A hydrographic survey can be a cumbersome sometimes. The data can be sparse, providing it can be costly, and it took a lot of manpower and time. Space-borne data like multispectral images can be a helpful tool towards hydrographic survey, especially in the shallow water area. The company like EOMAP and TCARTA make use of Satellite-Derived Bathymetry (SDB) as a tool and product. Would it be great if it also can be applied in Malaysia, especially on the low-risk job or survey planning? Enlarging the survey area and providing a continuous and detailed water depth information is the main objective in this research. In order to complement with convenience and cost reduction, the author used Landsat 8 '(free downloadable images)' in this research. Structuring the procedure is the central part of the process involving pre-processing and processing step until the final product obtained. In this research, the author used various kind of bathymetry algorithms such as Single-Band Algorithm (SBA), Green-Band Algorithm (GBA), and Stumpf. Moreover, the author also uses Principal Component Analysis (PCA) tool from ArcMap and Spear Relative Water Depth: Log-Ratio Transform tool from ENVI to derived bathymetry. All of this bathymetry algorithm gives out a different concept with a different statistical approach. The final result then will be compared and evaluated with Single-Beam Echosounder data (ground truth).

Development in Merauke District for the last five years run in various fields such as education, government, health, trade, and housing. This development requires good infrastructure to support related activities. One development activity that becomes the focus of Merauke District government today is the construction of Regional General Hospital which is located at Veteran Street, Nggolar Village of Merauke District. Soil sub grade in Veteran Street is clay that easily occurs due to deformation caused by passing vehicle. This research collected soil sub grade characteristic, number of vehicles, California Bearing Ratio, and traffic growth in Merauke District. Vehicle data collection through direct measurement at research location, sub-grade characteristic, and California Bearing Ratio data using Dynamic Cone Penetrometer tool, piknometer and hot plate. An analysis was performed using Pavement Design Manual 2013. The result obtained was a plastic limit of 34,72%, liquid limit of 55,8%, plasticity index of 21,07%. The potential for shrinkage is hight based on the plasticity index value, known as expansive soil. Pavement using flexible pavement with surface course composition of AC-WC as thick as 40mm and AC-BC as thick as 60mm, LPA course thickness of 40cm thus the total thickness of pavement in Veteran Road is 500mm.

This research was aimed to evaluate the synthesis of mercaptoethyl ester of palm fatty acid distillate (PFAD) where water as a byproduct was removed by using vacuum distillation and azeotropic distillation. The reactions were done in a batch reactor using para-toluene sulfonic acid (pTSA) as a catalyst. The performances of the synthesis were evaluated by measuring the sulfhydryl content and yield of the product. Compared to dehydration by vacuum distillation, dehydration by azeotropic distillation gave lower sulfhydryl content and yield but faster reaction completion. Azeotropic distillation gave sulfhydryl content and yield in the range of 6–7% and 57–74%, respectively. Vacuum distillation gave sulfhydryl content and yield in the range of 7–9% and 75–85%, respectively.

The Bridge Health Monitoring (BHM) system has become crucial for long-span bridge structures. This study aims to assess the bridge deck movement based-on GPS time series data and environmental data obtained from BHM system. The correlation and regression analysis are utilized to find out the pairwise relationship between the bridge deck movement in all directions and environmental factors as well as traffic load. The result shows the highest correlations in bridge deck vertical movements, the symmetrical oscillation in different parts of bridge deck and it also reveals the impact of air temperature change, wind velocity and traffic vehicle on bridge deck movement in all directions.

Prospective area of Solok geothermal lies in step over transtensional between two segments, Suliti and Siulak, Sumatra faults. Geological structure in this prospect area shows structural pattern controlled by 'oblique divergent strike-slip fault system' (releasing bend) as a proceed of embraced movement from Sumatra fault and establishes 'dilation zone' between those two segments, forming negative flower structure in direction of NW-SE and N-S. Aim of this research is to analyze the mechanical properties and microstructure of wear resistance steel plates joined by Submerged Arc Welding at different grooves welding. The welding current of 300 Ampere, voltage of 28 Volt and travel speed of 38 cm/min was applied. The microscopical examination methods were used for weld zones. Impact toughness and rockwell hardness test were obtained from the weld metal, heat affected zone and the base metal samples. The fracture surfaces were examined by using optical microscope. As results, there was no difference of hardness and microstructure among three grooves welding. The significant differences were detected at the weld zones. Base metal had the highest hardness value. Ferrite and pearlite phases were obtained at three weld zones, but the heat affected zone had coarser grain structure than the base metal. Weld metal volume and electrode length significantly affected the impact toughness of joint, where the larger of the weld metal volume and length of electrode fill in the groove welding, the higher of impact toughness. The lowest impact energy and toughness value were attained at V groove and the highest was at I groove. The fracture surfaces at all groove welds showed ductile fracture dominantly.

The East Kunlun Orogenic Belt(EKOB) is located at the west of the Central Orogenic System of China(Fig. 1), reserved complex and multiple tectono-magma events occurred in the past hundreds of million years as a compound continental orogenic belt(Meng et al., 2015;Yu et al., 2017;Chen etl al., 2018;Li et al., 2018;Dong et al., 2018;Pei et al., 2018). Thus the magma carried abundant ore-bearing fluid from deep of the Earth to form large-scale polymetallic deposits. For instance, deposits of Cu, Au, Pb, Zn, Ag and Ni, and provides an ideal place for studying the relationship between magmatism and metallogenesis. Overall, the tectonic evolution of the EKOB from Late Paleozoic to Early Mesozoic can be divided into three stages, i.e. oceanic crust subduction stage(277-240 Ma), syncollision stage(240-230 Ma) and post-collision stage(230-200 Ma). Crust-mantle magma mixing and mingling occurred during the whole evolution process of the paleo-Tethys Ocean. The mafic plutons are most likely derived from partial melting of metasomatic mantle wedge with subduction fluid. Most of the granites magmatites are partial-melting products of lower crust. The crust-mantle magmatic mixing in the subduction stage of the eastern part of the East Kunlun orogen not only brings mineralization materials and result in the enrichment of some elements, but also brings heat source. Blackwater is a type of domestic wastewater that must be processed before discharge into the river. This study uses gravel, sand, and charcoal as filtration materials which arranged from coarse to fine, and also wetland system using Vetiver grass (Vetiveria zizanioides) and Cattail (Typha angustifolia). The treatment process is obtained by applying different treatments related to the sand thickness and blackwater residence time in the wetland. The focus of observation is emphasized on the measurement of BOD (Biological oxygen demand) and COD (Chemical oxygen demand). Both parameters measured and compared with the standard of water for agricultural purposes (Grade IV) regulated by Indonesian Government. The results showed that stratified filters can reduce the levels of BOD and COD effectively. The final results obtained after blackwater flowed through the wetland tube shows that BOD and COD levels have yet to meet the standard of grade IV water, although the overall result indicated the significant reduction of both parameters. This can be related to the input of organic matter from wetland itself, and it also can be considered an indication that blackwater treatment requires longer residence time.
