Development of Technologies for Prevention of Wild-Animal Related Losses to Agricultural Fields

Over the past decades, integration of wireless sensor networks (WSNs) and computer vision (CV) technology has shown promising results in mitigating crop losses caused by wild animal attacks. Studies have demonstrated the effectiveness of these technologies in providing real-time monitoring and early detection of animal intrusions into agricultural fields. By deploying WSNs equipped with motion sensors and cameras, farmers can receive instant alerts when wild animals enter their fields, allowing for timely intervention to prevent crop damage. Furthermore, advancements in CV algorithms possess made possible to automatically detect and classify the animal species, facilitating targeted response strategies. For example, sophisticated image processing techniques can differentiate between harmless birds and destructive mammals, allowing farmers to focus their efforts on deterring the most damaging species. Field trials and pilot projects implementing WSN-CV systems have reported significant reductions in crop losses attributed to wild animal raids. By leveraging data collected through sensor networks and analyzed using computer vision algorithms, farmers can make informed decisions regarding pest and insect management strategies. This data-driven approach has led to more efficient utilization of resources, such as targeted application of insecticides and pesticides, resulting in both economic and environmental benefits. Moreover, the integration of WSN-CV technology has enabled the development of innovative deterrent systems that leverage artificial intelligence and automation. These systems can deploy non-lethal methods, such as sound or light-based repellents, to deter wild animals without causing harm to the environment or wildlife populations. Overall, the combination of wireless sensor networks and computer vision technology provides the promising resolution to the long-standing issue of wild animal-related losses in agriculture. Convolutional Neural Networks Aided Reinforcement Learning for Accelerated Optimization of Antenna Topology

A machine learning (ML) framework is proposed to achieve the automatic and rapid optimization of antenna topologies. A convolutional neural network (CNN) is utilized as a surrogate model (SM) and is combined with reinforcement learning (RL) algorithms. Specifically, the RL agent interacts with simulation software to learn. Data accumulated from electromagnetic (EM) simulations are used to train the SM. The CNN-based SM predicts antenna performance based on the topology of the antenna. Subsequently, the SM replaces EM simulations within the RL training environment. The RL agent interacts with the CNN-based SM to search for the optimal topology. This approach significantly reduces dependence on time-consuming EM simulations. To validate the effectiveness of the optimization method, a center-fed microstrip patch antenna is optimized. Simulation results demonstrate that, compared to other optimization methods, impedance bandwidth is improved, while the number of simulation samples and optimization time are significantly reduced. © ACES.

Advanced Feature Extraction and Machine Learning Techniques for Classifying Steam Game Feedback

The gaming industry produces vast amounts of user-generated feedback, making it challenging for developers to efficiently analyze and respond to real-time reviews. This study addresses the problem of classifying large-scale unstructured user feedback from Steam reviews. In this paper an approach that integrates traditional machine learning models and deep learning models is proposed. XGBoost is used to manage feature-rich datasets, reducing overfitting. Long-short-term memory (LSTM) and Bi-directional LSTM are used to enhance the accuracy and robustness of classification. Feature extraction techniques, such as sentiment analysis and topic modeling, are employed to enrich the dataset and improve model performance. The experimental results show that the XGBoost model achieved the highest performance with an accuracy of 0.9499 and a ROC-AUC score of 0.6113, demonstrating superior performance in distinguishing between positive and negative feedback. In comparison, deep learning models such as LSTM and Bi-directional LSTM showed lower ROC-AUC scores, indicating less effectiveness in handling the classification task. This approach offers game developers a reliable and scalable solution for classifying user sentiment, leading to better game improvements based on user reviews. © 2025 by the authors of this article.

The difficulty with dynamic and heterogeneous natured edge computing environments is resource provisioning. Reinforcement Learning (RL) can be promising to solve the problems of resource allocation under conditions of dynamics and complexity. This research work presents a novel DDPG-based (Deep Deterministic Policy Gradient) approach for optimizing the dynamics of resource allocation in edge computing environments by exploiting the CRAWDAD KAIST-WIBRO dataset for the proposed model. This approach implements a neural network that learns the optimal policies of allocations with dynamism towards new changes in workloads and resource availabilities. In order to test the performance of this method, conducted several simulations over real-world workload and resource data, mapping the parameters like rewards and variation in episodes. The simulation results indicate that proposed approach performs superior compared to traditional heuristic-based approaches as well as other RL algorithms for resource usage, response time, and energy efficiency. This proposed approach permits optimized resource utilization along with quality of service, of paramount importance in executing complex and demanding applications at the edge computing environment. © 2025 IEEE.

