Log-driven predictive analysis of remaining time for emergency response processes

The cross-organizational, messaging and resource attributes of emergency response processes effectively improve the accuracy of remaining time prediction. For this purpose, a log-driven analysis method for remaining time prediction of emergency response processes is proposed. Firstly, the attributes such as cross-organization, messaging and resources of the emergency response process are encoded, and then the vector representation of the emergency response process is obtained. Secondly, the vector representations of the emergency response processes are fed into a deep neural network prediction model for learning. Finally, we experimented with an emergency response process log to demonstrate the proposed method. © 2025 Elsevier Ltd

In the era of artificial intelligence generated content (AIGC), conditional multimodal synthesis technologies (e.g., text-to-image) are dynamically reshaping the natural content. Brain signals, serving as potential reflections of how the brain interprets external information, exhibit a distinctive one-to-many correspondence with various external modalities. This correspondence makes brain signals emerge as a promising guiding condition for multimodal synthesis (e.g., image, text, and audio), which is crucial for developing practical brain–computer interface systems and unraveling complex mechanisms underlying human perception. This survey comprehensively examines the emerging field of brain-conditional multimodal synthesis, termed AIGC-brain, to delineate the current landscape and future directions. To begin, related neuroimaging datasets and generative models are introduced as the foundation of AIGC-brain decoding and analysis. Next, we present a comprehensive taxonomy according to AIGC-brain methodologies, followed by task-specific representative work and implementation details to facilitate in-depth comparison and analysis. Quality assessments are then introduced for both qualitative and quantitative evaluation. Finally, this survey explores insights gained, outlining current challenges and prospects of AIGC-brain. As a pioneering survey, this article paves the way for future advances in AIGC-brain research. © 2020 IEEE.

RGB-Based Category-Level Object Pose Estimation via Depth Recovery and Adaptive Refinement

Category-level pose estimation methods have received widespread attention as they can be generalized to intra-class unseen objects. Although RGB-D-based category-level methods have made significant progress, reliance on depth image limits practical application. RGB-based methods offer a more practical and cost-effective solution. However, current RGB-based methods struggle with object geometry perception, leading to inaccurate pose estimation. We propose depth recovery and adaptive refinement for category-level object pose estimation from a single RGB image. We leverage DINOv2 to reconstruct the coarse scene-level depth from the input RGB image and propose an adaptive refinement network based on an encoder-decoder architecture to dynamically improve the predicted coarse depth and reduce its gap from the ground truth. We introduce a 2D–3D consistency loss to ensure correspondence between the point cloud obtained from depth projection and the objects in the 2D image. This consistency supervision enables the model to maintain alignment between the depth image and the point cloud. Finally, we extract features from the refined point cloud and feed them into two confidence-aware rotation regression branches and a translation and size prediction residual branch for end-to-end training. Decoupling the rotation matrix provides a more direct representation, which facilitates parameter optimization and gradient propagation. Extensive experiments on the REAL275 and CAMERA25 datasets demonstrate the superior performance of our method. Real-world estimation and robotic grasping experiments demonstrate our model robustness to occlusion, clutter environments, and low-textured objects. Image segmentation plays a critical role in computer-aided diagnosis and treatment planning for cervical cancer. Obtaining a large number of labeled images for supervised cervical segmentation is often labor-intensive and time-consuming. In this paper, we propose a multi-stage semi-supervised learning framework (Semi-CervixSeg) to address the cervical seg-mentation task in ultrasound images for Fetal Ultrasound Grand Challenge: Semi-Supervised Cervical Segmentation in ISBI 2025. Specifically, in the initial stage, we utilize unlabeled data through a multi-view random augmentation strategy, using consistency constraints and a contrastive learning method. Subsequently, a progressive multi-stage training strategy is adopted to generate and optimize pseudo-labels, further improving segmentation results. Experimental re-sults demonstrate that the proposed method significantly im-proves segmentation performance compared with supervised methods. As a technical report for the challenge, this paper elaborates on our methodology and experimental findings in detail. Anomaly detection from medical images is badly needed for automated diagnosis. For example, medical images obtained with several modalities, such as magnetic resonance (MR) and confocal microscopy, need to be classified for anomaly detection. The MR images may contain tumors that need to be detected with anomaly detection techniques. In MR imaging, brain tumors are represented as areas composed of abnormal cells that need to be detected. On the other hand, confocal microscopy can be used for retinal imaging. Hence, there is a need to apply classification techniques for diagnosing diseases of the eye, such as Diabetic Retinopathy (DR), which leads to exudates in different regions of the retina. The detection of exudates is necessary for the diagnosis of DR. In this paper, two models are presented for the classification of MR and retinal images. Much research has been done in this area, but it did not achieve high accuracy of classification in an acceptable time. In addition, the previous models did not consider both types of image modalities considered in this paper. The suggested models are Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) and Convolutional Long Short-Term Memory (Conv-LSTM). They are used to classify normal and abnormal cases of both brain tumor and DR diseases. The CNN model is composed of six convolutional layers and six max-pooling layers. A soft-max activation function takes the classification decision. The proposed Conv-LSTM model is composed of three stages: pre-processing, feature extraction, and classification. The deep learning model performance is better than those of traditional networks. The CNN gives an accuracy of 94.26% for DR classification and 95.8% for brain tumor classification, while the Conv-LSTM gives the maximum accuracy of 96.41% for DR classification and 97.4% for brain tumor classification. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2025.

