This paper presents a novel path generation method for robotic surface polishing based on point cloud data. In this method, an initial path is first planned to create waypoints via the point cloud. The method estimates the contact area to dynamically adjust initial path points to ensure uniform trajectory coverage on the surface. In this paper, the bilateral tool path generation (BTPG) algorithm is proposed based on a dual-thread strategy to expedite polishing path generation. Further, we introduce a method that generates smooth postures to enhance the stability of the robotic polishing pose. In this work, hybrid force/velocity control scheme is adopted to track polishing path and apply the assigned force on the workpiece freeform surface. Practical experimental results show that the proposed method achieves 95% improvement in path planning time and 85% in smoothness of the robot fourth joint's posture compared with the baseline slicing method. © 2024 IEEE.

Deep neural networks are powerful and popular learning models;however, recent studies have shown that deep neural network-based policies are susceptible to deception by adversarial attacks. A minimalistic attack is a specialized form of adversarial attack that aims to accomplish successful attacks at the lowest possible cost. Recently, transfer optimization algorithms have been applied to deceive previously trained policies by acquiring knowledge from previously solved tasks. Experiments indicate that the transfer optimization algorithms perform well compared to traditional optimization algorithms. However, current transfer algorithms for addressing minimalistic attacks not only select a single source task for knowledge transfer but also tend to overly rely on identified appropriate source tasks. To address this issue, this paper introduces a similar locality based transfer evolutionary optimization algorithm. It can adaptively select multiple source tasks and extract valuable knowledge from these source tasks. Moreover, by leveraging the concept of similar locality, the algorithm alleviates its excessive dependence on familiar tasks, thereby providing fresh knowledge for the optimization of the target task. On this basis, the algorithm can mine more valuable knowledge from the large source task space to achieve a successful attack in a shorter period. The algorithm is tested on three Atari games-BeamRider, Qbert, and Seaquest-demonstrating its ability and potential to outperform other transfer optimization algorithms currently available in solving this problem. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper presents an improved analysis method to design a fault-tolerant controller for positive polynomial fuzzy systems based on static output feedback as well as actuator faults. Firstly, inspired by the property of fault matrix, a new approach of controller design is presented, and some constraint conditions are introduced to guarantee the stability conditions and posi-tivity conditions to be convex simultaneously. Furthermore, by comparing with the existing methods, this method not only can eliminate the binding to the input matrix B, but also is able to provide a wider range of stability region. Besides, to enhance the relaxation of the stability analysis, we introduce the up-to-date Taylor series membership functions (TSMFs) approximation method such that the information embedded in the membership functions and the state boundary information can be taken into the stability conditions. As a result, on the strength of Lyapunov stability theory, the stability analysis is performed via sum-of-squares (SOS) approach. Finally, a simulation example is given to illustrate the effectiveness and reliability of the proposed method. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper presents a novel approach to address the lateral control issue in trajectory tracking for autonomous cars. Traditional model-free adaptive control algorithms have some limitations, prompting the development of an enhanced data-driven model-free adaptive control scheme. More precisely, inside a specified trajectory, the vehicle's issue of lateral control is converted into a problem of tracking the preview-deviation-angle. A dynamic linearized data model is developed for the lateral control of autonomous cars, taking into account the input and output data. To enhance the steering angle control rate, a time-varying proportional control term is incorporated. An enhanced trajectory tracking control technique for the MFAC system is proposed, followed by a demonstration of its convergence. The simulation findings demonstrate that the IMFAC scheme exhibits a superior output response compared to both MFAC and PID in both low-speed and high-speed scenarios. Furthermore, the IMFAC system is capable of achieving autonomous vehicle path tracking. © 2024 SPIE.

