Gamification is not a newly emerging concept. Perhaps, it is a new term to some people. Gamification is a powerful new strategy to influence and motivate groups of people. It applies game mechanics to non-game activities to change the user's behavior of an application. It improves the engagement of user by keeping score of points earned through various activities on the application. The recent gamified websites or a related service such as Foursquare is a location-based application that pinpoints where you are and your activities. Users of the Foursquare can "check in" to various locations on their mobile phones and gain incentives like badges or deals. Gamification is utilised as a mean to build up user loyalty, and not so much to gain their long-term engagement. This article discusses how the gamification can help to drive the sustainability after a mobile application has been delivered and is in use. It is important to make mobile application continuously visible and sustainable if the concept of gamification has been used correctly. The more users can gain from the virtual and tangible rewards of using our application, the more we can be rewarded from our users. It also discusses how adding a "game layer" has improved the basic functions in society like educating people to become more responsible and helpful and use badges as virtual reward to users who contribute photos. Interactive mobile application designed to change the way of people report road accident cases with applying a simplicity and convenience principles. For instance, user just needs to snap photo and touch on screen to report a road accident case. © 2011 IEEE.

Drowsy driving poses a major threat to road safety, demanding effective solutions. To address this issue, this paper introduces a cutting-edge drowsy driving detection system that leverages advanced face detection algorithms to analyze real-time facial features. By closely monitoring eye movements and mouth patterns, the system is capable of accurately identifying early signs of fatigue. In response, timely warnings are promptly issued to the driver through various means, including audible alarms, visual cues, or even physical interventions. Although the system holds great potential in enhancing road safety, there are still challenges to overcome, particularly regarding accuracy and adaptability. However, ongoing research endeavors aim to refine the algorithms and integrate additional physiological and behavioral measures, with the goal of further improving the system's capabilities. By preventing accidents caused by drowsiness, this innovative system demonstrates a promising pathway towards bolstering road safety. By addressing the critical issue of drowsy driving, it contributes significantly to the overall safety of drivers and passengers alike, making our roads a safer place for everyone. © 2023 IEEE.

This article proposes a stochastic multilevel-state framework to model the animal’s behavior. The motivation of this article is the variety behavior influenced by several factors, which can lead to the state explosion. The proposed framework processes data from an automated sensing system and constructs the model. The data gathered from captive Antelope goral (Naemorhedusgriseus) in Chiang Mai Night Safari, Thailand. The data is gathered from the activity and the environmental factors in the cage by none invasive method. The model separated observed data into two main classes: the upper-level data and the lower-level data. The upper-level data represents the environment data such as temperature, humidity, and light density. Moreover, the landscape of the captivity area also takes into consideration. On the other hand, the lower-level represents the location of the animal of interested in the captivity area. The working strategy of this work is to cluster the each type of data and link them together by a stochastic approach. Both layers of data will be handled independently in clustering algorithm and determine probabilistic of state transaction. From the data observed from the sensor, the Probabilistic Automaton (PA) function is constructed. It is a function of producing the next stage based on the previous behavior states. The initial state of the framework is in the lower-level data (the current location of the animal). Then, the PA using the current lower stage and the current upper stage generates the next stage, location of the animal. Both the lower stage and the upper stage are traverse along the constructed automaton. The result can suggest computing methods, which can utilize to zoo research, which performs behavior monitoring, and in the other studies area, or subject of study, such as, air pollution dispersion that tracks the movement of pollutant according to the environment. The benefits of the proposed methods also can be used to create the application

We describe a new scalable display framevvork, called iTILE, designed to help ease the development of interactive graphics applications that run on a large tiled display. The framevvork supports the execution of multiple interactive scene-graph applications, synchronized rendering, distributed data sharing, and unified user interface mechanism on a cluster-driven tiled display. It enables the application window launching, moving and resizing on a tiled display that requires a dynamic reconfiguration of rendering nodçs. It also provides the standardized method to support various input devices for the interactive contents. This paper presents the design and the implementation of iTILE architecture and a few applications built using this framevvork.