Stereo image sand removal is crucial to improve the perceptual quality for autonomous driving perception. Existing methods often fall short in accurately estimating the uncertainty inherent in degraded images, leading to suboptimal outcomes. To address this, we introduce a novel framework named Decoupling While Coupling(DWC). DWC pioneers the integration of inter-view uncertainty estimation, cross-view uncertainty-aware interaction and block-wise uncertainty representation for superior stereo image sand removal. For cross-view information interaction, we propose an Uncertainty-aware Cross-view Attentive Interaction module(UCAI) to cope with the lack of uncertainty estimation ability in the existing cross-view information interaction mechanism. For the uncertainty perception and information interaction within the inter-view, we propose a Distribution Modeling Coupling Block(DMCB), which transmits the representation of uncertainty between each backbone module. For block-wise uncertainty estimation, we use our proposed Uncertainty-aware Distribution Feature Modulator(UDFM) as the backbone of DWC to modulate the uncertainty inside the neural network itself. Extensive experimental validations on our proposed stereo image sand removal dataset SandST confirm the efficacy of DWC. Our method not only achieves higher PSNR and SSIM, but also exhibits enhanced robustness against various sand degrees and patterns. © 2025 IEEE.

Oral cancer remains a critical global health challenge, characterized by high morbidity and mortality due to late-stage diagnosis. This paper addresses the need for improved diagnostic accuracy by introducing a novel hybrid-attention aided deep learning model for oral cancer classification. Our approach integrates the EfficientNetB0 model for feature extraction with a customized hybrid attention module, combining self, spatial, and soft attention mechanisms to emphasize crucial features. The model has been trained and evaluated on both microscopic and macroscopic oral cancer datasets, demonstrating its generalizability. Our proposed model achieves an accuracy of 96.97% on a macroscopic dataset and 92% on a microscopic dataset, with respective F1-scores of 0.97 and 0.89, outperforming baseline models. This hybrid attention-aided deep learning model shows significant potential in improving early detection and treatment planning of oral cancer. FusionGCNN: An IoT-Based Novel Spatiotemporal Graph Convolutional Network for ECG Arrhythmia Detection

Electrocardiogram (ECG) arrhythmia identification is critical for early cardiovascular disease diagnosis and monitoring in Internet of Things (IoT) industry. Still, it is difficult due to complicated waveforms, individual variability, and the requirement for real-time analysis on resource-limited equipment. Traditional approaches sometimes fail to detect complicated spatial-temporal correlations in ECG data, limiting their efficiency in identifying arrhythmias. Furthermore, deploying these models in tinyML contexts, such as edge and IoT devices limited by large computational and memory needs, emphasizes the importance of lightweight, accurate models for real-time applications. Our suggested solution consists of three main components: SigNet, DualGCNN, and FusionGCNN. SigNet uses Separable Convolution layers to effectively extract local spatial features, making it ideal for IoT-based healthcare deployment. DualGCNN combines dual Graph Convolutional layers with spatial attention, allowing the model to capture local and global dependencies for better classification of arrhythmia. FusionGCNN combines the capabilities of GCN and SigNet with an effective feature fusion technique to improve feature representation while remaining computationally economical. Ablation tests show that FusionGCNN improves performance considerably, with greater accuracy (0.9641), lower training error (0.0004), and a higher F1 Score (0.9645) across a variety of ECG patterns. FusionGCNN, with its low training error, high stability, and computational economy, is well-suited to tinyML requirements, allowing implementation on edge and IoT devices for scalable, real-time ECG monitoring in healthcare. © 2014 IEEE.

Sea ice poses a significant hazard to vessels navigating in high-latitude maritime regions. To effectively prevent the collision between ships and large sea ice (such as icebergs) and other similar accidents, it is crucial to identify sea ice and its types in a timely and accurate manner. However, traditional sea ice identification techniques, such as optical and radar remote sensing, are often limited by visibility conditions, suffering from poor accuracy, high measurement costs, and low identification efficiency. This paper proposes a sea ice identification method based on a vibration sensor network, combined with the PCA-BPMIV-GRU strategy, which achieves low cost, high efficiency, and high accuracy in sea ice type detection. Firstly, a cost-effective MEMS vibration sensor network is deployed to capture vibration information of sea ice. The data collected from six sensors at different locations at the same time are treated as independent samples to construct a dataset, which contains time-frequency domain characteristic data of three sea-ice types: broken ice, flat ice, and open water. Secondly, the dimension reduction and feature optimization of vibration data were carried out by combining Principal Component Analysis (PCA) and the improved Mean Influence Value Optimization algorithm (BPMIV). This integration of unsupervised and supervised algorithms effectively eliminated unnecessary feature information, significantly improving model identification efficiency. Finally, seven commonly used classification algorithms are compared for the identification of three types of sea ice, evaluating their identification accuracy and efficiency under different dimensionality reduction methods. The results confirm that the Gated Recurrent Unit (GRU) model achieves the best comprehensive performance. Experimental data shows that the proposed method reduces the number of features to 9, resulting in a 24.2 % decrease in parameters compared to the GRU model alone, while achieving
