Generalization and differentiation of affective associative memory circuit based on memristive neural network with emotion transfer

Most existing research on affective associative memory neural network circuits has predominantly concentrated on reinforcement and extinction, with insufficient attention given to the integration of emotion transfer alongside the principles of generalization and differentiation. To enhance the functionality of associative memory, this paper introduces a memristor-based affective associative memory neural network that incorporates generalization and differentiation under emotion transfer. The circuit implementation is carried out using PSPICE. The capabilities of learning, forgetting, emotion transfer, as well as generalization and differentiation under emotion transfer, are effectively realized and validated through simulation results. By examining generalization and differentiation under emotion transfer, this study presents an innovative approach to the field of affective associative memory neural networks based on memristors, particularly in relation to complex biological behaviors. © 2025 Elsevier Ltd

Dual Encoder Cross-Shape Transformer Network for Medical Image Segmentation in Internet of Medical Things for Consumer Health

In emerging consumer healthcare, high-performance and robust medical image segmentation methods are essential for personalized diagnosis and treatment. Thus, early screening of aneurysms reduces the risk of aneurysm rupture and provides therapeutic and preventive measures. However, uncontrollable factors such as uncertainty in the size and location shape of tumors in medical images a significant challenge to medical image segmentation. These factors make extracting high-quality features from aneurysm images difficult, resulting in poor segmentation. Then, we designed a dual encoder cross-shape transform network (DECSTNet) to capture aneurysm feature information. The dual encoder structure can extract aneurysm feature information at different scales, the adaptive dynamic feature fusion module can fuse features at different scales between the encoders, and the cross-shape window transform layer can compute the width and height of the image in parallel for local self-attention, which enhances the interactive capability of the telematic information while realizing the complementarity of the local information. Through extensive experiments, we demonstrate the excellent segmentation performance of DECSTNet on the private and three public datasets. Noteworthy our method has significant segmentation performance and fewer parameters, making it well-suited to be deployed on IoMT diagnostic platforms for medical image segmentation to promote healthy patient consumption. © 2025 IEEE.

The task of long-term action anticipation demands solutions that can effectively model temporal dynamics over extended periods while deeply understanding the inherent semantics of actions. Traditional approaches, which primarily rely on recurrent units or Transformer layers to capture long-term dependencies, often fall short in addressing these challenges. Large Language Models (LLMs), with their robust sequential modeling capabilities and extensive commonsense knowledge, present new opportunities for long-term action anticipation. In this work, we introduce the ActionLLM framework, a novel approach that treats video sequences as successive tokens, leveraging LLMs to anticipate future actions. Our baseline model simplifies the LLM architecture by setting future tokens, incorporating an action tuning module, and reducing the textual decoder layer to a linear layer, enabling straightforward action prediction without the need for complex instructions or redundant descriptions. To further harness the commonsense reasoning of LLMs, we predict action categories for observed frames and use sequential textual clues to guide semantic understanding. In addition, we introduce a Cross-Modality Interaction Block, designed to explore the specificity within each modality and capture interactions between vision and textual modalities, thereby enhancing multimodal tuning. Extensive experiments on benchmark datasets demonstrate the superiority of the proposed ActionLLM framework, encouraging a promising direction to explore LLMs in the context of action anticipation. © 1999-2012 IEEE.

We investigate a joint data compression and task scheduling problem for Low Earth Orbit Satellite Networks (LEOSNs), to maximize the sum weights of tasks while simultaneously minimizing the total data loss. First, we propose a novel Multi-Resource Conflict Graph (MRCG) model to characterize the intertwined communication and computation allocation conflicts inherent in typical data offloading processes of LEOSNs. Leveraging the proposed MRCG model, we then formulate the studied problem for LEOSNs as a linear integer program, to maximize the normalized weighted sum of both the sum task weight and the total data loss. We further explore the intrinsic structure of the linear integer program to propose an efficient solution using the Semi-Definite Relaxation (SDR) technique. Finally, the simulation results underscore that the synergistic optimization of data compression and task scheduling significantly facilitates the data offloading efficiency of LEOSNs, and the performances surpass existing benchmarks across a broad range of system parameters. © 1967-2012 IEEE.

Clear imagery of retinal vessels is one of the critical shreds of evidence in specific disease diagnosis and evaluation, including sophisticated hierarchical topology and plentiful-and-intensive capillaries. In this work, we propose a new topology- and shape-aware model named Multi-branch Vessel-shaped Convolution Network (MVCN) to adaptively learn high-resolution representations from retinal vessel imagery and thereby capture high-quality topology and shape information thereon. Two steps are involved in our pipeline. The former step is proposed as Multiple High-resolution Ensemble Module (MHEM) to enhance high-resolution characteristics of retinal vessel imagery via fusing scale-invariant hierarchical topology thereof. The latter is a novel vessel-shaped convolution that captures the retinal vessel topology to emerge from unrelated fundus structures. Moreover, our MVCN of separating such topology from the fundus is a dynamical multiple sub-label generation via using epistemic uncertainty, instead of manually separating raw labels to distinguish definitive and uncertain vessels. Compared to other existing methods, our method achieves the most advanced AUC values of 98.31%, 98.80%, 98.83%, and 98.65%, and the most advanced ACC of 95.83%, 96.82%, 97.09%,and 96.66% in DRIVE, CHASE_DB1, STARE, and HRF datasets. We also employ correctness, completeness, and quality metrics to evaluate skeletal similarity. Our method's evaluation metrics have doubled compared to previous methods, thereby demonstrating the effectiveness thereof. © 2025 Elsevier Ltd

