The current rapid assessment of post-earthquake damaged houses has been done manually. The determination of the damage level is also very subjective. Moreover, the available time during a rapid assessment and limited number of enumerators lead to ineffective decisions for responses and assistances. There are several application had appeared trying to answer the problems, but still they have many types of data that need to be input and even need a lot of time to process. The system design to be simple, more user-friendly and time efficient to be operated during the assessment. This study is aimed to develop a conceptual design of a system to collect data of houses damaged by earthquake using mobile application which propose to work both online and offline. The system will consists of five components: mobile device, user, data center (web server and database), internet, and data processing center (administrator and manager to verify and analyze the data). The application design to be integrated with Google Maps containing concise data entry to facilitate users (trained users and common users) and to shorten the time of data collection. Final collected data will be presented through the website and perform descriptive and spatial analysis.

The use of stainless steel as formwork for concrete columns provides several benefits for the structure, including the high corrosion resistance, durability, fire resistance, ease of maintenance and high aesthetic value. The use of composite systems in columns has been a major breakthrough in bridges and viaducts. A particular advantage of the composite columns is the reduction of cross sectional area, speed of construction, easy maintenance and material saving when compared to conventional reinforced concrete structures. These advantages are related to the idea that the columns are concrete filled eliminating the use of forms and the need for extra steel reinforcing bars. The investigated system adopts a second carbon steel tube inside the primary stainless steel tube composing the structural system made of concrete-filled double skin composite tube columns (CFDSCT). This study aims to develop numerical models, using the finite element method and considering geometric imperfections. The structural behaviour was assessed through a nonlinear analysis and was later compared to compressive tests performed in the laboratory. After the completion of the numerical models calibration, a parametric analysis was performed to investigate the influence of parameters like the diameter, thickness and height of the stainless steel tube (outer) while its results were also compared to predictions made by traditional design equations. © Ernst & Sohn Verlag für Architektur und technische Wissenschaften GmbH & Co. Structural performance of stainless lap bolted joints

The stainless steel employed in the structural elements present high corrosion resistance, durability, fire resistance and high aesthetic value compared to those constructed using carbon steel. In contrast, the stainless steel structures design is made following the requirements based on the carbon steel analogies. In fact, the structural performance of stainless steel is complex and dissimilar where some stainless grades presenting nonlinear tension versus strain curves without a defined yield plateau and large strain hardening. These properties influence on structural performance of the lap bolted joints. The Eurocode 3 pt. 1.4, one of the most adopted design codes, recommends two structural design criteria for the stainless steel elements under tension: ultimate resistance of the net cross-section at holes or plastic resistance of the gross cross-section. The present work aimed to investigate the structural response of lap bolted joints made of three stainless steel grades: austenitic, ferritic and duplex. Nonlinear numerical analyses has been carried out using ABAQUS 6.14 program where the response have shown a good agreement in terms of the maximum loads and failure modes when compared to the performed experiments. The results indicated a conservative level of safety from Eurocode 3 pt. 1.4 code provisions in comparison to the experimental results. © 2017 Ernst & Sohn Verlag für Architektur und technische Wissenschaften GmbH & Co. Glutaraldehyde (GA) is the most common biocide used in unconventional oil and gas production. Photocatalysis of GA in brine simulating oil and gas produced water using Ag/AgCl/BiOCl was investigated. Ag/AgCl/BiOCl photocatalyst was synthesized using flower-like BiOCl. Light bulbs emitting visible light at 419 nm were used for the photocatalysis. Removal of GA at 0.1 mM in 200 g/L NaCl solution at pH 7 was 90% after 75 min irradiation using 5 g/L of the photocatalyst. However, at pH 5 or at 300 g/L NaCl, the photocatalytic removal of GA was almost completely inhibited. The GA removal followed pseudo-first order reaction with a rate constant of 0.0303 min-1. The removal rate of GA markedly increased with the increasing pH (5-9), photocatalyst loading (2-8 g/L) and under 350 nm UV (compared to visible light). On the contrary, the removal rate of GA markedly decreased with increasing NaCl and initial GA concentrations (0-300 g/L for NaCl and 0.1-0.4 mM for GA). The removal of GA under natural sunlight was slightly better than that under 419 nm. A quenching experiment was also conducted;holes and superoxide were found as the main reactive species responsible for the removal of GA while ∗OH had a very limited effect. The increasing of urban development and the decreasing of public awareness to environment promote flood every year for urban cities. Several lakes or ponds are sacrificed due to both urban development and landfilling. Bad habit of society to throw garbage to the lakes affects the society to think that the economic value of lakes could be increased by filling them with the land. These lead to make the lakes become vulnerable to sedimentation from urban activities. Universitas Indonesia as educational institution starts to develop how to manage sedimentation by hydrodynamics and sediment transport modelling. The research uses Resources Modelling Associates (RMA) program to run the model and Agathis Lake as the study area to perform the simulation. It is expected that the program output data could represent the field data, so the validation method should be conducted. The issue to validate the data would be problematic if simulation factors data could not accommodate real-world observed data. This study aims to employ Galerkin method to understand finite element method in Resources Modelling Associates program (RMA) in order to avoid black box when using it and to conduct a field study to perform calibration method of sediment transport modelling in the study area, Agathis Lake that is located in Universitas Indonesia.

