With the popularization of UAVs (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles) in surveillance, delivery services, environmental monitoring, and increasingly other operational aspects, besides the need to take off and land, efficient traffic management becomes integral for assuring and securing further development and exploitation. Most of the existing traffic management systems for UAVs depend on traditional rule-based algorithms or simpler machine learning techniques, such as DQN or PPO. However, these systems also have enormous challenges: dynamic environments, high-density traffic, and robust decision-making over unpredictable weather and network conditions. In addition, the above traditional models usually experience difficulties in balancing exploration and exploitation, leading to suboptimal routing and enlarged collision risks in complicated urban airspaces. These challenges have driven us to develop a new proposal: a UA V traffic management framework based on Double Deep Q-Network (DDQN) combined with Instruction-Based Learning. In this approach, advanced learning for DDQN optimizes processes at decision-making points for UAVs. The model proposed herein, along with comprehensive simulations and quantitative analyses, demonstrated higher performance in terms of leadership and cumulative rewards while keeping lower training loss compared to the classical algorithms such as DQN, A3C, and PPO. At the same time, the DDQN model presented a better success rate (95%), as also reflected in the balanced precision-recall curve showing an area under the curve of 0.90, over others in the on-point prediction of UAVstate and safety margin of collision. Our experimental results demonstrate that the proposed DDQN-based framework significantly enhances UA V traffic management by optimizing energy consumption in complex airspaces and reducing the risk of collision. © 2025 IEEE.

With the advancement of technologies, different methods are currently being used for converting spoken language into text. These systems offer a hands-free alternative to traditional input methods, especially for individuals with physical disabilities or those requiring efficient documentation of spoken content. The goal of this study is to review recent advancements in this field and highlight gaps in current research, with a focus on accuracy, language adaptability, ease of use, and the integration of various technologies. We also suggest future directions for enhancing and developing this technology further. © 2025 IEEE.

Modified simulated annealing for university teacher course assignment considering socio-cultural constraints

This paper aims to address the complex challenge of course assignment for faculty members within a Saudi university, taking into account the socio-cultural constraints imposed by gender-based segregation between students and faculty. To tackle this challenge, a combinatorial optimization model is proposed, which includes a binary representation of the problem, constraints reflecting gender segregation, and an objective function designed to maximize faculty satisfaction. The model employs a Simulated Annealing (SA) algorithm, supplemented with two neighborhood search heuristics (H1 and H2), to explore diverse combinations. Additionally, a greedy randomized adaptive search procedure Greedy Randomized Adaptive Search Procedure (GRASP) algorithm is implemented for comparative analysis, utilizing heuristic 1 for local search. Through the application of simulated annealing alongside both heuristics (SA_H1_H2), the optimal solution is achieved, resulting in a notable equilibrium of courses among faculty members. Objective 1 demonstrates the standardized deviation in workload distribution among faculty members, yielding a deviation value of 0.08. This study contributes to the field by proposing a novel approach to course assignment that explicitly addresses the gender-based segregation prevalent in Saudi universities. By integrating socio-cultural constraints into the optimization model and employing advanced algorithms, the study offers a pioneering solution to a previously unexplored problem domain. © Bharati Vidyapeeth's Institute of Computer Applications and Management 2024.

