The demand on healthcare is growing as a result of the expanding global population, rising demands for successful treatment, and an underlying improvement in life quality. Consequently, healthcare remains one of the most significant social and economic problems in the world, necessitating the development of new and more sophisticated scientific and technological treatments.E-health services are provided via personalised healthcare systems to meet the medical and support needs of the ageing population. An important development in the Big Data age is the Internet of Things, which facilitates several real-time engineering solutions through improved services. Healthcare systems are now using analytics over IoT data streams as a stream of user data to find new information, forecast rapid recognition, and make decisions on life-threatening situations. In this study, researchers have carried out a thorough review of the hottest recent revolutionary technologies in bespoke healthcare systems, with a focus on hypervisor, cloud infrastructure, big data analytic, the Web of Things, and smartphone apps. In order to make early disease detection and diagnosis possible, it is important to develop a better healthcare system. We have examined these problems and suggested potential solutions while offering secure e-health services. The purpose of this study is to design a smart and secure remote monitoring and warning system using the latest emerging technologies in 21 st century such as big data analytics and Internet of Things (IoT) ecosystems. In this study the researchers discussed a detailed research methodology to meet the outcomes of the reerach. All the relevant findings and analysis are explained in descriptive manner. Moreover, this study highlights the constantly expanding requirements for better medical systems in the present and offers potential directions for future research.

TcGAN: Semantic-Aware and Structure-Preserved GANs with Individual Vision Transformer for Fast Arbitrary One-Shot Image Generation

One-shot image generation (OSG) with generative adversarial networks that learn from the internal patches of a given image has attracted world wide attention. In recent studies, scholars have primarily focused on extracting features of images from probabilistically distributed inputs with pure convolutional neural networks (CNNs). However, it is quite difficult for CNNs with limited receptive domain to extract and maintain the global structural information. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a novel structure-preserved method TcGAN with individual vision transformer to overcome the shortcomings of the existing one-shot image generation methods. Specifically, TcGAN preserves global structure of an image during training to be compatible with local details while maintaining the integrity of semantic-aware information by exploiting the powerful long-range dependencies modeling capability of the transformer. We also propose a new scaling formula having scale-invariance during the calculation period, which effectively improves the generated image quality of the OSG model on image super-resolution tasks. We present the design of the TcGAN converter framework, comprehensive experimental as well as ablation studies demonstrating the ability of TcGAN to achieve arbitrary image generation with the fastest running time. Lastly, TcGAN achieves the most excellent performance in terms of applying it to other image processing tasks, e.g., super-resolution as well as image harmonization, the results further prove its superiority. This paper is concerned with model predictive control (MPC) of discrete-time linear systems subject to bounded additive disturbance and mixed constraints on the state and input, whereas the true disturbance set is unknown. Unlike most existing work on robust MPC, we propose an algorithm incorporating online learning that builds on prior knowledge of the disturbance, i.e., a known but conservative disturbance set. We approximate the true disturbance set at each time step with a parameterised set, which is referred to as a quantified disturbance set, using disturbance realisations. A key novelty is that the parameterisation of these quantified disturbance sets enjoys desirable properties such that the quantified disturbance set and its corresponding rigid tube bounding disturbance propagation can be efficiently updated online. We provide statistical gaps between the true and quantified disturbance sets, based on which, probabilistic recursive feasibility of MPC optimisation problems is discussed. Numerical simulations are provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of our proposed algorithm and compare with conventional robust MPC algorithms. © 2023, CC BY.

In this paper we deal with stochastic optimization problems where the data distributions change in response to the decision variables. Traditionally, the study of optimization problems with decision-dependent distributions has assumed either the absence of constraints or fixed constraints. This work considers a more general setting where the constraints can also dynamically adjust in response to changes in the decision variables. Specifically, we consider linear constraints and analyze the effect of decision-dependent distributions in both the objective function and constraints. Firstly, we establish a sufficient condition for the existence of a constrained equilibrium point, at which the distributions remain invariant under retraining. Moreover, we propose and analyze two algorithms: repeated constrained optimization and repeated dual ascent. For each algorithm, we provide sufficient conditions for convergence to the constrained equilibrium point. Furthermore, we explore the relationship between the equilibrium point and the optimal point for the constrained decision-dependent optimization problem. Notably, our results encompass previous findings as special cases when the constraints remain fixed. To show the effectiveness of our theoretical analysis, we provide numerical experiments on both a market problem and a dynamic pricing problem for parking based on real-world data. © 1963-2012 IEEE.

While the $$H_\infty $$ observer-based control has found widespread application in the literature for integer-order systems, researchers have shown less interest in addressing the same issue within the fractional-order framework. In this context, this study delves into the application of $$H_\infty $$ observer-based control for the Hadamard fractional-order system (HFOS) described by the Takagi–Sugeno fuzzy models (TSFM). Using Lyapunov approach and by employing a matrix decoupling technique, LMI based conditions ensuring the existence of an observer and controller, are proposed. To minimize the impact of disturbances on the controlled output, $$H_\infty $$ optimization technique is used. The validity of our approach is substantiated through an example, underscoring the robustness and reliability of our proposed findings.

