In this study, solid-state fermentation was carried out to produce single cell protein by local Aspergillus niger. Rice straw pulp produced from the pretreatment by liquid hot water at temperature 121 °C for 60 minutes of cooking time was used as carbon source. The effects of nitrogen sources, initial medium pH, C/N ratios of substrates and fermentation time on SCP production were evaluated in these experiments. The single cell protein was measured as crude protein content in the fermentation product by the Kjeldahl analysis method. The maximum crude protein of 18.9 % (w/w) contained in the fermentation product occurred at the fermentation condition with C/N ratio 30:1, the initial medium pH 4, temperature 30 °C, moisture content 75 % and relative humidity 95 %. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

This paper presents an analysis of the Unified Power Quality Conditioner-Photovoltaic (UPQC-PV) system under sag and interruption voltage with variable irradiance. The PV is connected to a three-phase three-wire (3P3W) distribution system with 380 volts (L-L) and a frequency of 50 hertz, through UPQC-DC link. This system is used to maintain and supply sensitive loads. This paper shows that in the sag voltage and irradiance levels of 200 W/m 2 to 1200 W/m 2 , the 3P3W system uses UPQC-PV with proportional-integral (PI) still able to maintain the active load power above 3714 W. However, in the interruption voltage and same irradiance level, the load active power drops to between 2560 W and 2805 W. This research also shows that in the sag voltage and same irradiance levels, the 3P3W system uses UPQC-PV with PI still able to generate PV power between 500 W to 920 W. In the interruption voltage and same irradiance levels, the power that can be generated by PV increases between 1300 W to 1635 W. Otherwise, at 25 0 C and 1000 W/m 2 , the increase in PV power on interruption voltage has not been able to meet the load active power consumption, so it finally drops to 2650 W. This paper is simulated using Matlab/Simulink.

This study aims to know the comparison design of electric motorcycle using hybrid systems (BLDC Motor) based on parameter testing, i.e., with and without load. The design of electric motorcycles is centered on determining a feasibility study comparing engine drive with electric drive. Electric vehicles are the answer to decreasing petroleum supplies and environmental concerns that are worsening every year due to oil-fueled cars’ exhaust emissions. The proportion of motor vehicle exhaust as an air pollution source is between 60 and 70 percent. The global decrease of fossil fuels is also a critical issue that has yet to be handled. A descriptive statistic methodology was employed in this work as an analytical tool. The results showed when the speed increases, the efficiency of the BLDC motor would increase; this is, of course, following the principle of Orsted’s law and Lorentz force. When compared to the no-load test, the efficiency by using the load will be greater because when the BLDC motor works with a load, it will require greater torque due to an increase in load so that it takes a large amount of power so that it will increase the efficiency of the BLDC motor. When compared in terms of using the battery, the time of using the battery with no load will be longer because it does not require too much current.

China is experiencing accelerated urbanisation,with a large number of people moving from rural to urban areas[1].It has resulted in large losses in the net primary production(NPP),biodiversity and carbon stocks and an increase in environmental pollution and CO_(2)emissions[2–4].In 2015,196 countries signed the Paris Agreement and committed to setting long-term goals to jointly manage climate change and reduce their individual emissions,aiming to control the increase in global average temperature from the pre-industrial level to below 2℃and to curtail the temperature rise within 1.5℃till the end of the 21st century[5].China is bolstering its efforts to achieve the climate change mitigation goals and has announced a plan for achieving carbon neutrality by 2060[6].The carbon neutrality goal poses a challenge to the current policies promoting rapid urbanisation across China.

The purpose of this study was to design a microcontroller based automatic plant watering system. The method used was an experimental method using two sensors, i.e. soil moisture sensor (measure soil moisture) and ultrasonic sensors (measure the distance of rotary direction regulator for DC motors). Arduino board is preferable as the main controller due to its simplicity. Tool testing was conducted through trials on soil samples and performance tests when the tool was operating. The parameters observed were solar intensity (Lux), ambient temperature (°C), RH (%), water discharge (ml/s), DC motor axis rotation (rpm), AC and DC voltage (Volt), and soil moisture (%). The tool testing showed that the designed watering system could works properly with less than 10% MAPE. When the sensor read the soil moisture value below 70% setting point, the pump and DC motor were turned on. Whereas, when the soil moisture value achieved 80% setting point, the pump and DC motor were turned off. Performance test was conducted for three days of observation. The founding shows that the designed automatic watering system could successfully provide as much as 2.52 litre of water during approximately 6 minutes of watering period. © 2019 IOP Publishing Ltd. Determining the slope slip surface is difficult, prominent and uncertain. Slip-surface are utilized to estimate slope safety. This study aimed at investigating the slip surface caused by statistical loads by using experimental testing methods. The experimental method was conducted by providing a statistical load on the sand slope The load was used until the slope collapsed. Sand slopes were modeled in a glass box measuring 110 cm x 40 cm x 10 cm. The sand material used was sand that passed through sieve no.10 and was held by sieve no. 200. At a distance of 2.5 cm horizontally and at a distance of 5 cm vertically, colored marks were used to see the pattern of grain movement. Observations were conducted until the slope collapsed. The collapse pattern revealed in the experimental method is non-circular.

