Vehicular Ad-hoc Networks (VANETs) serve as an integral component within Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), designed to augment traffic fluidity and ensure a secure, comfortable driving environment for both drivers and passengers. In this system, real-time data exchange between vehicles, Road Side Units (RSUs), and other infrastructure is essential. However, this process can potentially lead to serious data privacy issues due to the large-scale data exchange. This paper proposes an edge-assisted homomorphic privacy protection scheme in VANETs, based on BLS signatures for homomorphic authentication and group signatures to address the conflicting requirements of participant identity verification and anonymity. By utilizing the Chinese Remainder Theorem (CRT)-optimized Paillier encryption algorithm, it allows for homomorphic addition operations on encrypted data, aiming to support secure data aggregation in ciphertext states while ensuring data transmission and aggregation security. The incorporation of CRT decomposes the modulo operation in the Paillier algorithm into operations with smaller moduli, further enhancing the efficiency of the Paillier algorithm in handling large-scale datasets, and reducing computational complexity and time costs. Experimental results demonstrate that with a global precision of 1024 bits in gmpy2, for a 2048-bit key length CRT-Paillier encryption algorithm, the encryption time is 91.30 ms, and the decryption time is 9.96 ms. The proposed scheme significantly enhances data security and operational efficiency within the VANET domain. © 2024 IEEE.

Analog meter is still widely used due to their mechanical stability and electromagnetic impedance. Relying on humans to read mechanical meters in some industrial scenarios is time-consuming or dangerous, it is difficult for current meter reading robots to operate quickly and maintain high accuracy in edge computing devices. computer vision-based meter reading systems can solve such dilemmas. We designed an SSD network-based meter image acquisition system that can run in real time in an NVIDIA Jetson NX development board. Moreover, the model can quickly classify meter types and locate meter coordinates in the presence of light changes, complex backgrounds, and camera angle deflection. Tested on NVIDIA Jetson NX using TensorRT acceleration, the inference speed and accuracy reached 9.238 FPS and 53.95 mAP, respectively. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

With the wide adoption of Web APIs released on Internet, users tend to reuse them for business requirements or software development. Mashup is a useful technology for composing Web APIs into a new and value-added application. With the increasing number of Web APIs and Mashups, the API-Mashup ecosystem has emerged based on the invocation relationship between Mashups and Web APIs. In this paper, we take ProgrammableWeb, a typical API-Mashup ecosystem, as an example to investigate its dynamic evolutionary analysis. Although there have been some works on the API-Mashup ecosystem, they mainly focus on static analysis, i.e., the static characteristics of the API- Mashup ecosystem on a fixed time point. This paper conducts a comprehensive study on the dynamic evolutionary analysis of the API-Mashup ecosystem with a long time range from 2005 to 2021. First, we conduct a dynamic statistical analysis based on the API-Mashup ecosystem dataset. Next, we construct two cooperation networks, one between Web APIs, and the other between their categories. And the general characteristics of the two cooperation networks are presented. Finally, we investigate the derived cooperation networks from four perspectives: dynamic characteristics, degree distribution, betweenness centrality, and assortative mixing. Meanwhile, the corresponding insights are uncovered. Our work provides a foundation for visualization and understanding of the API-Mashup ecosystem from the timeline. © 2023 IEEE.

With the development of Mashup technique, the number of Web APIs released on the Web continues to grow year by year. However, it is a challenging issue to find and select the desirable Web APIs among the large amount of Web APIs. Consequently, interactive Web API recommendation is used to alleviate the difficulty of service selection, when users or developers try to invoke Web APIs for solving their business requirements or software development requirements. Currently, there are several collaborative filtering based approaches proposed for Web API recommendation, while their recommendation performance is limited on both optimality and scalability. This paper proposes a light neural graph collaborative filtering based Web API recommendation approach, named LNGCF. Specifically, LNGCF learns user and item embeddings by linearly propagating them on the user-item interaction graph, and uses the weighted summation of the embeddings learned at all layers as the final embedding. Such simple, linear, and neat model is much easier to implement and train. A set of experiments are conducted on a real-world dataset. Experimental results demonstrate the substantial improvements on both optimality and scalability over the baselines. © 2023 IEEE.

