Community websites bring many conveniences to people, and the classification of community content is playing an important role in website management and information searching. As the carrier of community content, posts are difficult to classify manually. According to the characteristics of community content, a hybrid classification model for machine learning is proposed. This model consists of three steps. Firstly, aiming at the problem of fewer features of posts, a weighted word vector is proposed to enrich the features of posts. Secondly, since the single kernel function of SVM can not completely match all data distributions, a mixed kernel function is employed to improve the model. Finally, in order to fully utilize the powerful feature extraction ability of Convolutional Neural Network as well as the classification ability of SVM, a hybrid model is designed and implemented by replacing softmax layer with SVM classifier. The corresponding experiment results indicate that compared with traditional Convolutional Neural Network, the proposed hybrid model has better performance and stability with classification accuracy improved from 0.9% to 1.4% in general. © 2021 IEEE.

Streaming Graph Pattern Mining (GPM) has been widely used in many application fields. However, the existing streaming GPM solution suffers from many unnecessary explorations and isomorphism tests, while the existing static GPM ones require many repetitive operations to compute the full graph. In this paper, we propose a pattern-aware incremental execution approach and design the first streaming GPM accelerator called PSMiner, which integrates multiple optimizations to reduce redundant computation and improve computing efficiency. We have conducted extensive experiments. The results show that compared with the state-of-the-art software and hardware solutions, PSMiner achieves the average speedups of 770.9× and 60.4×, respectively.

Modern storage systems typically replicate data on multiple servers to provide high reliability and availability. However, most commercially-deployed datastores often fail to offer low latency, high throughput, and strong consistency at the same time. This paper presents Whale, a Remote Direct Memory Access (RDMA) based primary-backup replication system for in-memory datastores. Whale achieves both low latency and strong consistency by decoupling metadata multicasting from data replication for all backup nodes, and using an optimistic commitment mechanism to respond to client write requests earlier. Whale achieves high throughput by propagating writes from the primary node to backup nodes asynchronously via RDMA-optimized chain replication. To further reduce the cost of data replication, we design a log-structured datastore to fully exploit the advantages of one-sided RDMA and Persistent Memory (PM). We implement Whale on a cluster equipped with PM and InfiniBand RDMA networks. Experimental results show that Whale achieves much higher throughput and lower latency than state-of-the-art replication protocols.

Software systems often encounter various errors or exceptions in practice, and thus proper error handling code is essential to ensure the reliability of software systems. Unfortunately, error handling code is often bug-prone, while sufficiently testing them is challenging as such code often cannot be triggered under normal conditions. Motivated by this, recent studies have proposed to leverage software fault injection (SFI) based fuzzing to discover potential bugs in complicated error handling code. Despite the promising results achieved, their effectiveness and efficiency are still compromised in practice due to the huge search space of error sites, inadequate fuzzing guidance, and the overhead induced by context-sensitive SFI. To achieve effective and efficient testing of error handling code, this study presents AFL-FI, which first utilizes a similarity-based method to identify suspicious error sites, and then incorporates the idea of error site coverage to guide the fuzzing process. Finally, the design of lightweight context-sensitive SFI enables AFL-FI to execute test cases efficiently. We evaluate AFL-FI on eight large-scale open-source projects, and the results show that it can outperform existing state-of-the-art fuzzing tools significantly in terms of branch code coverage. More importantly, AFL-FI has discovered 13 previously unknown bugs, and all of them have been confirmed while 12 of them have been fixed. Besides, our evaluation also demonstrates that all the key designs of AFL-F I are effective that contribute significantly to its overall performance. © 2024 IEEE.

The real academic network belongs to a heterogeneous network, therefore, for the link prediction tasks, some information on the network may be lost if only using homogeneous network methods. In order to make good use of the rich semantic information in a heterogeneous network for better predicting the cooperative relationship between scholars, this paper proposes a cooperative relationship prediction (CoRP) model. The CoRP model includes the following three steps. Firstly, a structural feature extraction module is designed based on meta path by using the similarity metric function to measure the meta path similarity between scholars. Secondly, to overcome the defects that the existing methods usually ignore the attribute information on nodes, three attribute feature presentation functions are constructed to fully utilize the attribute information of scholars in the academic network. In the end, a machine learning classifier which combines the structural similarity and attribute similarity is utilized to learn each attribute feature and complete the task of cooperative relationship prediction. The experimental results reveal that compared with the benchmark method, the proposed method has better performance and interpretability with improvement from 3% to 10% of AUC value for the AMiner academic data set. © 2021 IEEE.

