AI-powered dining: text information extraction and machine learning for personalized menu recommendations and food allergy management

Individuals with food allergies face limitations in social events and restaurant dining. Artificial intelligence solutions should be offered to this category. In this paper, a recommender system is proposed for the benefit of people with food allergies. The system aims to identify convenient options for the user in a restaurant/hotel menu. The system collects user’s allergy information and the restaurant menu, it extracts dishes names using a machine learning model. Then it conducts search about the recipes of these dishes and identify allergen-free ones. The system has been implemented as a mobile application involving a Naïve Bayes classification model and a web search API. The performance of the classifier was significant (accuracy 87%). Yet, an enhancement approach was introduced to increase the accuracy to 90%. In addition, an expert-driven test has been conducted and 98.5% of the system allergen identification was accurate in comparison with the original recipes used by restaurants’ chefs. © Bharati Vidyapeeth's Institute of computer Applications and Management 2024.

Fog computing is a key enabling technology of 6G systems as it provides quick and reliable computing,and data storage services which are required for several 6G *** Intelligence(AI)algorithms will be an integral part of 6G systems and efficient task offloading techniques using fog computing will improve their performance and *** this paper,the focus is on the scenario of Partial Offloading of a Task to Multiple Helpers(POMH)in which larger tasks are divided into smaller subtasks and processed in parallel,hence expediting task ***,using POMH presents challenges such as breaking tasks into subtasks and scaling these subtasks based on many interdependent factors to ensure that all subtasks of a task finish simultaneously,preventing resource ***,applying matching theory to POMH scenarios results in dynamic preference profiles of helping devices due to changing subtask sizes,resulting in a difficult-to-solve,externalities *** paper introduces a novel many-to-one matching-based algorithm,designed to address the externalities problem and optimize resource allocation within POMH ***,we propose a new time-efficient preference profiling technique that further enhances time optimization in POMH *** performance of the proposed technique is thoroughly evaluated in comparison to alternate baseline schemes,revealing many advantages of the proposed *** simulation findings indisputably show that the proposed matching-based offloading technique outperforms existing methodologies in the literature,yielding a remarkable 52 reduction in task latency,particularly under high workloads.

Researchers have recently created several deep learning strategies for various tasks, and facial recognition has made remarkable progress in employing these techniques. Face recognition is a noncontact, nonobligatory, acceptable, and harmonious biometric recognition method with a promising national and social security future. The purpose of this paper is to improve the existing face recognition algorithm, investigate extensive data-driven face recognition methods, and propose a unique automated face recognition methodology based on generative adversarial networks (GANs) and the center symmetric multivariable local binary pattern (CS-MLBP). To begin, this paper employs the center symmetric multivariant local binary pattern (CS-MLBP) algorithm to extract the texture features of the face, addressing the issue that C2DPCA (column-based two-dimensional principle component analysis) does an excellent job of removing the global characteristics of the face but struggles to process the local features of the face under large samples. The extracted texture features are combined with the international features retrieved using C2DPCA to generate a multifeatured face. The proposed method, GAN-CS-MLBP, syndicates the power of GAN with the robustness of CS-MLBP, resulting in an accurate and efficient face recognition system. Deep learning algorithms, mainly neural networks, automatically extract discriminative properties from facial images. The learned features capture low-level information and high-level meanings, permitting the model to distinguish among dissimilar persons more successfully. To assess the proposed technique’s GAN-CS-MLBP performance, extensive experiments are performed on benchmark face recognition datasets such as LFW, YTF, and CASIA-WebFace. Giving to the findings, our method exceeds state-of-the-art facial recognition systems in terms of recognition accuracy and resilience. The most innovative Service-Optimized Logging for Resource Allocation (SOL-RA) is in situations that support 6G connection. The CyberTwin architecture optimizes the quality of service provided to end users in 6G communications by using the dependability of terahertz connections and interactions of a machine-type nature. Elastically sharing elastic resources among users is made possible by the proposed resource allocation strategy, which makes use of proprietary logger functions. This ensures that efficient allocation is achieved without overlapping or lengthy wait periods. Within the framework of SOL-RA, a categorization mechanism is implemented for dense requests, which differentiates them as either stationary or priority services. Resource allocations are dynamically done based on this categorization, which enhances the organization's responsiveness to different needs. Through a tree classifier learning mechanism, CyberTwin logs play an essential part in the processing of requests and the preparation of resources. This helps to ensure that resources are distributed without inefficiency. Requests that are generating a backlog are identified and processed in parallel by the system, which significantly reduces the amount of time that is wasted waiting. In order to guarantee a specialized distribution for the categorized outputs, resource allocations are directed by CyberTwin data logs. An examination of the performance of the SOL-RA scheme takes into account important metrics such service latency, service backlog, resource usage, and request-to-response ratio. This research offers insights into the efficacy of the scheme in maximizing service quality and resource consumption in 6G settings. © The Author(s) 2025.

