PT. Krakatau Posco is steel company that produces steel and distributes its products both for national and international market. PT. Krakatau Posco produces slabs and plates steel. In meeting the requirements of the markets, the high-quality products are a necessary, thus the company should improve their product quality by reducing defects. The purpose of this study is to identify product defects and to determine the factors that cause during the production process, to propose corrective actions to reduce the number of defects. This research was conducted at Mill Line on Plate Rolling Department PT. Krakatau Posco. The research uses the Six Sigma method. Following the Six Sigma method, the result of DPMO is 568 with δ value is 4.87 which is still under the world target which is 6δ (3.4 DPMO). Proposals steps for improving the quality of plate products are doing routine maintenance and repairing of the machine, checking engine calibration conditions, improving the quality of slab material, heating slab time > 180 minutes, setting parameters (thickness, width, and length) as specified, and checking the straightness of the product plate during the rolling process (camber correction). The 2018 Sulawesi Earthquake and Tsunami severely damaged the coast of Palu City, Indonesia. The city did not have adequate mitigation system for a tsunami. A tsunami inundation map is required. This study based on modelling four scenarios of possible earthquake-induced tsunami. The earthquakes were identified based on data from PUSGEN. The generated tsunami wave is simulated using Delft3D and Delft Dashboard. The wave propagation is modeled using nesting method. This method couples different grid sizes. Nesting process helps to ensure the model efficiency and accuracy. The results provide the maximum inundation map along the Palu City Coast. These results can be used by decision maker to develop the coastal zone management of Palu City. Furthermore, they can be utilized to propose a disaster risk management plan.

Precast concrete is an answer to the demands of building structures that save time, but cannot be used widely because of the reliability of the connection, especially during an earthquake, the desired earthquake-resistant building structure must have sufficient strength and rigidity. Stiffness is one of the factors that determine the response of a structure to earthquake loads. When connected with earthquake loads, a structure must have sufficient rigidity so that its movement during an earthquake can be limited. This study aims to determine and analyze the stiffness in the double columns straight joint beam notches due to lateral cyclic load. By dividing 3 (three) types of test specimens, namely Monolithic column Beam, Type 1 Column Joint (SBK), and Type 2 Column Beam Joint (SBK). The connection used is a double straight notch and using the grouting method. Testing and analysis using the Displacement Control Method with the European Convention for Constructional Steelwork (ECCS) 1986 standards. The results showed the monolith column Column (BK) specimens have a greater stiffness value compared to SBK 1 specimens and SBK 2 specimens.

During the reign of the Dutch East Indies, the phenomenon of developing architectural designs with a diverse variety of forms filled the developmental history of early modern architecture in Malang City. The offer of various aesthetic elements in the various design included the design of public buildings to meet the increasingly complex activity of city life. The aesthetic element is a visual sign that is closely linked to the context of dynamic society development and contemporary architecture development in a particular place. The study will explore how aesthetic visual signs appear in the central zone of Malang City, with two cases of important public buildings in that location. The method used is a qualitative descriptive analysis method in which the syntagma-paradigm relation analysis model is used to find visual signs in the form of a relationship between the aesthetic elements of the building and the context involved. The results of this study show that aesthetic visual signs have a potential and a hierarchy that contributes to the diversity of designing public architectural designs of the Dutch East Indies period in the new city center zone of Malang.

The rapid growth of population, industrialization, and other activities increased with increase drinking water demands. Depok City, one of the most developing cities in West Java, require more drinking water to meet the needs of increased population. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the performance of the Legong Water Treatment at Plant by calculating and comparing the design parameters and criteria of each unit operation and processes. The research method used includes primary and secondary data collection such as field observation, measurements of unit dimensions, water quality sampling, interview, etc. The result of performance evaluation was: (i) effluent water quality analysis of surrogate parameters showed compliance upon regulation; (ii) Evaluation of each unit operation and processes vis-à-vis its design criteria indicated that flocculation and settling unit were not meet design criteria. (iii) Capacity of Legong WTP could be increased from 190 L/s up to 250 L/s; (iv) evaluation of sludge generation estimated 1763 kg/d of sludge was directly rejected to Ciliwung River without treatment.

This study aims to: 1) describe the mechanism of the level 2 IQF (the Indonesian Qualifications Framework) descriptor development for electrical engineering, and 2) formulate a set of detailed-level-2 descriptors for electrical engineering. The method used to develop the descriptors is brainstorming between the researcher and several experts from both academicians and practitioners. Meanwhile, the method to formulate the IQF descriptors for electrical engineering is literature review referring to The Indonesian National Work Competency Standard (SKKNI) and focus group discussion involving experts from academicians, Professional Certification Institute Gema PDKB, the Association of Indonesian Electrical Works (APEI), Consortium for Electrical Installation Safety (KONSUIL), and industry practitioners such as PT. LEN Bandung, PT. Bukaka Teknik Utama, PT. Schneider Electric Indonesia, and PT. Smart Energi Semesta. The descriptors are in the form of the guttman scale questionnaire. The questionnaire was then tested on limited-scale respondents. The KR 20 method was employed to examine the reliability and resulted in r11 = 0.9;thus, the guttman scale questionnaire was considered "very reliable". The respondents consisted of 8 academicians, 8 electrical engineering teachers at vocational high schools, and 8 industrial practitioners. The collected data were then analyzed descriptively. This study resulted in a set of level 2 IQF descriptors which were designed according to the taxonomy of electricity system, namely electric power transmission system descriptors, electric power distribution system descriptors, and electric power utilization descriptors. In regard to electric power transmission system, 103 out of 154 (67%) descriptors were approved by more than 80% of respondents;for electric power distribution system, 83 descriptors (75%) were approved by more than 80% of respondents;and for electric power utilization system, 61 descriptors (94%) were approved by more than 8

In this study, an interval two-stage stochastic programming (ITSP) method is proposed for regional solid waste system management system under uncertainty. The ITSP approach can incorporate random events with punishment policies when the promised allowable waste loading is exceeded. An ITSP-based solid waste system management model is developed with an objective of minimizing economic cost in landfill and waste-to-energy (WTE) facility, which include operation, transportation, expansion costs and revenue. A case study in the city of Baotou, China is developed to manage the solid waste system. Three scenarios associated with different economic incentives are employed for analyzing the optimized solutions based on the preference of decision-makers. Under scenario without subsidy, the total system cost would be from 164.13 to 234.37 million yuan, however, due to the national policy subsidies, WTE would make profit and the total system cost would be negative (e.g. from -83.15 to -17.66 million yuan). The results indicated that a higher waste flow to landfill corresponds with a higher system cost, while more wastes transported to WTE facility lead to a lower economic cost. Financial subsidies for WTE facility could compensate the system loss and promote garbage resource utilization to some extent. � 2019 Canadian Society for civilengineering. All rights reserved.
