Television Interference (TVI) is a pivotal factor in high voltage transmission line design. TVI occurs because of corona discharges along the transmission line, causing signal deterioration and power loss. Conventional lines have the bundled conductors symmetrically placed on a circle, and the bundle radius is chosen such that the corona discharge effects are reduced. High Surge Impedance Loading (HSIL) transmission lines consist of a higher number of subconductors and a larger bundle radius, increasing line loadability. Conductor costs are reduced by using subconductors with smaller radii. The novel 500 kV unconventional HSIL line designed in this paper exhibits a potential to enhance the natural power of the line and differ from the conventional HSIL and the conventional lines in having asymmetrical bundled conductor configurations. For this unconventional HSIL line, TVI produced due to corona discharges on and around the line are calculated and compared to the conventional line. As a result of this study, we are taking a step forward toward the development of unconventional HSIL lines for modern power systems that will revolutionize power delivery.

One of the biggest challenges in scalable deployments of massive machine type communication (mMTC) is the efficient, scalable and low-delay security and authentication solutions. MMTC involves Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) and Internet of Energy Things (IoET) in 5G/6G and Next Generation (NextG) Power Systems. Criticality of this challenge is amplified when considering characteristic limitations of typical IIoT & IoET devices and inherent lack of robust built-in security features. Scalable solutions for IIoT dynamic authentication and authorization could address many of the concerns. In this work, we review and propose an architecture for trust management of IIoT/IoET devices in NextG Systems using suitable trust tools and frameworks such as Blockchain. The proposed architecture adopts a two-tier hierarchical Blockchain-based consensus. To support scalability, we examine the benefits of utilizing a directed acyclic graph (DAG) data structure on the Blockchain. © 2023 IEEE.

The use of group classifiers on similar features has resulted in computationally expensive and tedious, making them unsuitable for online applications. The clustering techniques are evaluated for both inter-subject and intra-subject variations, and it is discovered that intra-subject order execution is superior. Another approach to dealing with object recognition from medical images is considered. This is known as similarity matching, and it is a computationally simple process as compared to costly and complex characterization computations. The major challenges that occur in the image processing are high noise levels, limited image resolution, and geometric deformations throughout the image. © 2023 IEEE.

Femtocell network has a great development space in increasing coverage and capacity of wireless network. In order to meet the quality of service (QoS) requirements of MUEs in MBS coverage, we propose a seed channel incentive mechanism in the two-tier femtocell network, where the MBS provides sub-channels to FBSs to motivate them to serve for the MUEs within the MBS coverage. To maximize the energy efficiency of femtocell layer after hybrid access, the optimization problem is modeled. The combined method of worst-case, Dinkelbach and continuous convex approximation is developed to make the optimization problem solvable. In addition, in order to realize the practical application of the proposed scheme, an optimization algorithm combining sub-channel and power allocation is developed. The numerical results show that the proposed algorithm is effective in improving the energy efficiency of the femtocell layer. © 2023 IEEE.

To assess the wind power potential of a specific wind site, a suitable distribution function that best suits the wind data needs to be known. In this study, we employ four probability density functions (PDFs), namely Weibull, Rayleigh, Log-Normal, and Gamma, on wind speed data obtained from two coastal cities in Pakistan, Gwadar and Karachi, to check which one is the best suited. Cities along the coastline of Pakistan offer greater wind speeds and, thus, greater wind power potential. The maximum likelihood technique is used to estimate the parameters of the density distributions. Three statistical measures—Root Mean Squared Error (RMSE), Mean Absolute Error (MAE), and Coefficient of Determination (R2)—are used to assess the goodness of fit for every distribution. These measures give a complete picture of every distribution's correctness in terms of reflecting the recorded wind speed patterns. Numerical results reveal that the Weibull distribution fits well with the wind speeds of the two coastal cities compared to the other three probability distributions, providing insightful analysis for the evaluation of wind resources and possible local energy generation. The MATlab environment is used to compare the distributions and validate the effectiveness of the proposed methodology. ©2024 IEEE.

