Bedrock layers support large load structures, while Phnom Penh faces limitations in mechanical properties. This research conducted rock testing on sandstone from Chroy Changvar and Dankao districts, both strongly developed zones in Phnom Penh. The fine-grain sandstones were compressed under varying conditions of confining stress of 0 to 6 MPa and pore water pressure of 1 MPa. Permeability was assessed at pore water pressures of 1 MPa and confining stress of 3 MPa. Core rock samples, collected at depths of 43 to 50 m below the surface from both sites, revealed characteristics. The dry and wet density of Chroy Changvar sandstone existed at 2,503 kg/m3 and 2,574 kg/m3, with a permeability value of 1.43∙10-14 m2 of pre-failure rock 1.87∙10-14 m2 showing slightly increase. The maximum peak stress ranged from 11 to 75 MPa. Shear properties were estimated, indicating an internal friction angle of 57-degree, rupture plane angle of 16.5 degrees, and cohesion of 1.6 MPa. Dangkoa siltsotne showed the value of dry and wet densities of 2,682 kg/m3 and 2,699 kg/m3, respectively, with intact rock permeability of 8.63∙10-15 m2 with highly increased in fractured rock permeability of 1.64∙10-12 m2. This rock existed of high stress under compression with the peak stress of 100 MPa to 330 MPa exhibited a brittle-rock type even the increase in confining stress. The internal friction angle of 71-degree, rupture angle of 10 degree, and cohesion of 11.2 MPa. The study provides insights into the contrasting mechanical properties of bedrock of two districts in Phnom Penh. Chroy Chongvar sandstone displayed plasticity, while Dankoa sandstone exhibited brittleness. These findings contribute valuable information for understanding and managing subsurface conditions in urban environments. Copyright 2024 ARMA, American Rock Mechanics Association.

Sawdust is one of the industrial wastes which naturally contains low energy density. An effective method is needed to utilize this biomass as a solid fuel product. This work aimed to investigate the physical and combustion properties of bio-pellets produced from sawdust under the wet torrefaction method. To prepare sawdust bio-pellet a number of steps were carried out including the wet torrefaction process, dough preparation, pelletizing, and drying. Wet torrefaction was performed by hydrothermally treating the sample in an autoclave at a temperature of 130°C and pressure of 2 atm (g) for 80 minutes. For the hydrothermal process, the used acetic acid solution was varied with variations of 1.3 M, 1.8 M, and 2.3 M. Properties of the product were analyzed under proximate and bomb calorimetry analyses. To evaluate the combustion properties a purposely built test apparatus was developed equipped with a data logger system. Based on the results it can be observed that increases in torrefaction temperature and acetic acid concentration resulted in an increase in the calorific value as well as decreases in the ash content. The highest calorific value was 4745 kcal/kg obtained from sawdust torrefied in acetic acid with a concentration of 2.3 M at a temperature of 130?. This sample also exhibits the lowest ash content which is only 1.97%. The combustion test disclosed a maximum combustion temperature of 589? with a burning rate of 0.711 g/min. Overall, the wet torrefaction applied in this investigation was beneficially enhanced the properties of bio-pellet products. © 2025 Institute of Physics Publishing. All rights reserved.

Total dissolved solids (TDS) consisting of inorganic salts and organic matter are pollutants to the aquatic and water systems for human use. This paper studied the effect of ceramic adsorbent composition on improving the quality of the produced water (PW) by decreasing TDS before entering reverse osmosis (RO). Manufacturing ceramic adsorbents use a mixture of spent catalysts of residues catalytic cracking (RCC) and natural clay in various compositions. Experiments were performed using the PW from one oil and gas company in South Sumatra, Indonesia. The initial characterization of produced water contains total dissolved solids of 14,556 mg/L. The flow rate of PW into the ceramic adsorbent column were varied from 6 to 8 L/min at a contact time of 15 to 120 min. The results showed that ceramic adsorbent A (diameter 10 mm and thickness 10 mm, 70% clay, and 30% RCC) reduced TDS by 74.58%. Adsorbent B (diameter of 20 mm and thickness of 10 mm, 70% RCC and 30% clay) lowers TDS by 56.68% at a flow rate of 6 L/min and a contact time of 60 min. Adsorbent C (diameter of 10 mm and thickness of 10 mm, 30% clay, and 70% RCC) reduced TDS by 59.40% at a flow rate of 6 L/min and a flow time of 60 min. Adsorbent D (diameter of 20 mm, thickness of 10 mm, 30% clay, and 70% RCC) lowers TDS by 54.38% at a flow rate of 6 L/ min and a contact time of 60 min. After being transferred into the adsorption column, their filtrates were sent into the Reverse Osmosis (RO) membrane. The final permeates of RO have TDS values between 1,720 mg/L to 3,930 mg/L that met water standards for oil and gas exploration wastewater in Indonesia. © 2023 The Authors. All rights reserved.

This study is conducted to compare three different cannulas;all purpose nasal cannula with 2 prongs, nasal pressure cannula with 2 prongs and single port nasal cannula which are commonly used for capnography device. These cannulas or sometimes called as nasal prong is connected to the device via nose of subjects studied. This procedure is a part of respiratory study to monitor lungs condition and breathing pattern. This study involves 47 subject where the exhaled breath was recorded to make comparison and choose the most suitable and effective for capnography waveform analysis. Utilizing Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) to find the normality of all the nasal cannula data based on capnogram waveform. The result from the analysis shows that the frequency distribution for type 1 nasal cannula which is also known as all-purpose nasal cannula had the feature values closer to the standard value. Our study proofs that all purpose nasal cannula sampling is the most suitable to capture exhaled breath for monitoring respiratory conditions. © 2023 IEEE.