With the rapid growth of wireless medical sensor networks (WMSNs) based healthcare applications, protecting both the privacy and security from illegitimate users, are major concern issues since patient’s precise information is vital for the proper diagnosis procedure. So, authentication protocol is one of the efficient mechanisms to deal with trustworthy and authentic users. Several authentication protocols have been proposed in WMSNs environment. However, the most of these protocols are so susceptible to security threats and not suitable for practical use. In this article, recently proposed Amin et al.’s authentication scheme is reviewed and some vulnerabilities like off-line password guessing attack, user impersonation attack, known session-key temporary information attack, the revelation of secret parameters, and identity guessing attack are pointed out. To overcome all the above mentioned vulnerabilities, we have proposed an enhanced three-factor based remote user authentication protocol in WMSNs environment. Further, the proposed protocol is validated using Burrows–Abadi–Needham logic and then simulated using Automated Validation of Internet Security Protocols and Applications tool. Moreover, the security analysis ensures that the proposed protocol is well protected from various types of malicious attacks. In addition, the performance evaluation shows better efficiency and suitability of our protocol over other related protocols. © Springer-Verlag GmbH Germany, part of Springer Nature 2018.

Entity alignment has emerged as a powerful technique for integrating knowledge graphs, facilitating the fusion of heterogeneous knowledge into a unified graph. The state-of-the-art methods combine both graph structures and side information for effective entity alignment. However, they neglect low-quality issues in data. Specifically, the emerging knowledge graphs in diverse fields amass a wealth of entities that lack not only adequate descriptions but also annotated alignments. These two limitations lead to the overfitting problem and degrade the alignment performance. To tackle these challenges, we propose DEBT, an innovative approach that systematically enhances entity alignment. It first enriches the descriptions of entities by aggregating their neighbors and attributes. Then, a bootstrap strategy is utilized to expand the training set by incorporating entity pairs with similarity scores exceeding a dynamically decreasing threshold. Experimental results demonstrate that our method achieves the state-of-the-art accuracy while reducing the number of annotated entity alignment pairs. © 2025 IEEE.

A graphene absorber has been designed in this message that is based on surface plasmon resonance (SPR). The absorber exhibits four perfect absorption peaks within the target frequency band, featuring an innovative structure with excellent tunability and incident-angle insensitivity. The absorber features a triple-layered framework, with a gold (Au) substrate as the bottom layer, a silica (SiO2) layer serving as the medium layer in the middle, and a graphene layer in a "#" symbol shape at the top. The absorber has a simple structure and is easy to fabricate. We then analyzed four variant that the absorber displays peak absorption efficiencies of 99.99 %, 99.32 %, 99.71 %, and 99.99 % when the frequencies are 7.5005 THz, 9.0920 THz, 10.1181 THz, and 11.3193 THz, respectively, all exceeding 99 %, demonstrating excellent absorption performance. Additionally, we set up four electric field monitors to plot the electric field energy distribution maps for the four absorption peaks. We then analyzed four variant structures derived from the original design, comparing the number of absorption peaks, absorption rates, and sensitivity, and concluded that the model structure proposed in this study is optimal. After changing Fermi degree and time of relaxation, adjustment of the waves can be realized. The absorber demonstrates insensitivity to the angle as the incidence angle is changed from 0° to 60°. Furthermore, with the change of environmental refractive index, the maximum sensitivity among peaks can reach 3586 THz/RIU, showcasing high sensitivity. Finally, we calculated the figure of merit (FOM) and quality factor (Q) values for our model, which we compared with those of other absorbers, concluding that our absorber performs exceptionally well in terms of FOM and Q values. Given these advantages, the absorber designed in this paper can be used in fields of sensors etc. © 2025 Korean Physical Society

Code completion, which can accelerate the software development process and improve the quality of software products, is an essential part of today's integrated development environments. It has become an important research topic in the field of software engineering. Recent studies have shown that the method of code completion based on the Abstract Syntax Tree (AST) learns syntactic information about the code, which helps to improve the accuracy of code completion. However, when modeling neural networks for ASTs, the sequencing operation of nodes leads to the loss of their hierarchical structure information. Meanwhile, traditional neural networks cannot predict many Out-of-Vocabulary (OoV) words in the terminal node values of AST. To alleviate the above problem, in this paper, we propose a Multiple-Path Learning neural network model for code completion (MPL) based on an AST by learning from a large-scale corpus. In this model, multiple paths such as context path, root path, and terminal node path are established to understand different code features required for node prediction and improve code representation ability. Based on the principle of program local repeatability, it also adopts a replication mechanism to copy the appropriate OoV words from the local terminal node path as the prediction result, further improving the prediction accuracy. The experimental results show that the MPL model has better performance than existing methods on the code completion task. © 2023 IEEE.
