Safeguarding Privacy in Real-Time Trajectory Releases for AI-Driven Consumer Applications

Intelligent consumer applications optimize product recommendations by analyzing users' real-time trajectory information and mobility patterns to gain insights into their consumption preferences. However, privacy concerns often cause individuals to hesitate when sharing their locations. This paper introduces a real-time trajectory release scheme called Dynamic Trajectory Releasing based on Geo-indistinguishability (DTRG) that ensures client-side data protection. A significant contribution of this work is the introduction of a novel concept, w-event Geo-indistinguishability, which extends the measurement of privacy for real-time trajectories. Building upon the theoretical foundation of w-event Geo-indistinguishability, we design a dynamic privacy budget allocation strategy that doesn't require pre-setting trajectory length. This strategy recycles unused privacy budgets and progressively reallocating them in a backward cumulative manner, enhancing the utilization efficiency of the privacy budget. By incorporating users' travel information for prediction, DTRG adaptively perturbs real locations based on prediction results. Through the collaborative operation of the Prediction Mechanism (PM), Detection Mechanism (DM) and Noisy Mechanism (NM), this approach further optimizes the utility of the budget. Experimental results demonstrate that DTRG significantly improves data availability, achieving up to a 36% increase compared to some competing algorithms while maintaining the desired level of privacy. © 1975-2011 IEEE.

EPM: Evolutionary Perception Method for Anomaly Detection in Noisy Dynamic Graphs

With the rapid expansion of interactions across various domains such as knowledge graphs and social networks, anomaly detection in dynamic graphs has become increasingly critical for mitigating potential risks. However, existing anomaly detection methods often assume noise-free dynamic graphs, overlooking the prevalence of noisy dynamic graphs in real-world applications. Specifically, noisy dynamic graphs affected by structural noises-such as spurious and missing nodes and edges-struggle to consistently provide reliable structural evidence for anomaly detection. To tackle this challenge, we propose an Evolutionary Perception Method (EPM) for identifying anomalous nodes in noisy dynamic graphs by resisting the interference of structural noises. EPM primarily consists of two components: a dynamic fitter and a filtering reviser. The dynamic fitter characterizes the interaction dynamics of nodes that removes and generates links at each period as a multiple superposition state, utilizing various link prediction algorithms to fit evolutionary mechanisms. Additionally, the filtering reviser designs evolutional entropies to quantify the evolutional uncertainty in multiple superposition states, further designing the Kalman filter to optimize these entropies. Extensive experiments show that the proposed EPM method surpasses state-of-the-art approaches in detecting anomalous nodes in noisy dynamic graphs. © 1989-2012 IEEE.

Timing and Resource Analysis of Emergency Response Process Using Petri Nets

Emergency response is any systematic response to unexpected events that pose potential risk and/or damage to human life or property. Outbreak of virus, leak of poisonous chemicals, and terrorist attack are just a few examples. The goal of emergency response is to minimize the adverse impact of an incident to society and the environment. To guarantee the implementation of its handling procedure, adequate resources must be available. The success of emergency response also relies on the timeliness of related rescue actions. This paper presents resource-oriented timed workflow nets for the modeling and analysis of the resource requirements in responding to an emergency incident, as well as the time required to complete prescribed response tasks. This new model provides a formal basis for process designers and practitioners to examine the readiness and efficiency of their emergency plans. The presented algorithm can be applied to workflows with sequential, concurrent, decision-making and repetitive structures. A case study on chemical spill response is presented to illustrate the application of the proposed model.

Heterogeneous signcryption scheme from CLC to IBC for IIoT

The Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) involves the real-time gathering of information from physical devices and technologies for improved perception and management. To ensure information transmission security, an efficient and secure cryptography scheme is needed, especially for devices under resource constraints. In this paper, a heterogeneous signcryption (HSC) scheme is designed to meet security requirements in the IIoT environment. This construction employs a heterogeneous system, with the sender using certificateless cryptography (CLC) to effectively solve the key escrow problem in identity-based cryptography (IBC) and the certificate management problem in public key infrastructure (PKI). The receiver, on the other hand, uses IBC to settle the certificate management issue in PKI. The scheme supports formal security proof in the random oracle model (ROM). Furthermore, the detailed performance analysis demonstrates that the scheme has advantages in terms of energy consumption and computation overhead, making it suitable for the IIoT environment.

Efficient and Effective Prompt Tuning via Prompt Decomposition and Compressed Outer Product

Prompt tuning (PT) offers a cost-effective alternative to fine-tuning large-scale pre-trained language models (PLMs), requiring only a few parameters in soft prompt tokens added before the input text. However, existing PT approaches face two significant issues: (i) They overlook intrinsic semantic associations between soft prompt tokens, leading to high discreteness and limited interactions, thus reducing the model’s comprehension and effectiveness in complex tasks. (ii) Due to the complexity of downstream tasks, long soft prompt is necessitated to improve performance, but prompt length correlates positively with memory usage and computational costs. Achieving high efficiency and performance remains an ongoing challenge. To address these issues, we propose a novel Low-pAraMeters Prompt Tuning (LAMP) method, which leverages prompt decomposition and compressed outer product. Specifically, the prompt decomposition module employs Truncated SVD to reduce training parameters and significantly lower the dimensionality of the soft prompt parameter space. It then utilizes a compressed outer product module to facilitate multiple interactions among prompt tokens, exploring their intrinsic associations to enhance knowledge representation. Finally, LAMP uses average pooling to reduce memory usage and training/inference time. Extensive experiments across six architectures and eight datasets demonstrate that LAMP outperforms state-of-the-art PT-based and LoRA-based methods in performance and efficiency. © 2025, CC BY.

