Fluorescence X-rays have the advantages of good monochromaticity, high flux and stable dose rate. Carried out simulation and experimental studies of fluorescence X-rays in the (4.5 ~ 25.3) KeV energy range. The energy spectra produced by different radiators were simulated using Monte Carlo simulation software to obtain the theoretical spectra. The Kp and L fluorescence X-rays were also filtered in the simulation by choosing different materials of secondary filter materials for each radiator. Measurement experiments were carried out using a HPGe detector to obtain experimental spectra. The simulation results match the experimental results, verifying the correctness of the experimental measurements. The fluorescence yield and Ka fluorescence purity of the radiator were calculated, in which the fluorescence yield of Zn reached percent 95.2 and the purity of Ka fluorescence of Cd reached percent 82.8. The factors affecting the fluorescence yield experiment are the secondary filter corresponding to the radiator, which can be subsequently optimized in the selection of secondary filter. © The Institution of engineering & technology 2024.

The rapid depletion of fossil fuels has raised significant concerns in energy sector. The excessive usage of coal and gas for energy production is polluting our environment and ecosystem which is an alarming situation. Therefore, it is essential to explore renewable resources for energy production to overcome this problem. Water splitting is one of the promising sources of renewable energy production. In water electrolysis, catalysts play an important role;in present work, BiFeO₃/PANI is used as an electrocatalyst for OER. BiFeO₃/PANI composite is a remarkable electrocatalyst for water splitting because of its stability and high catalytic activity. BiFeO₃/PANI was fabricated via solvothermal processes, and its structural, morphological, and functional groups were identified by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscope (SEM), and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. SEM results showed that the BiFeO₃/PANI composite’s surface morphology was flakes that dispersed more evenly across the aggregated nanosheets. The EDS investigation of BiFeO₃/PANI showed that the sample contained C, N, O, Bi, and Fe. To verify the thermal stability, thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) of the BiFeO₃/PANI was carried out at temperatures ranging from 25 to 700 °C. TGA technique confirms the thermal stability of composite. The enhanced surface area and higher conductivity of the composite indicate its efficient OER performance. The synthesized materials were tested for their electrochemical performances in an alkaline medium (KOH), and nanocomposite BiFeO₃/PANI showed exceptional OER capabilities, like less overpotential (278 mV). In addition to facilitating electron transport, the electrocatalyst achieves a low Tafel value (37.83 mV s⁻¹) and exhibits extended durability even after 2500 cycles. The energy response of the NaI(TI) scintillation detector has been experimentally investigated by a single-crystal monochromatic X-rays beam facility, a double-crystal monochromatic X-rays beam facility and a calibrated HPGe standard detector. The experimental results show that the NaI detector has great energy linearity in the (22-80)keV energy range and the energy resolution better than 26.13%@22keV. These results will contribute to the scientific research and detection work of NaI detector. © 2022 IET Conference Proceedings. All rights reserved.

In this paper, the mathematical and the state space model of the electro-hydraulic joint load sensitive pressure system are established. Combined with the perfect performance on optimization of RBF neural network and sliding mode variable structure control algorithm in the complex hydraulic system, this paper proposes a RBF neural network adaptive sliding-mode control algorithm. This paper designs a controller with the electro-hydraulic proportional overflow valve as the control object. The simulation results show that the RBF neural network adaptive sliding-mode controller has the advantages of high control accuracy, excellent dynamic response property and strong robustness in the complex electro-hydraulic system. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

