Ransomware is a type of malware that targets users like government and business organizations. This malware stops the user from accessing their own data or resource and asks for ransom in return for getting their access back to the resource. It usually locks the screen or locks a particular resource. In recent years this attack has been a flourishing business for the attackers and a huge loss to other parties. In this work, we are giving an overview of ransomware attacks and discussing a detailed review of methodologies present to avoid, analyze, and detect the attack and to protect the user from this attack. By implementing some early preventions and techniques to combat these malicious software's, this study would be the ideal opportunity to coordinate and extend research efforts in the future. Here, we have generated a table for current methodology, its outcomes, and future trends of ransomware. In the last, we reviewed 30 papers, which contained machine learning based methods, results and analysis for the categorization, detection, and prevention of various ransomware attacks. © 2023 IEEE.

Pandemic-tracking apps may form a future infrastructure for public health surveillance. Yet, there has been relatively little exploration of the potential societal implications of such an infrastructure. In semi-structured interviews with 23 participants from India, the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), and the United States, we discussed attitudes and preferences regarding the deployment of apps that support contact tracing to contain the spread of COVID-19. Through interpretive analysis, we examined the relationship between persistent discomfort and vulnerability when using such apps. Such an examination yielded three temporal forms of vulnerability: real, anticipatory, and speculative. By identifying and defining the temporalities of vulnerability through an analysis of people's pandemic-related thoughts and experiences, we develop the overlapping discourses of humanistic infrastructure studies and infrastructural speculation. In doing so, we explore the concept of vulnerability itself and present implications for the study of vulnerability in Human-computer Interaction (HCI) and for the oversight of app-based public health surveillance. © 2022 Owner/Author.

In order to enable the construction of virtual simulation experiment resources in colleges and universities to keep up with the development of professional technology, this paper proposes to build a 'diversified virtual simulation experiment teaching resource construction system' through exploration and research. With the help of virtual reality, AR, panoramic roaming, video and other technologies, it provides a unified development framework, development documents and case templates for professional teachers to independently develop virtual simulation experiment teaching resources in line with undergraduate teaching, and helps teachers quickly build virtual simulation experiment resources in accordance with unified standards. It effectively solves the problems that it is difficult for college teachers to independently develop virtual simulation courseware and the technology is not unified. © 2022 IEEE.

Ensuring dependable quality of service (QoS) and quality of experience (QoE) for computation-intensive and delay-sensitive applications in vehicles can be a challenging task that impacts performance. While multi-access edge computing (MEC) based vehicular edge computing network (VECN) and vehicular cloudlets (VC) enable task offloading, but their prompt and optimal accessibility is another challenge. The conventional wireless technologies may not suffice to meet the stringent ultra-low latency and cost constraints of such applications. Nonetheless, the combination of different wireless technologies can enhance network performance and satisfy these requirements. Focusing on the computational efficacy of VECN, this paper proposes a mobility, contact, and computational load-aware (MCLA) task offloading scheme for heterogeneous VECN. The MCLA scheme dynamically considers the mobility, contact, and computational load of vehicles for making task offloading decisions. To optimize the performance, the MCLA scheme integrates the Mode-1 and Mode-2 of the 5G-NR-V2X standard, along with mmWave communications. The MCLA scheme provides an opportunistic switching mechanism between these modes and heterogeneous radio access technologies (RATs) to reduce communication delays and costs. Moreover, the MCLA scheme leverages public vehicles (i.e., public buses), in proximity by using their computational power to manage computational latency and cost. Furthermore, it also considers the shareable computations from passengers’ mobile equipment within the public vehicle to improve the computation capacity of the public vehicles. Extensive evaluations and numerical results show that the proposed MCLA scheme significantly improves the task turnover ratio by 4%–15% with 4.7%–29.8% lower transmission and computation costs. © 2023, CC BY.

Fingertip interactive tracking registration method for AR assembly system

Aiming at the problems of single input mode and lack of naturalness in the assembly process of existing AR systems, a tracking registration method of mobile AR assembly system is proposed based on multi-quantity and multi-degree of freedom natural fingertip interaction. Firstly, the real-time and stable tracking of hand area in complex environment is realized based on the hand region tracking; secondly, the fingertip detection and recognition based on K-COS and parallel vector is used to improve the precision and stability of fingertip recognition; thirdly, the special movement track of fingertip is recognized based on improved DTW algorithm, which has strong compatibility and feature gradient transformation for complex fingertip trajectory recognition; finally, through the real-time transformation of projection relationship between fingertip and virtual object, the interaction between fingertip and virtual object is made more natural and realistic. The experimental results show that in the complex environment of background, illumination, scale and rotation, the precision of fingertip detection and recognition is about 93%, and the precision of fingertip motion template matching is about 91%. The translation error of the registration method based on visual feature recognition is reduced by about 100pix compared with fingertip tracking registration method, and the efficiency of mobile AR-guided assembly method is improved by about 24.77% compared with the traditional manual assisted assembly method. These data verifies the strong interaction and practicability of the fingertips based on the user's multi-quantity and multi-degree of freedom features in the process of mobile AR guided assembly.

E-learning is globalized in a short period of time due to the physical distancing requirement for curbing the spread of COVID-19. There are two major challenges imposed by the migration from face-To-face learning to E-learning: live lecturing and lab sessions. In this survey, we studied the E-learning platforms used in the COVID-19 pandemic: learning management systems or course management systems, tools for live-lecturing and tools for lab sessions. We found that this migration is quite smooth with contemporary technologies and the Internet. Prescriptive suggestions are also provided for this migration. For the future trend of education, it is expected that E-learning will become a preferable education and learning style in the future, especially for self-study and life-long learning. © 2020 IEEE.

Purpose The aim of this work is to shed light on the issue of reproducibility in MR image reconstruction in the context of a challenge. Participants had to recreate the results of "Advances in sensitivity encoding with arbitrary k-space trajectories" by Pruessmann et al. Methods The task of the challenge was to reconstruct radially acquired multi-coil k-space data (brain/heart) following the method in the original paper, reproducing its key figures. Results were compared to consolidated reference implementations created after the challenge, accounting for the two most common programming languages used in the submissions (Matlab/Python). Results Visually, differences between submissions were small. Pixel-wise differences originated from image orientation, assumed field-of-view or resolution. The reference implementations were in good agreement, both visually and in terms of image similarity metrics. Discussion and Conclusion While the description level of the published algorithm enabled participants to reproduce CG-SENSE in general, details of the implementation varied, e.g., density compensation or Tikhonov regularization. Implicit assumptions about the data lead to further differences, emphasizing the importance of sufficient meta-data accompanying open data sets. Defining reproducibility quantitatively turned out to be non-trivial for this image reconstruction challenge, in the absence of ground-truth results. Typical similarity measures like NMSE of SSIM were misled by image intensity scaling and outlier pixels. Thus, to facilitate reproducibility, researchers are encouraged to publish code and data alongside the original paper. Future methodological papers on MR image reconstruction might benefit from the consolidated reference implementations of CG-SENSE presented here, as a benchmark for methods comparison.
