The simulation of cropping pattern to improve the performance of irrigation network in Cau irrigation area

Cau irrigation area located in Madiun district, East Java Province, irrigates 1.232 Ha of land which covers Cau primary channel irrigation network, Wungu Secondary channel irrigation network, and Grape secondary channel irrigation network. The problems in Cau irrigation area are limited availability of water especially during the dry season (planting season II and III) and non-compliance to cropping patterns. The evaluation of irrigation system performance of Cau irrigation area needs to be done in order to know how far the irrigation system performance is, especially based on planting productivity aspect. The improvement of irrigation network performance through cropping pattern optimization is based on the increase of water necessity fulfillment (k factor), the realization of planting area and rice productivity. The research method of irrigation system performance is by analyzing the secondary data based on the Regulation of Ministry of Public Work and State Minister for Public Housing Number: 12/PRT/M/2015. The analysis of water necessity fulfillment (k factor) uses Public Work Plan Criteria Method. The performance level of planting productivity aspect in existing condition is 87.10%, alternative 1 is 93.90% dan alternative 2 is 96.90%. It means that the performance of the irrigation network from productivity aspect increases 6.80% for alternative 1 and 9.80% for alternative 2.

Road construction and upgrading projects are currently being intensively implemented in West Sumatra, and this is very important in increasing the competitiveness of the Indonesian economy. During the construction period, it will give a positive impression to be able to reduce transportation costs, use value and labour productivity. In this case, a project manager will play an important role in the success of the project. There are some opinions that a project manager will determine the likelihood of a project success, even though their projects often facing big problems. In this paper, the focus is on determining the competency component of the Road Project Manager in West Sumatra in implementing the Project Management concept that leads to project success. Based on this and in accordance with this study, the approach used in data collection and processing is a qualitative. The results of the factor analysis are shown to the experts, to establish that all of these factors are important in developing the success of the project managed by the Project Manager. The results of the factor analysis obtained 65 combined factors what has been validated by experts. In conclusion, all these factors are important in determining the performance of a Project Manager in West Sumatra.

Self-supporting method;an alternative method for steel truss bridge element replacement

Steel truss bridge often requires replacement of its element due to serious damage caused by traffic accidents. This replacement is carried out using temporary supporting structure. It would be difficult when the available space for the temporary structure is quite limited and or the position of work is at a high elevation. The self-supporting method is proposed instead of temporary supporting structure. This paper will discuss an innovative method of bridge rehabilitation by utilizing the existing bridge structure. It requires such temporary connecting structure that installed on the existing bridge element, therefore, the forces during replacement process could be transferred to the bridge foundation directly. By taking the case on a steel truss bridge Jetis Salatiga which requires element replacement due to its damages on two main diagonals, a modeling is carried out to get a proper repair method. Structural analysis is conducted for three temporary connecting structure models: 'I,' 'V,' and triangular model. Stresses and translations that occur in the structure are used as constraints. Bridge bearings are modeled in two different modes: fixed-fixed system and fixed-free one. Temperature load is given in each condition to obtain the appropriate time for execution. The triangular model is chosen as the best one. In the fixed-fixed mode, this method can be carried out in a temperature range 27-28.8° C, while in fixed-free one, the temperature it is allowed between 27-43.4 °C. The D4 is dismantled first by cutting the D4 leaving an area of 1140.2 mm2 or 127 mm web length to enable plastic condition until the D4 collapses. At the beginning of elongation occurs, immediately performed a slowly jacking on a temporary connecting structure so that the force on D4 is gradually transferred to the temporary connecting structure then the D4 and D5 are set in their place.

The economic growth of a country will be greatly influenced by road and bridge infrastructure that serves as a connecting flow of goods and human transportation. There are still some road and bridge construction projects in Indonesia that show the occurrence of accidents because lack of awareness by the management of the adverse effects of safety. Therefore, the author tries to find solutions to the improvement measures in minimizing the occurrence of occupational accidents by providing safety knowledge to the Project Managers and related staff, to be more concerned about the safety and the environment around the project. Based on data collected from the Ministry of Public Works and Indonesian People's Housing, there are several work accidents in toll road projects in Indonesia from August 2017 to February 2018. When viewed from several of these accidents, it can be concluded that the main cause is the lack of knowledge of the management staff about the need to enforce safety regulations, especially in the work of lifting object to the upper structure. Therefore, a commitment is needed to implement serious occupational safety regulations from all stakeholders who play a role in developing this infrastructure project.

Rapid and in-depth analysis for seismic risk evaluation

The high public demand on housing in urban areas requires the government of Indonesia to adopt a policy of encouraging the development of vertical housing. Cilacap has been allocated Rusunawa (low-income apartment) development in 2006. Evident from some earthquakes occurrence in recent years, however, Cilacap may be seen as an earthquake prone region which posing some risk to this type of vertical structures. The Appropriate strategy should be performed to evaluate the seismic risks of this local government owned four stories low-income apartment. This paper demonstrates two tier evaluation strategy; rapid evaluation and in-depth analysis and compares both results. First evaluation was conducted by means of Building Rapid Visual Screening (RVS) of FEMA 154 of the Rusunawa block A and B. The result was used further to calculate seismic risk score (SR) which exhibit the probability of the building damage given the Maximum Considered Earthquake (MCER) that will occur during the Rusunawa service life. The in-depth analysis was conducted by developing fragility function expressed in the form of fragility curves for the Rusunawa. The fragility shows the probability that certain damage states will be exceeded given the intensity of earthquakes which will occur during building service life. The fragility was developed as lognormal curves in which the building response to earthquake input was analyzed by means of pushover.

