Circuit annotation is crucial in analyzing integrated circuit (IC) images for hardware assurance. While deep learning algorithms perform well in circuit annotation, they are highly reliant on labeled training data, which are extremely costly to obtain. The Segment Anything Model (SAM) excels in segmenting natural images but performs sub-optimally on IC images due to the domain gap between IC images and natural images. In this paper, we introduce SAMI C which extends the application of SAM for effective annotation of IC images. We curated an extensive dataset of IC images from four different devices and developed a novel training methodology for SAM models in IC image segmentation. Our experiments show that SAMIC outperforms the original SAM model by 36.78 % and improves accuracy by 6.35 % compared to the second-best technique. © 2024 IEEE.

Math word problem (MWP) represents a critical research area within reading comprehension, where accurate comprehension of math problem text is crucial for generating math expressions. However, current approaches still grapple with unresolved challenges in grasping the sensitivity of math problem text and delineating distinct roles across various clause types, and enhancing numerical representation. To address these challenges, this paper proposes a Numerical Magnitude Aware Multi-Channel Hierarchical Encoding Network (NMA-MHEA) for math expression generation. Firstly, NMA-MHEA implements a multi-channel hierarchical context encoding module to learn context representations at three different channels: intra-clause channel, inter-clause channel, and context-question interaction channel. NMA-MHEA constructs hierarchical constituent-dependency graphs for different levels of sentences and employs a Hierarchical Graph Attention Neural Network (HGAT) to learn syntactic and semantic information within these graphs at the intra-clause and inter-clause channels. NMA-MHEA then refines context clauses using question information at the context-question interaction channel. Secondly, NMA-MHEA designs a number encoding module to enhance the relative magnitude information among numerical values and type information of numerical values. Experimental results on two public benchmark datasets demonstrate that NMA-MHEA outperforms other state-of-the-art models. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag London Ltd., part of Springer Nature 2024.

Reliable artificial intelligence (AI) systems not only propose a challenge on providing intelligent services with high quality for customers but also require customers' privacy to be protected as much as possible during process of the services. Given the ultrahigh computing load brought by deep-learning-based intelligent services to edge devices and the ultralong distance between edge and cloud, low-latency requirement of intelligent services is hard to meet in single edge computing or cloud computing. Edge-cloud collaborative inference of deep neural networks (DNNs) is considered a feasible solution to the problem. However, former work has not reduced the inference latency to the greatest extent and has not considered privacy protection in distributed systems. To solve the problem, we first establish a novel queue mechanism. Then, the convolution layer split decisions are made based on deep reinforcement learning (DRL) to realize the parallel inference of convolutional neural networks (CNNs) for inference latency reduction. Next, for each CNN, the partition decision is made based on brute force algorithm to further reduce inference latency and protect customers' privacy. Finally, simulation results show that our method performs better than the existing other methods. © 2020 IEEE.

CBDC-as-a-problem looks like a mania of interest from central banks and financial institutions all over the world. It may describe CBDC technology and CBDC technology development, the positive aspects of CBDC and its future perspectives as follows: The CBDC is linked to the existing banking systems in the past which was based on the past findings of the blockchain, DLT, etc., that possessed the qualities the previous ones did not have - security, trust, and transparency. Innovation, design and CBDC safety that falls below this paper are discussed in this section below. The paper proceeds to show several paths that central banks are taking to CBDC development given the regulation and changing dynamic of the financial world. However, the studies do not end there;information on the potential of CBDC for financial stability, monetary policy formulation trajectories, transaction privacy, and the role of banks is included. Given that in field of finance the CBDCs are becoming more and more important, this research paper shall ensure to provide consistent background to policymakers, financial institutions and society at large on CBDC and its structural implications. This guarantees that everyone is in the know so it will be possible for them to come up with compliant plans and decisions informed by the knowledge in this changing landscape that simply does not stop evolving. © 2024 IEEE.

Brain CT report generation is significant to aid physicians in diagnosing cranial diseases. Recent studies concentrate on handling the consistency between visual and textual pathological features to improve the coherence of report. However, there exist some challenges: 1) Redundant visual representing: Massive irrelevant areas in 3D scans distract models from representing salient visual contexts. 2) Shifted semantic representing: Limited medical corpus causes difficulties for models to transfer the learned textual representations to generative layers. This study introduces a Pathological Clue-driven Representation Learning (PCRL) model to build cross-modal representations based on pathological clues and naturally adapt them for accurate report generation. Specifically, we construct pathological clues from perspectives of segmented regions, pathological entities, and report themes, to fully grasp visual pathological patterns and learn cross-modal feature representations. To adapt the representations for the text generation task, we bridge the gap between representation learning and report generation by using a unified large language model (LLM) with task-tailored instructions. These crafted instructions enable the LLM to be flexibly fine-tuned across tasks and smoothly transfer the semantic representation for report generation. Experiments demonstrate that our method outperforms previous methods and achieves SoTA performance. Surround-view panoramic imaging delivers extensive spatial coverage and is widely supported by professional and commodity capture devices. Research on inferring and exploring 3D indoor models from 360° images has recently flourished, resulting in highly effective solutions. Nevertheless, challenges persist due to the complexity and variability of indoor environments and issues with noisy and incomplete data. This course provides an up-to-date integrative view of the field. After introducing a characterization of input sources, we define the structure of output models, the priors exploited to bridge the gap between imperfect input and desired output, and the main characteristics of geometry reasoning and data-driven approaches. We then identify and discuss the main sub-problems in indoor reconstruction from panoramas and review and analyze state-of-the-art solutions for indoor capture, room modeling, integrated model computation, visual representation generation, and immersive exploration. Relevant examples of implemented pipelines are described, focusing on deep-learning solutions. We finally point out relevant research issues and analyze research trends. © 2024 Copyright held by the owner/author(s).

DFRC Waveform Design for Ground-Air System Under Inaccurate Target Angle

In ground-air networks, dual-function radar and communication (DFRC) enables a base station (BS) to sense and send communication signals to unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) simultaneously, which has enormous potential. The emphasis of this letter is on the design of DFRC waveform for ground-air system under inaccurate target angle. The desired covariance matrix is considered to have the best radar performance in the presence of inaccurate target angle and the waveform design objective is to make the corresponding covariance matrix approximated to it. The constraints conclude multi-user interference (MUI) energy for high quality of communication and constant modulus for avoiding signal distortion. To address the problem that minimizes the covariance matrix difference under the constraints, we propose a block coordinate descent (BCD) method. Moreover, to ensure the problem feasible, we design an initial value acquisition strategy using bisection-based alternating direction method of multipliers (ADMM). Numerical results indicate that better communication and radar performance are achieved by the proposed method compared with existing methods. © 1994-2012 IEEE.
