With the escalation of global warming and human activities, large-scale wildfires have become increasingly frequent, posing significant threats to both ecological environments and human societal safety. Satellite remote sensing technology plays a pivotal role in wildfire monitoring and risk assessment, providing extensive geographical coverage and continuous monitoring capabilities. Traditional methods for predicating wildfire risk, however, face limitations in processing large-scale remote sensing data, especially in cloud detection and temporal information analysis. In response to this challenge, a novel set of image processing algorithms has been developed to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of wildfire risk prediction. Initially, a cloud detection and removal algorithm based on deep learning is introduced. This algorithm effectively identifies and eliminates cloud interference in remote sensing images, thereby significantly improving the quality and usability of image data. Subsequently, a temporal information capturing technique is proposed, capable of processing vast amounts of remote sensing data and extracting time series features. This technique provides robust data support for wildfire risk prediction. The application of these technologies not only improves the efficiency of the data processing workflow but also enhances the timeliness and accuracy of the prediction model, holding significant practical importance for guiding actual wildfire prevention and response measures. © 2024 by the authors of this article.

Drug-Target Interactions Prediction Based on Signed Heterogeneous Graph Neural Networks

Drug-target interactions(DTIs) prediction plays an important role in the process of drug *** computational methods treat it as a binary prediction problem, determining whether there are connections between drugs and targets while ignoring relational types information. Considering the positive or negative effects of DTIs will facilitate the study on comprehensive mechanisms of multiple drugs on a common target, in this work, we model DTIs on signed heterogeneous networks, through categorizing interaction patterns of DTIs and additionally extracting interactions within drug pairs and target protein pairs. We propose signed heterogeneous graph neural networks(SHGNNs), further put forward an end-to-end framework for signed DTIs prediction, called SHGNN-DTI,which not only adapts to signed bipartite networks, but also could naturally incorporate auxiliary information from drug-drug interactions(DDIs) and protein-protein interactions(PPIs). For the framework, we solve the message passing and aggregation problem on signed DTI networks, and consider different training modes on the whole networks consisting of DTIs, DDIs and PPIs. Experiments are conducted on two datasets extracted from Drug Bank and related databases, under different settings of initial inputs, embedding dimensions and training modes. The prediction results show excellent performance in terms of metric indicators, and the feasibility is further verified by the case study with two drugs on breast cancer.

A graph neural network technique for the prediction of cerebral stroke using an unbalanced medical dataset

Cerebral stroke is a major health problem, and if not recognized and treated immediately, it can result in considerable morbidity and fatality. Predicting the possibility of a stroke can help with intervention, resulting in improved patient outcomes. However, constructing reliable stroke prediction algorithms can be difficult, especially when working with unbalanced medical data. Timely detection of the various warning signs of a stroke can significantly reduce its severity. To deal with unbalanced data, this research proposed the hybridization of two techniques Noise Reduction and oversampling technique (Noise Reduction-Border Line- Synthetic Minority Oversampling Technique (NR-BL-SMOTE) which only oversamples or strengthens the borderline minority class. It aims at eliminating noise from minority groups while preventing the making of noisy samples and BL-SMOTE is used to create synthetic data to balance the dataset. After that, feature extraction is done to extract features from the cerebral stroke prediction dataset using fine-tuned VGG19 architecture to improve the performance of the proposed model. The fine-tuned model uses an already trained network and re-trains the part of that by the new data set. Finally, classification is done using a graph neural network (GNN) to classify the prediction of normal or cerebral stroke (ischemic and hemorrhagic). Further, to optimize the accuracy of the classification performance;Improved Golden Jackal Optimization (IGJO) is done by repeating their iterations on the GNN hidden layer until we get the final optimal value. The proposed model will be simulated using the PYTHON tool. Then in the simulation results, the proposed approach achieves more powerful classification accuracy than established technologies, demonstrating its efficiency in stroke prediction and classification. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2025.

Disentangling facial expressions from other disturbing facial attributes in face images is an essential topic for facial expression *** methods only care about facial expression disentanglement(FED)itself,ignoring the negative effects of other facial *** to the annotations on limited facial attributes,it is difficult for existing FED solutions to disentangle all disturbance from the input *** solve this issue,we propose an expression complementary disentanglement network(ECDNet).ECDNet proposes to finish the FED task during a face reconstruction process,so as to address all facial attributes during *** from traditional reconstruction models,ECDNet reconstructs face images by progressively generating and combining facial appearance and matching *** designs the expression incentive(EIE) and expression inhibition(EIN) mechanisms,inducing the model to characterize the disentangled expression and complementary parts *** geometry and appearance,generated in the reconstructed process,are dealt with to represent facial expressions and complementary parts,*** combination of distinctive reconstruction model,EIE,and EIN mechanisms ensures the completeness and exactness of the FED *** results on RAF-DB,AffectNet,and CAER-S datasets have proven the effectiveness and superiority of ECDNet.

A multi-lesion segmentation method for diabetic retinopathy based on location information guidance

In order to solve the problem that the segmentation model does not pay enough attention to the lesion information and loses the lesion information, this paper proposes the MLS-Net (Multiple-Lesions-Segmentation-Net) segmentation model. Firstly, the lesions in the image are detected and reconstructed using the lesions information descriptor extraction module to preserve the location, scale and features of the lesions information (Lesion information descriptor). Secondly, the lesions information descriptors are combined with the downsampling part of the semantic segmentation module, so that the lesions information descriptors can play a role in guiding the location and features in the downsampling process of the model, in order for the segmentation module to pay more attention to the regions of the image where lesions exist. Compared with recent representative studies Ffu-net, the evaluation metrics of each lesions were improved by more than 2%. The problem of the model losing lesions information are effectively solved, and the performance of the DR semantic segmentation model is improved. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2024.

