This paper presents a hybrid optimization model for predicting the elemental contents such as Ti, V and Fe in energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence (EDXRF) based on least square support vector machine (LS-SVM) and particle swarm optimization (PSO) methods. The model used PSO to optimize LS-SVM parameters. In order to assess the capability and effectiveness of the proposed model, several measurement methods such as SVM model and BP neural network model were compared. The results indicate that the proposed model is feasible for quantitative analysis of elemental contents in nondestructive nuclear measurement applications. © 2012 IEEE.

This paper presents a hybrid Support Vector Machine (SVM) and Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) model for predicting alpha particles emitting contamination on the internal surfaces of decommissioned channels. Six measuring parameters (channel diameter, channel length, distance to radioactive source, radioactive strength, wind speed and flux) and one ionizing value have been obtained via experiments. These parameters show complex linear and nonlinear relationships to measuring results. The model used PSO to optimize SVM parameters. The comparison of computational results of the hybrid approach with normal BP networks confirms its clear advantage for dealing with this complex nonlinear prediction. © 2012 Springer-Verlag.

Applying Energy-Dispersive X-Ray Fluorescence Analysis to Detect Tungsten Inclusions in nuclear Fuel Rod End Plug TIG Welds

This study proposes a new method of detecting tungsten inclusions in nuclear fuel rod upper-end plug welds using energy-dispersive X-ray fluorescence (EDXRF) analysis. The Monte Carlo simulation method was used to simulate the process of detecting tungsten inclusions in nuclear fuel rod upper-end plug welds by the EDXRF. The detectable tungsten particle diameters in the zirconium alloy at different depths in welds and the detection limits of the trace tungsten dispersed in welds were obtained. Then, we constructed an experimental device that uses a CdTe detector with an X-ray tube. The results showed that the relative standard deviation of the net count rate of tungsten K-series characteristic X-rays [W (Kα)] was 1.46%, and the optimum parameters are a tube voltage of 150 kV and current of 0.5 mA. These values were used to perform energy-dispersive X-ray fluorescence analysis. These results were compared to the X-ray radiographic results, which were broadly similar. Furthermore, the results of EDXRF analysis were more legible and reliable than those from X-ray radiographic inspections. This study demonstrates the feasibility of applying EDXRF analysis to detect tungsten inclusions. © 2021 Runqiu Gu et al.

Detailed studies about the deformation principles and processing mechanisms of bamboo sheet cell cube are theoretical foundation to realize mechanization, automation and informatization of bamboo products manufacturing, and also the key to develop different kinds of bamboo knit machine. For internal stress and external torques needed here are changing constantly during all the time of bamboo sheet's bending and ring up, this paper use ANSYS software to establish a finite element analysis model for a piece of bamboo sheet which is in 450 mm length, 16 mm wide and 1mm thickness, and study its mechanical properties under different torques. The model shows the stress distribution and bamboo deformation regular patterns, which reveals the relations between revolving control positions and the needed moments of the two pairs of revolving tongs. Based on these studies, a pair of adjustable revolving tongs applying on a special bamboo shaping machine which can automatically shape 20 pieces of bamboo sheets simultaneously without slipping was innovative developed.

Research of single pulse trapezoidal shaping algorithm in digital nuclear spectrum measurement

In order to improve the performance of digital spectrum measuring instrument, efficient recursive algorithm is used to achieve fast digital pulse shaping, and real-time trapezoidal pulse instead of the traditional analog pulse, so that the subsequent amplitude extraction and peak amplitude accumulation processing become easier. According to the experimental verification, realization of this technique improves the performance of spectrum measuring instrument. Especially the single pulse trapezoidal shaping technology make the energy resolution of the spectrum measuring instrument significantly improved. © 2016 American Scientific Publishers All rights reserved.

The coupling relationship of the hydraulic drilling rig, as a complex mechanical system with mechanical-electric-hydraulic, is very important to its working performance. The internal leakage of the hydraulic motor (a direct drive component of the drilling rig) is easy to appear and difficult to be directly observed, so it is especially important to analyze the working performance of the drilling rig under the internal leakage condition of the hydraulic motor. This paper focuses on the analysis of mechanical-electric-hydraulic dynamics of hydraulic drilling rig under no loading and loading. Firstly, a coupling dynamics model of the drilling rig is established theoretically and then the dynamic response of the drilling rig is analyzed by simulation. Secondly, the leakage sensitivity simulation and analysis of hydraulic motor is performed to explore the impact of the internal leakage of the hydraulic motor on the dynamic response of the drilling rig. Finally, a dynamic response test platform of the drilling rig is built, the experiment result agrees better with the simulation result under different leakage ratios of the hydraulic motor, and the leakage ratio of the hydraulic motor is sensitive to the rotational speed and load torque of the drilling rig. © 2020, Chinese Mechanical engineering Society. Gradient boosted decision tree is a supervised learning algorithm model constructed by improving tree structure, replacing residual with gradient and using the concept of entropy in informatics. GBDT produces classification bias due to the imbalance of the sample. Therefore, we propose a way to accelerate the output quality of a decision tree by combining linear regression and GBDT and preprocessing sample data through linear regression before training. In the experiment, the new algorithm is applied to the nonlinear classification decision. It is found that the regression coefficient of the apportion of independent directors is 0.034, the regression coefficient is 0.712, the regression coefficient for table size is 0.197, the regression coefficient for the size of the board of directors is -0.197, and the regression coefficient for the share of institutional investors is -0.018. The regression coefficient for the institutional investor share is -0.018. It is found that this algorithm effectively improves classification accuracy and has good practical value.

The continual rise in energy consumption has become a significant issue for power systems. Hence it is important to promote energy saving and reduce consumption for solving this problem. Also, finding solutions to enhance energy efficiency is crucial due to the increase in global energy demand. To improve the effectiveness of a power system network, it is important to monitor, manage, and regulate electrical energy needs on a real-time consumption basis. The development of smart homes includes energy management as a key component. A reliable appliance load monitoring (ALM) system is important for the smart energy management framework. ALM's objectives include achieving comprehensive energy sensing and disseminating data on energy use. This will make it possible for automated energy management systems to identify appliances that use higher energy. Thereby enabling them to implement energy saving methods such as rescheduling the high power demand to off-peak hours. Non-intrusive load monitoring (NILM) is one of the most popular energy management strategies in recent years. It enables customers and industries to effectively control their energy use. Utilizing a single energy meter, the NILM technology has gained popularity as an emerging method for tracking events (on/off) and energy use of electrical services and appliances in buildings. Consumers might better understand their appliance behaviour and take the appropriate actions to reduce energy consumption with the aid of information on energy consumption at the appliance level. Hence, the main objective of this paper is to present a comprehensive review of energy management monitoring approaches with an emphasis on non-intrusive load monitoring. © 2022 IEEE.

Rising ocean temperatures affect the distribution of fish. The livelihoods of many small Scottish fishing companies have also been affected. We designed a fish migration prediction model, a system that predicts fish migration and helps small fishing companies make decisions. First, we creatively proposed the neural network algorithm modified to establish habitat evaluation model based on previous environmental data. Then, the gray prediction algorithm is used to predict the environmental data of each water area in the next 50 years, and the best habitat location of each year is evaluated by the evaluation model based on the environmental data. The migration route of the fish can be obtained by summarizing the best habitats each year in chronological order. We use the knowledge of graph theory to establish a "fishing judgment model"to determine whether small fisheries companies can catch fish in their fishing range. Then we use a triple nested loop to establish a continuous time calculation model, and use this model to discuss the continuous fishing time of a fishing company located in a certain place from a certain year in the future © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.
