Bridging research gaps in breast cancer detection: An ensemble approach informed by bibliometric analysis

One of the leading causes of cancer-related death for women is still breast cancer, which highlights the importance of early and precise diagnosis techniques. Despite medical imaging and deep learning advances, current models fail to combine innovative object identification and classification methods, limiting their diagnostic performance. A bibliometric study of 1145 research articles identified key gaps, including the lack of integration between advanced object detection models like YOLOv9 and YOLOv10 with high-performance classification architectures such as EfficientNet B7, as well as the limited utilization of diverse imaging modalities. This study proposes a novel ensemble model for Breast Cancer Classification and Detection by combining YOLOv9, YOLOv10, and EfficientNet B7 (BC²D-Y/EN) to address these gaps. The proposed model combines the advanced object detection capabilities of YOLOv9 and YOLOv10 with the high-performance classification power of EfficientNet B7. This method aims to improve detection accuracy and computational efficiency in breast cancer identification. The proposed approach is validated using four publicly available datasets: CBIS-DDSM, CBIS-DDSM RGB breast cancer dataset, The Breast1 MRI dataset, and the Breast Ultrasound Tumor Object Detection dataset, all containing expert-annotated cases of benign and malignant tumors. The experimental findings indicate that the suggested model surpasses other models, achieving precision rates of 98.56% with EfficientNet B7, 98.3% with YOLOv9, and 100% with YOLOv9. These findings highlight the advantages of advanced models and diverse imaging methodologies to enhance diagnostic accuracy and effectiveness in breast cancer detection. © 2025 Elsevier Ltd

This paper examines finite-time (F-T) observer-based control of fractional-order nonlinear systems with time delay, employing the Takagi–Sugeno fuzzy (T-SF) approach. This study utilizes the conformable fractional derivative (CFD) as its foundational framework. Sufficient conditions are formulated to guarantee that the augmented vector, consisting of the state estimates and the state estimation errors, stays within a ball centered at the origin. This applies not only to specified initial conditions but also to predefined disturbances. These conditions are then reformulated as linear matrix inequalities (LMIs) conditions, which can be efficiently solved using the LMI toolbox. Multi-Keypoint Affordance Representation for Functional Dexterous Grasping

Functional dexterous grasping requires precise hand-object interaction, going beyond simple gripping. Existing affordance-based methods primarily predict coarse interaction regions and cannot directly constrain the grasping posture, leading to a disconnection between visual perception and manipulation. To address this issue, we propose a multi-keypoint affordance representation for functional dexterous grasping, which directly encodes task-driven grasp configurations by localizing functional contact points. Our method introduces Contact-guided Multi-Keypoint Affordance (CMKA), leveraging human grasping experience images for weak supervision combined with Large Vision Models for fine affordance feature extraction, achieving generalization while avoiding manual keypoint annotations. Additionally, we present a Keypoint-based Grasp matrix Transformation (KGT) method, ensuring spatial consistency between hand keypoints and object contact points, thus providing a direct link between visual perception and dexterous grasping actions. Experiments on public real-world FAH datasets, IsaacGym simulation, and challenging robotic tasks demonstrate that our method significantly improves affordance localization accuracy, grasp consistency, and generalization to unseen tools and tasks, bridging the gap between visual affordance learning and dexterous robotic manipulation. 3D object detection play a pivotal role in various applications, such as autonomous driving and environmental perception. However, the challenging task of detecting targets (e.g., vehicles and pedestrians) in 3D point clouds obtained from LiDAR sensors is hindered by two primary factors. Firstly, point clouds are non-Euclidean data and lack rigid data properties. Secondly, these point clouds are sparse and deficient in semantic information. In this paper, we propose a novel deep learning framework for 3D object detection. The proposed approach involves two stages. Specifically, we first present an innovative fusion technique that combines images and point clouds using transformers. This technique enhances the integration of semantic and geometric features while accurately mapping points to pixels without relying on camera extrinsic parameters. Additionally, a multi-level graph convolutional network (GCN) architecture is further introduced for object detection. This architecture effectively handles the non-Euclidean characteristics of point clouds while achieving precise object identification within them. A comprehensive series of experiments on the KITTl and nuScenes datasets validate the effectiveness of the proposed framework. © 1967-2012 IEEE.

