In 2016-2021, coffee consumption in Indonesia was predicted to increase by 120,000 tons, impacting the increase of coffee waste. Several large coffee industries in Indonesia are located in Taman District, Sidoarjo Regency. The character of the coffee skin waste contains 44.87% organic C; N of 1.69%; P of 0.18%; K 2.49%, and C / N ratio 10-14. This value indicates that the waste can be used as compost because it meets the criteria in SNI 19-7030-2004 concerning Compost from Organic Waste. This narrative review aims to determine the circular economy of bio compost from the coffee industry solid waste to support SDGs point 1 in alleviating poverty in communities around the Sidoarjo coffee industry. The research results showed bio compost I and II is the alternative product in the circular economy (W11). The coffee waste, coffee ground, coffee skin, and coffee returned collects waste in the circular economy (W10). The raw material composition of Bio compost I such as 1.5 kg coffee ground: 1.35 kg of coffee returned:0.15 kg coffee skin+3mL of EM4 and Bio compost II such as 4.6 kg SCG's:0. 4 kg coffee skin+5 ml EM4. In practice, the circular economy of bio compost I and II can involve Farmer Groups or Youth Organizations around the industry in Taman District, Sidoarjo Regency. Based on data 2020, the total members are 113 people, producing compost of 72,435.5 kg/month with a sales profit of IDR 36,217,750. This practice can support the first point of the SDGs, namely poverty alleviation for communities around the coffee industry. However, studies on the exact circular economy pattern of coffee waste in the Sidoarjo Regency are still needed.

Vertical (slopping)-ridge is generally applied to cultivate potato crop in tropical highland area with intensive use of non-organic fertilizer, by which the soil erosion as well as environmental degradation might be significantly accelerated. On the other hand, horizontal (contour)-ridge has been very effective to reduce the soil erosion in potato cropping field, but yet slightly ineffective to support the optimal crop production, due to the waterlogging in the ridge profile. Dimension of the horizontal-ridge is expected to affect water distribution as well as the waterlogged condition, on which a specific study need to be focused, in order to develop an appropriate drainage system on the ridge. This study was aimed to characterize the spatial distribution of soil water in the horizontal-ridge profile under various ridge dimensions. Totally 9-potato-plots of 300 x 300 cm2 with 5% slope were prepared in Serang village, Purbalingga with various dimensions and replications of the horizontal ridges: 30 x 30 x 30 cm3 (G30), 30 x 40 x 30 cm3 (G40), and 30 x 50 x 30 cm3 (G50). Of each plot, the dielectrically (volumetric)-water content of the horizontal-ridge soil within the grid of 80 x 80 cm2 at the depth of 5, 10, and 20 cm were measured every months using EC5 moisture sensors and EM50 data logger, and then averaged. Based on the given grid, the data were plotted in contour pattern and were then analysed using semivariogram (Gstat and GNUplot) to characterize the spatial distribution and variability, respectively. The results showed that the spatial distribution of dielectrically (volumetric)-water contents tended to be inter-correlated within each ridge dimension, and the data were increased with soil depth and ridge dimension increment. Accordingly, the data were spatially-correlated with sill (C, semivariance) ranged from 0.00084-0.00429 cm3 cm-3 and range of influence (a) ranged from 0.624-2.809 m, in which the G50 had most representative and stable trend of the spa

We study magnon-driven spin and heat transport in a magnetic linear junction (MLJ) formed by two ferromagnets in optical lattices linked via linearly aligned bonds. Using the Schwinger-Keldysh formalism, we uncover that under weak effective Zeeman fields, where Bose-Einstein statistics of magnons dominate, magnonic criticality dramatically enhances spin and thermal conductances. These singular transport properties depend on the junction geometry, and the transport properties qualitatively differ between the linear junction in this paper and the point contact in our previous work. The quantum-enhanced conductances result in the breakdown of the magnonic Wiedemann-Franz (WF) law. In the classical regime at temperatures much lower than magnon energy gaps, we find that a magnonic Lorenz number becomes independent of temperature yet dependent on junction geometry, sharply contrasting with the universal WF law for Fermi liquids. We also find that the interface geometry of the MLJ decouples spin and heat relaxations between ferromagnets with decay times insensitive to temperature and effective Zeeman fields. These dynamics reveal junction-geometry-sensitive magnon transport distinct from Fermi liquids, paving the way for new avenues in thermomagnetic research leveraging the tunability of cold atomic systems.

Jakarta has an essential function for Indonesia, apart from being the capital city of the country, Jakarta is also the center of the nation's economy. However, the problem of flooding that occurs every year causes enormous material and immaterial losses. One of the metropolitan areas that is often hit by floods is Bendungan Hilir Village. This village is the meeting point between the Ciliwung River and the Krukut River. One of the causes of flooding is when the water level in both rivers is high, the water from the Krukut River cannot flow, so it overflows into the surrounding area. For this reason, this study will analyze the level of flood hazard and the effect of normalization of the Krukut River. The analysis was performed using the HEC-RAS, combining 1D and 2D modeling. In the upstream part, the Krukut watershed flood hydrograph is applied for a return period of 25 years with a peak discharge of 169 m3/s, and the normal depth will be used as the downstream boundary. The modeling is carried out in two conditions, they are the existing channel and the channel after normalization. Based on the model results it is found that normalization could reduce the flood hazard of Krukut river around 75%.

The sources of aroma can be varied according to the food's type and it is part of the ingredients that has an important role to increase people interest in certain foods. However, the most popular source of aroma is rum which is not halal for Muslim community. In this research, the researcher wanted to see the effect of adding essential oil from nutmeg seeds to the addition of the aroma of cookies made from durian seed flour to see the acceptance of customers of the product innovation using nutmeg essential oil to increase the aroma of cookies or food products that usually using rum or non-halal products and seeing the long-term impact that could possibly create sustainability advantages by occupying the waste of durian seed in to flour to substitute wheat flour. This study uses an organoleptic test. The science that uses the human senses to measure the texture, appearance, aroma, and taste of a food product is called sensory or organoleptic evaluation. Assessment of appearance, taste, and texture describes consumer acceptance of a product. The results show that consumers acceptance for this product innovation well so that the control prescription that can be given for this product innovation can be continued. The second experiment got the highest response compared to the first and third experiments.

The fruit is an important element of daily food but undergoes rapid deterioration due to their high metabolic activity. The edible coating on fruit is one alternative that can be used to improve quality and prolong shelf life. The edible coating can come from microalgae with high protein content, which is Spirulina platensis. Other materials needed are glycerol as a plasticizer to increase flexibility and elasticity and surfactant, which is carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) as a thickener, stabilizer, and emulsifier. Strawberry (Fragaria sp.) was a sample fruit in this study. The condition of storage temperature is at the fridge temperature of about ± 4-7 °C. This study aims to obtain the appropriate microalgae concentration as the main ingredient in making edible coating to prolong strawberry’s shelf life. In this study, what varied are the concentration of S. platensis microalgae, which are 0,5%, 0,75%, and 1% (w/v). There are three tests carried out: protein quantification on edible coating solution, physical properties (weight loss), and chemical properties (pH and vitamin C) on fruit. Based on this study, an edible coating that has the best effect on strawberries is 1% S. platensis with lower weight loss, pH level, and higher vitamin C content up to seven days of storage. With higher protein content, the use of 1% S. platensis with the temperature of ± 4-7 °C achieved the lowest weight loss at 5.21 ± 0.09%, the lowest pH value at 3.29 ± 0.06, and the highest vitamin C content at 37.51 ± 0.78 mg/100g in strawberries in the seventh day of storage.
