Healthcare networks face significant cybersecurity threats due to their extensive interconnectivity, with Address Resolution Protocol (ARP) spoofing posing a major risk to the confidentiality and integrity of medical data. ARP spoofing is a Man-in-the-Middle (MITM) attack where an attacker sends falsified ARP messages to associate their MAC address with the IP address of a legitimate device, enabling unauthorized interception or manipulation of network traffic. In this paper, we propose an LSTM-based detection model designed to effectively identify ARP spoofing attacks in healthcare environments. Unlike traditional methods that rely on static markers at fixed time intervals, the LSTM model leverages temporal dependencies in network traffic, enhancing detection accuracy and adaptability to evolving attack patterns. Experimental results based on the CICIoMT dataset 2024 demonstrate that the proposed model achieves a detection accuracy of 98.5%, significantly outperforming conventional approaches. These findings highlight the effectiveness of LSTM networks in mitigating ARP spoofing threats, offering a scalable solution for securing healthcare networks.

The imaging technique known as computed tomography (CT) is often considered to be the most reliable way for non-invasive diagnosis. Through the use of three-dimensional (3D) computed tomography images, we were able to categorize aggressive tumors that were found in the liver for the aim of this research. When it comes to the three-dimensional (3D) CT image, the dimension reduction is accomplished by the use of principal component analysis (PCA). The Random Forest Algorithm is responsible for identifying the abnormal hepatic region, and a median filter is used to reduce the amount of noise occurring. Methods of data augmentation are also employed in this process. To extract Gray Level Run Length Matrix (GLRLM) features, using Pyradiomics python package. These features are then fed into a 3D-CNN classifier to classify malignant tumors and haemangiomas. Our model was found to have greater performance after being compared to the findings of other models. This was revealed after the comparison was made. For the training dataset, our model has an accuracy of 97.2%, and for the test dataset, it has an accuracy of 98.25%. This accuracy is determined by the performance metrics that our model incorporates.

Objective: To introduce and evaluate an efficient neural network approach for human pose estimation and correction during physical therapy exercises using wearable sensor data. Methods: We leveraged benchmark data consisting of 276,625 records from wearable inertial and magnetic sensors. A novel method termed Random Forest Long Short-Term Memory (RFL), which integrates long short-term memory and Random Forest neural networks, was implemented for transfer feature engineering. The smartphone sensor data was used to generate new temporal and probabilistic features. These features were then utilized in machine learning methods to classify physical therapy exercises. Rigorous experiments, including k-fold validation and hyperparameter optimization, were conducted to validate the performance of the RFL approach. Results: The RFL approach demonstrated superior performance, achieving a remarkable 99% accuracy with the Random Forest method. The rigorous experiments confirmed the efficacy and reliability of the method in classifying physical therapy exercises. Conclusions: The proposed RFL method introduces a novel feature generation approach enhancing the accuracy of physical therapy exercise classification and correction. This innovative integration not only improves rehabilitation monitoring but also paves the way for more adaptive and intelligent physiotherapy assistance systems. By leveraging sensor data and advanced machine learning techniques, it has the potential to mitigate risks associated with disabilities and major diseases, thereby offering a feasible alternative to frequent clinic visits for consistent therapist guidance. NSPG-Miner: Mining Repetitive Negative Sequential Patterns

Sequential pattern mining (SPM) with gap constraints (or repetitive SPM or tandem repeat discovery in bioinformatics) can find frequent repetitive subsequences satisfying gap constraints, which are called positive sequential patterns with gap constraints (PSPGs). However, classical SPM with gap constraints cannot find the frequent missing items in the PSPGs. To tackle this issue, this paper explores negative sequential patterns with gap constraints (NSPGs). We propose an efficient NSPG-Miner algorithm that can mine both frequent PSPGs and NSPGs simultaneously. To effectively reduce candidate patterns, we propose a pattern join strategy with negative patterns which can generate both positive and negative candidate patterns at the same time. To calculate the support (frequency of occurrence) of a pattern in each sequence, we explore a NegPair algorithm that employs a key-value pair array structure to deal with the gap constraints and the negative items simultaneously and can avoid redundant rescanning of the original sequence, thus improving the efficiency of the algorithm. To report the performance of NSPG-Miner, 11 competitive algorithms and 11 datasets are employed. The experimental results not only validate the effectiveness of the strategies adopted by NSPG-Miner, but also verify that NSPG-Miner can discover more valuable information than the state-ofthe-art algorithms. Semantic segmentation of remote sensing images (RSIs) is essential for applications such as environmental monitoring, urban planning, and disaster management. Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) and their variants struggle to capture comprehensive spectral context for learning discriminative representations. In this paper, we propose a Spectrum-Enhanced Network (SPENet) that leverages the Frequency Transformer Block (FTB) to capture rich spectral context. FTB integrates Spectrum-Enhanced Attention (SEA) with Multi-Head Frequency Self-Attention (MH-FSA), incorporating more informative contextual cues. Specifically, SEA aggregates spectral statistics through covariance matrix normalization before applying channel-wise attention. By projecting feature maps onto the frequency domain, MH-FSA provides the network with a broader context, extending beyond the low-frequency focus of standard self-attention mechanisms. Extensive experiments on the ISPRS Potsdam and LoveDA datasets show that SPENet significantly outperforms state-of-the-art methods. Besides, the proposed SEA module notably rises average F1-score/overall accuracy/mean insert over union wiht more than 2.5/2.6%/2.3%, as demonstrated by ablation study.