One of the main challenges facing hyperspectral image super-resolution is the complex high-dimensional data processing. Mamba leverages its ability to model long-range dependencies of linear complexity to capture the global spatial and spectral information of high-dimensional data while maintaining linear complexity. However, its visual state space equation mainly focuses on the band dimension mapping of the image, while ignoring the modeling of the spatial dimension. To overcome this limitation, we develop a Mamba hyperspectral image super-resolution framework, which comprises three essential components. The first component, i.e., the spatial Mamba subnetwork, models the spatial dimensions of hyperspectral data. It captures long-range dependencies in the pixel space, thereby integrating global spatial information into the framework. The second component, i.e., the spectral Mamba subnetwork, serves to capture long-range spectral dependencies. The third component, i.e., reconstruction, generates hyperspectral images with rich spatial and spectral details through pixel interpolation. Our Mamba framework fully develops the potential of the Mamba model in hyperspectral image super-resolution, significantly enhancing the restoration quality and accuracy of hyperspectral images. Extensive experiments on the Houston and QUST-1 datasets show that our framework outperforms state-of-the-art methods in both quantitative metrics and visual quality across diverse scenarios. © 1980-2012 IEEE.

Generalized zero-shot learning (GZSL) is focused on recognizing classes, both seen and unseen, without the need for labeled data specifically for the unseen classes. GZSL has attracted much attention by transforming the traditional GZSL into a fully supervised learning task. Most GZSL methods use a single semantic attribute (each category can only correspond to a specific semantic attribute) plus Gaussian noise to generate visual features, assuming a one-to-one correspondence between these visual features and single semantic attributes. However, in practice, there may be cases of attribute missingness in images, leading to visual features that lack certain attributes, thus failing to achieve a good mapping between semantic attributes and visual features. Therefore, visual features of the same class should have diverse semantic attributes. To address this issue, we propose a new method for enhancing semantic attributes called "Interpolated Semantic Attribute Enhancement for Generalized Zero-Shot Learning (ISAE-GZSL)." This method uses interpolation to deal with the problem of semantic attribute missingness in real-world situations, thereby enhancing semantic diversity and generating more realistic and diverse visual features. We assess the performance of the proposed model across four benchmark datasets, and the findings demonstrate substantial enhancements over current state-of-the-art methods, especially in handling categories with severe attribute missingness in the datasets. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

Human Activity Recognition (HAR) has applications in diverse fields, including sports management and behavior classification. Existing HAR methods can be categorized into three main approaches: camera-based, wearable sensor-based, and Wi-Fi sensing-based. Camera-based methods suffer from privacy concerns, while wearable sensor-based methods face limitations in battery longevity and continuous monitoring. Wi-Fi sensing methods mitigate privacy and battery issues but rely on costly Intel 5300 network cards or software-defined radio (SDR) platforms, limiting scalability. This paper presents a cost-effective IoT-based human activity recognition system using ESP32, leveraging its Wi-Fi sensing capabilities. The proposed system follows a structured workflow: (i) channel state information (CSI) is extracted from ESP32 modules, (ii) data preprocessing is performed using Hampel and Gaussian filters for noise and outlier removal, (iii) dimensionality reduction is achieved through Principal Component Analysis (PCA) and Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT), and (iv) activity classification is conducted using Dynamic Time Warping (DTW) and the K-Nearest Neighbors (KNN) algorithm. Experimental evaluations demonstrate that the proposed system achieves an average recognition accuracy of 98.6 % across six human activities, comparable to high-end Intel 5300-based HAR systems, while significantly reducing hardware costs and improving ease of deployment. © 2025

