Even though numerous ICT-based solutions have been put forth for the detection of accidents and rescue missions, they often suffer from compatibility issues with different vehicles and are accompanied by high costs. This paper introduces a cutting-edge intelligent system designed for accident detection and rescue, mirroring human cognitive functions through integrating the Internet of Things (IoT) and artificial intelligence. A specialized kit for IoT has been created to identify accidents and gather comprehensive incident-related data, such as pressure, position, gravitational force, and speed. This information is then transmitted to the cloud for processing. A deep learning model is implemented in the cloud environment to verify the IoT module's output and activate the rescue mechanism when an accident is detected. The DL module, employing ensemble transfer learning with dynamic weights, aims to minimize false detection rates. Because there isn't an appropriate dataset available, a personalized dataset is generated from diverse online videos. To validate the proposed method, a comparative analysis is conducted on Yolo V4. Experimental results indicate that Yolo V4 outperforms, achieving training, validation, and test accuracies of 98.2% each. Detecting data manipulation errors in android applications using scene-guided exploration

Data manipulation functionalities (DMFs) refer to operations such as create, read, update and delete which are crucial for maintaining the integrity of Android application (app) data. Existing testing techniques often fail to explicitly verify DMFs in combination, having limited capability to uncover non-crashing data manipulation errors (DMEs). In this paper, we propose a novel approach SceneData, which utilizes a scene-guided exploration strategy to effectively detect DMEs in Android apps. Particularly, we model the UI pages as scenes and present a scene transition graph (SceneTG) to capture the relation between scenes. By utilizing SceneTG, we explore app states to thoroughly validate DMFs across different scenes. We evaluate SceneData on 17 popular real-world apps, and SceneData discovers 25 previously unknown bugs in their latest releases, 21 of which are non-crashing DMEs. The experiments also show that a significant fraction (15/21) of these bugs cannot be detected by the state-of-the-art techniques. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2025.

The rapid advancement of deepfake technology has introduced significant challenges and opportunities across various domains. This article proposes a robust deepfake detection pipeline utilising a combination of attention mechanisms, pre-trained Vision Transformers (ViTs), and Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) networks. The initial phase of the pipeline involves preparing photos and videos, potentially using optional facial detection to enhance accuracy. Vision Transformers derive features by capturing the global dependencies of input data. Long short-term memory (LSTM) networks address inter-frame temporal dependencies, whereas multi-head and traditional attention processes focus on essential elements. Ultimately, fully connected layers are employed for classification within the ensemble architecture, which consolidates the outcomes of several models. To ensure generalisability, assessment and regularisation approaches are employed to train the model using labelled datasets. Given the escalating threat of deepfakes, the findings indicate that the pipeline can consistently distinguish between genuine and fabricated information. © 2025 The Authors

The rapid growth of machine learning(ML)across fields has intensified the challenge of selecting the right algorithm for specific tasks,known as the Algorithm Selection Problem(ASP).Traditional trial-and-error methods have become impractical due to their resource *** Machine Learning(AutoML)systems automate this process,but often neglect the group structures and sparsity in meta-features,leading to inefficiencies in algorithm recommendations for classification *** paper proposes a meta-learning approach using Multivariate Sparse Group Lasso(MSGL)to address these *** method models both within-group and across-group sparsity among meta-features to manage high-dimensional data and reduce multicollinearity across eight meta-feature *** Fast Iterative Shrinkage-Thresholding Algorithm(FISTA)with adaptive restart efficiently solves the non-smooth optimization *** validation on 145 classification datasets with 17 classification algorithms shows that our meta-learning method outperforms four state-of-the-art approaches,achieving 77.18%classification accuracy,86.07%recommendation accuracy and 88.83%normalized discounted cumulative gain.

