This paper presents the findings of the workshop "New approaches to evacuation modelling", which took place on the 11th of June 2017 in Lund (Sweden)within the Symposium of the International Association for Fire Safety Science (IAFSS). The workshop gathered international experts in the field of fire evacuation modelling from 19 different countries and was designed to build a dialogue between the fire evacuation modelling world and experts in areas outside of fire safety engineering. The contribution to fire evacuation modelling of five topics within research disciplines outside fire safety engineering (FSE)have been discussed during the workshop, namely 1)Psychology/Human Factors, 2)Sociology, 3)applied mathematics, 4)Transportation, 5)Dynamic Simulation and Biomechanics. The benefits of exchanging information between these two groups are highlighted here in light of the topic areas discussed and the feedback received by the evacuation modelling community during the workshop. This included the feasibility of development/application of modelling methods based on fields other than FSE as well as a discussion on their implementation strengths and limitations. Each subject area is here briefly presented and its links to fire evacuation modelling are discussed. The feedback received during the workshop is discussed through a set of insights which might be useful for the future developments of evacuation models for fire safety engineering. © 2019

Tactics Techniques and Procedures (TTPs) in cyber domain is an important threat information that describes the behavior and attack patterns of an adversary. Timely identification of associations between TTPs can lead to effective strategy for diagnosing the Cyber Threat Actors (CTAs) and their attack vectors. This study profiles the prevalence and regularities in the TTPs of CTAs. We developed a machine learning-based framework that takes as input Cyber Threat Intelligence (CTI) documents, selects the most prevalent TTPs with high information gain as features and based on them mine interesting regularities between TTPs using Association Rule Mining (ARM). We evaluated the proposed framework with publicly available TTPbased CTI documents. The results show that there are 28 TTPs more prevalent than the other TTPs. Our system identified 155 interesting association rules among the TTPs of CTAs. A summary of these rules is given to effectively investigate threats in the network. © 2018 IEEE.

We prove spatiotemporal algebraically decaying estimates for the density of the solutions of the linearly damped nonlinear Schrödinger equation with localized driving, when supplemented with vanishing boundary conditions. Their derivation is made via a scheme, which incorporates suitable weighted Sobolev spaces and a time-weighted energy method. Numerical simulations examining the dynamics (in the presence of physically relevant examples of driver types and driving amplitude/linear loss regimes), showcase that the suggested decaying rates, are proved relevant in describing the transient dynamics of the solutions, prior their decay: they support the emergence of waveforms possessing an algebraic space-time localization (reminiscent of the Peregrine soliton) as first events of the dynamics, but also effectively capture the space-time asymptotics of the numerical solutions. Theoretical concepts of graphs are highly utilized by computer science applications. Especially in research areas of computer science such as data mining, image segmentation, clustering, image capturing and networking. The interval-valued fuzzy graphs are more flexible and compatible than fuzzy graphs due to the fact that they have many applications in networks. In this paper, at first we define three new operations on interval-valued fuzzy graphs namely strong product, tensor product and lexicographic product. Likewise, we study about the degree of a vertex in interval-valued fuzzy graphs which are obtained from two given interval-valued fuzzy graphs using the operations Cartesian product, composition, tensor and strong product of two interval-valued fuzzy graphs. These operations are highly utilized by computer science, geometry, algebra, number theory and operation research. In addition to the existing operations these properties will also be helpful to study large interval-valued fuzzy graph as a combination of small, interval-valued fuzzy graphs and to derive its properties from those of the smaller ones. © 2018 - IOS Press and the authors. The physiological functions and pathological features of the vessel are related to its mechanical environment, and the mechanical properties of vessel have played the important role in the cardiovascnlar and cerebrovascular diseases. In order to quantify residual strains in aortic arch ultimately, elliptic curve fitness method which combines computerized measurements of images, are presented. And the cross-sectional configuration parameters of rabbit aortic arch in the non-loaded state, such as semi major/minor axis, thickness of arterial wall, were measured. The results of the experiment and measurement indicate that aortic arch in the non-loaded state is elliptic cross-section in its curved section but is circular cross section in its straight section. Furthermore, the whole aortic arch is cone-shaped in axial direction, which agrees well with the physiologic practice. Simultaneously, circumferential distribution of averaged thickness is nearly uniform in the non-loaded state. However, axial distribution of averaged thickness is not uniform any longer. All these results are the necessary information for further research on the mechanical features of the vessel, and corresponding numerical investigation of residual strains in vessels will be carried out in subsequent work.

