Success in implement irrigation area management activities is highly dependent on data availability. The existence of a realtime, fast, and accurate information is very important. The data and information needed must be easily accessible to interested parties. Development of an irrigation network information system is carried out by converting data into coordinate form using ArcGIS software. Visual studio software is used to display all data that has been processed. Spatial-based irrigation network information systems built using ArcGIS and Visual Studio software can easily obtain information about channel conditions, rating curves, channel profiles and channel photos. the availability of spatial-based irrigation network information systems facilitates the management of irrigation networks.

Free vibration of orthotropic Levy-type solution plates by using SEM

Orthotropic Levy-type solution plates considering shear deformation were solved by using the Spectral Element Method (SEM). In SEM, the exact solution of structural dynamic related problems can be solved by using the frequency-dependent shape functions. The solutions of SEM are accurate in decreasing the amount of Degree Of Freedoms (DOF) to discard the cost and computational disadvantages in the Finite Element Method (FEM). This study investigates the free vibration problems of orthotropic Levy-type solution plates solutions based on the two variable Refined Plate Theory (RPT). SEM for orthotropic Levy-type solution plates in the frequency domain was formulated to solve free vibration problems. The differential governing equations of the orthotropic plate element in SEM are formulated into the form of transcendental stiffness matrices. The boundary conditions of the spectral element model consist of four edge-type DOFs at each side of the orthotropic Levy-type solution plates. The natural frequencies of the plate are calculated by means of the Wittrick-Williams procedure. The numerical investigations are presented to show the accuracy, efficiency, and effectiveness of SEM without any discretization scheme.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the amount of cost and use of time that has been used in the Improvement Project Street Alue Raya-Line Pipa Lhokseumawe City. The method that used in this study is the concept of yield value (earned value analysis) review trends in schedule variants and cost variants for a period during the project. By doing this earned value study method, evaluating the completion of the project with BPWP = IDR. 864.310.464,06, BCWS = IDR. 393.436.638,08, and ACWP = IDR. 591.235.630,69, in terms of cost variance (CV) > 0 with cost performance index (CPI) > 1 so that is obtained project completion cost (EAC) 68% of a budget plan that is IDR. 2.037.182.494,70, while from the schedule aspects the project is decreasing in time by 47% of plan or 16 weeks to be 9,45 weeks indicated value SPI > 1.

Structures constructed with materials from earth have attracted the interest of modern building designers because of many advantages that this old methodology is offering. The healthy internal climate and the low environmental footprint are the most significant advantages. In addition, there is an important asset of traditional earth block buildings in rural towns that need retrofitting to continue serving as houses. To this direction, externally bonded fiber meshes by using soil-based renderings, could provide a compatible and reversible method of strengthening. The experimental investigation of this study is focusing on constructing masonry wallet specimens with stabilized and compressed earth blocks and testing them under combined constant vertical with cycling horizontal loading, strengthened with and without externally bonded fiber meshes. Physio-mechanical characteristics of earth blocks have been determined. Two types of fiber meshes were used: glass fibers and stainless steel fibers. The bond between wall and fibers was achieved with soil-based renderings and a limited number of dowels (18) symmetrically embedded to the masonry with soil-based grout. Finally, three model walls were constructed and tested under horizontal cyclic loading sequence together with vertical normal stress of 1,1Mpa. The results showed that the strengthening methodology that was utilized was efficient and almost doubled the bearing capacity of the wall. Summarizing, it could be said that the use of earth blocks for construction purposes is a promising alternative methodology. The utilized strengthening technique proved to be efficient.

In modern era, data has become precious and important, data leak can lead to high damage to business, impact on losing profit. To avoiding those problems, organization need equip with updated security tools to protecting data and network. As computer network growing rapidly, currently security become important to prevent from attack, both from outside and inside the network. In line with that, new vulnerability grown on everyday basis and resulting increment number of intrusion and attack. Unfortunately, each intrusion and attack have a different pattern and unique behavior, continuous development and research on intrusion detection is mandatory. By statistic, in 2017 attack associated with XSS attack is grew 39% compared with 2015.

Dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) has become an endemic in major cities in Indonesia. The climate change and poor level of awareness and knowledge of the community in Indonesia have caused an increase in the DHF cases. Outbreaks on January until April 2015, the morbidity rate reached 50.75. In 1996, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) predicted threefold increase in the dengue hemorrhagic fever incidents in Indonesia by 2070, if the environment and community conditions do not improve. This study aims to provide a dynamic model to predict the dynamics of the DHF incidents based on climate variability in the Special Capital Region of Jakarta. The design of this study was ecologic study with hypothesis test, modelling, simulation, and intervention. In collecting the data, interview with respondents and measurement of climate variables were conducted. Interviews with respondents include the level of knowledge, attitudes, and behaviour (PSP) of the community. Measurements of climate factors include rainfall, temperature, humidity and CO2 level in the ambient environment. The DHF system dynamics model simulation shows that the significant effect on the decline of Breeding Places and the decrease of DHF cases were achieved by increasing the participation of the community to actively control water places that are potential for mosquito breeding places.

