 50%. However, the battery current is significantly affected by the averaging time window. A small window causes fluctuations, while a large one imposes unwanted currents to control the ultracapacitor's state of charge. As so, by optimizing the averaging window, this strategy minimizes battery current stress and power loss. Simulations under an urban driving cycle compare the proposed strategy with a sole-battery configuration, dynamic programming (benchmark), and rule-based approaches (original strategy). The simulation results indicate that the proposed strategy smooths battery currents, achieves over 75% of dynamic programming's effectiveness in extending battery life, and reduces computational burden and memory usage by over 85%. The strategy's low computational burden, and causal nature enable real-time control, which is demonstrated practically on an experimental setup. © 2025 IEEE.

The Internet of Drones (IoD) is a dynamic network architecture in which multiple drones, equipped with communication, sensing, and computation capabilities, are interconnected through Internet of Things (IoT) technologies to perform coordinated tasks autonomously. This infrastructure enables seamless real-time data exchange and collaborative operations across diverse applications, ranging from surveillance to delivery services, while ensuring adaptability, scalability, and security in dynamic aerial environments. However, the IoD introduces new security challenges, as drones are highly vulnerable to various cyberthreats and cyberattacks. Existing Intrusion Detection systems (IDS) for IoD face several limitations, including high false positive rates, resource constraints of drones, limited adaptability to evolving attack patterns, and a lack of standardized datasets for benchmarking, despite ongoing research efforts. Moreover, there is a lack of a comprehensive study that systematically consolidates existing research. In this paper, we present a systematic literature review to examine the current research area of intrusion detection systems for IoD, focusing on the effectiveness of implemented machine learning models, employed datasets, existing challenges and limitations, as well as emerging trends and future research directions. This review follows PRISMA guidelines, with peer-reviewed journal articles and conference papers selected as the inclusion criteria. Publications relevant to the topic are sourced from a range of databases, including Scopus, IEEE Xplore, scienceDirect, SpringerLink, ACM Digital Library, and MDPI, covering a 10-year period from 2014 to 2024. From an initial pool of 1,909 records, 62 relevant reports are selected to address the identified research questions. The selected studies are categorized according to publication year, venue, journal, drone domain, IDS type, utilized algorithms, datasets, attack classifications, and software environment

Nonlinear optical activities,especially second harmonic generation(SHG),are key phenomena in inversion-symmetrybroken two-dimensional(2D)transition metal dichalcogenides(TMDCs).On the other hand,anisotropic nonlinear optical processes are important for unique applications in nano-nonlinear photonic devices with polarization functions,having become one of focused research topics in the field of nonlinear ***,the strong nonlinearity and strong optical anisotropy do not exist simultaneously in common 2D ***,we demonstrate strong secondorder and third-order susceptibilities of 64 pm/V and 6.2×10^(-19)m^(2)/V^(2),respectively,in the even-layer PdPSe,which has not been discovered in other common TMDCs(e.g.,MoS2).Strikingly,it also simultaneously exhibited strong SHG anisotropy with an anisotropic ratio of~45,which is the largest reported among all 2D materials to date,to the best of our *** addition,the SHG anisotropy ratio can be harnessed from 0.12 to 45(375 times)by varying the excitation wavelength due to the dispersion ofχ^(2)*** an illustrative example,we further demonstrate polarized SHG imaging for potential applications in crystal orientation identification and polarization-dependent spatial *** findings in 2D PdPSe are promising for nonlinear nanophotonic and optoelectronic applications.

Flexible electrohydrodynamic(EHD)pumps have been developed and applied in many fields due to no transmission structure,no wear,easy manipulation,and no *** simulation is often used to predict the output performance of flexible EHD ***,this method neglects fluid–solid interaction and energy loss caused by flexible materials,which are both difficult to calculate when the flexible pumps ***,this study proposes a flexible pump output performance prediction using machine learning *** used three different types of machine learning:random forest regression,ridge regression,and neural network to predict the critical parameters(pressure,flow rate,and power)of the flexible EHD ***,angle,gap,overlap,and channel height are selected as five input data of the neural *** addition,we optimized essential parameters in the three ***,we adopt the best predictive model and evaluate the significance of five input parameters to the output performance of the flexible EHD *** the three methods,the MLP model has exceptionally high accuracy in predicting pressure and *** work is beneficial for the design process of fluid sources in flexible soft actuators and soft hydraulic sources in microfluidic chips.

Changes in coal seam hardness cause fluctuations in the feed resistance at the drill bit during the drilling process, leading to unstable feeding speed. This paper proposes a robust dynamic output feedback controller to suppress disturbances caused by the variations in coal seam hardness in the feed system. Firstly, an unknown parameter measuring coal seam hardness is introduced, and an uncertain model of the feeding system is established based on the finite element model of the drill string. By designing weighted functions based on industrial field requirements and constructing a generalized plant, the controller achieves loop shaping, reducing the low-frequency impact of coal seam hardness variations on the feed system and suppressing the systems resonance peak. Simulation results demonstrate that the controller effectively suppresses parameter variations and external disturbances caused by changes in coal seam hardness, achieving stable control of the drilling speed. © 2024 IEEE.

The recent development of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) technology has been envisioned as a promising paradigm to cater for the growing maritime activities. However, the increasing growth of marine services poses challenges for processing maritime data. In this paper, we propose a surface computing paradigm in maritime networks, in which multi-Task sensed by UAVs can be offloaded to multiple beacon stations. Multiple UAVs can process their workloads locally or offload to surface computing. Taking the system welfare and energy consumption into consideration, we present an optimization problem to determine the selection of beacon stations and the offloading decision, with the objective of maximizing the system welfare. We propose a hybrid auction and convex optimization approach to address the formulated problem. Finally, simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of our proposed algorithms compared to several baselines. © 2024 IEEE.

While third-party libraries (TPLs) are extensively reused to enhance productivity during software development, they can also introduce potential security risks such as vulnerability propagation. Software composition analysis (SCA), proposed to identify reused TPLs for reducing such risks, has become an essential procedure within modern DevSecOps. As one of the mainstream SCA techniques, binary-to-source SCA identifies the third-party source projects contained in binary files via binary source code matching, which is a major challenge in reverse engineering since binary and source code exhibit substantial disparities after compilation. The existing binary-to-source SCA techniques leverage basic syntactic features that suffer from redundancy and lack robustness in the large-scale TPL dataset, leading to inevitable false positives and compromised recall. To mitigate these limitations, we introduce BinaryAI, a novel binary-to-source SCA technique with two-phase binary source code matching to capture both syntactic and semantic code features. First, BinaryAI trains a transformer-based model to produce function-level embeddings and obtain similar source functions for each binary function accordingly. Then by applying the link-time locality to facilitate function matching, BinaryAI detects the reused TPLs based on the ratio of matched source functions. Our experimental results demonstrate the superior performance of BinaryAI in terms of binary source code matching and the downstream SCA task. Specifically, our embedding model outperforms the state-of-the-art model CodeCMR, i.e., achieving 22.54% recall@l and 0.34 MRR compared with 10.75% and 0.17 respectively. Additionally, BinaryAI outperforms all existing binary-to-source SCA tools in TPL detection, increasing the precision from 73.36% to 85.84% and recall from 59.81% to 64.98% compared with the well-recognized commercial SCA product Black Duck.
