Planck's constant experiment has been carried out to determine the value of Planck's constant using the regression analysis method. The steps are carried out using the scientific process outlined in the practical work steps. The specification of the experimental equipment uses the Planck constant experimental set with 12v/35w tungsten halogen light, 15v output, +-0.2% accuracy, 220V power requirement, 0.5A fuse rating and red, yellow 1, yellow 2, and red color filters, green and blue. Experiments using the concept of the photoelectric effect phenomenon began by irradiating metallic materials with light using a filter. The wavelength (635, 570, 540, 500, 460) nm is the light filter variation. The wavelength that hits the metal material is selected by placing a light filter on the light propagation path toward the metal material. So the light that passes through the filter is only light with a certain wavelength. After the metal material is irradiated by light with a certain wavelength, then the stopping potential voltage measurement is carried out on the metal material irradiated by light. From the variation of the light filter used, it is possible to calculate Planck's constant using the regression method with the value obtained 6.26x1034. This value is very close to the actual Planck's constant value which is 6.62x1034 so an error value is obtained 4.23%. With 95.77% accuracy, Planck's constant value obtained from the calculation using the linear regression method can be said to be very close to the actual Planck's constant value. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Along with technological improvements, online shopping is currently developing quickly. Online shops started by selling electronics, clothing, food, and home appliances and continue to evolve, selling various things. Currently, digital marketing has a novel technique, namely live shopping, where sellers can present, promote and offer their products directly through live streaming on social media and e-commerce platforms. This research will focus on gaining insight into the factors influencing customers to watch and purchase through live streaming. This research is an early-stage study of exploring and searching for research models. The study used a literature review approach by reviewing similar previous research articles. Several variable components were used in this study. The findings of the factors include visibility capacity, meta-vocation capacity, purchase orientation capacity, social presence, price, perceived product quality, perceived enjoyment, purchase orientation, perceived usefulness, and intention to buy. These factors were tested and proved to be valid with Cronbach's Alpha value being more than 0.5 and reliable with the value of the loading factor a greater than 0.6. Criteria The factors of the findings for further analysis of the relationship between factors and other variables. © 2023 IEEE.

High-Fidelity Numerical Simulations of a Standing-Wave Thermoacoustic Engine

Thermoacoustic devices, in which heat fluxes and pressure waves are converted from one to the other, are a promising class of energy conversion, particularly as heat-driven heat pumps. However, accurate simulation and performance prediction of these devices is a major challenge on the path to better understanding and improved ***, 2D simulations of a high-amplitude standing wave thermoacoustic engine are reported, based on the high-fidelity software PyFR. The performed simulations are validated against both computational and experimental results reported in the literature, exhibiting a deviation of less than 9% between the calculated and experimentally measured pressure amplitude, more than twice as accurate as previously reported calculations. Further, non-linear effects in the thermoacoustic engine are explored and discussed, including Rayleigh streaming, jet streaming and, importantly, higher-order harmonics. The influence of these effects on engine performance is gauged, with higher-order harmonics shown to cause the greatest reduction in engine performance. Harmonics suppression is then demonstrated, via a simple example, to improve performance and, in the present context, greatly reduce the deviation between the linear and non-linear *** work demonstrates the utility of high-order CFD schemes for the analysis of thermoacoustics devices, providing useful insight on the importance of non-linear effects and highlighting the potential benefits of future work along similar lines © 2023, The Authors. Local villagers in Mae Sot District, Tak Province, Thailand are at risk of diseases related to cadmium (Cd) due to excessive consumption of rice contaminated with Cd due to zinc mining. This study verifies the hypothesis that to achieve safe rice cultivation, magnet-assisted soil washing followed by soil amendment using zero-valent iron (ZVI) is required not only for rapid remediation of the existing Cd contamination but also for the prevention of Cd recontamination caused by contaminated run-off from an upgradient contaminated paddy. Accordingly, this study conducted a pilot-scale demonstration of the combined technique to restore a real Cd-contaminated paddy (41.02 ± 5.47 mg/kg−1) and compared it with remediation using only soil amendment with ZVI or only magnet-assisted soil washing. The Cd concentration in rice grains from the contaminated rice field without treatment was 0.86 ± 0.01 mg/kg−1, and thus higher than the acceptable level of 0.4 mg/kg−1. Even though the use of magnet-assisted soil washing without amendment initially removed all the bioavailable Cd from the soil, it failed to reduce Cd uptake by the rice plants. This failure was caused by heavy off-season rain, which flooded and re-contaminated the experimental fields with Cd-contaminated run-off from an upgradient contaminated field, leading to a Cd concentration in rice grains of 1.21 ± 0.01 mg/kg−1. Similarly, the use of ZVI as a soil amendment without magnet-assisted soil washing could not ensure safe rice cultivation during the off-season flood, as Cd concentration in the rice grains was still 0.60 mg/kg−1. However, magnet-assisted soil washing followed by soil amendment using ZVI successfully removed Cd from soil and sequestered Cd from Cd-contaminated run-off, resulting in protection against Cd re-contamination in soil and the reduction of Cd content in rice grains to 0.33 mg/kg−1, representing a 60% removal efficacy. Assessing pollution degree and human health risks from hazardous element distribution in soils near gold mines in a Colombian Andean region: Correlation with phytotoxicity biomarkers