The Direct Segment Anything Model (DirectSAM) excels in class-agnostic contour extraction. In this paper, we explore its use by applying it to optical remote sensing imagery, where semantic contour extraction-such as identifying buildings, road networks, and coastlines-holds significant practical value. Those applications are currently handled via training specialized small models separately on small datasets in each domain. We introduce a foundation model derived from DirectSAM, termed DirectSAM-RS, which not only inherits the strong segmentation capability acquired from natural images, but also benefits from a large-scale dataset we created for remote sensing semantic contour extraction. This dataset comprises over 34k image-text-contour triplets, making it at least 30 times larger than individual dataset. DirectSAM-RS integrates a prompter module: a text encoder and cross-attention layers attached to the DirectSAM architecture, which allows flexible conditioning on target class labels or referring expressions. We evaluate the DirectSAM-RS in both zero-shot and fine-tuning setting, and demonstrate that it achieves state-of-the-art performance across several downstream benchmarks. © 2025 IEEE.

With the success of 2D diffusion models, 2D AIGC content has already transformed our lives. Recently, this success has been extended to 3D AIGC, with state-of-the-art methods generating textured 3D models from single images or text. However, we argue that current 3D AIGC methods still don't fully unleash human creativity. We often imagine 3D content made from multimodal inputs, such as what it would look like if my pet bunny were eating a doughnut on the table. In this paper, we explore a novel 3D AIGC approach: generating 3D content from IDEAs. An IDEA is a multimodal input composed of text, image, and 3D models. To our knowledge, this challenging and exciting 3D AIGC setting has not been studied before. We propose the new framework Idea23D, which combines three agents based on large multimodal models (LMMs) and existing algorithmic tools. These three LMM-based agents are tasked with prompt generation, model selection, and feedback reflection. They collaborate and critique each other in a fully automated loop, without human intervention. The framework then generates a text prompt to create 3D models that align closely with the input IDEAs. We demonstrate impressive 3D AIGC results that surpass previous methods. To comprehensively assess the 3D AIGC capabilities of Idea23D, we introduce the Eval3DAIGC-198 dataset, containing 198 multimodal inputs for 3D generation tasks. This dataset evaluates the alignment between generated 3D content and input IDEAs. Our user study and quantitative results show that Idea23D significantly improves the success rate and accuracy of 3D generation, with excellent compatibility across various LMM, Text-to-Image, and Image-to-3D models. Decision support system (DSS) is a computer-based tool used to improve decision-making capabilities for any organization, using analysis of the available *** heart-kidney (HK) model proposed in this paper as a DSS simulates the physiological processes of the heart and kidneys in the human body to support cancer detection. The first part of the HK algorithm is inspired by the functions of the heart, where blood molecules (solutions) are sent to the heart, simulating the processes of oxygenation and the pumping of oxygenated blood to the kidneys as a local search. The solutions generated by the heart are then fed into the kidney-inspired algorithm (KA), which performs filtration, reabsorption, secretion, and excretion. The heart component enhances the KA's local search capability, guiding the algorithm toward optimal solutions. The HK model is evaluated on eight test functions, with results compared to those of the heart algorithm and KA alone. Additionally, the HK algorithm's effectiveness as a decision support system is tested on benchmark classification and time series prediction problems, with statistical analysis against existing methods in the literature. Finally, the HK algorithm is applied to cancer detection from microRNA data, demonstrating its potential in optimizing decision-making processes in healthcare. © 2013 IEEE.

The intricacies and instability of introducing cryogenic propellants into the combustion system have piqued the curiosity of scientists studying the procedure. The latest innovation is utilizing data-driven machine learning and deep learning approaches to gain deeper insights into the related difficulties. However, the current work serves as a baseline for future research because relatively few studies have used data-driven methodologies to assess the temperature of liquid fuel injections in combustion systems. The performance of Linear Regression (LR), Random Forest (RF), Extra Trees Regressor (ETR), Polynomial Regression (PR), Support Vector Regressor (SVR), Decision Tree Regressor (DTR), Gradient Boost Regressor (GBR), XGB Regressor (XGBoost), AdaBoost Regressor (ABR), K-Neighbors Regressor (KNR), Long-Short Term Memory (LSTM), Bi-LSTM (Bi-directional Long-Short Term Memory) has all been investigated in this study. The study also suggested a Fully Connected Neural Network (FCNN) to examine its performance and paired it with an Extra Tree Regressor (ETR). The coupled FCNN and Extra Tree Regressor outperform the other algorithms with a Mean Square Error (MSE) of 0.0000005062, Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) of 0.00071148, Mean Absolute Error (MAE) of 0.00020672, and R-squared (R2) value of 0.99998689. Linear Regression, Polynomial Regression, and Support Vector Regressor are found to be the least-performing algorithms. The current work uses machine learning and deep learning methods to make data-driven decisions for liquid fuel injection in the combustion system. © The Author(s) 2025.
