This paper presents the application of Fractional Order Sliding Mode control (FO-SMC) in order to achieve a robust motion trajectory regulation in dynamic robot systems. The proposed control strategy benefits of both advantages of fractional calculus and sliding mode control to upgrade the robustness and the performances of the controller. Moreover, the paper proposes to use a fuzzy tuning of sliding mode controller in order to satisfy the capabilities of the actuators. The stability of the closed loop system has been demonstrated using the Lyapunov theory. Simulation results demonstrate the efficiency of the proposed method achieving precise trajectory tracking and robust performances, it has been shown that fuzzy tuning of the sliding function parameters significantly reduces control variable peaks, making the control more suitable for actuator application.

In the subject of corpus linguistics, this study explores the use of transformer-based neural networks to the problems of predictive text production in multilingual contexts. The Transformer architecture presents a viable framework for natural language processing problems because of its reputation for capturing complex patterns and long-range dependencies in sequential data. The research employs a two-phase approach, whereby the Transformer is first pre-Trained using a variety of multilingual corpora. This helps the model learn representations that are independent of language, which makes it easier for it to adapt to various linguistic circumstances. The model is then fine-Tuned using language-specific datasets to improve its ability to produce linguistically nuanced and contextually appropriate text. The study looks into how different model architectures, training methods, and hyperparameters affect how well the suggested multilingual predictive text generation system performs. Evaluation measures are used to evaluate the model's performance in several languages, including linguistic diversity measurements, BLEU scores, and perplexity. The overall accuracy, calculated across all languages, stands at 80.3%, indicating the model's robust cross-lingual generalization and its effectiveness in capturing diverse linguistic nuances The efficacy and generalization of Transformer-based models are improved across a wide range of languages to handle linguistic diversity. © 2024 IEEE.

Observer-based multivariable fixed-time formation control of mobile robots

This paper proposes a multivariable fixed-time leaderfollower formation control method for a group of nonholonomic mobile robots, which has the ability to estimate multiple uncertainties. Firstly, based on the state space model of the leader-follower formation, a multivariable fixed-time formation kinematics controller is designed. Secondly, to overcome uncertainties existing in the nonholonomic mobile robot system, such as load change,friction, external disturbance, a multivariable fixed-time torque controller based on the fixed-time disturbance observer at the dynamic level is designed. The designed torque controller is cascaded with the formation controller and finally realizes accurate estimation of the uncertain part of the system, the follower tracking of reference velocity and the desired formation of the leader and the follower in a fixed-time. The fixed-time upper bound is completely determined by the controller parameters, which is independent of the initial state of the system. The multivariable fixed-time control theory and the Lyapunov method are adopted to ensure the system ***, the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm is verified by the experimental simulation.

Robust Fault-Tolerant control for Dynamic Positioning of Ships with Prescribed Performance

This study presents a new fault-tolerant control scheme for ship dynamic positioning. The scheme aims to handle unknown disturbances, imprecise fault estimation, and control input constraints. Firstly, an adaptive sliding mode disturbance observer is introduced. This observer effectively reconstructs disturbances in finite time, even without knowledge of their derivative upper bounds. Next, we design a novel prescribed performance function that sets bounds on tracking errors. It is combined with the technique of auxiliary intermediate control to create a high-level controller. A robust fault-tolerant control allocation scheme is proposed to redistribute the generalized forces among faulty actuators. It autonomously finds a feasible force vector in the attainable force set. Simulation results are provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed control scheme. © 2023, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Nanosatellites, on ejection from the launch vehicle, tumble with random angular velocities and have to be stabilized before they can commence their normal working. Due to the restriction on the mass and size of the nanosatellite, the use of exhaustive massive thrusters is not feasible. Hence, nanosatellites must use alternative methods to stabilize themselves. For the COEPSAT-2 nanosatellite, the B-Dot algorithm will be used to damp the angular velocities along all 3 axes. B-Dot uses the torque generated by the interaction between the torque rods and the earth's magnetic field to stabilize the satellite. This paper presents the implementation, testing procedure, and experimental results obtained during the testing of the B-dot algorithm. The B-Dot algorithm requires control of magnetic dipole moment, which is achieved by controlling the current through the magnetorquer coils. A low-power controlled current source was developed using linear regulator topology. The detailed design procedure and testing results of the current control circuit are presented in this paper. A design of an alternative switch mode topology is also discussed in the paper. For on-ground testing, an air-bearing was used for levitating the test setup, allowing it to rotate freely about one axis. This enabled us to evaluate the damping effect of the B-Dot algorithm on angular velocity in space-like conditions. An exponential decay in angular velocity was observed in these experiments. We present the angular velocity data acquired in these experiments and the effects that various factors like magnetic field strength, maximum magnetorquer current, gain values, initial velocity, and sensor calibration have on stabilization time. A Coding-Enhanced Jamming Approach for Secure Semantic Communication over Wiretap Channels

