Stress is a psychological or emotional strain that occurs due to adverse experiences in human life. This paper showcases the application of deep learning in detecting stress levels in continuous audio signals in the Distress Analysis Interview Corpus Wizard of Oz (DAIC-WOZ) database. The features that have been experimented with are Gammatone Frequency Cepstral Coefficients (GFCC), Log Filter Bank (Log-Filter Bank), Mel Frequency Cepstral Coefficients (MFCC), chroma, and Linear Predictive Coding (LPC). Five deep learning models were evaluated: Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM), Convolutional Neural Network (CNN), Bidirectional LSTM (Bi-LSTM), k-fold CNN with the k value as 5, and a fusion model of CNN, LSTM, and attention. Upon evaluating the performance metrics of all the models, it is concluded that the k-fold CNN model with k as 5 performs well with continuous audio signals. The model has achieved an accuracy of 80% when it is trained on MFCC, GFCC, and Log-F Bank features which are observed to be the optimal features in the stress analysis. © 2024 Elsevier B.V.. The method of recognizing and finding a human by their face in an image is called Human Face Detection and Recognition (HFDR). Application of Biometric method in detecting a human's Identity is called as HFD system. HFDR is a verification system designed to determine one's identity. Innovation in science and technology is rapidly achieving the peak level day by day. Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) are the two such innovative inventions that kicked it up a notch and have turned the world to the next phase. This research is intended to detect and recognize faces using HFDR using ML. The consequences of the simulation experiment clearly show that the HFDR using ML method is best known for its accuracy in HFDR compared to the other algorithms used for Human Face Detection (HFD). The exactness of the proposed HFDR using ML method is illustrated through the experimental outcomes. © 2023 IEEE.

Brain-computer Interaction (BCI) is an indispensable component in the constantly evolving field of human-machine interaction, offering direct interaction between the human brain and external devices. The acquisition of electroencephalogram, or EEG, signals by BCI devices is vital for this connection. The objective of this study is to differentiate eye states (open and closed) with the goal of shedding light on the consequences of artifacts when performing various BCI tasks. The background study explores the key concepts of BCI, emphasizing the critical role that EEG signals play in the intricate relationship between humans and computers. Within the BCI framework, the problem statement accentuates the importance of eye state classification across tasks. In an effort to improve classification accuracy and eliminate artifacts, this research strategically integrates techniques through the implementation of an extensive approach and assessments of multiple ensemble strategies. The findings and analysis reveal the efficiency of ensemble approaches in understanding eye states, hence improving BCI applications and expanding human-machine interaction. © 2024 IEEE.

A pedagogical agent is an animated interface in an interactive online learning environment. Its role involves guiding users through instructions and participating in direct discussions. Numerous research studies underline the advantages of pedagogical agents in delivering instruction, tailoring learning experiences, and promoting inclusivity. The authors utilize machine learning techniques to develop an interactive multimodal application (combining visuals and audio) designed as a pedagogical agent. This application is intended to assist in teaching primary school students (aged 6 to 8) the recognition of colors and letters. Additionally, it incorporates voice interaction to assess their learning progress. The overarching objective of this pedagogical agent is to seamlessly integrate artificial intelligence (AI) into educational settings, thereby amplifying student engagement and motivation during the learning process. This paper will explore the journey of creating a machine learning-based application and its potential utility in supporting educators. Furthermore, the authors will investigate potential augmentations that could render the application more adept at aiding students with dyslexia. The paper will emphasize the significance of human-computer interaction (HCI), as it significantly shapes pedagogical agents' design and operational aspects. © 2023 IEEE.