The assessment of human health risk due to the presence of hazardous elements in the environment is now necessary for environmental management and legislative initiatives. This study aims to determine the contamination by As, Cd, Pb, and Cr in soils near gold mines in three municipalities located in the Andean region of Colombia. One of the main objectives of the study is to explore possible correlations between the Lifetime Cancer Risk (LCR) and phytotoxicity biomarkers using a simple and rapid-response plant model, radish (Raphanus sativus L.). In the municipality of Yalí, Puerto Berrío, and Buriticá, the hazardous elements concentrations ranged from 8.1 to 35.5, 1.7 to 892, and 5.8 to 49.8 for As, 0.1 to 4.6, 0.1 to 65.2, and 0.5 to 18.2 for Cd, 18.5 to 201.3, 13.0 to 1908, and 189 to 2345 for Pb, and 5.4 to 118.4, 65.4 to 301, and 5.4 to 102.3 for Cr, respectively. The results showed that the biomarkers intracellular H2O2 concentration, antioxidant activity, and radicle elongation exhibited significant (P 0.58) were found between the biomarkers and the LCR for Cd, Pb, and Cr, but not for As. The results using biomarkers reveal that soil pH and organic matter content are important variables that control the bioavailability of these elements in the soil. The use of indicators like LCR alone has limitations and should be accompanied by the use of biomarkers that allow for a better understanding of the biological system's response to exposure to potentially toxic elements. The results obtained show the urgent need to implement public policies to minimize exposure to hazardous substances in areas near gold mining projects. © 2024

Coal-fired power plants are major contributors to global CO2 emissions, prompting the need for strategies to mitigate their environmental impact. Ammonia co-firing has emerged as a promising solution for reducing CO2 emissions. This study employs computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations to optimize ammonia injection in a 1000 MW Ultra Super Critical Coal Fired Power Plant. Initially, four injection locations (equally divided, top burner, bottom burner, mid burner) were simulated at a 20% thermal energy co-firing ratio. The bottom burner injection showed the lowest NOx emissions. Building on these findings, the focus shifted to varying injection locations, particularly the bottom burner. Increased co-firing ratios led to reduced gross power and derating due to altered heat absorption and water content from ammonia combustion. Flue gas properties and composition were affected. NOx emissions showed a complex trend with initial reductions up to 20% due to ammonia's effect, but exceeding 20% co-firing led to dramatic NOx increases, surpassing limits at 60% co-firing. Burnout ratio linearly increased due to low unburned ammonia. However, coal burnout exhibited a different pattern, initially increasing, then declining after 40% co-firing. This was attributed to the char-NO reaction counteracting decreased coal volatilization caused by high ammonia levels. © 2023, The Authors. All rights reserved.

A mid-level labor preparation having the qualification and competency appropriate with working world needs is a task from vocational secondary school (VSS). The policy taken is by performing the revitalization of vocational school which has the aim to improve the quality of labor competitiveness. One of the programs is teacher quality improvement through various teacher training. However, relating to this case, it is suspected that the previous vocational school teacher training is less effective, so that it needs to be conducted the analysis about the teacher training implementation. Therefore, this article will be elaborated the ways needed to be conducted in improving the educational quality and vocational school teacher development training. The available prophylactic vaccines for human papillomavirus (HPV) in the market are only effective against specific types of HPV, rendering them ineffective for other types of HPV infections. The objective of this research is to investigate the stability of the recombinant protein constructed, namely chimeric L1/L2 protein from HPV type 52, with improved cross-neutralization ability. The 3D model, predicted using Alphafold, Robetta, I-Tasser, and refined with Galaxy Refinement, is validated using Ramachandran plot analysis. The stability is verified through molecular dynamics simulations, considering parameters such as RMSD, RMSF, Rg, and SASA, where stable conditions are observed. The chimeric L1/L2 protein from HPV type 52 is purified using affinity chromatography, and the His-tag is cleaved using SUMO protease to obtain pure chimeric protein with the size of ~ 55 kDa. Western blot analysis confirms binding to anti-L1 HPV type 52 polyclonal antibody. The obtained vaccine candidate can be utilized as an effective prophylactic vaccine against HPV. © 2024 Taylor & Francis.