The increasing prevalence of multidrug-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii as an opportunistic pathogen in wound infections raises significant concerns due to its antibiotic resistance and biofilm-mediated antibiotic tolerance. This underscores the urgent need to explore an alternative approach to effectively managing wound infections caused by MDR A. baumannii . In this study, combining subinhibitory concentrations of curcumin (25 µg/ml) or chitosan (156 µg/ml) with photodynamic therapy-PDT (10 J/cm 2 ) resulted in a significant reduction of planktonic viabilities and biofilm biovolume of MDR A. baumannii clinical isolates in vitro . In murine A. baumannii- associated wound infection, a combination of curcumin (25 µg/ml) or chitosan (156 µg/ml) with PDT (10 J/cm 2 ) resulted in complete bacterial eradication with wound healing at Day 15 of post-treatments with these combination therapies. Our study demonstrated that combining curcumin or chitosan with PDT at their subinhibitory concentrations represents a promising alternative strategy as localized therapy for effectively managing A. baumannii -associated wound infection.

Objectives: The 12-item Self-Compassion Scale–Short Form (SCS–SF) is a widely used instrument for the assessment of self-compassion. To date, there have been few examinations of this instrument’s psychometric properties, particularly across nations and languages. Therefore, we used data from the Body Image in Nature Survey (BINS) to assess measurement invariance of the SCS–SF across nations, languages, gender identities, and age groups. Methods: Participants (N = 56,968) from 65 nations completed the SCS–SF in 40 languages. Using these data, we tested various hypothesised models of the SCS–SF in the total sample and, using multi-group confirmatory factor analysis, tested for invariance of the optimal model across national groups, languages, gender identities, and age groups. Results: In the total dataset, we found that an 11-item, 2-factor model (i.e., SCS-11) provided best fit to the data, with the two factors tapping distinct constructs of compassionate and uncompassionate self-responding. The SCS-11 was found to be partially scalar invariant across national groups and languages, and fully scalar invariant across gender identities and age groups. There was wide variation in latent means for the two factors, particularly across national groups and languages. Further analyses showed negligible associations between the two factors and sociodemographic variables, including marital status, financial security, and urbanicity. Conclusions: Our results suggest that it may be possible to derive a stable 2-factor model of the SCS–SF for use in cross-cultural research, but also highlight the likelihood of cross-national and cross-linguistic variations in the way that self-compassion is understood. © The Author(s) 2025.

The use of prestressed steel stayed columns systems in construction has numerous advantages related to its light weight, load bearing capacity and assembly process flexibility. A practical application of these structural systems could be recently observed in Brazil for the erection of the Rock in Rio III world stage. In this event the use of prestressed stayed carbon steel columns were used for temporary shoring, optimizing the erection sequence. The main stage had a 82 meters span with a 40 m clear height and a 4500 m2 area. Two stayed column were used, both with a 20 m length. Up to the present the majority of investigations of these stayed systems have been focused on carbon steel columns. In view of these facts the present paper aimed to present an investigation of the structural behaviour of columns made with the austenitic stainless steel. Numerical models were developed in the Ansys software, focusing on the structural system load carrying capacity and the optimal level of prestress to be used. The optimal level of prestress to be used was also determined considering the influence of initial imperfections. The results confirmed that the use of prestress in the cables significantly enhance the ultimate loads and ductility capacity of the columns. © Ernst & Sohn Verlag für Architektur und technische Wissenschaften GmbH & Co.