To achieve low joint-angle drift and avoid mutual collision between dual redundant manipulators (DRMs) when they are doing collaboration works, a recurrent neural network based bicriteria repetitive motion collision avoidance (BRMCA) scheme is proposed for motion planning of DRMs. By designing a combined optimization objective encompassing both repetitive motion criterion and collision avoidance criterion, the BRMCA scheme has larger feasible region and less constraint contradiction issues compared with traditional inequality constraints based method. Furthermore, by incorporating velocity-level kinematic model and physical limits of DRMs into the scheme, a time varying quadratic programming (TVQP) problem is formulated. The linear variational inequality-based primal–dual neural network (LVI-PDNN) is used to solve the proposed scheme due to the high accuracy and low computation complexity. Finally, through comparison simulations of tracking Circle-shape and C-shape trajectories between BRMCA scheme and minimum velocity norm (MVN) scheme, it exhibits that the proposed BRMCA scheme can achieve low joint-angle drift, collision avoidance and high tracking accuracy when DRMs are doing cooperative tasks. © 2025 IEEE.

Data security and access control method of blockchain with revocable attribute encryption in steel supply chain

With the rapid development of the steel supply chain, the volume of data generated has increased dramatically, revealing potential risks associated with traditional coarse-grained data access control mechanisms and centralized architectures. To address these challenges, a blockchain-based data access control method utilizing attribute revocation ciphertext policies is proposed. This method enhances existing schemes by introducing a pre-decryption process and integrating an attribute revocation list, thereby enabling real-time attribute revocation. In terms of security, this approach is validated based on the Decisional Bilinear Diffie-Hellman (DBDH) hypothesis, which is a difficult problem under asymmetric groups, ensuring data security. By leveraging the decentralized nature of blockchain technology, this method mitigates the risks associated with single points of failure in central certification institutions. The token request mechanism introduced enables users to request multiple resources simultaneously, thereby reducing the frequency of operations. Compliant requests are authenticated, granted permissions, and subsequently returned to the user via a token. Additionally, this method integrates the Interplanetary File System (IPFS) and employs both chain-up and chain-down storage modes, effectively addressing issues related to insufficient blockchain capacity and system efficiency. The research validates the efficacy of this approach in enhancing efficiency and resolving challenges within the steel supply chain, providing substantial support for the industry’s digital transformation. Experimental results indicate that when handling large-scale attribute sets, both pre-decryption and decryption times remain stable at approximately 100 milliseconds, thereby achieving efficient and fine-grained access control to blockchain data. Architectural Distortion (AD) is a common abnormality in digital mammograms, alongside masses and microcalcifications. Detecting AD in dense breast tissue is particularly challenging due to its heterogeneous asymmetries and subtle presentation. Factors such as location, size, shape, texture, and variability in patterns contribute to reduced sensitivity. To address these challenges, we propose a novel feature fusion-based Vision Transformer (ViT) attention network, combined with VGG-16, to improve accuracy and efficiency in AD detection. Our approach mitigates issues related to texture fixation, background boundaries, and deep neural network limitations, enhancing the robustness of AD classification in mammograms. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed model achieves state-of-the-art performance, outperforming eight existing deep learning models. On the PINUM dataset, it attains 0.97 sensitivity, 0.92 F1-score, 0.93 precision, 0.94 specificity, and 0.96 accuracy. On the DDSM dataset, it records 0.93 sensitivity, 0.91 F1-score, 0.94 precision, 0.92 specificity, and 0.95 accuracy. These results highlight the potential of our method for computer-aided breast cancer diagnosis, particularly in low-resource settings where access to high-end imaging technology is limited. By enabling more accurate and timely AD detection, our approach could significantly improve breast cancer screening and early intervention worldwide. © 2013 IEEE.
