Background:There is a growing interest to understand the neurobiological mechanisms that drive the positive associations of physical activity and fitness with measures of cognitive *** better understand those mechanisms,several studies have employed eye-based measures(e.g., eye movement measures such as saccades,pupillary measures such as pupil dilation,and vascular measures such as retinal vessel diameter)deemed to be proxies for specific neurobiological ***,there is currently no systematic review providing a comprehensive overview of these studies in the field of exercise-cognition ***,this review aimed to address that gap in the ***:To identify eligible studies,we searched 5 electronic databases on October 23,*** researchers independently extracted data and assessed the risk of bias using a modified version of the Tool for the assEssment of study qualiTy and reporting in EXercise(TESTEX scale,for interventional studies) and the critical appraisal tool from the Joanna Briggs Institute(for cross-sectional studies).Results:Our systematic review(n=35 studies) offers the following main findings:(a) there is insufficient evidence available to draw solid conclusions concerning gaze-fixation-based measures;(b) the evidence that pupillometric measures,which are a proxy for the noradrenergic system,can explain the positive effect of acute exercise and cardiorespiratory fitness on cognitive performance is mixed;(c) physical training-or fitness-related changes of the cerebrovascular system(operationalized via changes in retinal vasculature) are,in general,positively associated with cognitive performance improvements;(d) acute and chronic physical exercises show a positive effect based on an oculomotor-based measure function(operationalized via antisaccade tasks);and(e) the positive association between cardiorespiratory fitness and cognitive performance is partly mediated by the dopaminergic system(operationalized via spo

Pharmaceutical active compound (PhAC) residues are considered an emerging micropollutant that enters the aquatic environment and causes harmful ecotoxicity. The significant sources of PhACs in the environment include the pharmaceutical industry, hospital streams, and agricultural wastes (animal husbandry). Recent investigations demonstrated that wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) are an important source of PhACs discharging ecosystems. Several commonly reported that PhACs are detected in a range level from ng L−1 to μg L−1 concentration in WWTP effluents. These compounds can have acute and chronic adverse impacts on natural wildlife, including flora and fauna. The approaches for PhAC removals in WWTPs include bioremediation, adsorption (e.g., biochar, chitosan, and graphene), and advanced oxidation processes (AOPs). Overall, adsorption and AOPs can effectively remove PhACs from wastewater aided by oxidizing radicals. Heterogeneous photocatalysis has also proved to be a sustainable solution. Bioremediation approaches such as membrane bioreactors (MBRs), constructed wetlands (CWs), and microalgal-based systems were applied to minimize pharmaceutical pollution. Noteworthy, applying MBRs has illustrated high removal efficiencies of up to 99%, promising prospective future. However, WWTPs should be combined with advanced solutions, e.g., AOPs/photodegradation, microalgae–bacteria consortia, etc., to treat and minimize their accumulation. More effective and novel technologies (e.g., new generation bioremediation) for PhAC degradation must be investigated and specially designed for a low-cost and full-scale. Investigating green and eco-friendly PhACs with advantages, e.g., low persistence, no bioaccumulation, less or non-toxicity, and environmentally friendly, is also necessary. © 2024 Elsevier Ltd

Application of incremental dynamic analysis for seismic assessment of existing building structures