Efficient energy management is a cornerstone of advancing cognitive cities,where AI,IoT,and cloud computing seamlessly integrate to meet escalating global energy *** this context,the ability to forecast electricity consumption with precision is vital,particularly in residential settings where usage patterns are highly variable and *** study presents an innovative approach to energy consumption forecasting using a bidirectional Long Short-Term Memory(LSTM)*** a dataset containing over twomillionmultivariate,time-series observations collected froma single household over nearly four years,ourmodel addresses the limitations of traditional time-series forecasting methods,which often struggle with temporal dependencies and non-linear *** bidirectional LSTM architecture processes data in both forward and backward directions,capturing past and future contexts at each time step,whereas existing unidirectional LSTMs consider only a single temporal *** design,combined with dropout regularization,leads to a 20.6%reduction in RMSE and an 18.8%improvement in MAE over conventional unidirectional LSTMs,demonstrating a substantial enhancement in prediction accuracy and *** to existing models—including SVM,Random Forest,MLP,ANN,and CNN—the proposed model achieves the lowest MAE of 0.0831 and RMSE of 0.2213 during testing,significantly outperforming these *** results highlight the model’s superior ability to navigate the complexities of energy usage patterns,reinforcing its potential application in AI-driven IoT and cloud-enabled energy management systems for cognitive *** integrating advanced machine learning techniqueswith IoT and cloud infrastructure,this research contributes to the development of intelligent,sustainable urban environments.

This study provides an in-depth exploration of the use of multimodal techniques in developing adaptive learning systems designed for students with special needs using various neural network models: a Baseline Neural Network, Convolutional Neural Network, Attention Model, LSTM, GRU, and Transformer models. Adaptive learning systems play a major role in the customization of the educational process in such a way as to ensure the specific cognitive, behavioural and emotional needs of students with special educational needs are catered for. The models were trained using a sizeable amount of multimodal data that recorded factors such as academic achievement, behavioral interactions, and environmental factors. From our observations, it can be noted that transformer models and attention mechanisms allowed for higher performance in predicting and fulfilling the needs of students, and were more effective than simpler neural architectures. These findings suggest that more advanced and intelligent neural networks can improve how students with different learning abilities consume content and, consequently, provide better educational answers and solutions to the market. To identify the important features affecting student performance, various Explainable AI (XAI) techniques were utilized, including SHAP (Shapley Additive Explanations) values, logistic regression-based feature importance analysis, LIME (Local Interpretable Model-Agnostic Explanations), partial dependency plots, and whose global surrogate model was a Decision Tree Regressor. These XAI instruments allowed the model’s decision to be explained and visualized so that teachers could understand the main beneficiaries of the improved educational results. Such XAI methods enable transparency in how models make decisions, thus allowing educators to understand the reasons for certain recommended learning paths. © 2013 IEEE.

The long propagation delays in underwater acoustic channels can be leveraged to improve communication efficiency using spatial-temporal reuse techniques. This work focuses on a system of partially connected AUVs that continuously broadcast packets. A central controller gathers the location information of the AUVs and designs a broadcast sequence exploiting propagation delays to minimize the broadcast cycle. Since finding optimal solutions is time-consuming, we propose a scheduling algorithm that uses heuristics based on partial connections to reduce computational complexity. Additionally, we allow collision tolerance to shorten the broadcast cycle further and investigate the trade-off of the shorter broadcast cycle and collision probability, resulting in a scheduling algorithm exhibiting receiving-alignment properties. Simulations demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm in reducing broadcast cycles while maintaining low computational complexity. © 2012 IEEE.

