The training of multi-agent reinforcement learning (MARL) tasks with the public goods dilemma (PGD) is difficult because the selfish actions of individual agents for high personal rewards may reduce the collective utility of the whole group. Existing solutions to this problem, e.g., reward gifting or intrinsic rewards, although inducing cooperation among agents in small groups, cannot guarantee fairness among agents’ policies and fail to achieve optimal group utility in large-scale systems. In this paper, we propose F4PGD, an effective method to train large-scale MARL tasks with PGD in a decentralized manner, which is inspired by Adam’s equity theory that the match between a person’s payoff and his contribution is the key incentive for people to contribute to the common good. In F4PGD, a mechanism is designed to match an agent’s reward with its contribution, which suppresses agents from taking a free ride and meanwhile encourages well-learned agents to contribute to public goods. Experimental results show that F4PGD effectively learns optimal policies for the whole group and guarantees fairness among agents in several typical MARL tasks with PGD. © 2024 The Authors.

While location information sharing technology provides convenience for unmanned driving and journey navigation, user journey information sharing has also become a disaster for privacy information leakage. The traditional differential privacy method can only perturb the data entirely and cannot consider the design of data availability. In this paper, the difference privacy algorithm is improved by combining it with the Apriori algorithm, and the relevant perturbation is carried out after mining the associated data of the user's trip. In the face of possible data attacks, the privacy protection of the sensitive information of the user's actual data is ensured while the availability of the data is ensured. By testing 3000 trip data generated by experimental simulation, the results show that the correlation information between the original datasets is destroyed. However good availability is maintained after the Laplace data perturbation of the proposed algorithm for both simultaneous and multi-person trips. © 2022 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.

Unlike highly purposeful search, a recommender system tends to uncover the user’s potential interests and is a personalized information filtering system. Recently, the performance of hypergraph neural networks in classification tasks has attracted much attention. Compared with traditional recommender systems, hypergraph neural network-based recommender systems have better mining higher-order associations, accurate modeling of multivariate relationships, handling of multimodal and heterogeneous data, and clustering advantages. This fact drives the development of recommendation algorithms based on hypergraph neural networks. To this end, we 1) define generic links of recommender systems, and systematically analyze the challenges of hypergraph neural network-based recommender systems in different research directions. 2) present some new perspectives on existing weaknesses and future developments. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

With the unprecedented prevalence of Industrial Internet of Things(IIoT)and 5G technology,various applications supported by industrial communication systems have generated exponentially increased processing tasks,which makes task assignment inefficient due to insufficient *** this paper,an Intelligent and Trustworthy task assignment method based on Trust and Social relations(ITTS)is proposed for scenarios with many tasks and few ***,ITTS first makes initial assignments based on trust and social influences,thereby transforming the complex large-scale industrial task assignment of the platform into the small-scale task assignment for each ***,an intelligent Q-decision mechanism based on workers'social relation is proposed,which adopts the first-exploration-then-utilization principle to allocate *** when a worker cannot cope with the assigned tasks,it initiates dynamic worker recruitment,thus effectively solving the worker shortage problem as well as the cold start *** importantly,we consider trust and security issues,and evaluate the trust and social circles of workers by accumulating task feedback,to provide the platform a reference for worker recruitment,thereby creating a high-quality worker ***,extensive simulations demonstrate ITTS outperforms two benchmark methods by increasing task completion rates by 56.49%-61.53%and profit by 42.34%-47.19%.

The effect of vanadium nitride(VN)particles additives on microstructure and mechanical properties of the extruded AZ31 Mg alloy was systematically *** experimental results revealed that the addition of 0.5 wt%VN decreased the average grain size of AZ31 Mg alloy from 6.4 to 4.9µ*** the increase in VN content,the refining effect would weaken because excessive VN particles would negatively affect the dynamic recrystallization process of the *** scanning electron microscopy and energy-dispersive spectroscopy indicated that AlN,VN and Al-V-N particles with different morphologies were distributed in the streamline along the extrusion direction during the extrusion *** mechanical properties of AZ31 Mg alloy vary with the addition of *** extruded AZ31+0.5 wt%VN Mg alloy possesses an excellent combination of high strength and *** yield strength and ultimate tensile strength of the extruded AZ31+0.5 wt%VN Mg alloy were increased without sacrificing *** is mainly due to the grain refinement caused by double-heterogeneous nucleation *** a further increase in VN content,the presence of excessive VN particles increases the stress concentration,and the initiation source of microcracks in the alloy during alloy deformation makes the cracks more easily propagated and results in a decrease in the ductility of the extruded alloy.