Today,due to the pandemic of COVID-19 the entire world is facing a serious health *** to the World Health Organization(WHO),people in public places should wear a face mask to control the rapid transmission of *** governmental bodies of different countries imposed that wearing a face mask is compulsory in public ***,it is very difficult to manually monitor people in overcrowded *** research focuses on providing a solution to enforce one of the important preventative measures of COVID-19 in public places,by presenting an automated system that automatically localizes masked and unmasked human faces within an image or video of an area which assist in this outbreak of *** paper demonstrates a transfer learning approach with the Faster-RCNN model to detect faces that are masked or *** proposed framework is built by fine-tuning the state-of-the-art deep learning model,Faster-RCNN,and has been validated on a publicly available dataset named Face Mask Dataset(FMD)and achieving the highest average precision(AP)of 81%and highest average Recall(AR)of 84%.This shows the strong robustness and capabilities of the Faster-RCNN model to detect individuals with masked and un-masked ***,this work applies to real-time and can be implemented in any public service area.

The creation of an algorithm for recognizing pathological abnormalities in cystic fibrosis is investigated in this paper using the CNN model with a modified psp-net. Currently, Decision Trees, Random Forests, PSP Nets, and Neural Networks are utilized in the diagnosis of cystic fibrosis. Since convolutional neural networks (CNNs) can process complicated picture data rapidly and efficiently, the goal of this study is to use CNNs for the detection of anomalies associated with cystic fibrosis. The method groups distinct annotated images into a simple and efficient structure, runs the set of images through a multiscale CNN procedure, and precisely locates the lung region affected by cystic fibrosis. The result of this paper demonstrated that differences in the training dataset can impact performance, but annotating CT images and categorizing them in terms of similar pathologies can improve the accuracy of the model. The proposed CNN model achieved an Accuracy of 84 %, Precision of 74%, Recall of 79%, F1-Score of 72%, error rate of 16% Which is better when compared with existing approaches. © 2024 IEEE.

Hypersoft sets (HSSs) were initiated as an extension of soft sets (SSs) to address real-life scenarios involving multiple disjoint sets with different traits. One such extension is the interval-valued fuzzy hypersoft set (IVFHSS), which has proven effective in decision-making (DM). However, the IVFHSS model lacks a mechanism to incorporate the degree of acceptance of DM opinions, which is crucial for accurate decision-making. To overcome this limitation, our work aims to develop a novel hyperstructure called a possibility interval-valued fuzzy hypersoft set (PIVFHS-set). We begin by introducing essential operations and their properties, such as PIVFHS-subset, PIVFHS-null set, PIVFHS-absolute set, and complement of a PIVFHS-set. These concepts are illustrated through numerical examples to demonstrate their practical applications. Next, we delve into set-theoretic operations of PIVFHS sets, including union, intersection, AND, OR, and relevant laws. These operations are further elucidated through numerical examples, matrix representations, and graphical illustrations. Additionally, we present two algorithms based on AND and OR operations, providing step-by-step explanations and showcasing their effectiveness through illustrative examples. Furthermore, we introduce a similarity measure to facilitate pattern recognition in PIVFHS-sets, aiding users in recruitment processes. Alongside an analytical study of the advantages and disadvantages of this model, we provide suggestions for future research based on the identified limitations. © 2025, University of New Mexico. Text recognition in natural scenes presents a significant challenge in computer vision despite its widespread applications in real-life scenarios. Deep learning advancements have notably enhanced the precision of scene text recognition. The prevailing framework for scene text recognition currently revolves around the encoder–decoder architecture, with Connectionist Temporal Classification (CTC) and attention mechanisms serving as popular text recognition techniques. However, existing methods rooted in the encoder–decoder architecture primarily integrate the attention mechanism into the decoder, limiting their capacity to identify characters accurately. Conversely, CTC-based methods exhibit faster processing times and impose fewer computational burdens, yet they are comparatively less effective than their attention-based counterparts. We introduce a new text recognition network based on a transformer-based network to address these limitations. Our proposed network introduces the Dual Step Attention Mechanism (DSAM), wherein the encoder's attention mechanism captures the overall text location within the image. In contrast, the decoder's attention mechanism precisely identifies the location of each character in the word image. In addition, we have employed a bidirectional encoding to capture the capture character sequence in both directions. To validate the efficacy of our approach, we conducted a comprehensive performance evaluation comparing our proposed network with state-of-the-art methods across six diverse text datasets, namely IIIT5K, SVT, IC13, IC15, SVTP, and CUTE.