History records that Aceh Province has been hit by earthquakes several times, including the largest one that recorded in 1983, then on December 26, 2004 with a magnitude of 9.3 SR. This earthquake devastated the city of Banda Aceh which was followed by a tsunami. Finally, in 2016, there was an earthquake that resulted in severe damage in the Pidie Jaya district. The potential for a large earthquake in Banda Aceh City requires that the buildings to have good resistance to seismic risk. In the context of seismic performance assessment of buildings, Incremental Dynamic Analysis (IDA) can be applied to investigate structural response. Incremental Dynamic Analysis is a method of parametric analysis of structural performance using the applied earthquake load response. In this analysis, the structural model is created with one or more seismic load records multiplied by a scale factor for various levels of earthquake intensity. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the seismic performance of the existing building by applying the IDA method and to obtain an overview of the structural risk due to variations in earthquake intensity that may occur. The method of Incremental Dynamic Analysis (IDA) is applied to predict and estimate the performance of the structure using several ground motions. The existing buildings that are the main focus of this study include the Tsunami Vertical Evacuation (TVE) of Lambung, TVE Alu Deah Teungoh, TVE TDMRC, SDN 48 Banda Aceh, SMPN 11 Banda Aceh, Baiturrahim Ulee Lheu Mosque, and the Subulussalam Punge Mosque. The resulting set of IDA curves was further analyzed to assess the behavior of the building structure that occurred. The result of the analysis is the distribution of structural response expressed in one or more IDA curves as a function of earthquake intensity. This research is about smooth support vector machine (SSVM) and Decision Tree in data mining. Many researchers conduct and develop methods to improve the accuracy and classification of data on good results. This research was conducted by conducting an experiment on STMIK Neumann Medan student data. In this study, it was concluded that Decision Tree performance is better than SSVM, Decision Tree gets very good results that promise to help find the best students to get scholarships. This study is better than SSVM. The training process has a difference of 11.04% and the testing process is 10.08% with each Accuracy. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Indonesia is one among countries that produce abundant of rice straw every year generated as post-harvesting residue from paddy field all over country. This abundant amount residue is highly potential to be utilized as carbon source in producing single cell protein (SCP) in solid state fermentation system. SCP is a microbial protein that can be used as alternative protein for substitution of available conventional protein sources such as;fish meal, soy bean, and corn Stover for animal feed production. This research was conducted to evaluating the effects of initial medium pH of substrate (mixed rice straw pulp-urea), fermentation time and fermentation temperature on SCP production by Trichoderma reesei in solid state fermentation (SSF). The results showed that the highest SCP yield (19.71%) was produced at the initial medium pH of 5 and temperature of 30 °C at SSF conditions of C/N ratio 20:1 for 12 days of fermentation time. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Two-dimensional (2D) materials and Transition Metal Dichalcogenides (TMD) in particular are at the forefront of nanotechnology. To tailor their properties for engineering applications, alloying strategies—used successfully for bulk metals in the last century—need to be extended to this novel class of materials. Here we present a systematic analysis of the phase behaviour of substitutional 2D alloys in the TMD family on both the metal and chalcogenide site. The phase behaviour is quantified in terms of a metastability metric and benchmarked against systematic computational screening of configurational energy landscapes from First Principles. The resulting Pettifor maps can be used to identify broad trends across chemical spaces and as starting point for setting up rational search strategies in phase space, thus allowing for targeted computational analysis of properties on likely thermodynamically stable compounds. The results presented here also constitute a useful guideline for synthesis of binary metal 2D TMDs alloys via a range of synthesis techniques. © 2022, CC BY-NC-SA.

Ultraviolet (UV) irradiation in biomaterial synthesis is commonly used to do sterilization and to improve the physical characteristics. This study is aimed to study the characteristics of polyvinyl alcohol-Aloe vera (PVA-AV) nanofibers from electrospinning process, that was exposed by UV for 6 h with various power of 8, 10, 15, and 20 W. The physical properties of the fiber were characterized by using Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR), Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) test, and water absorption test. The SEM images showed that the nanofibers were formed with s homogeneous structure and no bead was observed. The diameter and the thickness of the nanofibers are increased with the increase of the power of UV exposed to the samples. The biggest diameter was 319.60 ± 56.17 nm obtained at UV exposure power of 20 W. The FTIR test result indicated that there was no new chemical bond after the PVA-AV was exposed by UV. Meanwhile, the DSC test showed that the increase of power could increase the melting temperature (Tm) with the highest value of 189.51°C at UV exposure power of 20 W. The water absorption test showed that the highest water absorption was 739.6 % obtained at UV exposure power of 20 W. © 2020 Trans Tech Publications Ltd, Switzerland.

Raspberry Pi is a mini-computer that is provided to carry out activities quickly and precisely, but Raspberry Pi was created to not be able to do the real-time system with the support of Windows 10 IoT operating system, so the real-time system can be done on Raspberry Pi. The real-time applied in the application needs to be tested with the Nyquist theory. The purpose of this study was to get real-time system measurements available on Windows 10 IoT. Artisanal Small-scale Gold Mining (ASGM) in Gorontalo spread across several regions. One is located in the village Bumela, District Bilato, Gorontalo regency. The processing of gold at the mine site Bumela do with the amalgamation method. The purpose of this study is to assess the content of mercury in sediments around the ASGM Bumela. Sediment sampling sites in Totopo River, Motebo River and ASGM Bumela tailings. The number of sampling point sediment in the river are 15 points. The number of sampling point sediment in tailings location is 2 points. Sampling was done by varying the depth of 0-20 cm and 20-40 cm. To determine the concentration of mercury in the sediment used Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy (AAS) without a flame in LPPMHP Gorontalo Province. The quality standard levels of mercury in the sediment used European Safety Standard. The average content of mercury in the sediment was 71.36 mg/kg. The average content of mercury in the tailings is 31.95 mg/kg. The content of mercury in Totopo River, Motebo River and the tailings are exceeding the quality standard of European Safety Standard. © 2019 Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

This study investigates the grain size characteristics and sediment types of the Aceh's coastal deposits that are primarily based on the sieve analysis. This study is mainly driven by two reasons. Firstly, this study is a preliminary effort to identify coastal sediment in the Aceh coastal areas. Secondly, this information is important to interpret the support mechanism of sediment during transportation and depositional processes. In this study, many sediment deposits from both the east and west coasts of Aceh were collected. Laboratory sieve analysis was carried out to these samples. Then, further analysis of this sieve analysis results is carried out. The analysis reveals the past transport mechanism of this study sand deposits which is river's channel. However, such finding should be investigated further as all the tested sand were taken at the top surface and big main rivers are not indicated at both sand locations. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.