Anomaly detection is a common application of machine learning. Out-of-distribution (OOD) detection in particular is a semi-supervised anomaly detection technique where the detection method is trained only on the inlier (in-distribution) samples - unlike the fully supervised variant, the distribution of the outlier samples are never explicitly modeled in OOD detection tasks. In this work, we design a novel GAN-based OOD detection network specifically designed to protect a cyber-physical signal systems from novel Trojan malware called non-control data (NCD) attack that evades conventional malware detection techniques. Inspired in part by the classical locally most powerful (LMP) test in statistical inferences, the proposed LMP-GAN trains the OOD detector (discriminator) by generating OOD samples that are aimed at making maximal alteration to the inlier samples while evading detection. We experimentally compare the results to the state-of-the-art anomaly detection methods to demonstrate the benefits and the appropriateness of the LMP-GAN OOD detector. © 2025 IEEE.

Amorphous multi-element materials offer unprecedented tunability in composition and properties, yet their rational design remains challenging due to the lack of predictive structure-property relationships and the vast configurational space. Traditional modeling struggles to capture the intricate short-range order that dictates their stability and functionality. We here introduce ApolloX, a pioneering predictive framework for amorphous multi-element materials, establishing a new paradigm by integrating physics-informed generative modeling with particle swarm optimization, using chemical short-range order as an explicit constraint. By systematically navigating the disordered energy landscape, ApolloX enables the targeted design of thermodynamically stable amorphous configurations. It accurately predicts atomic-scale arrangements, including composition-driven metal clustering and amorphization trends, which are well-validated by experiments, while also guiding synthesis by leveraging sluggish diffusion to control elemental distribution and disorder. The resulting structural evolution, governed by composition, directly impacts catalytic performance, leading to improved activity and stability with increasing amorphization. This predictive-experimental synergy transforms the discovery of amorphous materials, unlocking new frontiers in catalysis, energy storage, and functional disordered systems. Blockchain-based IoT applications in agriculture have drawn extensive attention in recent years, allowing the implementation of smart agriculture solutions. By transmitting collected relevant data to a control center through the blockchain, corresponding regulation can be realized in agricultural production management systems. However, existing efforts for directly adopting the technique to data transmission are obstructed by several issues. The traceability of agricultural data stored in the blockchain leads to the exposure of the identity of the data collecting devices. And the tracing difficulty of completely invisible data for identity protection also exists in the smart agricultural system. To tackle these limitations, we propose a novel blockchain-based smart agricultural IoT system framework for regulating the agricultural production environment through trusted data. First, the elliptic curve integrated encryption scheme (ECIES) and the group signature scheme are integrated to guarantee the traceability and identity protection of the data and equipment, respectively. Then, to enhance the security of session key transmission in the ECIES scheme, we further design an on-chain-off-chain key agreement protocol (ECIES-OOKA). In addition, we propose a novel group manager selection method based on probabilistic linguistic term sets (PLTSs) for the group signature implementation. Finally, a practical example is provided to demonstrate the group manager selection process and verify the feasibility of the proposed method. The security and performance analysis for the system framework are also presented. © 2004-2012 IEEE.

Apache Spark has emerged as the de facto framework for big data analytics with its advanced in-memory programming model and upper-level libraries for scalable machine learning, graph analysis, streaming and structured data processing. It is a general-purpose cluster computing framework with language-integrated APIs in Scala, Java, Python and R. As a rapidly evolving open source project, with an increasing number of contributors from both academia and industry, it is difficult for researchers to comprehend the full body of development and research behind Apache Spark, especially those who are beginners in this area. In this paper, we present a technical review on big data analytics using Apache Spark. This review focuses on the key components, abstractions and features of Apache Spark. More specifically, it shows what Apache Spark has for designing and implementing big data algorithms and pipelines for machine learning, graph analysis and stream processing. In addition, we highlight some research and development directions on Apache Spark for big data analytics. © 2016, Springer International Publishing Switzerland.