In this paper, we propose a sentence segmentation model for a semi-automatic tree annotation tool using a parsing model. For the purpose of improving both parsing performance and parsing complexity without any modification of the parsing model, the tree annotation tool performs two-phase parsing for the intra-structure of each segment and the inter-structure of the segments after segmenting a sentence. Experimental results show that it can reduce manual effort about 28.3% by the proposed sentence segmentation model because an annotator's intervention related to cancellation and reconstruction remarkably decrease. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2006.

Due to the time and hardware restriction, the amount of feedback information is limited in each image retrieval loop. To solve this problem, this paper proposes an effective relevance feedback (RF) method based on Support Vector Machine (SVM) framework, which increases the amount of feedback information by cluster analysis and utilizing unlabeled images to build SVM classifier. As a result, a pseudo-label strategy, consist of a feature subspace partition algorithm and a cluster analysis scheme, is proposed for unlabeled images selection. Experimental results demonstrate the relative high effectiveness of our proposed active framework. © 2017 IEEE.

Time dependent energy tariffs are a matter of concern to managers in organisations, who need to rethink how to allocate resources to business processes so that they take into account energy costs. However, due to the time-dependent costs, the resource optimisation problem needs to be redesigned. In this paper we formalise the energy-aware resource allocation problem, including time-dependent variable costs;and present a case study in which an auction mechanism is used to find a solution. Our results show how the choice of cost (energy, monetary, or duration) affects the schedules obtained.

Chinese calligraphy, is the essence of Chinese culture, and it contains a variety of different styles. However, distinguishing these styles is not so easy. In order to study the key elements that distinguish calligraphy styles, we constructed the regular script character libraries from six calligraphers and concatenated four groups: entire Chinese characters, simple strokes "Yi", structural strokes, and mixed groups. Using an innovative gamified voting method, we collected data from students on the calligraphy styles they used to differentiate. Through the multi-dimensional scaling algorithm, we used spatial distribution diagrams to describe the differentiation results of these four different groups in Chinese calligraphy styles. The research results show that the simple stroke "Yi" is indeed enough to distinguish different calligraphy styles. This challenges the previous belief that only the whole character can determine the expression of calligraphy style. Our research "Seeing the entire surface through one dot" can distinguish calligraphy styles with simple strokes, which will provide new opinions on the artistic aesthetics of Chinese calligraphy. ©2023 IEEE.

Recurrent neural network (RNN) is a popular deep learning model for sentiment classification. Most RNN models benefit from the power of the depth of the deep learning network. However, training a sufficiently deep RNN using one word-embedding vector has a problem of feature reuse. In addition, deeper neural networks are more difficult to train. To overcome these problems, in this paper, we describe a sentiment classification model that combines a wide word embedding network architecture and a residual RNN. Firstly, more than one word-embedding vectors are pre-trained to obtain a larger feature space;Secondly, extend the RNN to be a deeper architecture, then employ a residual learning to ease the deep training of networks. Finally, experimental evaluations are conducted on two benchmarks, the results of the proposed networks demonstrate a good applicability for the sentiment classification problem. © 2018 ACM.

Data mining & statistics analysis is the search for valuable information in large volumes of data. It is now widely used in health care industry. Especially breast cancer is the second most cause of cancer and the second most dangerous cancer. The best way to improve a breast cancer victim's chance of long-term survival is to detect it as early as possible. Currently there are three methods to diagnose breast cancer: mammography, FNA (fine needle aspirate) and surgical biopsy. The diagnose accuracy of mammography is from 68% to 79%, the accuracy of FNA is inconsistent with varying from 65% to 98%t the accuracy of a surgical biopsy is nearly 100%. The procedure of a surgical biopsy, however, is both unpleasant and costly. In this paper, we use a FNA with a data mining & statistics method to get an easy way to achieve a best result. We combine some statistical methods such as PCA, PLS linear regression analysis with data mining methods such as select attribute, decision trees and association rules to find the unsuspected relationships. In addition, the experimental results are shown and discussed.