Establishing dense correspondences between semantically similar images is a challenging task. Cost aggregation is a crucial step in finding correct dense correspondences, with the goal of optimizing the initial correlation map thereby removing the ambiguity of the correspondences. Current approaches use transformer architectures for cost aggregation, which lack local priors to adequately capture the local information contained in the correlation map. We propose to incorporate peripheral position coding into the transformer to explore the local information to obtain the matching set and call it the Peripheral Transformer Matcher (PTM). This coding technique partitions the overall receptive field of the self-attention mechanism into diverse peripheral regions, each with its own set of weights. By doing this, the proposed PTM gets a specific local prior by adding an inductive bias to the transformer models and making the initial correlation map less confusing. In addition, a local self-attention module is used to enhance the image features and obtain an enhanced initial correlation map. Comparisons of the experimental results with baselines on public datasets demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed PTM. © 2023 IEEE.

With the trend towards larger-scale wind generators, the internal physical field and control strategy of high-capacity generator is becoming increasingly complex. The physical field change law inside the generator is often overlooked by the conventional wind energy conversion system (WECS) model. Therefore, developing a comprehensive and precise WECS model is essential for the safe operating of wind generators. Aiming at the above problems, this paper takes a 5 MW direct-drive permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG) as an example, and establishes a multi-domain coupling model. This approach can be used to investigate how the external characteristics of PMSG change under different operating conditions. Additionally, it has the ability to monitor how eddy currents are distributed in permanent magnets (PM), supporting generator design theoretically. © Beijing Paike Culture Commu. Co., Ltd. 2025.

This paper presents an intelligent maintenance scheduling model for 5G networks using a deep reinforcement learning approach, specifically ECA-DenseNet-DQN. The proposed model optimizes the allocation of maintenance personnel by considering both travel and task completion times, aiming to minimize total task duration. Unlike traditional scheduling methods that often disregard skill levels and workloads of personnel, the model integrates Efficient Channel Attention (ECA) mechanisms into DenseNet to enhance feature extraction capabilities, thereby improving scheduling decisions. Simulation experiments demonstrate the model’s superior performance in reducing task completion time and achieving faster convergence compared to existing algorithms. ©2024 IEEE.

Multi-scale network for single image deblurring based on ensemble learning module

In this paper, we have identified two primary issues with current multi-scale image deblurring methods. On the one hand, the blurring scale is ignored. On the other hand, the context information of images is not fully utilized, and the spatial detail information of images is lost. To better solve the above problems, on top of that, this paper proposes a multi-scale network for single image deblurring. The designed network contains two parts: 1) Ensemble Learning Model: The Weak Learning Model in this module connects multiple weak learners in series to increase network depth. Moreover, through multi-scale feature ensemble module, the output features and intermediate features of different weak learner are integrated, and finally strong learner is used to enhance the features with semantic information at different scales;2) Spatial Feature Enhancement Module: This module can preserve spatial detail information of images and compensate for the disadvantages of losing image spatial details due to continuous downsampling in the Ensemble Learning Model structure. Our proposed deblurring model has been extensively evaluated on several benchmark datasets, and the model achieves superior performance compared to the most advanced deblurring methods. In particular, the peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR) and structural similarity index measure (SSIM) values are 33.57 dB and 0.965 on the GoPro dataset, respectively, with PSNR and SSIM improving by 0.49 dB and 0.002 over NAFNet, and 0.65 dB and 0.004 over Restormer. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2024.

This work presents an adaptive tracking guidance method for robotic fishes. The scheme enables robots to suppress external interference and eliminate motion jitter. An adaptive integral surge line-of-sight guidance rule is designed to eliminate dynamics interference and sideslip issues. Limited-time yaw and surge speed observers are reported to fit disturbance variables in the model. The approximation values can compensate for the system's control input and improve the robots' tracking ***, this work develops a terminal sliding mode controller and third-order differential processor to determine the rotational torque and reduce the robots' run jitter. Then, Lyapunov's theory proves the uniform ultimate boundedness of the proposed method. Simulation and physical experiments confirm that the technology improves the tracking error convergence speed and stability of robotic fishes.
