Recently, the association prediction between viruses and drugs has drawn more and more attention. A growing number of studies have shown that the problem of antiviral drug resistance is increasing and has become a major problem plaguing the medical community. Moreover, the development cycle of new drugs is long and requires a lot of funds. If new viruses emerge, effective antiviral drugs are urgently needed. Therefore, effective calculation methods are required to predict potential antiviral drugs. In this paper, we developed a computational model of Matrix Decomposition and Heterogeneous Graph based Inference for Drug-Virus Association (MDHGIVDA) to predict potential drug-virus associations. MDHGIVDA integrated virus sequence similarity, drug chemical structure similarity, drug side effect similarity, Gaussian interaction profile kernel similarity for drugs and viruses, new drug-virus associations matrix obtained by matrix decomposition to discover new drug-virus associations. Due to the use of matrix factorization and heterogeneous graphs, our model has a high prediction accuracy compared with the previous four models. In the global and local leave-one-out cross validation (LOOCV), MDHGIVDA obtained area under the receiver operating characteristics curve (AUC) of 0.8528 and AUC of 0.8532, respectively. In addition, in the five-fold cross validation, the AUC and the standard deviation is 0.8299 0.0037, which shows that MDHGIVDA has stability and high prediction accuracy. In the case studies of three important viruses, 18, 14, and 16 out of the top 20 predicted drugs for Zika virus (ZIKV), Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-COV-2), Human Immunodeficiency Virus-1 (HIV-1) were verified respectively by searching the literature on PubMed. Actor-critic reinforcement learning for control with stability guarantee

Deep Reinforcement Learning (DRL) has achieved impressive performance in various robotic control tasks, ranging from motion planning and navigation to end-to-end visual manipulation. However, stability is not guaranteed in DRL. From a control-theoretic perspective, stability is the most impor-tant property for any control system, since it is closely related to safety, robustness, and reliability of robotic systems. In this paper, we propose a DRL framework with stability guarantee by exploiting the Lyapunov's method in control theory. A sampling-based stability theorem is proposed for stochastic nonlinear systems modeled by the Markov decision process. Then we show that the stability condition could be exploited as a critic in the actor-critic RL framework and propose an efficient DRL algorithm to learn a controller/policy with a stability guarantee. In the simulated experiments, our approach is evaluated on several well-known examples including the classic CartPole balancing, 3-dimensional robot control, and control of synthetic biology gene regulatory networks. As a qualitative evaluation of stability, we show that the learned policies can enable the systems to recover to the equilibrium or tracking target when interfered by uncertainties such as unseen disturbances and system parametric variations to a certain extent. Hard hat wearing detection based on head keypoint localization

In recent years, a lot of attention is paid to deep learning methods in the context of vision-based construction site safety systems. However, still there is no reliable way to establish the relationship between supervised construction workers and their basic personal protective equipment, like hard hats. To address this problem, a novel deep learning method combining object detection, keypoint localization, and simple rule-based reasoning is proposed in this article. In tests, this solution surpassed the previous methods based on the relative bounding box position of different instances, as well as direct detection of hard hat wearers and non-wearers. Achieving MS COCO style overall AP of 67.5% compared to 66.4% and 66.3% achieved by the above-mentioned approaches, with class specific AP for hard hat non-wearers of 64.1% compared to 63.0% and 60.3%. The results show that the conjunction of deep learning methods with humanly-interpretable rule-based algorithm is better suited for detection of hard hat non-wearers. Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM) is a mission or task that involves estimating a robot's location and reconstructing its surroundings based on sensor data. For autonomous mobile robots, the capacity to learn a regular model of its environment is a prerequisite. The fact that loops in the environment generate stimulating data association challenges is a particularly difficult problem in obtaining surroundings maps of closing loops. One of the most difficult aspects of SLAM research is loop closing. The increasing uncertainty in local mapping and the productivity of the local map representation contribute to a given environment's difficulties in loop closures. The most difficult aspect of SLAM is management uncertainty. False matches caused by a lack of clarity in the environment are one of the most significant obstacles to properly closing huge loops. When evaluating whether or not to accept a map-match, there are a variety of methodologies or similarity metrics to consider. In order to determine the least map-match error, this study examined different similarity metrics such as ((Jaccard, Euclidean, Cityblock, Chebyshev, Cosine, Spearman, Variable, Correlation). When comparing the various similarity metrics, the Cosine technique had the lowest inaccuracy of all the methods, while the Correlation method had the fastest execution time.

In the area of skeleton-based human action recognition, GCN has achieved good results in previous research due to its excellent modeling ability on graph data. Recently, transformers have achieved extraordinary results in many computer vision fields. Comparing transformer and GCN, from a certain point of view, we can regard transformer as a kind of dynamic GCN, and the weight of each node is dynamically determined by data. In this work, a three-dimensional position encoding was proposed by us to solve the representation of node spatial information, in order to apply the transformer to the graph data. In addition, similar to Spatial-Temporal Graph Convolutional Networks (ST-GCN), we proposed a Space-Time Transformer (ST-TR), which applies transformers in space and time to extract spatiotemporal feature of skeleton data to complete action recognition.