Cloud-based AI services offer numerous benefits but also introduce vulnerabilities, allowing for tampering with deployed DNN models, ranging from injecting malicious behaviors to reducing computing resources. Fingerprint samples are generated to query models to detect such tampering. In this paper, we present Intersecting-Boundary-Sensitive Fingerprinting (IBSF), a novel method for black-box integrity verification of DNN models using only top-1 labels. Recognizing that tampering with a model alters its decision boundary, IBSF crafts fingerprint samples from normal samples by maximizing the partial Shannon entropy of a selected subset of categories to position the fingerprint samples near decision boundaries where the categories in the subset intersect. These fingerprint samples are almost indistinguishable from their source samples. We theoretically establish and confirm experimentally that these fingerprint samples' expected sensitivity to tampering increases with the cardinality of the subset. Extensive evaluation demonstrates that IBSF surpasses existing state-of-the-art fingerprinting methods, particularly with larger subset cardinality, establishing its state-of-the-art performance in black-box tampering detection using only top-1 labels. In the medical realm, the pivotal role of pathological Whole Slide Images (WSIs) in detecting cancer, tracking disease progression, and evaluating treatment efficacy is indisputable. Nevertheless, the identification and quantification of lesion areas in these gigapixel WSIs present a significant challenge due to their substantial size and the intricate details of lesions. To address these issues, we developed a novel multi-resolution and multi-scale cross fusion network (M2CF-Net), adept at managing large-scale pathological WSIs and capturing both fine details and context. Our model particularly focuses on segmenting local lymphocyte infiltration lesions in pathological WSIs of patients diagnosed with primary Sjogren's syndrome. By employing a patch-based training approach and combining interconnected elements via a multi-scale fusion technique, we enhance our model's capacity to detect and analyze structures and features in minor salivary gland section WSIs. Extensive experiments and ablation studies conducted on real-world clinical datasets affirm our model's superior accuracy in identifying lymphocyte-infiltrated regions over state-of-the-art models, with a performance improvement of up to 4.32% in terms of the Dice Similarity Coefficient. © 2023 IEEE.

Transactional stream processing engines (TSPEs) are central to modern stream applications handling shared mutable states. However, their full potential, particularly in adaptive scheduling, remains largely unexplored. We present MorphStream, a TSPE designed to optimize parallelism and performance for transactional stream processing on multicores. Through a unique three-stage execution paradigm (i.e., planning, scheduling, and execution), MorphStream enables adaptive scheduling under varying workload characteristics. Building on this foundation, MorphStream is further enhanced with support for non-deterministic state access, employing a stateful task precedence graph to handle undefined read/write sets at runtime while guaranteeing transaction semantics. Additionally, MorphStream incorporates a generalized framework for managing window-based operations, enabling efficient tracking and maintenance of overlapping windows using multi-versioned state management. These extensions enhance the system's ability to process dynamic and irregular workloads. Experimental results demonstrate up to 3.4 times higher throughput and 69.1% lower latency compared to state-of-the-art TSPEs, validating its scalability and adaptability in real-world streaming scenarios. © 1989-2012 IEEE.

KubeSPT: Stateful Pod Teleportation for Service Resilience with Live Migration

Container orchestration systems, such as Kubernetes, streamline containerized application deployment. As more and more applications are being deployed in Kubernetes, there is an increasing need for rescheduling - relocating a running pod to different nodes - due to system upgrades, node failures, and load-balancing optimizations. Live migration, which transfers services from source nodes to target nodes with minimal downtime, is the ideal support for rescheduling. However, implementing live migration for pods that run stateful services is challenging, because Kubernetes manages pods as stateless. First, the current pod's network namespace initialization process causes a mismatch in the network state between the migrated pod and internal containers. Second, migrating the memory state results in extended downtime. Third, Kubernetes operations on pods do not consider preserving the state of the pods. Therefore, we propose KubeSPT to achieve live migration of stateful pods in rescheduling scenarios. Firstly, we synchronize the network state of pods and internal containers by controlling packet flow and implement fast service redirection. Secondly, we introduce a Hot Data and Lazy-Restore method for memory restoration to reduce migration downtime. Finally, we decouple pod migration operations from other Kubernetes operations to ensure compatibility with live migration. Experimental results show that KubeSPT reduces downtime by 86%-93% compared to current rescheduling methods. © 2008-2012 IEEE.

Write-ahead log and data encryption technologies are employed to ensure both crash consistency and data security for persistent memory (PM). The encryption/decryption of both data and log requests increase the memory request latency, degrading the system performance. To tackle this issue, this paper proposes a novel log-aware memory encryption scheme to reduce encryption/decryption operations, without compromising data security. Specifically, redo log blocks are stored as ciphertext for their corresponding data blocks to avoid encryption/decryption of log data blocks when in-place update operations are applied to them. We further design a compact log record layout with fewer encryption metadata in log records to reduce logging traffic. Our simulation results show that the transaction throughput of the proposed design outperforms the baseline design and the state-of-the-art design by 87.3% and 55.3% on average, respectively. © 2021 IEEE.