Facility Management (FM) practices requires an efficient representations and reliable tools. Building information Modelling (BIM) held great potential for FM maintenance practices providing necessary facility information. Slow adoption of new technologies in the built environment is still a burden due to several factors like the lack of information sharing and collaborations, and the poor level of trust of information. In the built environment public sector, data security remains one of the maj or system deficiencies. With the blockchain technology (BC) evolving in recent times, security of data could be leveraged. This research establishes a framework utilizing managed BC in the built environment FM. The scope of this system is to integrate the benefits of BIM and BC to manage data from an loT platform gathering ambient conditions information. The flow of information is regarded in the established framework through the integration of four modules, namely, 1) data collection module, 2) data processing module, 3) data storage module, and 4) data visualization module. Furthermore, the developed framework is tested and applied for the validation of the approach. Results of the system are shown and are established by the system to be continuously updated and stored. The developed system serves as a trusted-fully secure tool for FM practitioners to assess and visualize indoor ambient comfort. Thus, the developed tool is proposing a state-of art-concept in the quest of the industry to reach a common data platform for the whole facility life-cycle. © 2023 IEEE.

Organizational resilience is about combination of operational and strategic resilience to sustain company's performance. In the time of turbulence like COVID-19 pandemic era, this resilience is extremely needed for any organizations not only to bounce back from its disruption but also ensures its sustained performance. However, knowledge related to this ability is still lacking and developing to cover especially factors needed to develop resilience for organization. Thus, this paper is proposing an organizational resilience model that covers what factors known so far. For this research, 100 organizations were invited for the research using questionnaires as its instrument. Among these invited organizations, only 47 organizations have given their responses at rate of 47%. Partial Least Square Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) method using SmartPLS 3.0 was utilized for data processing. This confirms that organization should promote its resilience through operational dan strategic resilience to sustain its performance especially in times of turbulence especially during COVID-19 pandemic era. © 2022 IEEE.

Base saturation flow is a critical constraint used for evaluating the capacity of signalized intersections. The Indonesian Highway Capacity Manual (IHCM, 2023) is frequently used for signalized intersection planning in Indonesia. In heterogeneous traffic environments, the driver characteristics and behaviors exhibit significant variations. However, the base saturation flow was also influenced by traffic volume during the observation period. This study modeled the base saturation flow by analyzing differences in morning and afternoon peak hour data. The objective was to examine the base saturation flow at pretimed signal in Banda Aceh, with a focus on traffic volume fluctuations during peak hours. Four intersections were investigated in this study. Unmanned aerial vehicles were employed to record discharge flow pattern within targeted signalized intersection. Manual timing was conducted using stopwatches and geometric road data were collected through direct field measurements. Bayesian linear regression with a Gibbs sampling approach was utilized to recalibrate the saturation flow rate coefficients. The base saturation flow during the morning peak is 284 We, while in the afternoon peak, it is 285 We, with We representing the effective intersection approach. © 2024 Institute of Physics Publishing. Damage that occurs on the pavement can be in the form of permanent deformation, cracks due to temperature changes, material damage and material detachment. This research tested the resistance of the Asphalt Concrete Wearing Course (AC-WC) mixture using a plastic bag of LDPE (Low Density Polyethylene) polymer type against water through immersion in water with a temperature of 60 ℃ for 30 min, 24, 48 and 72 h with a continuous system and variations in LDPE polymer plastic content. by 0, 5, 7 and 9%. The results of the analysis show that the use of LDPE polymer plastic in the AC-WC mixture can increase the resistance to damage to the mixture due to continuous water immersion by reducing the retained strength index value and increasing the remaining strength index value with increasing the duration of immersion. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

This study uses Global Precipitation Measurement (GPM) and Coupled Model Intercomparison Project Phase 6 (CMIP6) precipitation data to identify extreme precipitation intensity and frequency changes in Indonesia. Extreme precipitation calculations were performed using the Gumbel distribution and return period fitted to annual maxima data. Extreme precipitation and frequency of extreme events were compared between the historical period and the near-future period (2026–2055) and the far-future period (2070–2099) to identify changes. The results showed that there were changes in extreme precipitation in Indonesia both in intensity and frequency of occurrence. Extreme precipitation with a 5-year return period in Indonesia generally has a change value in the range of − 5 to + 25% with most areas likely to increase. The increased value reaches + 20% in the near-future period and + 40% in the far-future period. For the frequency of extreme precipitation above the 5-year return period in Indonesia, the change value is generally in the range of − 40 to + 120% with most areas likely to increase. The increased value reaches + 160% in the near-future period and + 200% in the far-future period. In the higher emission scenario (SSP5-8.5), the areas with higher values of increase will expand both in the change in intensity and frequency of occurrence. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

Geothermal reservoirs are significant sources of renewable energy. Accurate geometric modeling of these reservoirs is essential for understanding the distribution of heat and fluid dynamics within them. This study aims to develop a geometric model of the Sibayak geothermal field using borehole data. Borehole data provide detailed geological information, which is crucial for constructing a realistic geometric model. The methodology of this research involves several key steps: the collection of borehole data from the Sibayak geothermal field, the construction of a 3D geometric model of the reservoir using COMSOL Multiphysics based on the borehole data, and the validation of the model through comparison with field data and previous research findings. The results indicate that the developed geometric model successfully identifies zones with high geothermal potential and provides an accurate depiction of the reservoir's boundaries and characteristics. Modeling the geometry of geothermal reservoirs using borehole data offers profound insights into the internal dynamics of the reservoir and can serve as a valuable tool for planning and optimizing geothermal energy exploitation. © 2024 Institute of Physics Publishing.