In the context of Intelligent Transportation systems (ITS), the role of vehicle detection and classification is indispensable for streamlining transportation management, refining traffic control, and conducting in-depth accident analyses. However, the intricate task of accurately detecting multi-oriented vehicles in diverse scenarios remains a challenge, even with the advancements in ITS. Factors such as vehicle morphology, design, road conditions, structural details, and climatic variables provide a significant part in the detection. To address this, our study introduces an advanced YOLOv8n model, specifically the YOLOv8n-CGW, which is built upon pre-trained deep learning frameworks. This model is meticulously tailored to enhance the detection capabilities for multi-oriented vehicles. Comprehensive evaluations on esteemed datasets like MtV, MERGED, Custom dataset, DAWN, WEDGE, and UA-DETRAC underscore the superiority of our approach over existing models. Notably, our YOLOv8n-CGW model achieves a remarkable mAP of 83.3% and boasts a swift inference time of 0.0019s, setting a new benchmark in the domain. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2024.

Wireless sensor networks, the dynamic networks with spatially dispersed sensors are used indispensably in a wide range of applications. Heterogeneous wireless sensor networks represent a collection of sensor nodes of varying capabilities. However, if the energy in the network is not handled effectively, the resource-constrained sensors may reach an early death, affecting the network lifetime. Security and routing are the two vital phenomena in wireless sensor networks that need careful and effective algorithmic execution. The proposed approach is an energy-aware routing algorithm combined with secure data transmission. TDDSRP is an innovative protocol to ensure security while reducing energy consumption. The residual energy and the direct trust value of nodes are crucial parameters to evaluate the energy trust value. The effectiveness of the protocol is tested against the existing counterparts using MATLAB simulations. Nowadays, the risk estimators are to be applied based on the population characteristics of their country, which is termed as race attribute. There were specific tools to determine the risk of cardiovascular disease. Among many diseases, the mortality rate of the people is increasing due to a lack of quality lifestyle. In order to provide a guide to the individual based on their specific characteristics and lifestyle, would classify the risk into specific categories like severe (High), Moderate, and normal(Low) with pre-defined threshold constraints. The risk assessment estimators alert the individual to control certain modifiable attributes irrespective of their non-modifiable elements. The integration of random forests and intelligent rule mining would generate the CVD risk prediction. Efficiency as well as interpretability are important in this competitive hybrid model. The ultimate benefits assured are extending the lives of the patients by knowing the importance of daily work, habits, and their control food, presenting a powerful opportunity by practicing better personalization monitoring and improved patient care, and improved informed decisions for immediate action. The early prevention initiation by identifying the risk severity optimizes follow-up of better practices and treatment styles, resulting in improved decision making for better health care of the individual. © 2025 IEEE.

Label-Free Biomolecule Detection With InP/AlGaAs Charge Plasma Dielectric-Modulated Vertical TFET Using TaN as Metal Gate

This study introduces a label-free biosensing method for biomolecule detection utilizing an InP/AlGaAs charge plasma dielectric-modulated vertical tunnel field-effect transistor (InP/AlGaAs VTFET) featuring TaN as the metal gate. The device comprises a nanocavity beneath the gate metal adjacent to the tunnelling junction, where biomolecules engage with the dielectric material, resulting in fluctuations in the drain current. A twin metal gate architecture with laterally split dielectrics is employed to eliminate short-channel effects. The biosensor has exceptional sensitivity, attaining a peak drain current sensitivity of $2.5 \times 10$ cm2 for biomolecules such as albumin (k = 7). The gadget proficiently identifies biomolecules with varying dielectric constants and charge distributions, enabling adaptable label-free detection of diverse targets. The study examines the influence of dielectric constant on critical metrics such as Energy Band Diagrams, Drain Current, Drain Sensitivity, and subthreshold swing (SS). The overlap between the source and pocket regions, along with the introduction of an auxiliary gate, optimizes the electrical characteristics. Simulation results show that the proposed InP/AlGaAs VTFET achieves a maximum sensitivity of $3.5 \times 10 ^{3}$ , outperforming configurations without overlap ( $2 \times 10 ^{3}$ ), highlights the potential of proposed InP/AlGaAs VTFET for scalable, high-sensitivity, label-free biomolecule detection.