Electric vehicles (EVs) are a clean, sustainable alternative for transportation energy emissions. Modelling and controlling electric vehicles are gaining interest. PID controllers are widely used for their simplicity, robustness, and practical application. However, there are errors between the controlled signal and the desired signal. This system controls EV speed using sensor feedback supported novel controller based on Dandelion Optimization (DO) and the PID control approach. This article aims to reduce system error between the reference and output signals. The proposed model is compared to PID control, Fire Fly-PID control, Teaching Learning Based Optimization (TLBO)PID control, and Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO)-PID control. Simulation results show the implemented technique outperforms existing methods. It is found that the Integral Absolute Error (IAE) in controlling speed of EV with PID controller is obtained as 0.3028, for PSO-PID controller it is 0. 1 3 7 2, 0. 1 2 2 2 f o r Fire Fly - P I D c o n t r o l l e r, 0.1218 for TLBOPID controller and 0.1114 for proposed DO-PID controller. The LAE in proposed DO-PID controller is 63.2 % less than PID controller, 18.8 % less than PSO-PID controller, 8.83 % less than Fire Fly-PSO controller, 8.53 % less than TLBOPID controller.

In the modern era, the internet is an emerging technology with a rapidly growing user. Sensitive content uploaders consider this platform as a way to transmit disturbing visual content, such as animated cartoon videos to circulate unsuitable content among youngsters. Previous researches show that the interaction of online sensitive information has substantial offline effects on historically impoverished communities. As a result, it is strongly recommended that social media platforms have an automatic real-time sensitive content filtering method for detecting contextual information. In this proposed model, a novel deep-learning framework is developed for detecting sensitive content from contextual information. For this, the suggested architecture performs under three stages (i) text collection, (ii) preprocessing, and (iii) detection. Initially, the required texts from the contextual information are gathered from the standard available data resource. The collected text is subjected to text preprocessing, where the text is cleaned and prepared for further analysis. Finally, in the detection phase, the developed Transformer Residual Bidirectional Long Short-Term Memory (TR-BiLSTM) is employed to learn the effective representation from the preprocessed text and perform the sensitive content detection. Furthermore, performance comparisons are carried out between the proposed frameworks with other standard approaches. The developed architecture achieved better results in detecting the sensitive content from the text. © 2024 IEEE.

We introduce Domain-Adaptive Prompt (DAP), a novel method for continual learning using Vision Transformers (ViT). Prompt-based continual learning has recently gained attention due to its rehearsal-free nature. Currently, the prompt pool, which is suggested by prompt-based continual learning, is key to effectively exploiting the frozen pretrained ViT backbone in a sequence of tasks. However, we observe that the use of a prompt pool creates a domain scalability problem between pre-training and continual learning. This problem arises due to the inherent encoding of group-level instructions within the prompt pool. To address this problem, we propose DAP, a pool-free approach that generates a suitable prompt in an instance-level manner at inference time. We optimize an adaptive prompt generator that creates instance-specific fine-grained instructions required for each input, enabling enhanced model plasticity and reduced forgetting. Our experiments on seven datasets with varying degrees of domain similarity to ImageNet demonstrate the superiority of DAP over state-of-the-art prompt-based methods. Bird identification is an important task in wildlife monitoring and conservation. However, traditional methods for bird identification often require significant computational resources, making them impractical for use on edge computing devices. In this paper, we propose an image mosaicing-based method for bird identification on edge computing devices. Our method combines image mosaicing and deep learning techniques to accurately identify bird species from a series of individual images. It achieves excellent accuracy of 99.51% for ResNet50 and 97.37% for MobileNetV2, depending on the specific use case. These results demonstrate the effectiveness and potential of our approach for real-time bird recognition and identification on edge computing devices, making it suitable for a wide range of applications including monitoring and conservation of bird populations. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.