Solenoids have been made with square and triangular cross-sections. Both kinds of solenoids are made with an iron core and without an iron core. The solenoids specification were 12 cm long and 3.5 cm wide with 220 windings and 900 windings. The iron core specification was 12.5 cm long and 8 mm diameter. The induction voltages both of solenoids have calculated with experiments method in the laboratory. Calculation of induction voltages with the experiment method used the motor as the magnetic drive, full-wave rectifier circuit, neodym magnet, and led lamp. Induction voltage and electric current obtained of each solenoid for range from two cm until ten cm. The closest distance between the solenoid with the motor as magnetic drive and the greater the number of solenoid windings produced the greater the induction voltages. Triangular-sided solenoids with 220 windings produced faster induction voltages than the square-sided solenoid for the same number of windings. While an iron core solenoids produced faster induction voltages than solenoid without an iron core.

Some argue that complementing climate change mitigation measures with solar radiation management (SRM) might prove a last resort to limit global warming to 1.5 °C. To make a socially responsible decision on whether to use SRM, it is important to consider also public opinion, across the globe and particularly in the Global South, which would face the greatest risks from both global warming and SRM. However, most research on public opinion about SRM stems from the Global North. We report findings from the first large-scale, cross-cultural study on the public opinion about SRM among the general public (N = 2,248) and students (N = 4,583) in 20 countries covering all inhabited continents, including five countries from the Global South and five ‘non-WEIRD’ (i.e. not Western, Educated, Industrialised, Rich, and Democratic) countries from the Global North. As public awareness of SRM is usually low, we provided participants with information on SRM, including key arguments in favour of and against SRM that appear in the scientific debate. On average, acceptability of SRM was significantly higher in the Global South than in the ‘non-WEIRD’ Global North, while acceptability in the ‘WEIRD’ Global North was in between. However, we found substantial variation within these clusters, especially in the ‘non-WEIRD’ Global North, suggesting that countries do not form homogenous clusters and should thus be considered individually. Moreover, the average participants’ views, while generally neither strong nor polarised, differed from some expert views in important ways, including that participants perceived SRM as only slightly effective in limiting global warming. Still, our data suggests overall a conditional, reluctant acceptance. That is, while on average, people think SRM would have mostly negative consequences, they may still be willing to tolerate it as a potential last resort to fight global warming, particularly if they think SRM has only minor negative (or even positive) impact

Global ductility demands of RC frames with various post-yield stiffness ratio and ductility capacity ratio under near-field earthquakes

The directivity pulse motion in near-field earthquake affects the responses of structures. The response includes the roof drifts and interstory drifts, which is so-called the ductility demand. Although many studies have done in this topic, the effect of various post-yield stiffness ratio and ductility capacity ratio to the global ductility demands of reinforced concrete (RC) frames under near-field ground motion is not specifically investigated yet. The trend of global ductility demands of RC frames under near-field earthquake is the objective of this study. The frames are modeled with various fundamental period, behavior factor, plastic rotation capacity, post-yield stiffness ratio, and ductility capacity ratio. The study reveals that the effect of ductility capacity ratio on the global ductility demands is apparent as as the plastic rotation capacity changes. The global ductility demand is also found influenced by global post-yield stiffness ratio and behavior factor.

Indonesia and Malaysia are neighboring countries that situated in a tropical area and suitable for weathering, particularly favorable for lateritic deposit. One of laterite deposit is bauxite, where bauxite was formed as a chemical weathering product of metaluminous to peraluminous igneous rocks. The study area is located in the Kuantan area, Pahang State, Malaysia and West Kalimantan Province, Indonesia, which has contrasting tectonic origin and serve a different parent rock of bauxite. This study aims to distinguish the geochemical characteristics of bauxite in West Kalimantan against bauxite in Pahang Province. Method used in this study consists of pitting examination, where samples were collected from surface to maximum 10 m intervals and vertically logged. Samples were analyzed petrographically, XRD and XRF in order to observe the mineralogical composition and chemical compound. Result shows that magmatism in Pahang is dominated by basalt with oxide concentration of Al2O3, Fe2O3, SiO2 and TiO2 respectively ranges from 43.96 - 51.01%, 16.59 - 18.97%, 2.17 - 9.01% and 2.83 - 2.91%. In Indonesia, the parent rock of andesite and diorite (Al2O3 = 48.11 - 53.49%;Fe2O3 = 6.15 - 17.25%) shows higher amount of Al2O3 than that in granodiorit (Al2O3 = 30.10 - 48.68%). It can be inferred that andesite and diorite as bauxite's parent rock found in Kalimantan Barat generates abundant gibbsite and higher proportion of Al2O3 with lesser goethite and hematite (Fe2O3) relative to basalt as bauxite's parent rock in Pahang. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.