Hypertension, also referred to as high blood pressure, is a condition arising from the consistently high blood pressure against artery walls. The volume and output of blood from the heart primarily control blood pressure under stiff or tight arterial conditions. High pulse pressure leads to increased blood pressure, since the pumping of more blood makes the arteries inactive. The World Health Organization has a comprehensive guideline in which an evidence-based pharmacological approach has been recommended for managing adult patients with hypertension, not neglecting to mention lifestyle modification in order to support medicinal treatment. Machine learning may revolutionize the way hypertension treatment is projected for the management of personalized treatment routines for patients based on their characteristics. ML provides great promise in seeking ideal medication and predicting responses thereof against massive sets of data for hypertensive patients. The techniques allow for the determination of the individual risk for hypertension and ensure that treatment protocols are optimal. Compared to methods used to predict hypertension in the past, ML algorithms show a marked improvement in performance. © 2025 IEEE.

This paper presents a high-security medical image encryption method that leverages a novel and robust sine-cosine *** map demonstrates remarkable chaotic dynamics over a wide range of *** employ nonlinear analytical tools to thoroughly investigate the dynamics of the chaotic map,which allows us to select optimal parameter configurations for the encryption *** findings indicate that the proposed sine-cosine map is capable of generating a rich variety of chaotic attractors,an essential characteristic for effective *** encryption technique is based on bit-plane decomposition,wherein a plain image is divided into distinct bit *** planes are organized into two matrices:one containing the most significant bit planes and the other housing the least significant *** subsequent phases of chaotic confusion and diffusion utilize these matrices to enhance *** auxiliary matrix is then generated,comprising the combined bit planes that yield the final encrypted *** results demonstrate that our proposed technique achieves a commendable level of security for safeguarding sensitive patient information in medical *** a result,image quality is evaluated using the Structural Similarity Index(SSIM),yielding values close to zero for encrypted images and approaching one for decrypted ***,the entropy values of the encrypted images are near 8,with a Number of Pixel Change Rate(NPCR)and Unified Average Change Intensity(UACI)exceeding 99.50%and 33%,***,quantitative assessments of occlusion attacks,along with comparisons to leading algorithms,validate the integrity and efficacy of our medical image encryption approach.

A significant factor in data transfer is computer science. Security considerations make it difficult to transmit sensitive data or have conversations via the internet. Typically, cryptography is used to transmit text-based underground messages and conceal in sequence. These days, there are numerous methods for concealing information on any media. A technique like this is steganography. The creation of a covert communication system that uses multi-image steganography will enable safe communication among the dispatcher and the recipient free from hacker intervention. Image steganography is the main technique for information hiding. It involves integrating the cipher text within a picture called the cover picture that is very difficult for strangers to view through an unassisted eye. Within a cover image, the concealed data may take the shape of any kind of text, picture, music, or even video. The secret code is split up into several pieces and etched into several cover images, according to the conceptual notion of multi-image steganography. Thus, in order to make it extremely difficult for the hackers to hide the data, we suggested two image steganography concepts. In order to create a safe and protected system, this learning suggest by means of the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) approach of cryptography with the Least Significant Bit (LSB) method of steganography. Manufacturers must be able to figure out the most suitable technique capable of generating rapid and accurate performance when developing a precise modelling approach for the development of an efficient machining process. This paper assesses the predictive capabilities of the Artificial Neural Network (ANN) and the response surface methodology in the titanium machining process with respect to tool tip temperature and tool wear. The adequacy of the ANN in modeling and forecasting reactions were rigorously examined and contrasted using data collected from properly prepared machining experiments. Both approaches performed admirably in terms of forecasting machining process responses. The coefficient of correlation (R2) obtained from the analysis verifies the ANN’s choice, with a maximum value of 99.9% and with the response surface methodology with a maximum value of 99.8% was found. The experiment also demonstrates that when the proper parameters are used, the ANN approach can produce the best results. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2025.

This research introduces DeepFakeGuard, a hybrid deep learning framework designed to detect fake profiles on social media platforms, addressing the growing threat of fraudulent accounts online. DeepFakeGuard integrates multiple data modalities, including textual, visual, behavioral, and network features, to accurately classify profiles as real or fake. Leveraging advanced deep learning models such as BERT for textual analysis, ResNet for image processing, and LSTM for modeling behavioral patterns, DeepFakeGuard provides a comprehensive and robust solution for identifying fake profiles across diverse platforms. The framework processes a rich set of profile characteristics, including account information, posting behavior, post sentiment, and network relationships, ensuring a multi-dimensional analysis of social media accounts. The hybrid architecture of DeepFakeGuard merges outputs from individual sub-models, which are then processed through dense layers for final classification using a sigmoid activation function. This multi-faceted approach significantly enhances detection accuracy, precision, and recall compared to traditional methods. The framework is highly scalable and adaptable to various social media platforms, offering a versatile tool for strengthening online security. With strong performance metrics, including high classification accuracy, DeepFakeGuard demonstrates its potential for real-world applications in mitigating the risks associated with fake profiles. By fostering secure and trustworthy social media environments, this research contributes to the ongoing fight against fraudulent accounts, paving the way for safer online interactions. © 2025 IEEE.