Enhancing Skin Disease Diagnosis: Light GBM-DMS Algorithm for Accurate Image Classification

Globally, skin diseases are emerging as the most common health problem. It initiates depressive disorder, and it also causes physical health distress. It rarely led to skin cancer in extreme cases. Diagnosing skin disease is subjective and time-consuming when it is performed by health experts manually. Hence, automatic skin disease prediction is required by both dermatologists and patients to enhance and accelerate treatment plans. Even though many machine-learning techniques are available to detect skin diseases, the timely prediction and accurate classification of skin lesions are still in demand. Hence, the Discrete Mycorrhizal Search Algorithm is used to optimize the novel LightGBM to meet this objective. Firstly, intrusions like noise elimination and hair removal are performed and then the image resizing takes place by utilizing the preprocessing pipelines. Subsequent to data pre-processing, the prime features are extracted using the convolutional self-attention based L2 regularization, thus minimizing the data complexity. At last, the extracted features are shifted to the final categorization phase which is done by the novel approach for effective classification of skin diseases. Two skin disease classification images, including datasets, the Skin Lesions Dermatoscopic Image dataset and Skin Cancer MNIST HAM10000, are selected to validate the classification performance. Comprehensive analyses are performed with significant measures that showed the proposed model attained better performances of 98.6%, 0.95, and 10.43 s from accuracy, intersection of union, and execution time, respectively. The stability and robustness under different environmental conditions for clinical applications in skin disease detection and classification tasks are analyzed for making decisions in real-time scenarios. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2025.

Urbanization has led to increased traffic congestion and air pollution, primarily from vehicle emissions, posing risks to public health and the environment. Existing traffic management systems are inefficient in integrating real-time pollution data, leading to reactive control measures. This project proposes an IoT-based smart traffic management system that integrates real-time air quality monitoring with dynamic traffic control. IoT sensors collect pollution and vehicle data, which is processed using cloud computing and machine learning to optimize traffic flow and reduce emissions. AI techniques provide transparency, helping city authorities understand and trust the system's decisions. The system also offers predictive analytics for proactive pollution management and a user-friendly dashboard for real-time visualization. The solution aims to reduce urban emissions, and enhance traffic efficiency, offering a sustainable approach for modern cities. © 2025 IEEE.

Data-driven output regulation control for constrained linear systems

This study introduces a data-driven approach for state and output feedback control addressing the constrained output regulation problem in unknown linear discrete-time systems. Our method ensures effective tracking performance while satisfying the state and input constraints, even when system matrices are not available. We first establish a sufficient condition necessary for the existence of a solution pair to the regulator equation and propose a data-based approach to obtain the feedforward and feedback control gains for state feedback control using linear programming. Furthermore, we design a refined Luenberger observer to accurately estimate the system state, while keeping the estimation error within a predefined set. By combining output regulation theory, we develop an output feedback control strategy. The stability of the closed-loop system is rigorously proved to be asymptotically stable by further leveraging the concept of λ-contractive sets.

A safe and adequate blood supply is essential for healthcare systems to function effectively. Accurately forecasting blood demand plays a key role in efficient inventory management and resource allocation. Traditional forecasting methods, like moving averages and ARIMA models, often fall short due to the complexity of factors influencing blood demand. This study introduces an innovative hybrid ensemble model that combines Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) networks with XGBoost, harnessing their combined strengths to enhance forecasting accuracy. By analyzing blood donation data from the Zakho Blood Bank (January 1, 2015—July 22, 2022), the model outperforms individual LSTM and XGBoost models, excelling in metrics such as Mean Square Error (MSE) and Mean Absolute Error (MAE). These findings underscore the potential of advanced machine learning techniques to improve healthcare supply chain management and ensure the timely availability of critical blood supplies. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2025.

The risk of gas leaks has grown significantly as a life threatening issue in industrial activities, cooking, and heating. This system integrates automatic reaction mechanisms, real-time monitoring capabilities, and advanced detection technologies in a multifaceted manner to address various dangers. The comprehensive gas leak detection and automatic cut off system is intended to improve safety in a variety of situations, including industrial and residential ones. To precisely identify the existence of dangerous gases like methane and propane, the proposed system combines infrared, electrochemical, and semiconductor types of gas sensors integrated with a mobile application, users may remotely administer and monitor the system in real-time. The system initiates a multi-tiered response upon detecting a gas leak;it sounds an alarm, notifies user-specified The mobile devices about the leak, and turns on an exhaust fan to release concentrated gas. A solenoid valve is used by the system to quickly shut off the gas supply and electricity from any location. The need of user-friendly controls and prompt notifications in emergency situations is highlighted in this paper's discussion of software architecture, sensor integration, and user interface design. Experimental results show that the system is reliable and capable of responding quickly under different circumstances. In future the application of machine learning algorithms for predictive maintenance and the possibility of integrating IoT to further strengthen security protocols. The results emphasize importance to deploy these kinds of extensive safety systems widely in order to reduce the risks associated with gas exposure. © 2025 IEEE.

Structure learning of Bayesian networks using sparrow optimization algorithm

Bayesian networks are powerful analytical models in machine learning, used to represent probabilistic relationships among variables and create learning structures. These networks are made up of parameters that show conditional probabilities and a structure that shows how random variables interact with each other. The structure is shown by a directed acyclic graph. Despite the NP-hard nature of learning Bayesian network structures, there has been significant progress in improving the accuracy of approximation solutions. The main focus is on score-based search strategies, which make use of functions to evaluate network models and identify structures with high scores. This study is significantly focused on structure learning Bayesian networks using the Bayesian Dirichlet equivalent uniform scoring function and metaheuristic search strategies. To this end, this paper presents the sparrow optimization algorithm (SOA), a new metaheuristic algorithm derived from the foraging behavior of sparrows. SOA performs a concurrent optimization in the solution space by simultaneously performing a local and global search that leads to the discovery of near-optimal structures. The results from our experiments on several benchmark datasets show that SOA yields overall better performance than SA and greedy search algorithms. In particular, it is claimed that by applying the proposed approach of SOA, the convergence speed is significantly higher compared with the existing ones;F1 score is 0.35 and 0.05 for the Hamming distance with better results. Given these results, signed operators prove to be very efficient in SOA’s Bayesian network structure learning as a concept, especially for real-world use. © (2024), (Society of Sytematic Innovation).