Prediction of stability in SG(Smart Grid)is essential in maintaining consistency and reliability of power supply in grid *** the fluctuations in power generation and consumption patterns of smart cities assists in effectively managing continuous power supply in the *** also possesses a better impact on averting overloading and permitting effective energy *** though many traditional techniques have predicted the consumption rate for preserving stability,enhancement is required in prediction measures with minimized *** overcome the complications in existing studies,this paper intends to predict stability from the smart grid stability prediction dataset using machine learning *** accomplish this,pre-processing is performed initially to handle missing values since it develops biased models when missing values are mishandled and performs feature scaling to normalize independent data ***,the pre-processed data are taken for training and *** that,the regression process is performed using Modified PSO(Particle Swarm Optimization)optimized XGBoost Technique with dynamic inertia weight update,which analyses variables like gamma(G),reaction time(tau1–tau4),and power balance(p1–p4)for providing effective future stability in *** PSO attains optimal solution by adjusting position through dynamic inertial weights,it is integrated with XGBoost due to its scalability and faster computational speed *** hyperparameters of XGBoost are fine-tuned in the training process for achieving promising outcomes on *** results are measured through evaluation metrics such as MSE(Mean Square Error)of 0.011312781,MAE(Mean Absolute Error)of 0.008596322,and RMSE(Root Mean Square Error)of 0.010636156 and MAPE(Mean Absolute Percentage Error)value of 0.0052 which determine the efficacy of the system.

The promotion and application of model-based systems engineering (MBSE) suffer from the lack of effective sharing of research and design (R&D) resources among enterprises in the networked collaborative design environment. This paper establishes a cross-enterprise R&D resource sharing incentive evolutionary game model, which considers multiple factors about resource sharers, sharing process and shared resource value information. The model analyses how various factors influence the evolution trend of sharing behavior. In addition, in order to realize the dynamic multidimensional evaluation and feedback of shared R&D resources and promote the positive development of resource sharing, this paper establishes a new dynamic double-objective resource evaluation model. The digital information resource in R&D resources is taken as an example to carry out experimental simulation and verification. Compared with the traditional evaluation methods, the new dynamic double-objective evaluation model established in this paper owns better performance on improving the cross-enterprise R&D resources collaborative sharing and further promoting the deep integration between R&D resources and R&D process under the networked collaborative design and MBSE development mode than others. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag GmbH Germany, part of Springer Nature 2024.

Improving Code Summarization With Tree Transformer Enhanced by Position-Related Syntax Complement

Code summarization aims to generate natural language (NL) summaries automatically given the source code snippet, which aids developers in understanding source code faster and improves software maintenance. Recent approaches using NL techniques in code summarization fall short of adequately capturing the syntactic characteristics of programming languages (PLs), particularly the position-related syntax, from which the semantics of the source code can be extracted. In this article, we present Syntax transforMer (SyMer) based on the transformer architecture where we enhance it with position-related syntax complement (PSC) to better capture syntactic characteristics. PSC takes advantage of unambiguous relations among code tokens in abstract syntax tree (AST), as well as the gathered attention on crucial code tokens indicated by its syntactic structure. The experimental results demonstrate that SyMer outperforms state-of-the-art models by at least 2.4% bilingual evaluation understudy (BLEU), 1.0% metric for evaluation of translation with explicit ORdering (METEOR) on Java benchmark, and 4.8% (BLEU), 5.1% (METEOR), and 3.2% recall-oriented understudy for gisting evaluation - longest common subsequence (ROUGE-L) on Python benchmark. © 2020 IEEE.

Cyberbullying,a critical concern for digital safety,necessitates effective linguistic analysis tools that can navigate the complexities of language use in online *** tackle this challenge,our study introduces a new approach employing Bidirectional Encoder Representations from the Transformers(BERT)base model(cased),originally pretrained in *** model is uniquely adapted to recognize the intricate nuances of Arabic online communication,a key aspect often overlooked in conventional cyberbullying detection *** model is an end-to-end solution that has been fine-tuned on a diverse dataset of Arabic social media(SM)tweets showing a notable increase in detection accuracy and sensitivity compared to existing *** results on a diverse Arabic dataset collected from the‘X platform’demonstrate a notable increase in detection accuracy and sensitivity compared to existing methods.E-BERT shows a substantial improvement in performance,evidenced by an accuracy of 98.45%,precision of 99.17%,recall of 99.10%,and an F1 score of 99.14%.The proposed E-BERT not only addresses a critical gap in cyberbullying detection in Arabic online forums but also sets a precedent for applying cross-lingual pretrained models in regional language applications,offering a scalable and effective framework for enhancing online safety across Arabic-speaking communities.

In visual tasks such as image classification, the presence of domain shift often renders deep neural network models trained solely on specific datasets unable to generalize to new domains. In practical applications, due to the high cost of annotating rare data, it is extremely challenging to label all source domain samples comprehensively. Moreover, existing unsupervised domain adaptation methods often lack modeling of class relationships. Therefore, we propose a few-shot unsupervised domain adaptation method based on confidence-guided class relationship embedding. This approach aims to identify high-confidence target samples corresponding to sparsely labeled source samples, forming an inter-domain cross-mixed dataset. By constructing inter-domain contrastive learning, we explicitly guide the transfer of knowledge from the source domain to the target domain, leveraging the domain invariance of class relationships. Additionally, considering the varying learning difficulties of different target samples, we have devised an intra-domain class relationship contrastive loss, which leverages easy samples to facilitate the learning of difficult-to-classify samples. Experiments demonstrate that this model contributes to enhancing the performance of domain adaptation tasks. © 2024 IEEE.
