The PandaX-4T experiment, a four-ton scale dark matter direct detection experiment, is being planned at the China Jinping Underground Laboratory. In this paper we present a simulation study of the expected background in this experiment. In a 2.8-ton fiducial mass and the signal region between 1 to 10 keV electron equivalent energy, the total electron recoil background is found to be 4.9·10−5 (kg·day·keV)−1. The nuclear recoil background in the same region is 2.8·10−7 (kg·day· keV)−1. With an exposure of 5.6 ton-years, the sensitivity of PandaX-4T could reach a minimum spin-independent dark matter-nucleon cross section of 6 · 10−48 cm2 at a dark matter mass of 40 GeV/c2. Density Functional Theory for the Investigation of Catalytic Activity of X@Cu_(12)(X = Cu, Ni, Co, or Fe) for N_2O Decomposition

We have investigated the reaction mechanism for N20 decomposition on Cu13 via density functional theory. It is found that N20 decomposition on the cluster is more prone to be along the Eley-Rideal （ER） pathway in comparison with the Langmuir-Hinshelwood （LH） channel. There exists structural relaxation for Cu13 cluster in the reaction, which may influence the catalytic activity of cluster for the subsequent N2O decomposition. The core atom in the Cu13 cluster is substituted with the Fe, Co, or Ni to enhance structural stability and prevent from the obvious configuration relaxation in the reaction. Note that these bimetallic clusters are of icosahedra as the Cu13. They have activities for N2O dissociation along ER pathway and the heteroatorn in the cluster can prevent configuration from relaxation. Finally, the Ni@Cu12 cluster can be as a superior catalyst in a complete catalytic cycle via comparison in this study.

We report the results of searches for solar axions and galactic dark matter axions or axionlike particles with the CDEX-1 experiment at the China Jinping Underground Laboratory, using 335.6 kg days of data from a p-type point-contact germanium detector. The data are compatible with the background model, and no excess signals are observed. Limits of solar axions on the model-independent coupling gAe<2.5×10−11 from Compton, bremsstrahlung, atomic-recombination, and deexcitation channels and gANeff×gAe<6.4×10−17 from a Fe57 M1 transition at 90% confidence level are derived. Within the framework of the Dine-Fischler-Srednicki-Zhitnitskiy and Kim-Shifman-Vainshtein-Zakharov models, our results exclude the axion mass heavier than 0.9 and 177 eV/c2, respectively. The derived constraints for dark matter axions below 1 keV improve over the previous results.

Energy margin based on Lyapunov direct method has been considered as an important index to quantify the transient stability of power system. Especially its on-line application has been paid much attention. Based on the classical equations of rotor motion, the transient energy function model is first established in this paper. Then the converting relationship between the potential energy boundary surface and the stability region characteristics is described. Based on these, the second kick method and the interpolation method based on the property of potential energy boundary are combined to calculate the maximum of the potential energy. At last, the energy margin model is established based on the maximum of potential energy and the transient energy. The simulation results in three-machine and IEEE-30 bus system and the comparison with CUEP verify the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed method, which can be used in off-line assessment of transient stability of power system. © 2016 Taylor & Francis Group, London.

A type of bogie structure was proposed for the eight-axle locomotive, of which the middel bogie forme was used to connect the two B0 bogie and support the car body with three suspensions.A single drawbar connect the B0 bogie and car body directly to transfer the longitudinal *** structure is simple and feasibility, which can achieve high adhesion availabillity and good dynamic *** suspension can achieve a excellent stability of car *** with a same speed and axle load class 2C0 locomotive, the wheelset lateral force and wheel rim wear factor are reduced by about 35% at the R300 m small radius curves, and the wheelset lateral force is decreased by 15%, and the rim wear factor is reduced by 23% at the R800 m curves.

We report the first result on 76Ge neutrinoless double beta decay from CDEX-1 experiment at China Jinping Underground Laboratory. A mass of 994 g p-type point-contact high purity germanium detector has been installed to search the neutrinoless double beta decay events, as well as to directly detect dark matter particles. An exposure of 304 kg∙day has been analyzed. The wideband spectrum from 500 keV to 3 MeV was obtained and the average event rate at the 2.039 MeV energy range is about 0.012 count per keV per kg per day. The half-life of 76Ge neutrinoless double beta decay has been derived based on this result as: T0v1/2 > 6.4×1022 yr (90% C.L.). An upper limit on the effective Majorana-neutrino mass of 5.0 eV has been achieved. The possible methods to further decrease the background level have been discussed and will be pursued in the next stage of CDEX experiment. Copyright © 2017, The Authors. All rights reserved.

The friction and wear properties of a contact strip in a contact strip rubbing against a contact wire were studied.A series of experimental tests on the vibration between the contact strip and contact wire were conducted on a high-speed block-on-ring tester under the conditions of electric current of 0 A and 250 A,sliding speed of 200~350 km/h and normal loads of 120 *** electron microscopy (SEM) and optical microscopy (OM) were used to observe morphology of the wom *** results indicate that the vibration of the contact strip is aggravated with increasing sliding *** contrast with those without electric current, the friction coefficient of the strip against the contact wire decreases and the wear rate increases obviously with increasing sliding *** the increase of the sliding speed, the contact surface temperature between the strip and contact wire with electric current grows *** arc discharge becomes stronger and stronger with the sliding speed, which results in aggravated arc erosion wear on the surface of the *** wear and arc erosion wear are two main wear mechanisms for the strip against contact wire with electric current of 250 A when the sliding speed is bigger than 250 km/h.

We report results of a search for light weakly interacting massive particle (WIMP) dark matter from the CDEX-1 experiment at the China Jinping Underground Laboratory (CJPL). Constraints on WIMP-nucleon spin-independent (SI) and spin-dependent (SD) couplings are derived with a physics threshold of 160 eVee, from an exposure of 737.1 kg-days. The SI and SD limits extend the lower reach of light WIMPs to 2 GeV and improve over our earlier bounds at WIMP mass less than 6 GeV. Copyright © 2017, The Authors. All rights reserved.

The Power Grid Probabilistic Vulnerability Evaluation Considering the Stochastic Perturbations of Wind Farm

Considering the stochastic volatility of load and wind farm, stochastic outage rate of generator, based on the combination of Cumulant and Gram-Charlier series (CGC), a new evaluation method for probabilistic vulnerability of transmission network is proposed. Firstly, the three-parameter Weibull distribution is adapted to describe the random variation of wind speed and the probabilistic model for wind turbine generator system is established. And then, in order to avoid complicating convolution and improve the computational speed, the vulnerability index of nodes and branches in power grid is proposed with the combination of Cumulant and Gram-Charlier series. Furthermore, the K-means clustering algorithm is adapted to evaluate the vulnerability of nodes and branches. The simulation results in IEEE30 bus system show that the proposed method can lead to a reliable and effective evaluation result.

The application of neural network PID controller to control the light gasoline etherification

Light gasoline etherification technology can effectively improve the quality of gasoline, which is environmental- friendly and economical. By combining BP neural network and PID control and using BP neural network self-learning ability for online parameter tuning, this method optimizes the parameters of PID controller and applies this to the Fcc gas flow control to achieve the control of the final product- heavy oil concentration. Finally, through MATLAB simulation, it is found that the PID control based on BP neural network has better controlling effect than traditional PID control.