Existing works considered the level-wise method to find the high average-utility sequential patterns at different levels, which may cause higher computations and the huge memory requirements. To solve the previous problem of high average-utility sequential pattern mining, a project-based algorithm called PMiner is presented here to speed up the mining efficiency compared to the previous work. Also, the developed PMiner concerns not only the average-utility on the sequential data but also the data in the uncertain environment (i.e., Internet of Things). Several experiments are then evaluated to show that the proposed algorithm achieves promising performance compared to the level-wise model.

We propose a generic transformation that can convert any nonbinary (n=k{+}r,k)maximum distance separable (MDS) code into another (n,k) MDS code over the same field such that: 1) some arbitrarily chosen r nodes have the optimal repair bandwidth and the optimal rebuilding access;2) for the remaining k nodes, the normalized repair bandwidth and the normalized rebuilding access (over the file size) are preserved;and 3) the sub-packetization level is increased only by a factor of r. Two immediate applications of this generic transformation are then presented. The first application is that we can transform any nonbinary MDS code with the optimal repair bandwidth or the optimal rebuilding access for the systematic nodes only, into a new MDS code which possesses the corresponding repair optimality for all nodes. The second application is that by applying the transformation multiple times, any nonbinary (n,k) scalar MDS code can be converted into an (n,k) MDS code with the optimal repair bandwidth and the optimal rebuilding access for all nodes, or only a subset of nodes, whose sub-packetization level is also optimal. © 1963-2012 IEEE.

In this paper, new brain tumour detection method is discovered whereby the normal slices are disassembled from the abnormal ones. Three main phases are deployed including the extraction of the cerebral tissue, the detection of abnormal block and the mechanism of fine-tuning and finally the detection of abnormal slice according to the detected abnormal blocks. Through experimental tests, progress made by the suggested means is assessed and verified. As a result, in terms of qualitative assessment, it is found that the performance of proposed method is satisfactory and may contribute to the development of reliable MRI brain tumour diagnosis and treatments. © The Authors, published by EDP Sciences, 2018.

The research we are pursuing here is about building a system which we will use and mine a movie review database using concepts of statistics like Euclidean Distance algorithm. This will help us determine similar review according to the ratings. What we plan on achieving through this approach is to analyze the reviews to suggest a suitable critic according to one's preferences and one's taste. We will do this according to the review we select and our algorithm which we use upon it. This algorithm will be the key to find those similar reviews. We are going to use Python programming to program this experiment. We have chosen to pursue this because of not the reviewers being incorrect or correct but merely different according to their preferences and their lean towards a certain genre and we know that a reviewer should also match the taste of the person who want to feel benefited of the review itself. So, we plan to make system that could help with that.

Fractal antennas have and are continuing to receive attention in regard to the future of wireless communications. This is because of their wide- and multi-band capabilities, the opportunity of fractal geometries to drive multiple resonances, and, the ability to make smaller and lighter antennas with fewer components and radiative elements with higher gains. Small scale (i.e. on the micro- and nano-scale) and ultra high frequency (in the Terahertz or THz range) fractal antennas composed of Graphene have the potential to enhance wireless communications at a data rate that is unprecedented, i.e. ∼ 1012 bits per second. A Fractal Graphene antenna is a high-frequency tuneable antenna for radio communications in the THz spectrum, enabling unique applications such as wireless nano-networks. This is because (mono-layer) Graphene is a one-atom-thick two-dimensional allotrope of Carbon with the highest known electrical conductivity that is currently unavailable in any other material, including metals such as Gold and Silver. Thus, combining the properties of Graphene with the self-affine characteristics of a fractal at the micro- and nano-scale, provides the potential to revolutionise communications, at least in the near field (the order of a few metres) for low power systems. In this paper, we consider the basic physics and some of the principle mathematical models associated with the development of this new disruptive technology in order to provide a guide to those engaged in current and future research, a fractal Graphene antenna being an example of an advanced material for demanding applications. This includes some example simulations on the THz field patterns generated by a fractal patch antenna composed of Graphene whose conductivity is taken to scale with the inverse of the frequency according to a 'Drude' model. The approach to generating THz sources using Graphene is also explored based on Infrared laser pumping to induce a THz photo-current.
