Nowadays, The roads have increased the number of streetlights for the roads vehicles/pedestrians, which raises investment and energy. Observations made to obtain most of the road lights are always active at night, even when there are no vehicles or pedestrians on the road. The problems that occur are the waste of energy sources that are used in streetlights. This research designs the concept of intelligent traffic flow based (LED) for energy optimization, maximum efficiency. This concept uses intelligent light architecture using the LoRaWAN Mesh network. The application of this concept offers system reliability, reduces costs, and makes user satisfaction. The results of this study are demonstrated by experimenting with comparing conventional LED lights. The proposed system, resulting in 33% to 62% energy savings depending on when the usage process in streetlights. Smart lighting LEDs with LoRaWAN provide a remote-control mechanism that can be dynamically adjusted based on environmental conditions, distance, and automatic motion.

Cocoa farming households carry out various livelihood strategies to maintain their survival. The decline in cocoa production is caused by pests and diseases, climate change, bad seeds, and the farmers’ cocoa plants are old. These constraints will affect the condition of cocoa farmer households. This study aims to identify the livelihood strategies and structures carried out by cocoa farming households. The method used in this study uses a quantitative approach using a questionnaire supported by a qualitative approach through in-depth interviews. The research respondents consisted of 30 cocoa farming households in Polewali Mandar Regency. The results of this study show that the livelihood strategies used by cocoa farmer households are engineering income sources and income diversification. The average livelihood structure of cocoa farmer households comes from the non-farm sector.

This study aimed to investigate the effect of smoking process time and the distance of catfish to the heat source during smoking on the consumer preference of catfish quality. A 2x3 factorial experiment was conducted to obtain the results. For smoking process time, two levels were used i.e., 6 hours and 8 hours. Meanwhile, three levels of the distance of catfish to the heat source during smoking were tested for 50 cm, 70 cm, and 90 cm. The consumer preference for the quality of smoked catfish was obtained by using the organoleptic test for several 30 participants. The organoleptic test referred to the SNI 2725.1:2009 as issued by the National Standardization Agency of Indonesia. The results showed that the combination of 8 hours of smoking process time and 70 cm distance between catfish and heat source gave the best results for the delicacy of the smoked catfish.

Landslides are caused by natural environmental factors and cultural, environmental factors, such as changes in land use and social conditions. In the event of a landslide disaster in Pattalikang Village, the community had to start over from scratch and improve their livelihoods. This study aims to analyze: (1) the social-ecological vulnerability of landslide in Pattalikang Village; (2) disaster mitigation efforts for the people of Pattalikang Village after landslides; and (3) Strategies for improving the livelihoods of the people of Pattalikang Village after landslides from a national security perspective. This study used a qualitative approach with descriptive-analytical methods. Respondents are from the Pattalikang Village community and representatives from the head of Pattalikang village, the Regional Disaster Management Agency, the Social Service, the Agricultural Service, the Public Works and Housing Agency, and Tagana Gowa Regency. The results showed that: (1) The socio-ecological vulnerability in Pattalikang Village was categorized as vulnerable based on the scoring and weighting of socio-ecological vulnerability factors; (2) Mitigation efforts carried out were planting vetiver in every landslide-prone point and training of disaster risk reduction for community; (3) The strategy used by the communities who are victims of landslides is consolidation and survival strategy as the strength point to rebuild the communities and improving livelihoods after disaster.