The exploration of Bird’s-Eye View (BEV) mapping technology has driven significant innovation in visual perception technology for autonomous driving. BEV mapping models need to be applied to the unlabeled real world, making the study of unsupervised domain adaptation models an essential path. However, research on unsupervised domain adaptation for BEV mapping remains limited and cannot perfectly accommodate all BEV mapping tasks. To address this gap, this paper proposes HierDAMap, a universal and holistic BEV domain adaptation framework with hierarchical perspective priors. Unlike existing research that solely focuses on image-level learning using prior knowledge, this paper explores the guiding role of perspective prior knowledge across three distinct levels: global, sparse, and instance levels. With these priors, HierDA consists of three essential components, including Semantic-Guided Pseudo Supervision (SGPS), Dynamic-Aware Coherence Learning (DACL), and Cross-Domain Frustum Mixing (CDFM). SGPS constrains the cross-domain consistency of perspective feature distribution through pseudo labels generated by vision foundation models in 2D space. To mitigate feature distribution discrepancies caused by spatial variations, DACL employs uncertainty-aware predicted depth as an intermediary to derive dynamic BEV labels from perspective pseudo-labels, thereby constraining the coarse BEV features derived from corresponding perspective features. CDFM, on the other hand, leverages perspective masks of view frustum to mix multi-view perspective images from both domains, which guides cross-domain view transformation and encoding learning through mixed BEV labels. Furthermore, this paper introduces intra-domain feature exchange data augmentation to enhance the efficiency of domain adaptation learning. We address the problem of learning new classes for semantic segmentation models from few examples, which is challenging because of the following two reasons. Firstly, it is difficult to learn from limited novel data to capture the underlying class distribution. Secondly, it is challenging to retain knowledge for existing classes and to avoid catastrophic forgetting. For learning from limited data, we propose a pseudo-labeling strategy to augment the few-shot training annotations in order to learn novel classes more effectively. Given only one or a few images labeled with the novel classes and a much larger set of unlabeled images, we transfer the knowledge from labeled images to unlabeled images with a coarse-to-fine pseudo-labeling approach in two steps. Specifically, we first match each labeled image to its nearest neighbors in the unlabeled image set at the scene level, in order to obtain images with a similar scene layout. This is followed by obtaining pseudo-labels within this neighborhood by applying classifiers learned on the few-shot annotations. In addition, we use knowledge distillation on both labeled and unlabeled data to retain knowledge on existing classes. We integrate the above steps into a single convolutional neural network with a unified learning objective. Extensive experiments on the Cityscapes and KITTI datasets validate the efficacy of the proposed approach in the self-driving domain. Code is available from https://***/ChasonJiang/FSCILSS.

In this paper, we propose to use a nonlinear adaptive PID controller to regulate the joint variables of a mobile manipulator. The motion of the mobile base forces undue disturbances on the joint controllers of the manipulator. In designing a conventional PID controller, one should make a trade-off between the performance and agility of the closed-loop system and its stability margins. The proposed nonlinear adaptive PID controller provides a mechanism to relax the need for such a compromise by adapting the gains according to the magnitude of the error without expert tuning. Therefore, we can achieve agile performance for the system while seeing damped overshoot in the output and track the reference as close as possible, even in the presence of external disturbances and uncertainties in the modeling of the system. We have employed a Bayesian optimization approach to choose the parameters of a nonlinear adaptive PID controller to achieve the best performance in tracking the reference input and rejecting disturbances. The results demonstrate that a well-designed nonlinear adaptive PID controller can effectively regulate a mobile manipulator's joint variables while carrying an unspecified heavy load and an abrupt base movement occurs. © 2022, CC BY-NC-ND.

Currently, screen content video applications are widely used in our daily lives. As the latest Screen Content Coding (SCC) standard, Versatile Video Coding (VVC) SCC employs a quad-tree plus nested multi-type tree (QTMT) coding structure and various screen content coding modes (CMs). This design enhances the coding efficiency of VVC SCC but also results in a highly complex coding process, which significantly hinders the broader adoption of screen content video technology. Consequently, improving the coding speed of VVC SCC is highly desirable. In this paper, we propose a fast CM and transform decision algorithm for Intra prediction in VVC SCC. Specifically, we initially use Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) to predict content types for all Coding Units (CUs). Subsequently, we predict candidate CMs for CUs based on the CM distributions of different content types. We then select the Sum of Absolute Transformed Difference (SATD) as a feature and use a naive Bayes classifier to skip unlikely Intra mode early. Finally, we terminate Block-based Differential Pulse-Code Modulation (BDPCM) early and then select the best transform type in Intra mode prediction to improve coding speed. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm improves coding speed by an average of 39.28%, with the BDBR increasing by 0.80%.