Analysis of slope slip surface case study landslide road segment Purwantoro-Nawangan/Bts Jatim Km 89+400

Wonogiri is a region of south eastern part of Central Java province which borders with East Java and Yogyakarta Province. In Physiographic its mostly undulating hills so that the frequent occurrence of landslides, especially during the rainy season. Landslide disaster that just happened that on the road segment Purwantoro-Nawangan / Bts Jatim Km 89 + 400 were included in the authority of the Highways Department of Central Java Province. During this time, Error analysis of slope stability is not caused by a lot of presumption shape of slip surface, but by an error in determining the location of the critical slip surface. This study aims to find the shape and location slip surface landslide on segment Purwantoro - Nawangan Km 89 + 400 with the interpretation of soil test results. This research method is with the interpretation of CPT test and Bore Hole as well as modeling use limit equilibrium method and finite element method. Processing contours of the slopes in the landslide area resulted in three cross section that slopes A-A, B-B and C-C which will be modeling the slopes. Modeling slopes with dry and wet conditions at the third cross section slope. It was found that the form of the slope slip surface are known to be composite depth 1.5-2 m with safety factor values more than 1.2 (stable) when conditions are dry slopes. But its became failure with factor of safety < 0.44 when conditions are wet slopes.

Strain is closely related to the amount of load that can be held by an object so that it experiences deflection. A change in the size or shape of an object in holding a load causing stress is called strain. Strain and stress are forces that act on an object due to loads. The distribution analysis of the strain is needed to determine the phenomena that occur in an object due to loads to facilitate the analysis of wire mesh placement modeling. This research aimed to analyze the strain and deflection values that occur due to the loading of wire mesh layer on hot asphalt mixture. Analysis of strain and deflection values which are parameters of flexural resistance was carried out using ETABS software version 17.0.1. ETABS is one of the software used to solve structural problems related to the finite element method. Based on the research results, it was found that the modeling of wire mesh layering affects the flexural resistance value, strain, and deflection that occurred. The value of strain is inversely proportional to the value of the flexural resistance and is directly proportional to the deflection. The strain that occurs from the results of the study is between 0.0313 mm/mm to 0.038 mm/mm and The amount of deflection that occurs due to loading ranges from 8 to 9.5 mm. The best modeling is obtained on a hot asphalt mixture by laying wire mesh 30 mm from the surface of the test object with the lowest strain and able to withstand a maximum load of 291.85 KN.

The high level of erosion that occur in Musi river basin has improved a tremendous impact on sedimentation in downstream areas and has resulted in many infrastructure of water is disturbed, such as silting of irrigation channels, siltation of rivers which disrupt the flow of transport stream and increasing the risk of flooding, high sedimentation in the port basin, low quality of water and the rising costs of water treatment. This study utilizes techniques terrain models Digital (Digital Elevation Model/DEM) to analysis the spatial distribution of the potential for erosion and sources of sedimentation, as well as the direction of the flow of sediment into channels as well as its relationship with outlet in branching river as the supplies to be sediment to the river flow. The method used in this study using a spatial model analysis with the help of GIS in analysing and presenting the level of erosion and deposition by utilizing modelling slope and kinetic energy of rainfall to estimate the index erosivity and distribution pattern of sediment into the river channel. This research was conducted at the upper Lematang river sub basin with area 412,638 Ha, which are classified into 11 sub-chatments with the highest altitude is 3.159 m above sea level (Dempo Valley) and the lowest is 126 m above sea level (Talang tinggi Valley). Analytical results have been tested by taking a fine sediment sampling in each sub-watershed in the analysis and is taken along the channel network and compare the observed patterns with the results predicted by the model analysis of soil erosion. Overall, erosion by high intensity tends to occur in the relationship between the different vegetation coverage, the barren land and open land used for farms and land used for mining. Approximately 45-65.5% slope bad condition because the vegetation has been open, so it can be seen the amount of erosion in the area is 2.139 ton/ha/year, at the sloping is 1.8239 ton / ha / year

The existence of aquatic plants has a significant influence on the biota living at wellspring. The osmotic pressure is significant research to understand the adaptation of the environment changing to organism physiology. This research aims to know the Osmotic Work Rate by comparing osmolarity water value to aquatic plant plasma. The research method is the descriptive analysis of laboratory test results. The water sample was taken from the seven locations of the wellspring. Osmotic work rate is taken from comparing the plasma osmolarity value of the aquatic plant to water Osmolarity. Osmotic work rate zero means osmoregulation patterns isosmotic. The osmotic work rate greater than zero implies osmoregulation patterns hyperosmotic regulatory and osmoregulation patterns hypo-osmotic regulatory if the Osmotic work rate is less than zero. The patterns are used from the seven locations of good springs are the same, osmoregulation patterns of Hyperosmotic regulatory to the environment because the plasma osmolarity of water plants is more significant than water osmolarity.