This paper is collaboration between BMKG and the University of Mataram to mitigate landslides by utilizing C-band radar data and rain gauges in measuring rainfall as the main factor triggering disasters. In heavy and prolonged rains, there is a chance for disasters to occur. Based on the observations of the Lombok International Airport Meteorological Station (-8°76'59"LS and 116°27’'91"E), the 24-hour cumulative rain on January 30, 2021, the analysis results of 64 mm/h can be included in the category of extrime rainfall.

The water availability in the river basin possesses essential benefits for human life, habitats, energy, and farming. As the river basin collects and stores inland water runoff from rainfall, it keeps a maintainable river discharge or so-called a dependable flow. As an extensive irrigation system in central java, the Jratunseluna river basin provides water for 257 thousand hectares of irrigation, with the river basin's area 9.896 km2. In this case, the dependable flow used for irrigation intake's design needs to be analyzed. However, as a ground-based instrument is used and a point-based measurement, the accuracy may depend on the number of devices deployed on the ground. On the other hand, the Global Precipitation Measurement (GPM) collects extensive spatial data in one observation cycle at near-real-time. Here, the use of satellite data looks like the main challenge dealing with a large-scale area target. This study aims to analyze the accuracy of satellite-based data related to rainfall amount used as an input to calculate the dependable flow compared to the analyses generated from the ground-based data. The study uses the Mock model with the calibrated parameter obtained from the observed flow data from 2010 to 2020. The model was developed under two scenarios; the rain gauge models and the GPM models. This study uses the GPM-IMERG specification with a time resolution of 1 day and a spatial resolution of 0.1° x 0.1°. The results show that the estimated dependable flows under two conditions are comparable to the observed data regarding the correlation coefficient, RMSE, and NSE scores. The best result of the statistical tests for the correlation coefficient, RMSE, and NSE obtains 0.75 m3/s, 3.60, and 0.70 for the rain gauge model and 0.75 m3/s, 3.30, 0.80 for the GPM model, respectively. Through this study, the use of satellite-based GPM data is expected to be more extensive to support modern agricultural management activities.

Light detection and ranging (LiDAR) provides geospatial information with massive amounts of data to use in a variety of applications. Canopy cover percentage of tree crown is one application that is estimated through LiDAR data. This study aims to estimate a canopy cover derived from LiDAR used as reference data with multispectral Landsat 8 OLI. Statistical or machine learning approaches can be used to estimate a canopy cover. In statistical inference, the form of distribution chosen by the analyst and parameter is estimated from the data. This will be a problem in the construction function for the National scale, due to many ecosystems and then will have many functions for each ecosystem. Machine learning (ML) methods, in contrast, are various kinds of algorithms that are used to learn the mapping function or classification rules inductively, directly from the training data. ML can solve problems related to big data and global method and it will be used as a methodical approach to estimate canopy cover on the National scale. In this study, we use a support vector regression (SVR) as ML method to estimate the canopy cover. Optimization of water treatment process performance of Duren Seribu Water Treatment Plant in Depok City: water quality and design parameters

Duren Seribu Water Treatment Plant (WTP) plays a role in fulfilling water needs due to the increase in population growth. This study aims to evaluate the performance of the WTP and the potential for capacity uprating from the aspect of conformity to water quality standards, removal efficiency, and design parameters. Data collection was carried out by observation, measurement, and sampling. The result showed that raw water quality complies with the quality standards and is influenced by seasons. Meanwhile, the quality of drinking water produced for the parameters of pH, turbidity, TDS, organic matter, iron, and total coliform has complied with the quality standards. The efficiency removal of turbidity, TDS, organic matter, and iron occurred in conventional processing units were 94.6%, 70.5%, and 90.9%, and the total coliform removal efficiency was 1.8-log (67.05%). Based on the assessment of the design criteria, there are design parameters of the unit that require technical improvement such as detention time of flocculation unit, velocity and detention time in tube settler sedimentation unit, and the capacity of Duren Seribu WTP could be increased by 10% or up to 110 liters/second.