ABSTRACTSearch by image has taken the place of the prior wordy approach, considering spatial image comparison in the feature space. Several query image forms are available. Sketch-to-real image matching is very challenging problem, which is commonly based on edge feature detectors to extract features from sketches. However, they are inconvenient, and it is crucial to select different methods. Thus, methods assessment is conducted for similarity matching between sketched and real images for different drawing contents and clarity levels. The assessment approach includes comparing feature keypoints gathered using the Scale-Invariant Feature Transform (SIFT) and Oriented FAST and Rotated BRIEF (ORB) methods. In addition, the comparison includes matching of objects inside High-Deﬁnition (HD) images and 3D images based on their generated features. The textual-Hcontent image search is another search type that is frequently used in brand logo cases. Hence, it is presented for text-logo image search based on visual features. Besides, the motives and downsides of the considered methods are declared, including the space and time complexities within test cases.

Fingertip interactive tracking registration method for AR assembly system

Aiming at the problems of single input mode and lack of naturalness in the assembly process of existing AR systems, a tracking registration method of mobile AR assembly system is proposed based on multi-quantity and multi-degree of freedom natural fingertip interaction. Firstly, the real-time and stable tracking of hand area in complex environment is realized based on the hand region tracking; secondly, the fingertip detection and recognition based on K-COS and parallel vector is used to improve the precision and stability of fingertip recognition; thirdly, the special movement track of fingertip is recognized based on improved DTW algorithm, which has strong compatibility and feature gradient transformation for complex fingertip trajectory recognition; finally, through the real-time transformation of projection relationship between fingertip and virtual object, the interaction between fingertip and virtual object is made more natural and realistic. The experimental results show that in the complex environment of background, illumination, scale and rotation, the precision of fingertip detection and recognition is about 93%, and the precision of fingertip motion template matching is about 91%. The translation error of the registration method based on visual feature recognition is reduced by about 100pix compared with fingertip tracking registration method, and the efficiency of mobile AR-guided assembly method is improved by about 24.77% compared with the traditional manual assisted assembly method. These data verifies the strong interaction and practicability of the fingertips based on the user's multi-quantity and multi-degree of freedom features in the process of mobile AR guided assembly.

Multiview Integration Network for Multitask Robotic Surgical Scene Analysis

Surgical scene analysis holds a pivotal role in robot-assisted surgery. However, existing methods often suffer from single or little views, leading to erroneous scene analysis conclusions. To address these issues, a novel Multiview Integration Network (MVINet) is proposed, which comprehensively analyzes the surgical scene by integrating effective information from multiple views, including global, local, dynamic, and static views. As a multitask scene analysis network, MVINet could simultaneously perform semantic segmentation of surgical instruments and detection of instrument-tissue interaction. By designing a unique Global-Local Spatial Feature Memory module (G-LSFM), the joint information from globally and locally analyzed views following graph analysis simultaneously enhances the accuracy of multitask scene analysis. The Dynamic-Static Visual Feature Memory module (D-SVFM) introduces an innovative approach by simultaneously incorporating temporal feature from consecutive frames and static feature from single frame into the node features of the interaction reasoning network. The multiscale perspective of both features further enhances the ability of the module to analyze the complex scenes. Experimental results on a public and a private dataset demonstrate that our method achieves superior performance compared to other state-of-the-art methods for two crucial tasks in surgical scene analysis. In the instrument segmentation task, MVINet outperforms the second-best method by 1.73% and 0.55% in terms of mIoU scores. For the interaction detection task, MVINet surpasses the second-best method by 10.14% and 5.47% in mAP scores. © 1963-2012 IEEE.

Feature selection plays a critical role in the application of Brain computer Interface (BCI) systems. Many methods have been used to solve the feature selection problem, but they model it as a single-objective problem, considering only classification accuracy or number of features. To close this critical gap, we improve the squirrel search algorithm by combining it with the grid method, and propose a Multi-Objective Squirrel Search Algorithm (MOSSA) to solve the feature selection problem in BCI. We conduct experiments on three publicly available motion imagery datasets, and the experimental results reveal the best classification results of the method on dataset 1. The average classification accuracy of dataset 2 is 96.71%, with the number of selected features reduced to 18 on average. The highest classification accuracy of dataset 3 is 83.57% on the training set and 82.86% on the test set. In addition, we compare MOSSA with other algorithms and the results show the superiority of our proposed method in solving the feature selection problem. Finally, we combine MOSSA with an online application of BCI, where subjects visualise controlling the robot to perform the corresponding actions by the left and right hand movements. The average recognition rate of the three subjects is approximately 70%. A global to local double embedding method for multi-person pose estimation

Multi-person pose estimation is a fundamental and challenging problem to many computer vision tasks. Most existing methods can be broadly categorized into two classes: top-down and bottom-up methods. Both of the two types of methods involve two stages, namely, person detection and joints detection. Conventionally, the two stages are implemented separately without considering their interactions between them, and this may inevitably cause some issue intrinsically. In this paper, we present a novel method to simplify the pipeline by implementing person detection and joints detection simultaneously. We propose a Double Embedding (DE) method to complete the multi-person pose estimation task in a global-to-local way. DE consists of Global Embedding (GE) and Local Embedding (LE). GE encodes different person instances and processes information covering the whole image and LE encodes the local limbs information. GE functions for the person detection in top-down strategy while LE connects the rest joints sequentially which functions for joint grouping and information processing in A bottom-up strategy. Based on LE, we design the Mutual Refine Machine (MRM) to reduce the prediction difficulty in complex scenarios. MRM can effectively realize the information communicating between keypoints and further improve the accuracy. We achieve the competitive results on benchmarks MSCOCO, MPII and CrowdPose, demonstrating the effectiveness and generalization ability of our method. Copyright © 2021, The Authors.