As semantic communication (SemCom) gains increasing attention as a novel communication paradigm, ensuring the security of transmitted semantic information over open wireless channels becomes crucial. Existing secure SemCom solutions often lack explicit control over security. To address this, we propose a coding-enhanced jamming approach for secure SemCom over wiretap channels. This approach integrates deep joint source and channel coding (DeepJSCC) with neural network-based digital modulation, enabling controlled jamming through two-layer superposition coding. The outer constellation sequence encodes the source image, while the inner constellation sequence, derived from a secret image, acts as the jamming signal. By minimizing the mutual information between the outer and inner constellation sequences, the jamming effect is enhanced. The jamming signal is superposed on the outer constellation sequence, preventing the eavesdropper from recovering the source image. The power allocation coefficient (PAC) in the superposition coding can be adjusted to control system security. Experiments show that our approach matches existing methods in security while significantly improving reconstruction performance across varying channel signal-to-noise ratios (SNRs) and compression ratios. The Wuling Mountains Area(WMA) is one of the important ecological protection areas in central China, known for its rich biodiversity and unique ecological environment. To effectively protect the species resources in this area and strengthen ecological monitoring and research, this paper proposes and designs the “Wuling Mountains Region Characteristic Species Expert Database System.” By integrating expert resources, species data, ecological environment information, and modern information technologies, an intelligent system has been developed that combines data management, expert support, species identification, and research analysis. This paper discusses in detail the system's requirements analysis, design concept, implementation technologies, and potential applications, aiming to provide technological support for biodiversity conservation and sustainable ecological development in the region.

LV-UNet: A Lightweight and Vanilla Model for Medical Image Segmentation

While large models have achieved significant progress in computer vision, challenges such as optimization complexity, the intricacy of transformer architectures, computational constraints, and practical application demands highlight the importance of simpler model designs in medical image segmentation. This need is particularly pronounced in mobile medical devices, which require lightweight, deployable models with real-time performance. However, existing lightweight models often suffer from poor robustness across datasets, limiting their widespread adoption. To address these challenges, this paper introduces LV-UNet, a lightweight and vanilla model that leverages pre-trained MobileNetv3-Large backbones and incorporates fusible modules. LV-UNet employs an enhanced deep training strategy and switches to a deployment mode during inference by re-parametrization, significantly reducing parameter count and computational overhead. Experimental results on ISIC 2016, BUSI, CVC-ClinicDB, CVC-ColonDB, and Kvair-SEG datasets demonstrate a better trade-off between performance and the computational load. The improvement of 5G networks started in 2019 and is commonly accepted to bring changes not restricted to individuals' day-by-day life. The interconnection between the nodes of 5G network is realized through the utilization of optical transceiver modules and optical fibers. The most interesting part in the 5G communication network is the communication between the Central Office (CO) and the Base Station (BS), which has been widely investigated by several researchers to enhance and optimize such network performance. As a result, in this paper we demonstrate, design and implemented a) based on Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM Radio over Fiber (RoF) system and by using the software of Optisystem 17.1 version. Such system is considered a 32X40 Gbps of data transmission for higher speed transmission system towards the Tera bit per second (Tbps) communication. The channels of 1, 4, 8, 12, 16, 20, 24, 28 and 32 were selected as samples for the investigation. The performance analysis would be based on the parameters of the eye diagram, (Quality Factor) Q-factor and Min Bit Error Rate (BER) and for distances of 60, 120 and 180 km respectively. Analyzing results indicate a higher performance system toward the 1.28 Tbps of data rate transmission. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

In this study, 74 college student volunteers were recruited as experimental participants, and 108 game 3D images of the Arena of Valor game were used as the selected samples. The digital avatar is presented to the subject through AR technology. Then, the participants were asked to choose five digital avatar that they would probably go on to use in the future metaverse. Finally, after excluding the effects of game familiarity and other socio-statistical variables, it was found that the gender of the selected Digital avatar was positively correlated with the actual participants’ gender, and it was further found that females were more gender specific and more aggregated in terms of Gender Expression than males, while males were less gender specific and more dispersed. This study found that although there was certain influence of historical culture on the selection aspect of the digital avatar, it was not significant.