3D object detection technology is of great significance to realize intelligent perception and ensure the production safety of a workshop. Existing 3D object detection relies on large-scale, high-quality 3D annotation data and is unsuitable for actual workshop scenes’ perception. This paper proposes a multi-modal feature fusion 3D object detection method (MFF3D) for a production workshop. The design of MFF3D includes the following steps: (1) Improved YOLOv3 attains the 2D prior region of an object, and RGB-D saliency detection obtains the object image pixels in that region. (2) Depth image pixels corresponding to the object are projected to generate the object's frustum point cloud, and a multi-modal feature fusion strategy simplifies the object's frustum point cloud, so as to remove outlier points and reduce the number of point clouds. This can replace the 3D object reasoning process based on deep neural networks;(3) An axis-aligned bounding box algorithm is used to generate the object's 3D bounding box, and principal component analysis algorithm (PCA) is used to calculate the object's pose information. MFF3D is applied in the workshop, and experiments verify the feasibility and detection accuracy. We set up a production workshop object dataset (PWOD) for experimental evaluation. In the case of a small amount of 2D annotation data and no 3D annotation data, experimental results show that when the threshold value of intersection over union of 3D object (IoU3D) is 0.5, the mean average precision value of 3D object (mAP3D) reaches 60.31, and the detection speed reaches 3 FPS. MFF3D does not rely on 3D annotation data and can effectively detect objects of a production workshop. © 2021 Elsevier B.V.

In P2P network, the search function of file resources is one of the important reasons for its rapid development. It brings users convenience and is faced with many safety problems as well. This paper presents a P2P file search system based on the RealPeer framework and a P2P system performance test platform is simulated. Using the CL-PKC security authentication mechanism and LDAP, the search system has realized the peer identification and the effective authentication for the file information transferred, and has ensured the integrity and reliability of data. It provides a new solution for the P2P network file search system. © 2011 IEEE.

The Vickers hardness test has been widely used for neutron-irradiated materials and nanoindentation for ion-irradiated *** the Vickers hardness and nanohardness of the same materials quantitatively and establishing a correlation between them is *** this study,five representative materials—pure titanium(Ti),nickel(Ni),tungsten(W),304 coarse-grained stainless steel(CG-SS)and 304 nanocrystalline austenitic stainless steel(NG-SS)—are investigated for *** results show that the relationship between Vickers hardness and nanohardness does not conform to a mathematical geometric relationship because of sink-in and pile-up effects confirmed by finite element analysis(FEA)and the results of optical ***,one new method was developed by excluding the effects of sink-in and pile-up in *** this improved correction in the projected area of the Vickers hardness and nanohardness,the two kinds of hardness become identical.

An Improvement of Russo’s Fuzzy Noise-Filtering for Image Processing

We adapted Russo＇s image noise filtering technique by introducing an adaptive parameter, noise possibility. This parameter potentially indicates whether a pixel is noise. The improved Russo＇s method was applied to process the Lena image and a remote sensing image corrupted by noise. The results show that it has a stronger noise filtering ability than other traditional techniques such as Wiener filtering.

Theoretical studies on the complexation of uranyl with typical carboxylate and amidoximate ligands

Understanding of the bonding nature of uranyl and various ligands is the key for designing robust sequestering agents for uranium extraction from seawater. In this paper thermodynamic properties related to the complexation reaction of uranyl（VI） in aqueous solution （i.e. existing in the form of UO2（H20）52＋） by several typical ligands （L） including acetate （CH3CO2）, bicar- bonate （HOCO2-）, carbonate （CO32-）, CH3（NH2）CNO- （acetamidoximate, AO-） and glutarimidedioximate （denoted as GDO2-） have been investigated by using relativistic density functional theory （DFT）. The geometries, vibrational frequencies, natural net charges, and bond orders of the formed uranyl-L complexes in aqueous solution are studied. Based on the DFT analysis we show that the binding interaction between uranyl and amidoximate ligand is the strongest among the selected complexes. The thermodynamics of the complexation reaction are examined, and the calculated results show that complexation of uranyl with amidoximate ligands is most preferred thermodynamically. Besides, reaction paths of the substitution complexation of solvated uranyl by acetate and AO have been studied, respectively. We have obtained two minima along the reaction path of solvated uranyl with acetate, the monodentate-acetate complex and the bidentate-acetate one, while only one minimum involving monodentate-AO complex has been located for AO- ligand. Comparing the energy barriers of the two reaction paths, we find that complexation of uranyl with AO is more difficult in kinetics, though it is more preferable in thermodynamics. These results show that theoretical studies can help to select efficient ligands with fine-tuned thermodynamic and kinetic properties for binding uranyl in seawater.