The DSOGI-PLL with the repetitive control internal model suppresses the SSO in the PV system

The interaction between PV system and inductive grid impedance under weak grid is easy to cause sub-/super-synchronous oscillation (SSO). The coupling phenomenon between grid impedance and PLL cannot be ignored. In this paper, the influence of output phase of PLL on coordinate transformation is analyzed, and a mathematical model of PV inverter considering oscillation phase is established. By establishing and analyzing the mathematical model, the mechanism of SSO disturbance of photovoltaic inverter is expounded, and the disturbance can be divided into error disturbance and grid disturbance. According to the mechanism of the disturbance, a scheme combining DSOGI-PLL (Dual Second Order Generalized Integrator) and repetitive control internal model is proposed to suppress the SSO. For grid disturbance, the designed repetitive control internal model can eliminate the harmonics in the system. For error disturbance, DSOGI-PLL can eliminate the error of PLL output phase caused by grid voltage oscillation, and accurately lock the phase. The performance and robustness of the presented scheme are proved in time-domain simulations.

While the $$H_\infty $$ observer-based control has found widespread application in the literature for integer-order systems, researchers have shown less interest in addressing the same issue within the fractional-order framework. In this context, this study delves into the application of $$H_\infty $$ observer-based control for the Hadamard fractional-order system (HFOS) described by the Takagi–Sugeno fuzzy models (TSFM). Using Lyapunov approach and by employing a matrix decoupling technique, LMI based conditions ensuring the existence of an observer and controller, are proposed. To minimize the impact of disturbances on the controlled output, $$H_\infty $$ optimization technique is used. The validity of our approach is substantiated through an example, underscoring the robustness and reliability of our proposed findings.

This paper presents an algorithm that combines the chaos optimization algorithm with the maximum entropy ( COA-ME) by using entropy model based on chaos algorithm,in which the maximum entropy is used as the second method of searching the excellent solution. The search direction is improved by chaos optimization algorithm and realizes the selective acceptance of wrong solution. The experimental result shows that the presented algorithm can be used in the partitioning of hardware/software of reconfigurable system. It effectively reduces the local extremum problem,and search speed as well as performance of partitioning is improved.

HierDAMap: Towards Universal Domain Adaptive BEV Mapping via Hierarchical Perspective Priors

The exploration of Bird’s-Eye View (BEV) mapping technology has driven significant innovation in visual perception technology for autonomous driving. BEV mapping models need to be applied to the unlabeled real world, making the study of unsupervised domain adaptation models an essential path. However, research on unsupervised domain adaptation for BEV mapping remains limited and cannot perfectly accommodate all BEV mapping tasks. To address this gap, this paper proposes HierDAMap, a universal and holistic BEV domain adaptation framework with hierarchical perspective priors. Unlike existing research that solely focuses on image-level learning using prior knowledge, this paper explores the guiding role of perspective prior knowledge across three distinct levels: global, sparse, and instance levels. With these priors, HierDA consists of three essential components, including Semantic-Guided Pseudo Supervision (SGPS), Dynamic-Aware Coherence Learning (DACL), and Cross-Domain Frustum Mixing (CDFM). SGPS constrains the cross-domain consistency of perspective feature distribution through pseudo labels generated by vision foundation models in 2D space. To mitigate feature distribution discrepancies caused by spatial variations, DACL employs uncertainty-aware predicted depth as an intermediary to derive dynamic BEV labels from perspective pseudo-labels, thereby constraining the coarse BEV features derived from corresponding perspective features. CDFM, on the other hand, leverages perspective masks of view frustum to mix multi-view perspective images from both domains, which guides cross-domain view transformation and encoding learning through mixed BEV labels. Furthermore, this paper introduces intra-domain feature exchange data augmentation to enhance the efficiency of domain adaptation learning. Machine learning algorithms to predict stroke in China based on causal inference of time series analysis

Importance: Identifying and managing high-risk populations for stroke in a targeted manner is a key area of preventive healthcare. Objective: To assess machine learning (ML) models and causal inference of time series analysis for predicting stroke clinically meaningful model. Design: This is a retrospective cohort study and data is from China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study (CHARLS) assessed 11,789 adults in China from 2011 to 2018. Data analysis was performed from June 1 to December 1, 2024. Setting: CHARLS adopts a multi-stage probability sampling method, covering samples from 28 provinces, and collects data every two years through computer-aided personal interviews (CAPI). Participants: This study employed a combination of Vector Autoregression (VAR) model and Graph Neural Networks (GNN) to systematically construct dynamic causal inference. Multiple classic classification algorithms were compared, including Random Forest, Logistic Regression, XGBoost, Support Vector Machine (SVM), K-Nearest Neighbor (KNN), Gradient Boosting, and Multi Layer Perceptron (MLP). The SMOTE algorithm was used to undersample a small number of samples and employed Stratified K-fold Cross Validation. Main Outcome(s) and Measure(s): AUC (Area Under the Curve), Accuracy, Precision, Recall, F1 Score, and Matthews Correlation Coefficient (MCC). Results: This study included a total of 11,789 participants, including 6,334 females (53.73%) and 5,455 males (46.27%), with an average age of 65 years. Introduction of dynamic causal inference features has significantly improved the performance of almost all models.