Predicting the International Roughness Index of JPCP and CRCP Rigid Pavement:A Random Forest(RF)Model Hybridized with Modified Beetle Antennae Search(MBAS)for Higher Accuracy

To improve the prediction accuracy of the International Roughness Index(IRI)of Jointed PlainConcrete Pavements(JPCP)and Continuously Reinforced Concrete Pavements(CRCP),a machine learning approach is developed in this study for the modelling,combining an improved Beetle Antennae Search(MBAS)algorithm and Random Forest(RF)*** 10-fold cross-validation was applied to verify the reliability and accuracy of the model proposed in this *** importance scores of all input variables on the IRI of JPCP and CRCP were analysed as *** results by the comparative analysis showed the prediction accuracy of the IRI of the newly developed MBAS and RF hybrid machine learning model(RF-MBAS)in this study is higher,indicated by the RMSE and R values of 0.2732 and 0.9476 for the JPCP as well as the RMSE and R values of 0.1863 and 0.9182 for the *** accuracy of this obtained result far exceeds that of the IRI prediction model used in the traditional Mechanistic-Empirical Pavement Design Guide(MEPDG),indicating the great potential of this developed *** importance analysis showed that the IRI of JPCP and CRCP was proportional to the corresponding input variables in this study,including the total joint faulting cumulated per KM(TFAULT),percent subgrade material passing the 0.075-mm Sieve(P_(200))and pavement surface area with flexible and rigid patching(all Severities)(PATCH)which scored higher.

Nowadays,enterprises need to continually adjust their business processes to adapt to the changes of business environments,especially when one business needs to be deployed in different application scenarios,which is called spatial variability in this *** the field of BPM(Business Process Management),configurable business process models have demonstrated their effectiveness in aspects of process modeling and model ***,we found that the existing techniques lead to complex configurable models,and are inadequate for model reuse especially for the spatial variability issue because they neglect the root impact of organizations on control flow.S-BPM(Subject-oriented Business Process Management)models provide a solid foundation for dealing with complex applications and help to bridge the gap between business and IT for process *** this paper,we propose an organization-driven business process configurable modeling approach for spatial variability by integrating both restriction and extension operations based on the S-BPM paradigm,in which business objects are also *** approach is validated with a general business process developed for the Real Estate Administration(REA)in a certain province of *** resulting configurable modeling framework can express the heterogeneous activity sequences for one business and has the potential to generate process models for uncertain environments in a new organization structure.

Fine-tuning Pre-trained Language Models (PLMs) is a popular Natural Language Processing (NLP) paradigm for addressing Named Entity Recognition (NER) tasks. However, neural network models often demonstrate poor generalization capabilities due to significant disparities between the knowledge learned by PLMs and the distribution of the target dataset, as well as data scarcity issues. In addition, token omission in predictions due to insufficient learning remains a challenge in NER. In this paper, we propose a kNN retrieval enhancement algorithm (WkNER) that incorporates word segmentation information to enhance the model's generalization ability and alleviate the problem of missing entity tokens in prediction. The introduction of word segmentation information is used to preliminarily determine the boundaries of entities and alleviate the common prediction errors of missing tokens within entities made by the fine-tuned model. Secondly, we find that non-entities in the retrieval table contain a large amount of redundant information, and explore the effects of introducing non-entity information of different scales on the model. Experimental results show that our proposed method significantly improves the performance of baseline models, and achieves better or compared recognition accuracy than previous state-of-the-art models in multiple public Chinese and English datasets. Especially in low-resource scenarios, our method achieves higher accuracy on 20% of the dataset than the original method on the full dataset. © 2024 ELRA Language Resource Association: CC BY-NC 4.0.

High-performance computing (HPC) systems has entered the exascale era, but I/O performance has lagged behind due to storage hardware limitations, creating a "storage wall effect"that hinders HPC systems full potential. Modern HPC storage systems employ a layered storage architecture with local node storage, burst buffers, and global parallel file systems to improve I/O performance. However, application workloads vary, and fast storage layers may not always outperform global parallel file systems, while a static storage software stack configuration may not achieve optimal performance across different applications. Traditional I/O optimization is time-consuming, laborintensive, and prone to human error. To address this issue, this paper proposes AIO, a data-driven I/O optimization method. AIO automatically selects the optimal storage hierarchy and software stack based on the task's I/O patterns, and further enhances performance by identifying and applying the most efficient configuration settings. We evaluated AIO with eight applications in a cluster that features shared burst buffers, local burst buffers, and a global shared file system. The experiments demonstrate that AIO effectively optimizes I/O performance, achieving an overall speedup of 2.74. © 2024 IEEE.