Agriculture faces many challenges of precision farming, such as the need for sustainable practices, improving yields, ensuring high yields. In resolution to these challenges, the present research provides an AI-based system that enables the use of deep learning, Global Positioning System (GPS), and Geographic information System (GIS) technologies to create a highly intelligent smart agricultural precision farming system. Its goal is to monitoring crop health and reduce disease risk, which will lead to improved resource utilization and environmentally sustainability techniques. The proposed framework addresses the urgent need for consistency in agricultural practices, especially as global agriculture deals with pressures from climate change, resource shortages, and increasing demand for food. Traditional agricultural methods for predicting and optimizing crop yields due to increasing factors affecting crop performance Not enough generative AI, especially the use of deep learning models, supports agricultural research in many cases, allowing patterns to be identified and future results to be predicted accurately. The integration of GPS and GIS allows for more accurate mapping, real-time analysis, and effective decision-making. Weather forecasting variability, resource constraints, and demand for more food are isolated from environmental influences using deep learning models, especially Artificial Neural Networks (ANN). By using large data sets, including historical crop yield performance, soil properties, and weather conditions, the system provides highly accurate crop forecasts. Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs) and You Only Look Once (YOLO) hybrid model is playing a key role in generating crop yield and growth potential under different conditions, adjusting model accuracy over time, and this combination of ANN, GANs and YOLO optimization algorithms ensures that the system continuously enhances its predictive accuracy and overall effectiveness. Accurate brain tumor prediction is essential when approaching the field of health care;wherever accuracy in decision-making is crucial, the issues also need to be resolved right away. Many artificial intelligence and machine learning-based techniques have been developed in the last couple of years in the field of healthcare. The intention of this work is to create an algorithm that combines the features of Crow Search (CS) and Interval Type-II Fuzzy Logic System (IT2FLS) algorithms to distinguish the area of tumor from complex brain tissues. The ability of oncologists to make decisions is critical for any therapy sequence to be successful, and the methodology proposed in the research work considerably influences a conclusion through technology interruption. The suggested approach is flexible enough to work with a diversity of image sequences found in the BRATS Challenge 2020 dataset that presents varying degrees of obstacles, challenges, and difficulties in locating the anomalous regions, and it produces improved demarcation results that have been instinctively evaluated and supported by Dice score (98 ± 1.3), specificity (98 ± 1.4), and sensitivity (98 ± 1.7) as average metrics. The motive of this study is the enhancement of the visual perception of oncologists, which gives them improved insight into and comprehension of the condition of the patient. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2025.

Enhanced sentiment analysis framework: Ensemble attention enhanced bidirectional long-short-term encoder for accurate classification of consumer reviews

The fast growth of today's technology on social media, the web, etc caused the ongoing and fast creation of opinionated textual data. In this context, internet reviews by consumers determine upcoming consumers whether can buy a particular product or not. Because the thoughts regarding the products are expressed by commenting on reviews. The sentiment analysis is more supportive for comprehending feedback and the attitude of consumers regarding the product’s characteristics. More sentiment classification tasks are carried out by the researchers but attained low level output due to difficulty in learning contextual words. To rectify this type of issue, current work focuses on developing a sentiment analysis framework by progressive techniques. The novel namely Ensemble Attention Enhanced Bidirectional Long-short-term Encoder (EAE-BiLE) is developed. The developed method analyzes online reviews and gains reviews from Amazon and the second task is to form high-quality input. The BERT model generates contextual word embeddings and Bi-directional Long-Short-Term Memory (Bi-LSTM) processes these embeddings in order to capture both backward and forward dependencies from the text. The novel method makes the accurate classification by focusing on important and relevant parts in the text using an attention mechanism that assigns different weights. Detailed experiments that expose the performance of the developed method are performed in this work. This requires a few evaluation metrics that can measure the effectiveness of the developed method, which is accomplished by F1-score, recall, accuracy, and precision. The developed EAE-BiLE framework yields higher rates of 97.2 %, 97.2 %, 99.1 %, and 98.4 % for precision, F1-score, accuracy, and recall. Its error performance is also low, which represents the developed method makes the precise classification. The developed EAE-BiLE excels with higher effectiveness than prior techniques for efficacious sentiment classification.

This research highlights a gap in applying gamification to agile software development enterprises. While gamification risks and negative side effects have been addressed in principle, limited research explored their impact on software development, specifically agile gamification. The paper aims to: 1) identify gamification risks and risk factors for software development enterprises 2) provide a gamification risk taxonomy 3) design context-inclusive risk profiles to identify the cause-effect of the potential risks for the agile roles, and 4) present the impact of gamification on agile software development roles and tasks. The research employs qualitative methods to uncover risk factors and identify gamification risks from software engineers and scrum teams, providing insights from experts to confirm and refine gamification risks within the agile software development context. We aim to help project managers and scrum masters with task assignments and improve the employee's well-being and team performance during the gamified agile software development process.
